Just went in here for a tire issue and somehow the receptionist relayed it I needed an oil change. The manager came to inform me the oil change was done with full synthetic and the car was ready. When I was understandably confused and explained that was incorrect and I came in for my tire and absolutely did not need an oil change, he told me he would only charge me 50%. We argued back and for a bit over it and somehow the receptionist I originally talked to left (it has been less than 10 min). I stated I would not be paying anything from a miscommunication on their end and I needed my key back to take my car elsewhere. Now not only do I have to go to another place to get my tire evaluated, I have to make sure that this oil change was done right since they got no money for it. If I would have let them evaluate my tire I wouldn't have believed anything they said anyways as it seems money would have been tried to be recouped from the oil fiasco whether it was needed or not. Been there a couple times for various things (e.g. brake job kind of stuff)...was satisfied--until daughter's headlight went out. They recommended I buy replacement unit ($350-ish)...they replaced it ($200-ish)...and a week later it no longer worked. I went back to discuss and they basically threw hands up saying, "I'd recommend taking it to dealer--we don't diagnose electrical problems like that...we do more basic type stuff". Really??...how about the $600-$600 I just wasted?! I get it--they can't warrant someone else's light unit--but apparently there is an underlying problem that they should have seen/diagnosed--or otherwise, not taken the job and my $200. I'm very disappointed with dismissive attitude--I thought I had found that honest/fair mechanic that we all need--I guess not. read more

I came yesterday to have my oil changed . It was a terrible job my car dripped oil all over my garage and driveway. When I come the next day to complain about it and the manager Sorosh Azidehak treated me so un respectful and told me if I didn't like the job then I shouldn't come back and that he was not going to send anybody to clean my garage that it was not their fault. I asked nicely and with all the rights that I had to complain I never even raised my voice I just showed him the pictures of the big stains and he just really popped . I have him on video yelling at me and I really had never been treated this way . I will do everything I can to be heard and have him have some sort or consequence for the treatment I got . read more

Complaint Type: Contract Issues Problem: I was completely cheated by this place. On March 2nd, 2019 I took my son's red BMW to Express Car Care to get a quote on repainting some scratched areas on the bumper, right front side of the car. The purpose of beautifying the car was to give it to my youngest son as a birthday present. The shop was recommended to me by my friend Todd P. I had previously gotten a quote of $1,000 on the work from a shop in League City that my girlfriend has used. When I got to Express Car Care I met Tony the owner who looked at the car and quoted me $800 for the work. I said let's do it because it was $200 cheaper than the other quote and seemed reasonable. I also asked them to do an inspection and oil change. Because my friend's family had recommended the shop and had used them for years, I did not ask for the quote in writing. I called Todd P. and told him it was lower than the other quote, and thanked him for the recommendation. On Monday, March 4th, I dropped the car off. I had just purchased another car, and the sales person who sold me the car was with me when I dropped the car off at Express. Tony came out of his office to greet me in a friendly way. He said remind me what I quoted you. I said $800. He said okay. So I left the car and went on vacation. I got a call that the car was ready a few days later, so on Saturday the 9th I went to pick it up, excited to give it to my son that day since I had just returned from my vacation. The car looked good, so I went with Tony to the counter to pay, and they said the total was $1,553.72. I was shocked by the price, so I asked them to give me a breakdown. The oil change and inspection were okay, but they were trying to charge $1,400 for the body work. I reminded Tony that he quoted me $800. He said it was a lot of work and that he never would have quoted $800. I said I got a quote for $1,000 from a body shop and your quote was $200 less. I reminded him that we discussed the number not once, but twice, and that I trusted him based on my friend's referral. He said that his cost was more than that and that this is a quality job. I said if your costs were higher and you needed to charge more, you should have called me and given me the option. You can't just add $600 to the bill. I mentioned the relationship he had with my friend's family, and said they would be very upset to hear about this. He said he was sorry I was having a bad day and that he has never made a mistake in quoting. That I must have heard wrong. This was very upsetting. I am a business owner, and I would never treat a customer this way. I was not going to pay $600 more for the work, and I needed to give the car to my son as promised, so I picked up the keys from the counter and drove the car around the corner, leaving my Ford Focus in their lot, then immediately Ubered back to see if Tony would discuss the issue with me so we could settle up. Tony and his employees would not discuss anything with me, and instead he actually called the police. When the police arrived they said this is a civil matter. I asked them to please try to convince him to talk with me. I offered to pay $1,000 for the paint job in an attempt to resolve the matter. He told the police that I had to come back on Monday with the amount of the bill in order to get my car back and avoid his pressing charges. I returned on Monday (today) and paid the ridiculous bill in full. I was taken for $600. When I paid I talked with Tony's nephew Sorosh. He was very nice. I asked him to please try to convey to Tony that he will lose my friend's family as customers, that he lost me as a customer who has several cars, and that I will not let this go. I have been taking my car here for several years, primarily for oil changes and other minor maintenance. I brought it in for a more major repair this time - my compressor was kaput, and I am so happy with the service! I had taken my car to another mechanic who was closer to where I work. I told them that I thought I might need a coolant recharge, but wasn't sure. They recharged my coolant alright and charged my $150, but then told me that my compressor was out, and they quoted me about $1200 to do the repair. I called Express and spoke with Sorosh. He very politely let me know that the other mechanic shouldn't have recharged the coolant, because it would be very obvious if the compressor wasn't working, and if so, when the compressor is replaced, the coolant must be recharged. He also told me he thought he could do the repair for around $800. I brought it in a while later, and, after looking at the car, Sorosh called and quoted me $750: $450 for the part and the rest for the coolant recharge and labor. When they went to work on my car, they noticed that my brake pads were almost down to my rotor and called back to ask if I wanted that fixed as well. I knew I needed my brake pads replaced, but had forgotten, so I was glad they caught this. As a woman, I have frequently had mechanics try to overcharge me or convince me to get repairs that I don't need. I have never had this problem at Express Car Care on Longpoint. I suggest this place for everyone, but especially women. If you want an honest mechanic, go see Sorosh! read more

My family and I have bringing our cars here for years. Although the shop is out of my way, I do not trust my car with anyone else. You know why? The owner, manager, and other employees have always been HONEST with us. I have never felt taken advantage of... And how many ladies can say that about their car care experiences? In fact, last week something blew up in my hood, and I had to be towed to the nearest mechanic store. They came back with a huge list of things that were wrong and said the repairs would be $1800... that's IF they could repair the issue. If not, it would be several thousand more to replace the necessary parts. Granted, my car is very old and a POS, but it seemed a little excessive. From my previous good experiences at express car care, I called to explain this mechanic's diagnosis. I was quickly told that the only way that diagnosis could be made was if they had taken my engine apart... Which obviously was not done. Just as I suspected, the place I was at was trying to pull a fast one on me!!! I towed my car to Express Car Care. They had me fixed up in 2 days, with a much much much smaller bill. They instructed me how to monitor a small leak I had, but cleaned it up and thought it would be fine. The first mechanic shop asked to do a $700 replacement of these barely affected parts. The owner spoke to me in such a rude, aggressive way when I was simply trying to ask questions & dialog about my vehicle. When I told him how uncomfortable his behavior was making me he got more aggressive and was ranting. He never apologized for his behavior and would not even let me talk. I have never had a problem there before when I get my oil changed so today was really shocking. I don't care what the quality of service is it isn't worth being mistreated ever. AD SERVICE WARNING. EXPRESS CAR CARE on Wirt and Long Point used to be a decent place for car repairs. Somehow, during last year something went wrong. They are rude to the customers, lying about necessary repairs and constantly delaying. When I try to talk to the manager I was called a "demanding female" and yelled at in front of other customers. All I asked was that they do what they said a week ago when I left my car with them. I would never just trash the business, but I left from there in tears. I had talked to the manager/ owner Mr. Sharosh and he he told me that changing just Bootkit by itself is impossible., could not be done, and I need to stop demanding. (Week ago Tony (the other manager) promised me that he will look into it, when he took the car ) . He told me that he is not "responsible for what Tony said " I had changed that bootkit next day for $400 ....Have an invoice to prove it. I caught him lying and stealing, he claimed to change my suspension, I took the car to another shop down street 15 min after he allegedly change parts, just to find out, nothing was done. $600 down the drain! When I complained, his response was to go somewhere else. What a trash!! I am in the process of filling complaint to BBB and filling fraud charges. They keep me informed of what needs to be done and let me know of what is needed or currently needed without being pushy. When I took my vehicle in for a trip check their inspection was fast, reasonable, and they didn't try to talk me into unnecessary repairs. Service is always fast and efficient and the final repairs are often cheaper than the original estimate. I typically find car repair places intimidating due to by my lack of car knowledge and am usually suspicious that I'm being ripped off either by high prices or unnecessary repairs. I wish I could rate this place better, as it came HIGHLY recommended from a friend (not a Yelper, mind you). After being referred, I came here because when I braked my car would occasionally make an ERRRRR groaning sound. My dad and husband told me I probably just needed a brake job as my car has about 48,000 miles on it at this point, but they told me to take it around and see what the "pros" think. I arrived at 9:45 am on Saturday morning and explained the issue to the owner, Tony. He said I would need to wait at least 30 minutes for him to even get a chance to look at it and diagnose. We agreed that if I came back in an hour it would be better for all. So I came back in exactly 1 hour and 10 minutes. I don't know if those 10 minutes made all the difference between me getting in and out, but I doubt it. When I spoke with him again, he told me again it would be a "minute" until someone could look at it. Even though the place looked busier now, I took his word that it wouldn't take long. Well, the waiting room was packed with a fat stinky man and a mom with 4 rowdy toddlers, so I opted to sit in the back outside against the fence in the shade. This turned out to be good because I could see my car sitting and sitting and sitting and not being looked at. After 45 minutes, someone drove my car away...and stayed away...for 15 minutes...on a "road test." I was actually starting to get worried after so long. Once this guy came back in my car, he said I needed new brake pads and to machine the rotors on the front 2 brakes. He told Tony that, and Tony quoted me verbally $175. I asked how long this would take, he told me 3-4 hours. I wasn't willing to wait, so I asked if I could get the quote in writing so I could talk to my husband and come back at a time when my car can be left. After some shuffling around and telling me to wait more, I was told the keys were in my car so I can leave and the $175 would hold...but I still didn't get the quote on paper as I specifically requested. I'm not car smart, and I want to see how this $175 is being reached and have it documented so I can compare quotes. On my way home, I called my daddy and he asked if they looked at my brake system by raising up my car and taking off my tires. Since I was sitting in the back under my shade tree, I saw that they most certainly did NOT raise my car and look at the actual brake system...they just drove it around for 15 minutes. He said that while the problem they diagnosed was likely the problem, it didn't seem right that they didn't remove the wheels and let me touch and see the roughness on the rotors and the worn brake pad. I agreed with this logic. I haven't got the repairs done on my car yet, but I won't be leaving it here. They weren't particularly friendly, quick, or helpful in my experience. I couldn't get one smile out of Tony. They get 2 stars as opposed to 1 because at least I didn't feel cheated price wise. Compared to other quotes I've now received, $175 is still the lowest (by a hair), but since I don't have a detailed quote on paper, I can't even be sure what all they intend to do to my vehicle. read more

After my car was on the rack I was told the rotors also needed replacing. When I stated I could not afford to pay $600, they said the pads could not be changed. When I paid for the oil change, I questioned why it cost $50. I as told there was a $25 inspection fee for the brakes. I should have been informed of that change before the car was on the rack.
