Hired them to test for me a couple years back. I paid almost a thousand bucks for the service. They came to my house, took samples, and sent me results a while later. All the samples showed negative for asbestos. "Cool!" I thought, but my anxiety still didn't let me feel completely satisfied. I took my own samples, submitted them to a lab in Anaheim ($20 a sample), and the sample I took from my ceiling fan came back positive for 4% Chrysotile (asbestos). I don't know what they did with my money, but it's insane to think that they overlooked the ceiling fan which is one of the common places for asbestos to have been used. I have 0 years of experience in the industry and even I knew that. Don't waste your money. Labs charge about $20 a sample. Find a lab, follow their instructions, and save yourself massive amounts of money. For asbestos, this was an absolutely useless service. read more

Although Andrew was personable he was maybe a bit too personable. He was here for over 2 hours (talking to me) and only collected 1 air sample. When I asked him if he was going to do the additional 2 he had promised during his assessment he told me he did them. When I pushed him saying, "Are you sure you did the other 2? He said, "Oh, your right, I think I got distracted, and I didn't do them." When the company called me back with the results I asked them how to get the mildew smell out of my apartment and clothing and they told me my nose was the problem. Hopefully the property management company doesn't hire them again! read more

I have rented a house in Los Angeles for my son and he lives there with 3 other young men all university students, due to mold in their bathroom cabinet and the long frustrating story behind it, I had to find a company that would test the air at the house. I called many companies, Pw Stephens, Titan environmental, Envirocheck , AEG environmental and Pacific, they all either couldn't help me, wouldn't cuz i was not the landlord or just ddn't care to return my calls...lol So I found Express Air from my first encounter w Shirley and picking her brain w all the questions I had since other companies really ddnt answer to how caring and compassionate she was, I was sold on this company. My appointment was a day later and I met Kevin... honestly I think the company needs to get rid of all their technicians and just keep him:) what a professional, kind and patient young man! He went over everything with me and all the procedure, i followed him to every room and kept asking questions, he patiently answered all and continued to do his work. He was very thorough and even offered advice on couple extra areas to be tested which we did, i had to call the office like 3 times due to additional testings being done and since i was on a budget, I had to make sure I wouldn't go over, Bernice helped me and was so kind, i even got a discount. That same day in the afternoon i received the preliminary report via email and since the office was closed i called Kevin on his cell phone which was on the company business card that he gave me he went over the test w me and was very informative as parts of the report was difficult to understand, he went above and beyond his call of duty and i so appreciated it cuz had he not answered, i would hav had to wait the whole weekend w worries. I have worked with Express Air Testing for a while now. I own a plumbing company. Now a days with all this regulations from the state. Insurance companies trying to avoid to pay out of pocket. Many uneducated plumbers have open walls, ceilings with out testing for asbestos. Jeopardizing the health of the customers and them selfs. Insurance companies take this companies to court for the money they pay out. Express Air is the company you want by your side. First-rate, top of the line. This company exceeded my very high standards. They were called in to test my house for asbestos and lead after a sewage leak into my house. I loved that they worked on Saturdays and were available the day after they were notified of the job. Luis was punctual, professional, highly competent, careful, thoughtful, and very clear in explaining the work. He gave me the lead test results right then and there, and the asbestos results came the next business day. Luis returned several days later to do the post-project asbestos and bacteria tests. He waited at my house until the results were available, which was terrific. At the Express Air Office, Jazmin and Brianna were incredibly helpful, available, knowledgeable, and they coordinated seamlessly with me, their field team, and my State Farm adjustor. Looking at their (very professional looking) website and the region that they cover (large area region) I thought that they would be well in tuned with customer service; they are not. The first line of contact are phones (I called 510-463-5555) and spoke with 'Victoria' she was not customer service oriented, lack tack and without reasonable knowledge of the general process of remediation of asbestos removal. After my call with her, what I came out understanding, is that this company wanted to charge me for services that I did not nor wanted; I just wanted to 'HIRE' services for a 'Clearance Testing'. When I challenged her in the reasoning of having to include an initial survey first, which I have already had tested and the results were positive for asbestos. She continued with the same templated sales tactic and sounded very annoyed. I recognized this and DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Be WARNED...if it doesn't sound reasonable or something just doesn't add up, turn away. There are plenty of other companies (GOOD Companies that want our business and NOT be given the business.)
