So beautiful and not that far from indy! I was happy to hear about this thru Facebook. Great service. It seemed smaller in person but still lots of beautiful tulips. It was scheduled for one week but they extended it another week. This was their first year doing it so I think it was a success. It was pretty busy on the beautiful Wednesday evening I went. Lots of ppl taking pics even with professional setups. Tix were $16 or few dollars off if you purchase online. Lots of parking in the gravel/grass. There is a line to buy tix then you grab scissors to cut your own tulips if you want them $2 a tulip. Some of them were dying so they weren't a perfect bloom for a bouquet. The line to pay for tulips was kind of long as well. We spent a couple hours here looking and taking photos. We looked around first before deciding to go back to cut so we lost some time with that. Great photo ops though, highly recommend! read more

My family and I visited Exploration Acres back on October 1st. Wanting to create lasting memories with my our children, nieces and nephews, I chose this pumpkin patch over others because it seemed to have a lot of cool and unique features. To be honest, the dinosaurs really sold me, so I was super disappointed when we only caught a brief glimpse of one while we were on the tractor headed out to the pumpkin patch. I thought my nephews would think those were really cool. When we first arrived, we did a lap to see what there was to see. First we went panning for gems. The entire family enjoyed that. In hindsight, we probably should've saved that for last; we had to tote our gems around from place to place after that. The kiddos then went down a couple of slides made from unique materials and then our littles rode on a mini tractor pull ride. They then scurried over to the huge pile of loose hay where they could run and jump into them....I'd avoid this if you have seasonal allergies! There were several options for snacking and eating. There was popcorn and pretzels, pizza and more. We opted for a couple of whole pizzas (the most economical option for a crowd) and an assortment of beverages. Some of us chose water, others opted for soda and I had a less than flavorful lemon shake-up. I was hoping for something similar to what I get at the Indiana State Fair, but it wasn't even close. However, lemon water with a dash of sugar was still nice on this fairly warm day. Before leaving we had to try out the corn cannon! We got really close, but couldn't manage to hit the target. The kids had fun on the tumble tubes and the bouncy balls. Lastly, we headed out to the MASSIVE pumpkin patch. We were pretty pooped by then, so we didn't venture too deep into the fields, but we got some really good pumpkins! The ones that we chose are still thriving on our porch as I type. The children carved theirs and they dissolved into mush before Halloween arrived! That part of our adventure was a real workout and after that we left. This place was an hour drive from our home and we did everything but the corn maze. It was fun, but I don't think we'll go again....there are too many other new places for us to explore! read more

Located on the Southside of Lafayette off of US-52, this is a must stop in the months of August-October. Currently they have a sunflower maze until August 29. The maze is 10 acres! You can also fill a large bucket of sunflowers to take home for $30. In mid September they will open for their themed corn maze, huge pumpkin patch, playground, wagon rides, and food trucks. It's that time of year again: The leaves are changing color, the air is getting colder, and parents everywhere are looking for a place to take their young children where they can snap photos of them in front of pumpkins and sitting on bales of hay. Well, if you're one of those parents, then do I have the place for you! It's called Exploration Acres, and you'll feel totally all up in the fall goodness after visiting this place. First and foremost, because I'm writing this during a time when we are living during a pandemic: Exploration Acres has done an amazing job with safety precautions to help keep their visitors safe. I was super diligent about hygiene even before the pandemic happened, so my standards are pretty high when it comes to interacting with the general public during COVID-19 craziness. I have to say, there are very few places that I've visited where I've felt as safe as I have at Exploration Acres. They are on top of the pandemic-safety game! They require masks for all visitors (except in the corn maze, if you're able to keep at least 6 feet away from people). They have hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere. (Seriously, everywhere I turned, I was able to clean my hands!) There are signs everywhere reminding people to keep a safe distance. Also, all of the attractions are outdoors. Awesome! Honestly, this is one of the reasons why my family and I visited. If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy fall fun that is outdoors, a farm such as this is the way to go. Almost all of the activities are included in the price of admission, except the corn cannon and gem mining. Everything else -- corn maze, pedal carts, tire track, tractor train, playground, straw pile, hayrides, corn bin, tumble tubes, hop balls -- are included with admission. There is a lot to do here! We probably could have stayed all day. As it was, we were there about two hours and the time flew by. The corn maze is advertised as the biggest corn maze in northwest Indiana! So, there you go. I have no idea if that's true, but it took me and my family almost 30 minutes to get through all that dang corn, because we kept getting lost. But Exploration Acres thinks of everything and has bottled water for sale at the entrance/exit of their corn maze. Smart! This place also has individual camp spaces to rent, with fire pits, so you can bring chairs and hang out with your friends and family. They also sell s'mores kits in the gift shop, which you can use at your rented fire pit. Nice! Also in the gift shop: Delicious fall desserts like pumpkin rolls, cinnamon rolls, apple cider and other goodies. They also sell food in another section of the farm (things like hot dogs, corn dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and lemon shakeups), and when we were there, the Kona Ice Truck was there to sell shaved ice. There is a pumpkin patch here, but we didn't spend too much time in it. You can get giant pumpkins (and, of course, regular-sized pumpkins), but we weren't in the market for pumpkins, just fall fun. However, if you're looking for giant pumpkins -- like the size that your kids can sit on -- you will find them here. We had so much fun here at this farm! It was a little bit of a drive for us, but totally worth it. I would highly recommend Exploration Acres if you're an Indy parent looking for a place to take your kids, and you don't mind a little drive. read more

Exploration Acres is agri-tourism at its best. The main feature is a corn maze for exploring and catching some discount deals at local stores and restaurants. You get a map card of the layout of the maze and find checkpoints where you can punch your card and get a deal from a local sponsor. But that is not all! There is a TON of farm-themed activities and games for kids. There is a pick your own pumpkin patch, hayrides, tire races (you get INSIDE the tire!), pumpkin cart races, and a big kids activity area. You can shop at the country store and get something to eat at various food vendors. You can also rent a fire pit for the morning or afternoon. The cost to enter is really cheap - $10 for adults and $8 for children. The only other costs are food and the country store. When you go, be aware that you will be walking through a dirt cornfield and all the pathways are dirt and grass. So if it rained yesterday, prepare for mud. If it's been dry, prepare for dust. Don't wear your best pair of tennies. There is lots of fun for people of all ages, and be sure to bring the kids. read more

I attended my first ever Corn Maze. As someone from California, some of the Midwest traditions are new to me. The Corn Maze was surprisingly fun and easy. We did walk a lot especially since we decided to complete the whole maze. It was fun navigating the area. I was thankful we had a map! It took us over an hour to get through the whole maze. It helps being in a team. I think I would have been intimidated being alone. The location had a good selection of activities to do for families and people of all ages. There was a pumpkin patch, hayride, corn maze, lazer tag, children's playground, a few food stands but with long lines, and opportunity to purchase other seasonal goods. We didn't eat here for the food was closed and was going to take an hour for the food truck to open again. My friends and I decided to go back home and eat in Carmel. The entire experience was fun except for the wind that made the dirt spread everywhere. It became sometimes hard to breathe due to the dust. Be sure to dress appropriate for you will get covered in dust and smoke. read more

This use to be a welcoming friendly environment for those of us with disabilities, until now. We were harassed by Jessica who claimed to be a manager before ever entering the gates due to our having a Service Animal. She demanded to know the disability, the service being provided and why it needed to be provided. While we were appalled, we let her know it was not any of her business yet she continued to harass and demand our protected personal information! We told her she can see and read the collar for proof of being a service animal at which she then proceeded to say she would not bend down to look and risk her face being eaten off! We asked the cashiers to get the mgr and here Jessica appears again to demean us further. We also informed her we were over charged an extra ticket, rather make it right she "donates" the ticket to a ghost customer!! The biggest kicker is when another employee later tells us this Jesica is only a trainer who went out of her way to belittle us due to having to depend on a service animal, refuse to correct our being over charged and then to keep us away from actual management! If you want to go somewhere to be treated like trash, this is the place to go, otherwise save yourselves the trouble and go down the road! read more

Yesterday was my first time to a corn maze. I went with a group of friends which made it fun and a few made it scary. See about coupons. The trails via map or by chance led to signs and special hole punches in order to get discounts at Lafayette area stores. It was just fun to have a goal to reach than just walking through field of 8' corn stalks. There were many designs of the maze which I heard changes yearly. One of the guys in my group figured out the map and we empowered him to begin leading the way. It was sometimes muddy so I recommend not to wear white walking shoes and bring a handy flashlight. There were booths for other foods like hot cider and hot chocolate (in the center / beginning of the maze), funnel cake (I think), water, and Gatorade. They have porta potties only near the entry so go before. At the end, we got to a campfire to warm up and make S'mores. There are a hay tunnel, hay pile, and hayrides available to enjoy. read more

The corn maze is great but what I really like about this place is that it does so many things. They have campfires set up for your group to rent, great for retreats or family events. I think you can bring your own coolers and such to that. They have bouncy balls for kids to hop on, forts, some sort of projectile firing thing, and just a range of entertainments for all ages. This is the second year in a row that I have rented a bonfire pit and enjoyed the corn maze. The employees do their best at keeping a stock pile of wood out for you as well as tend to your fire when it needs it. We usually bring some food and pop and enjoy smores! There are a few trash cans around that make the pack up easy. Bring your own chairs and cooler and you will be set! I don't know how I never noticed it in the past but there is a laser tag set up that is really cool! My group of 8 did this twice throughout the night and had a lot of fun with it. They can set up the game in a few different ways such as normal tag and capture the flag. You can even ask to set it up where you team doesn't need to go back to your base to reload your gun. It was definitely worth the $4 for all night game play per person. Enjoy! read more

Can't beat it! There is something for everyone here. A tube slide that all ages can use... Grandparents and Grand children!! An activity area with many free activities like a straw pile, straw tunnel, swings, and a sand box; as well as a couple that are worth a couple bucks. Whether panning for gems, shooting the corn cannon, or playing Lazer tag! Wonderful fire pits in the woods, an expansive pumpkin patch to take a hay ride to or through. The variety of pumpkins is amazing! Giant to tiny and everything in between! I was able to get a pink and blue pumpkin! The owner took the time to tell me that it was a culinary pumpkin and explained how to cook it. This year there was 9 miles of maze in the corn field! I was told that it was a 10 year celebration. This place was amazing! First time there and wasn't expecting it to be so fun! I'm so used to haunted cornfields and was thinking it was going to be boring. Nope! With trying to find all the check points, and actually getting corn-fused it was so awesome and addictive! The pumpkin patch was also so fun! Five stars because this is a one time cost Autumn experience. We went in a Thursday. Paid $7 each and that included so many activities! The hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Giant slide. Duck race. Lazer tag. And of course, the most a-maze-ing corn maze (see what I did there?). We could have spent hours in the maze. Instead we hunted down only our favorites coupons then headed back to the entrance for a corn dog and hot chocolate that chilly night. The overall experience was positive. There were a lot of activities for children and teens besides the corn mazes. Several Food vendors and a country store. You can ride a hay wagon to pick pumpkins. The reason I give it 3 stars is the misleading pricing. They contracted with a company to provide and escape maze experience. We bought those tickets online thinking that was admission to everything else. When we got there we were redirected to the escape maze that was outside the grounds. Then we had to pay again to get in the grounds. Purchasing the escape maze ticket gave us a $2 discount on general admission but had we known we needed tickets to both we could have 1. bought the general admission tickets online thereby saving $2 per ticket or 2. Decided against the escape maze experience because the two combined made admission $20 per person. Once you got inside you still had to pay for other activities. I suppose if it had only been the two of us it all wouldn't seem so expensive but we have invited a missionary family of 5 (with 3 teens who were excited about ALL the activities) with us so we felt we had to purchase the extra tickets for everyone- we couldn't just go home after the 15 minute escape maze! The admission folks didn't seem to have a clue what the deal was with the escape maze or about the discount to get in since we had been through the escape maze(discount was printed on arm band). Re: the Escape Maze It was a fun idea but it was too short. It only took us 15 minutes to get through the maze/experience. We were all disappointed it was over after only 4 clue stations. Some of the locks weren't working well so we thought we had clues wrong but the monitor has to he is with the locks. It cost $10 per person. RE: laser tag We also bought laser tag armbands. $4 for unlimited games was a good deal. The laser tag vendor could have used another staff member as the one guy was selling tickets and managing the game which caused extra time between games when there was a long line. There's more than corn in Indiana.... Yes. Indiana. We are the CORN state indeed. Drive through, it's no joke. However, this means we have the BEST corn mazes! Exploration Acres is the best I have even seen. Each year they plow maze into acres upon acres of tall corn and make a theme and photo to follow. This year the 5 mazes were a USA them. I personally think the Mount Rushmore maze was incredible. It was hard! The open space in the faces made you really have to pay attention. It was like I am in an eyebrow, or that strip is the lip, turn right! Oh no, it wasn't the lip, it was the mustache.... Turn around! Fun! There are 8 miles of maze total in 5 crafty carved mazes. See my photos for the overlay. The neat thing is how they have evolved over the years. There have always been punch stop stations to make your landmarks and success for fun. Now, each station has a specific puncher. the cards are perforated local businesses that are promoting and donating coupon value to the family that runs this fine maze on their farm. It costs $10 for as much play time as you'd like in the corn mazes. Then, the 28 available punch stops are many thinks I actually use! 20% off at Pink Walrus frozen yogurt. 20 free arcade game tokens for up to 6 people on the one coupon with a purchase of a round of indoor mini golf. It's like $5-$7 with or without a student ID and when you go once they ask who won.... then the employee hands the loser a "buy one get one free card" for next time. The card states, "Buy one get one free. You need practice!"....or something like that. So it's like Even less when you combine coupons. Dairy Queen, buy one blizzard, get one free. Linda Mexico, free appetizer with entree purchase. The corn maze alone is fun, but now they have evolved into coupon punches along the way. The website lists the rewards. You must stop at the correct marker though. Each has it's own "symbol" punch. Ex: heart, star, small dot, oval, jalapeno punch, diamond, and many many more. The coupons are only valid once punched. The $10 for unlimited hours of fun (just until they close) is plenty enough fun. However with the rewards, I got my ten dollars back in coupon value after a visit there in one single day/evening. Way to make a day full of fun! They also host a pumpkin patch so you you pick your very own pumpkin and then purchase it by weight. There are wagons so you and any kiddos if you have them can pull them around. There is also a pumpkin Nascar race this year! I didn't see anyone use it but it was like our Indianapolis 500! See, more than corn in Indiana. We have gem stones in the corn when you read reviews and seek local businesses! LOL. Lastly, I can't forget to tell you about the hayride that is fully included to take you out to the corn mazes, pumpkin patch, or wherever. However, its honestly not that far and you certainly can walk... but who wouldn't want a free fun hay ride?! There is 8 miles of corn maze available for exercise. Enjoy the hay ride! This place is awesome and I went three times this season alone. The rewards are such a bonus perk, but I love the maze fun! They even added a children's maze game this this of "clue" of some sort. "Who hurt Farmer Joe?" - it's for KIDS. LOL. But yes, I clearly am kid free and played myself. FUN! You look at the pictures and punch a kids card. A stop has your coupon punch AND a kids photo for their card game. They must punch card the animal, weapon, and location. Ex: Chickens with Rope in a Barn. It wasn't them....! 6 stops on the capital rotunda Maze as I remember and 7 available suspects for the kids game. Just a little extra fun. Kids like to look at pictures, and solve puzzles by playing the "game" it was. Very cool and super updated over the years. There just aren't other corn mazes like this around! Come to the corn state to a real farmers corn field to learn the finest mazes available! There is more than corn in Indiana! But, we will keep our corn and fun for adventure and bragging rights! Exploration acres was SO much fun. Myself and some friends visited the farm on a weekend and had a great time. Everything this year was Stranger Things so the maze was a stranger things design and there were some props from the show such as hoppers car, the clubhouse, a welcome to Hawkins sign, and many photo ops! After we saw all of that, we went on to the corn maze. It was comparable to most, but fun! The corn maze leads out to the pumpkin patch, where we picked some pumpkins. The place is so well groomed and there are soo much photo opportunities! Another random but cool thing we're the bathrooms, they were so nice/clean and renovated in old grain bin silos. For their incredibly low entry fee you have access to the largest corn maze in northern Indiana, a pumpkin patch, a fall-themed general store, and several different children's attractions. You can also rent out a fire ring at night, stop by one of their multiple food trucks to grab a bite to eat, and so much more! This place was fun and all except for one total asshole employee I had the misfortune of encountering. My friend and I are both 18 and saw that they had tricycles, so we thought hey, why not be a kid at heart, right? Yeahhh, no. After we got on, this lady immediately yelled at us, at the top of her lungs and in a very rude tone, "GET OFF, YOU'RE TOO BIG." Ok, I can understand we're too old to ride, but firstly, there's no sign that says there's an age limit. Secondly, we weren't being malicious or rowdy, we genuinely wanted to ride the tricycles and genuinely didn't know we weren't allowed to. She was very rude about it. I don't understand why she couldn't have just said "Could you please get off, you're too old to ride." A simple please would have done, not yelling in a rude tone, and I told her as much. In a calm manner, I just said "maybe you could ask a little nicer..." and walked away. She just rolled her eyes and did not apologize. It also strikes me that we are paying to enter the park, the employees aren't volunteering, so I expect a little more courtesy. Anyway, I'm trying not to let one rotten employee ruin my trip, because everything else was fun, but I doubt I'll be coming back here. I do hope her position is reconsidered because it appears she isn't equipped to deal with people, much less teens or adults, which is what the park primarily caters to. read more

This is probably one of my all time favorite places to visit in Lafayette, Indiana. It's a great place to come to just have fun, and enjoy your family ! It brings so much joy and the workers are so kind , I had a confusion and talked to Maria and Mary, they're all so kind . The hayrides are awesome ! They have so much cute little nick nacks in the store as well! It's so nice to just go and see what they have , especially for decorating your home for the Halloween theme !
