He suggested to remove the existing couple of inches of backsplash for a cleaner install and to position the tiles vertically to highlight the design. He also suggested to use dark colored grout to accentuate the streaks on the tile. He used the upstand he removed and cut it to make a window sill for our kitchen window too.
