Made an appointment with Kenny. I live 40 min away. Nails are important and I'll travel to the right person. He was late ten minutes. (Ok fine, no big deal) He then shows up, looks at me but doesn't acknowledge me, and sits at his station sipping his coffee and looking through is phone for another 5-10 minutes. I was confused. Should I say something...should I go over there? I had work and made the appointment specifically at a time that would coincide with my schedule. He finally acknowledges me. He asks me if I was waiting long... ...? You tell me buddy. But I smiled and said no. Anyway, we proceed and I explain to him how I want my nails, but he kept trying to steer me away from what I wanted. I would say black design here black design there and he would say, "I think we should add bling and white lines." I said "no I'm not really a bling kinda girl and I prefer black lines." Then 45 min later when it came time to do the design he tried to white line me again. So I said "oh um, ya let's do the black designs like we talked about." So he did. (But like...dude...what?) During our nail session he found out where I was from and said "oh thats pretty far, I have to make sure I live up to my expectation and give you a reason to come back." He charged me 65 and I tipped $15. Over 20% even though he was late and he made me 20 min late for work, I forgot about it because he was cool during our session.
But then....I texted him to schedule a fill on a Monday because that is the ONLY day that works for me. He told me the times he had available and I chose 12:30pm. After I chose it and he confirmed it by saying "Ok but nothing fancy because I'm squeezing you in." Ok first of all, are you soft? Tell me you're squeezing me in before you offer me that time. Don't offer it, confirm it, then tell me what to expect because you're squeezing me in. You're not doing this for free buddy. Anyway, I don't answer. Come monday, I'm on my way, 20 minutes into my drive and he texts me. "Hey I'm running behind, can you come at 3:30?" First of all, how behind are you running??? 3 1/2 hours? How? What? I texted him and told him I was already on my way, that I couldn't do 3:30 and asked him if I should just turn around. He then asked me what other day I could do and I said this was the only day I could do. So he suggested the following Monday. Mind you, it had been a week and a half since my full set and one on my nails lifted so much that it popped off and a few others were lifting as well and by the time the following Monday rolls around I would have needed a full set and I didn't think it would have been fair to charge me for a full set since he screwed me on my original appointment. So I explained that to him and he just never responded. I felt like I wasted my money and my business wasn't appreciated. His work isn't worth his unappreciative attitude towards his clients. I'm convinced that any good review written about this place or Kenny is written by a close friend of family member or Kenny himself. There's a place in Lynn called Passion Nails where they do way better work and they appreciate their clients. Kenny, the service industry is not for you. read more
