My wife had a bad case of the flu and we wound up at the ER late one night. She was seen almost immediately. The staff was pleasant and attentive. They listened, which I don't always see from hospital staff. The nurses were really wonderful - available and helpful. I can't entirely say the same about the staff doctor - I didn't get his name but he was a young guy who, while I'm sure is a very good doctor, didn't have the best bedside manner. And, when I had a question for him and couldn't get him to come to the room, I walked over to the desk where he was chatting about sports with others. When I tried to interrupt, he told me to wait and he'd see me when he was available. While I understand that everyone deserves a break now and again, being available for your patients is paramount. Clearly, not working and not being able to answer a simple question because you're talking about unimportant things is not what should be expected. Outside of my complaint about the doctor, we were very happy with how they treated us and cared for my wife. Of course, we have not seen the bill yet...

They will mix heart patients with heavy drug users. Security guards watching you. I was placed in a warm room, then remove to a room that felt like I was in a freezer ordered by the head nasty nurse. If you black don't go to Alexian Brothers Hospital. I started with a 140/80 blood pressure and discharge with a 189/90 blood pressure. I had to beg to please take out the needle still in my arm so I could at least put my coat on. Three blankets were not enough. I then realized I was in the room that the ambulance bring patients through double doors heavy with ice. Temperature about 10 degrees outside. I will NEVER, NEVER go back there again!

As 2022…read morecomes to a close we have so many things to be grateful for. 2022 was a very tough year for my wife and I in so many ways. She had many health issues that required hospitalization on 3 or 4 occasions. The main cause was diverticulitis & UTI's that kept reoccurring & causing severe infection & pain. It became apparent that the diverticulitis wasn't going to just go away. As is the case during her last hospitalization there were so many interns, residents, doctors & specialists that came to see my wife in the process of determining the issues & what the best course of action would be. It's very frustrating having everyone & everything coming into her room. All the specialists urologists, radiologists, infection control doctors & colon surgeons (Dr Park). Dr Park is a very knowledgeable, likable & personable doctor that took the time to explain what needed to be done to prevent the continuing bouts w/diverticulitis. He said surgery should be done to prevent these reoccurring bouts. He performed the surgery back in November of 2022 & as of this date April 12 2023 there haven't been any reoccurring bouts with my wife's diverticulitis. Thank you Dr Park for a great job. We are both very grateful that things have returned to normal.

Since then he has moved at least 3 different times that I can count. In the beginning, I felt he was really, really great. He listened and always took his time (to a fault) talking to you about things. Since then, I have watched a steady decline. After his divorce, he sort of went into left field (one appointment on a Saturday morning he was in his office sleeping off a hangover which I had to wake him up from as we were the only ones in the office) and he started getting very "new-age" in his views on food and medicine. I appreciate his stand-point, but I don't need a 2 hour conversation about it and a laundry list of vitiamins I should be taking (including a push of his nutritional consultant) when all I want is a sore throat checked out. I do believe his is a very passioniate doctor and is very good at what he does. However, I have made the decision after many, many years that I need to find a new one. One who is easier to see and whom I can have that established trust and connection with, not one who makes my head hurt and I have to ask myself, "What the HECK did he just say?"

The first experience was bad but it's the second experience that prompted me to write this review. I would give him zero stars if it were an option. Dr. Close gave me a medication I need and have been taking for a few years. I went to refill it through my mail-order company and they said they could not refill it - I called and found out they need his "DEA number." I called the receptionist today and apparently he can no longer prescribe that medication - he no works with another doctor to prescribe it. I was not informed when this happened, and calls from my mail-order pharmacy to his office were not returned (the receptionist said going through everyone's file would take forever and that they did not receive a call, for what it's worth.) So today I'm scrambling to find a doctor to fulfill this prescription. That is on top of other bad experiences. I made the appointment for 7:30 so I could get to work by 9. He didn't even get there until about 8 a.m. The nurse drew blood and then Dr. Close came in and just talked to me about medicine and diet and other random stuff. I didn't stop him because I thought he was building to a point but he wasn't. He was called out of his office finally at about 9:15 and came back asking if I was in a hurry and I said well I wasn't but I was hoping to get to work by 9 and I'm already behind so I need to go. So he wrote me prescriptions and then said I need to come back in because we never did the actual appointment - checking my heart rate, breathing, etc. Finally, a few days after that the nurse called on a Friday afternoon and said my blood revealed a few things that we need to talk about. I missed the call but left two messages. I never received a return phone call. Who calls a patient and tells them there are a few things from their blood test to discuss and then doesn't follow up or return their calls? Avoid this doctor. I don't think there is any malicious intent but this is really basic stuff a doctor and his staff need to be able to do, and pretty serious. If you're wavering after reading the reviews, trust your gut and go somewhere else.

On 8/24/2020 I was told that my Vitamin D was low along with a few other minor vitamin deficiencies. I was told that I would be put on a schedule to come to the office and have these vitamins administered by IV. I told Carla Brook that I was not going to be administering anything by IV and the costs quoted was outrageous. I requested a copy of my labs to be posted to my portal. Nearly three years later, they have never provided me with the lab results that I paid for and simply ignore my requests. I've now requested that my information in their custody and on their portal be destroyed and my account closed. No answer. I can't speak for the glowing reviews this practice gets because this is the worst I have ever experienced.

Selfishly, I am reluctant to give too good a review here because I want Dr. Albert all to myself. However, due to his kindness and personal interest in my IBD treatment I feel I owe it to him for other perspective patients to know what a truly wonderful man he is. I too had similar thoughts when I first walked into Elaine's office as it is probably the polar opposite of walking into a PT office at say NU Hospital. I also waited a bit longer than I had imagined as Elaine was finishing up with another patient. However, minor grievances aside, I must say that Elaine is by far the best and most thorough doctor I have ever seen. She is also HIGHLY intelligent and EXTREMELY precise when it comes to her diagnosis. I may have lucked out being the last patient of the day but she spent no less than 90 minutes examining and treating me. 90 MINUTES!!! A typical visit with an MD lasts 20 minutes, and that's if you're lucky. Chiros can be even worse as I'm sure many of you know. Notice how the last reviewer said it took 3 hours for her exam... well, even with 2 other patients, that's still unheard of as I'm sure she was just as thorough with her. Elaine is a true holistic practitioner. She practices muscle testing, traction, acupuncture, hypnosis, nutrition, and the list goes on... Believe you me, she will not let you out of her office until she is able to treat you successfully. If you can get past some small gripes (mainly her unorthodox and slightly cluttered office) you will be handsomely rewarded with good and honest treatment. And isn't that the name of the game anyway? Personally, I've had enough of doctors with fancy offices and perky assistants, only to get the obligatory "snap, crackle, pop" routine... If you're looking for a good, honest, and THOROUGH D.C who actually cares about your health and well being then do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment with this woman. My advise would be to try and get the last appointment of the day, thereby avoiding the scenario illustrated by the previous reviewer.

She told my partner that all of their health issues are due to the fact that they are trans and have been on hormones, despite the fact that their medical problems have existed long before they started hormones. She forced us to make two appointments so she could bill our insurance twice, so my partner did not even get an adjustment. Despite this, she still managed to grope my partner's butt without consent.
