Doctors are great but the system is not like it used to be. Rueben, train your associates better and never make assumptions!!

I know a main concern with most seems to be the facility billing upfront, which I also found weird, however, when I informed my insurance company, they said it isn't uncommon for billing to occur beforehand. That being said, I paid the bill the day of the visit. Check in went smoothly, and I was shortly after brought into the pre-op area by Nurse Drei (I believe that is the spelling of his name). The area was not quite as I expected, as it was 7 beds relatively close together separated by curtains. I became skeptical and confirmed with Nurse Drei the surgery wouldn't be happening there, as I would have walked away in a heartbeat. He confirmed it is just where I would get situated in the bed and be wheeled away to the surgery room. I changed into the gown and Nurse Drei started the IV (in my hand) without issues (not a fan of needles and I haven't had surgery so I was on edge already). My doctor and the anesthesiologist came to speak with me for a moment, and I was then wheeled back into the surgery room. The anesthesia took effect pretty quick! The last thing I remember was being bundled in the blanket on the bed and being asked where I would want to be (I said Cancun of course), and I was out! The next thing I remember, is I was waking up (incredibly groggy and confused) in the post-op recovery room, with quite the soreness around my nose area. I was given juice and water and recovered for a little bit, and then I was sent on my way home. Besides the general soreness throughout my nose and face, my bleeding ended after my first day/night, and I am going on day 4 at a good recovery pace. Overall, good experience with the Doctor, the facility, and all the staff, coming from someone with no prior surgery facility experience.

I note that there are many AMG offices (with associated Yelp reviews) located around Chicagoland, but I can only speak about this one. We are very pleased with the services, staff, and the facility itself here. Our PCP, Dr. Ellen Aleksandrovich, is the best and she is very competent, caring, communicative, proactive, and empathetic to the patient's needs. AMG's systems also work great and responsively without long waits - systems meaning phone call answering or followup messaging, their PA staff, their website which is used for both medical info storage as well as e-mail messaging, their billing and payments system, their appointment scheduling, their lab appointments system and staff, etc. They also have several specialists based here that we see, and they have the same support system. We routinely get bloodwork and sometimes imaging done here at Nesset Pavillion. AMG is in turn associated directly with the excellent Advocate Lutheran General Hospital nearby. One of the best things with being part of a group is if your PCP happens to not be available on a given day, another doctor or resident or possibly a PA can step in for an urgent matter and they have all the info they may need at their fingertips. If needed, they can also refer you to one of their immediate care clinics in a Walgreens and I have used that service to get a quick anti-biotic prescription following a quick strep throat test without need to see a PCP. Before using the Advocate Medical Group for a PCP, I had a one man shop PCP, and who happened to take Wednesdays off, and it seemed I always needed him on a Wednesday so he was never there without a few days delay when I needed him, pfft! He also occasionally had suspect billing practices and that was the straw for me. He was competent though, but whatever on that aspect. In our experience, it's a big thumbs up for the Advocate Medical Group staff here at the Nesset Pavillion as well as the facility itself.

If your loved one is here, the nursing staff WILL put their physical health at risk, waiving away all physical symptoms and depicting them entirely as mental illness. The only good staff there are Andrea, and the Patient Advocate, Albert. Some of the doctors and social workers are good, but find a different facility entirely. Especially if you have any Autism Spectrum Disorders, they are NOT educated in patients care with autism conditions. They will violate your civil rights if you are not informed about your needs and legally protected rights. The rest of the staff are nearly mediocre to outright DANGEROUS to patient's health. Especially Alex who communicated to staff that a Reasonable Accommodation request and High Blood Pressure should be deemed Violence and Non compliance. Before the automatic response from CBH is posted with platitudes of how this isn't commiserate with their standard of care and tells me to contact wecare@chicagobh.com as a sacrine acknowledgement for my concerns, know too that I intend to file grievances with the State and the Joint Commission for the sheer level of disregard for patients rights and the lack of corrective actions demonstrated by the repeated complaints listed on this Google review site. CBH is very obviously NOT taking these and others concerns seriously. UPDATE: I have submitted a complaint to wecare@chicagobh.com. If you are at all committed to making changes you will institute the suggestions I placed in that email which include providing ALL further patients with a copy of the ADA and Rehabilitation Act and posting this on ALL inpatient FLOORS so everyone is well aware of their legally protected rights. And your staff doesn't disregard Verbal reasonable accommodation requests in violation of the ADA. Especially considering that you refuse patients pens and pencils. Probably so they cannot express themselves in a professional manner that is acknowledged by your facility and you can dismiss their Verbal self advocacy efforts. Also, they DISCHARGE you with OTHER patients records in violation of HIPAA.. yeah, you just earned my state department complaint. Update 2: The nurses will chart other patients medical information, names, and patient histories in your medical chart leading to improper diagnostic accuracy and administration of dangerous medical treatments. I have opened an investigation into this hospital for medical negligence. Nurse Vanessa and Dr. Bergren will put your wellbeing at risk instead of verifying that they have correct information for the patient. Know Your Rights! Know the law. Started off in the Buffalo Grove office, but once I moved to Mount Prospect, I switched to the office there. So, I've been with Dr. Stefaniuk since ~ 2009. I guess you could say my money is where my mouth is on this review. Dr. Stefaniuk is fantastic. He spends time to truly listen to your problems when you go in. Asks good questions and then presents ample time explaining the diagnosis. I will continue to go here and hope to for a very long time. An older video, but here is an introduction video I found on Dr. Stefaniuk - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHDDOcT3fO0 The facility itself appears clean and modern. The support staff have always been pleasant and easy to work with. During Covid times, they had great protocols in place when coming in. When going in for an appointment visit, I never had a wait time issue. There have been a few instances in the past when I would come in for the On-call doctor (immediate care). All the times that I have, I never experienced any significant wait time (all under an hour from what I recall). If necessary, they have many specialty practices you could get referred out to. For example, I went to an ENT under NCH and was pleased with those doctors as well. I'm a little surprised to see a bunch of the 1 star ratings. Those all seem to be billing or wait time issues. I'm guessing you are going to have those type of complaints at all doctor offices/hospitals..... I was diagnosed with active brain aneurysms by a large Chicago teaching hospital that told me that surgery was too risky but they wanted to keep information on my condition weekly then monthly. I thought about it and decided if they were inoperable why waite for one to burst so I never went back. I got a new revgular Dr Sebastian who owns Seby medical and when I gave him my history he immediately sent me to Lutherine General in Park Ridge to see this young hotshot Dr Oliver. I met with the Dr and I had specific questions and a couple of new cutting edge stump the Dr questions. This Dr is knowledgeable beyond belief and up on everything. He is super confident but not at all aragant. Everything that I asked was responded to professionally and very detailed with the Dr drawing pictures when explaing his gameplan.. He is super easy to talk to and makes you feel that he will do his best to help you through the whole endeavor. I felt impelled to let him know that if things went sideways and I didn't wake up ever that he shouldn't spend one second feeliing bad because it would be God's choice not his mistake. He went through my wrist into my brain 3 times with a plan and flawless execution. So much for inoperable because I have a Rock Star surgeon that I owe my life to and I thought that I should share my story so he gets recognized for the amazing job he does on a daily. From every experience we have had at this Hospital, I truly do not know where to even start. I can…read morewrite a whole novel about how horrible this place has been! My handicapped mother has been here, currently as I type, the 3rd time within the last year. Each time it seems to get worse. There are a few good Doctors and Nurses. However, majority of it has been just awful. Lot of nurses who don't know what they are doing, will totally ignore the patients, or give attitude all because they don't want to do their jobs. I had to call the nurse line directly for my mom (as she is over an hour away from me), because the nurse was ignoring every ring button she pressed. She was bedridden and had to ring for a nurse if she needed to use the bathroom, yet the nurse would ignore it. When I called, she started giving me horrible attitude. That's just one example, of many more from the previous time. Yesterday, she rushed via ambulance to the ER. It's been nothing but Hell. It is worse than prison. Let me also mention, her blood pressure thing came off and was beeping for over half an hour. My mom pressed the call button, but nobody came. She had to get up and physically wave down a nurse! Anyway, long story short, I contacted the complaint email to express the horrible service and treatment my mom is getting. Apparently, that made them all mad, because the complaint woman had the urge to than go up to my moms room and tell her she needs to tell me that she (my mom) is refusing things and it's not on them. These things being blood drawn at 4am, that my mom didn't even know about. Then the nurses told her she would probably need an MRI tomorrow morning. My mom DID NOT refuse, she just said she couldn't do an MRI from extreme panic attacks (therefore would need a sedative or an alternative). After this, her nurse came into her room giving her lectures about if she doesn't cooperate, they will just send her home. I've witnessed myself a lot of what went on last time she was at this hospital. I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. This place would honestly be the place that would have a patient dying, while they don't even care to notice. I would not be shocked at all if this happened there already. They make you just sit around for hours. No nurses come around, no Doctors. Instead of figuring out the issue so the patient can be in and out, you'll be there for days. I will most certainly be looking into pursuing this with a higher up administration. It's one thing to be busy and what not (which I understand) but neglecting and talking badly to patients who have patiently been waiting, is VERY unprofessional. My advice: STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY from this hospital if you actually want decent care.
