The gentleman at the front were beyond unwelcoming and unprofessional. His interpersonal skills were non existent. When asked a question I didn't know the answer too, the one who was not helping me became verbally aggressive and intervened to repeat the question as if I didn't understand. He literally came around the booth to like "help" the other guy but instead looked ridiculous; literally yelling at me. The nurses were lovely but to have that as my first interaction was such a turn off. An apple a day, may keep the doctor away. However if you need to see one, this place is top notch!!! I've been with NCH for quite some time now. Started off in the Buffalo Grove office, but once I moved to Mount Prospect, I switched to the office there. So, I've been with Dr. Stefaniuk since ~ 2009. I guess you could say my money is where my mouth is on this review. Dr. Stefaniuk is fantastic. He spends time to truly listen to your problems when you go in. Asks good questions and then presents ample time explaining the diagnosis. I will continue to go here and hope to for a very long time. The support staff have always been pleasant and easy to work with. During Covid times, they had great protocols in place when coming in. All the times that I have, I never experienced any significant wait time (all under an hour from what I recall). If necessary, they have many specialty practices you could get referred out to. For example, I went to an ENT under NCH and was pleased with those doctors as well. I'm a little surprised to see a bunch of the 1 star ratings. Those all seem to be billing or wait time issues. I'm guessing you are going to have those type of complaints at all doctor offices/hospitals..... This review is for PA Jenifer, who works for Dr. Seidler. First, when I made an appointment I was not told that I scheduled with PA, not a Dr. Seidler. I was running late and tried to call the office but it was unsuccessful, callback came when I already arrived. I was almost 15 min late but PA refused to take me when front desk contacted her exactly at 15 min after the appointment start time. Second, I was lied by the front desk. First, that PA already took next patient, then I was told that PA already left and that they called me to confirm where I am. No one called me. Very bad experience. read more

Having behavioral issues, as we all do from time to time? Let's face it, our cars break down, our computers break down and for the love of God, we are only human. But, if you are in the middle of a Anxiety attack or your other personality decides to show up at all the wrong times, do not, I repeat do not waste your time here!! Last February I used this facility as my blood pressure was really, I thought high... so I used this clinic. At this time, I was given Prescription for 10 pills. At no time did I ever ask or imply to the Provider that I wanted a controlled substance! And at the end of my visit last year, I received a "Today's Visit" and in this summary of care it states, "if unable to follow-up with Primary MD may return here at the Immediate Care" This year, I didn't receive a discharge paper as I was surprised at the providers rude and insensitive remarks to me.... My treatment plan, there is the door!!! Go to the emergency room with your behavioral needs! I went to an urgent care. Cost is extremely high. I went to DuPage medical group. Got the same service through a actual specialist and paid far less money. It was $700 just to see a doctor at urgent care. Contact urgent care sites before hand, if possible to get an estimate. They charge a facility fee that is very high. read more

I got a call from NCH in Mt. Prospect to have an X-ray taken. They told me they had so much time available on the day I wanted to have this done. When I arrived I had to wait over an hour...this is with an appointment! People who came in after me were being seen one after the other during the whole hour. It was crazy! Nobody could tell me how much longer I had to wait. So I watched the receptionist do her online shopping on her computer while I just sat there. Finally I couldn't wait any longer and just walked out disgusted. It appears from other reviews that I'm not alone is the way this place services patients so poorly. Just do yourself a favor and avoid the Mt. Prospect location altogether. read more

Of course, it's flu season and I'm having pain in my right side, so I called my office and they couldn't take me but also don't do imaging, so I wanted to try to avoid the ER. Upon coming in, I was told how long the wait was, and knowing I needed care, I was kind of shocked. The lady at the desk had short curly hair and glasses and said "you staying or going??" To which i replied, do I have a choice?? I'm here for care.... and she said, "yeah, your choice is to stay or go." Like it was so unbelievably rude! I'm now waiting, 40 minutes into my two hour wait, and I don't know how this office is still in business the way it runs. I've had mixed experiences at NCH. I thought I found a GREAT primary GP - in the beginning she would really listen and took my suggestions for medication (trying ones that worked for me in the past) into consideration. However, when I began having constant headaches this past February, she was insistent that the oral contraceptives I've been taking for the past 15 years were to blame. She wanted me to discontinue them, and I disagreed. She also pushed for a CT scan, though I explained I was uncomfortable with that and preferred an MRI. She refused to order one, so instead of battling her (it had reached a "CT scan or nothing" stalemate), I went back to the neurology practice I'd seen in the past for my migraines. She got something right, though: one of the medications she started me on was approved by my neurologist and I'm still taking it now. I REALLY liked my GP at first, but was completely disappointed in my last experiences with her. I felt like she had just left me hanging without taking my feelings and opinions into consideration. Had I written a separate review earlier, it would have been 2-3 stars. Fast forward to today: I've had a severe sore throat that's progressively gotten worse over the last few days. ("Severe" as in, I-Just-Want-to-Die Severe. Not trying to be dramatic, but really!) Needless to say CDH (Central DuPage) Convenient Care dropped the ball and told me there was nothing they could do for me though my symptoms became progressively worse. So I went to NCH. Thankfully they were able to get me in about 3 hours after I called! So, I saw Dr. Ghuneim. He took one look at my tonsils, told me they was severe, and that he would do something to help me. (Ohhhh, what a relief!) He did a physical examination (liver and spleen) to ensure I didn't have Mono. He had his nurses do a blood test for Mono and swabbed 3 times for Strep: 1 for a quick test and others to send out to another lab for standard testing. They weren't follin' around! Dr. G. told me he was sure my issue was bacterial (NOT viral as CDH claimed) and prescribed antibiotics. I can't even explain the relief I felt knowing that I was getting SOMETHING that would help me feel better. Like, I wanted to give this man a serious bear hug! I am SO relieved at the prospect of feeling better soon, and Dr. G. explained they'll still call in a few days to follow up on me and tell me the results of the second Strep test. *PHEW* THANK YOU, Dr. Ghuneim! read more

I leave this Cardiology Office at 199 Rand Rd. an overall 1 star rating. Dr. Devin Mehta is my cardio Dr... I saw him once and also sent a few MyChart Messages to him.. I have had in the past and still have a problem with my Pulse Rate being more elevated than a normal persons. To the point where it gets quite elevated walking.. I've had a Holter Monitor Test. Stress Test where you walk and an Ultra Sound on my heart in 02.2022.. Mehta saw nothing wrong.. Told me to walk more and briskly.. I did.. felt lots better from elevated pulse rate.. able to walk on treadmill 30 mins a day.. Now .. since this past December problem is back.. I am getting a strong vibe from MD like he just doesnt feel its serious.. but this is not what my Heart Rate n Chest feels like.. like I'm bothering him and his nurse with my issue..Receptionist also behave like she doesnt even care. Go to a cardiologist that is going to respect you as a patient and take your symptoms seriously.. MDs often make mistakes in their thinking and judgement calls.. I will not bother with this NCH cardiology Office again. I need help for this pulse rate.. I need to know why it's doing this.. not your lack of concern because you think it's nothing..just keep an eye on it is what he says. Well.. I want a 2nd and 3rd opinion! read more

2 complaints, had a complete physical this year, my 2nd one with this doctor and I am not asked to get undressed. How to you do a physical with your clothes on, no breast exam preformed, i do self exam but my drs always checked to make sure all was okay for something i might miss. 2nd complaint, I tested positive for covid and called then to let them know and over the counter cough meds were not helping and my ribcage and stomach muscles hurt from the cough. The nurse called back and said either a script would be called in or a televisit would be done, i said thats fine. I waited until 630pm for a call back to do a televisit since no script was called in and NO CALL!! They were closed and I was unable to get/reach the on-call dr because their phone systems said the line is busy and try back again, I DID FOR 30 MINS! Their after hours available is USELESS!!! I saw Dr. Hyim Baronofsky on March 15 to get orthotics, paid the payment and the co-pay. He then told me to pick up the orthotics 2 weeks later, when I came up, I had to pay again... For what? That's like ordering an Amazon package, then paying for it again when you have to pick it up... This makes no sense. Billing department blows. They bounce you around back and forth and come back to the same conclusion. Since I had an appointment.. to pick up something I already paid for... I had got my chest x-ray done at this place. The lady at the front desk had a very bad attitude. She just didnt care to answer the question which I had. No smile from her and she is like you need to sign this consent that you can be billed upto $1000 which can be potential out of pocket. She also charged me $20 as a copay for getting an x-ray done which shouldnt have been the case. I did get the copay refunded back after like 4 months but overall her attitude was BAD.. I love my doctor- but unfortunately, I have ongoing issues with the front desk team, and a several of my doctors nursing assistance. The following staff illustrate, uncaring, rude and procrastinating customer service skills. See EX: The receptionist/front desk team is rude and curt, and worst of all, they do not pass on messages to your doctor or staff. Unaccabtable to say the least. ~The Nursing staff assistance's do not handle prescription refills properly, nor does their "Request Rx Refill" gal, leaving you without your medications for a day or two, finding yourself with monthly headaches of phone calls pleading for prescriptions just to fall on deaf ears to have their staff play the blame game on your pharmacy, etc, along with Ignoring your requests with no acknowledgment or an apology with consistent lame excuses with no immediate action to correct their error, and sadly, still no refill of your prescription without a fight. Shameful and not to mention, dangerous. These examples occur 96% of the time. This issue has yet to be corrected and still continue to date. If it weren't for my Doctor. I would switch. It's very sad to deal with such unnecessary sloppy ignorance, especially from a medical group- whom you would expect to be professional and caring. They clearly don't take customer service and medication seriously. This is why NCH Mt. Prospect received a 1-star review. *NCH, please rethink your team. I've been to this facility a few times. Once for my daughter who was sick and needed to be seen over a weekend when our pediatrician's office was closed until Monday and a couple of times for myself for bronchitis and ear infection. The doctors seem good and professional and I have always felt like they did a good job. The office is clean and the staff is courteous. The wait times vary a lot depending on when you go. On the weekend when I took my daughter, it was very busy and we waited quite a long time. I didn't mind - I was just glad that we were able to see a doctor that day. Another time I was there on a weekday evening for an ear infection and I didn't have to wait more than a few minutes. It's a walk in clinic so sometimes it's super busy and sometimes you might get right in. read more

This place is a nightmare, I came here with my wife because she needed a physical for her new job. The front desk ladies were so awful I couldn't take it anymore, I had to go wait in the car. Very rude and snappy, they even accused a customer of lying after one of them messed up and refused to apologize. Very immature and that's not how you treat people. I am shocked these women still work here and haven't been fired yet, I was only there for 30 minutes and their behavior was clearly in need of disciplinary action. I give this place 3 stars for the following: ***Reviews are for the immediate care AND billing department. Pros: Doctor on call and nurse was attentive and professional. Took care of my husband and I when we both came in sick with the stomach flu. Now onto quite a few cons...: The front desk lady although "nice", was giving out wrong wait times and we ended up waiting nearly twice as long as she stated. The biggest con of all is that when receiving my husband's and my billing statements, we both got charged differently YET we both were being treated for the EXACT SAME THING! Both got the same treatment, same IVs, same meds put through the IVs, same doctor, same nurse, the only difference was they put us in separate rooms. How in the hell do we get charged DIFFERENTLY!? My insurance company also thinks it's sketchy, so I called the billing department and spoke to an obnoxiously rude lady (unfortunately didn't take down her name). She talked over me as I was explaining the situation and how it all didn't add up and she told me all I can do is write a letter of dispute. And she repeatedly told me, over me talking, that we must have gotten different treatments. Well of course you're going to say that, you are an employee of the place BUT YOU WEREN'T THERE. And I wouldn't lie and make a big deal out of this when I've been billed and paid in good faith many times before with NCH group. The money difference between my husband's bill and mine isn't very significant (thank goodness for insurance) but it's the principle of the situation, and we are going to get to the bottom of it because that is NOT RIGHT to take advantage of patients and put in BS billing codes to alter prices between two individuals who were treated for the same thing!! This is infuriating and the fact that they act as if they can get away with over charges is ridiculous. The fact that I can only write a letter in hopes to get through to somebody instead of talking to a human being is mind blowing! In these situations, they should video tape the entire treatment to show who is lying or screwing up the billing codes! read more

If it were possible, I would give the facility negative stars. First, I needed an x-ray and then a follow up MRI in order for my doctor to prescribe the appropriate course of treatment of a nagging and painful issue. I went to NCH Medical Group in Mount Prospect because it was convenient. What a mistake that was... First, I had the x-ray done and was assured my doctor would have it within a couple of days. After waiting a week and not hearing anything, I called the doctor's office and was told the x-ray was never sent over. Next I called NCH Immediate Care at Mount Prospect, at first they had no idea who I was or what I was talking about. After a couple of calls, I finally found someone to help. When I mentioned my doctor was at Advocate, they said that would be why the x-ray wasn't sent. I was told that their computer system had mysteriously stopped sending to Advocate that week (the previous week it had stopped sending to Alexian Brothers). Fortunately, the person that was helping agreed to fax the x-ray manually. Next, I needed an MRI as a follow up and the doctor's office send the order to NCH Immediate Care at Mount Prospect thinking I would want to use them again. In order to avoid any further delay, I was in some pain, I just went along. That was a mistake. I made an appointment specifically at 1:00pm on a certain Tuesday due to this being the best time for me due to work. I had to schedule the appointment two weeks out to get this time, but it was the best I could do, so I waited. When I arrived at NCH Immediate Care at Mount Prospect fifteen minutes early, I was initially told that I didn't have an appointment at all. After further checking, they said my appointment was at 2:00pm, not 1:00pm. When I attempted to explain that was not case since I'd deliberately made the appointment at this time, I was essentially told too bad, so sad... Didn't I know the man in the MRI at that time had just had a triple by-pass! My first thought was: really..., why are you telling me this? That's all fine with me, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm supposed to have an appointment now and have rearranged my schedule accordingly and you've either intentionally (as in bumped me) or mistakenly messed it up, so now I'm out of valuable time ($$$) and you're telling me to simply sit down and wait. In fact, the receptionist/registrar (Patricia) was quite rude about it. Behaving as if I were being extremely unreasonable, especially since "...man in the MRI at that time had just had a triple by-pass"! Again, what? He didn't just have a heart attack and this is an outpatient facility, not an ER. And again, how is this relevant to my situation? Clearly it was simply an effort to deflect the obvious, they messed up again. Seeing I was getting nowhere with Patricia, I asked repeatedly to see a supervisor or manager. After a long wait, Patricia retrieved an RN name Liz. I thought perhaps she may be more reasonable and even if there wasn't much that could be done, some acknowledgement of their mistake and understanding of my situation would be forthcoming. Oh how wrong I was... She was actually worse than the receptionist. While I was speaking with her, I began to count off the logical progression of events on my fingers by gasping my index finger to begin with one. Liz immediate went off and accused me of pointing my finger in her face out of anger... Really? I thought I was simply and calmly making a point. I then told her we were done since she was clearly attempting to cast me in a negative light and put me on the defensive, even worse than the receptionist had done, and I walked away. She followed and continued. I asked why she would clearly attempt such an obvious trick and she mentioned something about the watching the news. Which is fine, there are many terrible stories on news, but what has that to do with the current situation? Again, nonsense. At this point, the MRI tech came out and rescued me. I really didn't want to have anything done here at that point, but I had been in pain for weeks at this point and just wanted to get this over with, so I went ahead with the MRI. Never again... This place is horrible. We'll see if the MRI ever makes it to my doctor's office. Do yourself a favor, STAY AWAY! read more

What was most memorable and disappointing was how rude and arrogant he was on the phone. We needed a little kindness and understanding and what we got was a BIG ATTITUDE with NO COMPASSION! He told us to rush my 89 year patient (and dear friend) to the hospital and then didn't bother to call and inform them why or when we were coming. He told us it could be life threatening but then didn't want to interfere with the admission process by informing them of urgency of the life threatening matter. Therefor he was admitted with a "sore leg " instead of a possible blood clot due to medication changes and hospitalization the previous day. His refusal to make any effort was extremely disappointing. He showed no care or concern for the urgency of the matter. He stated he was just "on call" and knew nothing about the client therefor it wasn't his responsibility to call the hospital and inform them of the incoming patient. However he didn't hesitate sending us there "IMMEDIATELY".
