I went for the…read morefirst time last year (every woman should have a baseline mammogram at age 35, and then yearly starting at 40). Pretty terrified, actually. I've heard that mammograms are excruciatingly painful. And, sitting around in that stupid hospital-issue gown (with black socks!) doesn't do much for your dignity. But let me tell you -- the technicians put me at ease right away. Very friendly and explained the procedure step-by-step. The breast compression, while not comfortable, proved not to be the torture I'd imagined. The tech went slowly, and said she'd stop if it got too painful for me. (Staffers even entertained my infant outside, since she wasn't allowed in the room) When the x-rays came back inconclusive, they called right away and asked me to come back ASAP. I started to freak out, but the woman explained that a lot of women have dense tissue that requires a closer look for the first mammogram. Thankfully, I got a clean bill of health. My next appt. is in a couple of weeks. Now for the public service announcement: ladies, go get yourself checked out. You don't have to come here, just go. It's not something to dread. The discomfort is momentary and in the big picture, this could well save your life.

Tonne Drive (off of 62) and head South...the offices are located in a complex, it is not a stand-alone office. Just like most men, I'm scared to death when anyone talks about doing anything with "the boys". Met with Dr. Dragomir Jovanovic in Arlington Heights and he explained the procedure, the method they use and the potential, but rare, side effects that may occur. A week later I was having my vasectomy done and it was amazing. I was given a generic form of Valium half hour before my procedure. You will receive a prescription for it at your consultation. You may require two, btw. I was scheduled for 11:30a, so I went water only for the AM to ensure the drugs worked. Dr. Jovanovic has relaxing music playing and his assistant Keith both prepped me for the procedure. I literally felt a slight...slight might even be too much...pinch as we began and then nothing. Dr. Jovanovic asked how I was during the procedure, to which I replied "fine." 20 minutes later, I was done. I put my pants back on, left with my after care instructions and was out the door at Noon. Yes, 12p. SOMEONE WILL HAVE TO DRIVE YOU HOME! I got lunch immediately upon leaving and felt great the rest of the day. I could have gone to work following the procedure if the meds didn't make me so groggy and if I had a desk job. I took two Tylenol Arthritis (650mg each) after lunch, two at dinner and I have felt zero pain. This morning my wife and I looked for the site of my procedure and neither of us could find anything! So far, so good... I will update as needed, but if you are worried about having this done, this was by far better than the stories I've heard from my friends about needles, scalpels, sutures and burning flesh. Take it from a long time listener (and caller BKA Government Fromage) of The Score, the ads are legit and I am a satisfied customer.

I note that there are many AMG offices (with associated Yelp reviews) located around Chicagoland, but I can only speak about this one. We are very pleased with the services, staff, and the facility itself here. Our PCP, Dr. Ellen Aleksandrovich, is the best and she is very competent, caring, communicative, proactive, and empathetic to the patient's needs. AMG's systems also work great and responsively without long waits - systems meaning phone call answering or followup messaging, their PA staff, their website which is used for both medical info storage as well as e-mail messaging, their billing and payments system, their appointment scheduling, their lab appointments system and staff, etc. They also have several specialists based here that we see, and they have the same support system. We routinely get bloodwork and sometimes imaging done here at Nesset Pavillion. AMG is in turn associated directly with the excellent Advocate Lutheran General Hospital nearby. One of the best things with being part of a group is if your PCP happens to not be available on a given day, another doctor or resident or possibly a PA can step in for an urgent matter and they have all the info they may need at their fingertips. If needed, they can also refer you to one of their immediate care clinics in a Walgreens and I have used that service to get a quick anti-biotic prescription following a quick strep throat test without need to see a PCP. Before using the Advocate Medical Group for a PCP, I had a one man shop PCP, and who happened to take Wednesdays off, and it seemed I always needed him on a Wednesday so he was never there without a few days delay when I needed him, pfft! He also occasionally had suspect billing practices and that was the straw for me. He was competent though, but whatever on that aspect. In our experience, it's a big thumbs up for the Advocate Medical Group staff here at the Nesset Pavillion as well as the facility itself.

I'm really happy with the NP I'm currently seeing. I've seen the other reviews for this clinic and most complain about the staff up front. They aren't the nicest, but as someone who works in healthcare, I understand that some of the patients they deal with are rude and stubborn. That being said, although the receptionists up front aren't the absolute friendliest, they've always been cordial and respectful, not rude or uneducated. Sometimes the wait-times for appointments through the phone can be long and they'll ask you to leave a message, but they always call you back within 20-30 minutes after you call. I don't know of any hospital/clinic that accepts public-aid health coverage that doesn't have long-wait times for phone calls, as well as for actual appointments. Hospitals like UIC and other clinics like Advocate also have ridiculous wait-times, and it's because they accept Medicaid and Medicare, which brings a lot of patients into the clinic, and not enough doctors to see everyone on time!!

I got Dr. Berger and Dr Berger is a walking malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen. Time: First of all he is chronically late. Nice guy but I had to wait 2 HOURS AND 15 Minutes to see him! Ludicrous. The nurses say you just can't talk to him and that this is how he is. Two other patients were waiting with me and all of us were flummoxed as to how long it took him. It took so long that I had no idea my 1pm doctors appointment would interfere with my 5:15pm appointment. So I had to get my ekg the next day! I also had labs to do. Originally Dr Berger sent me upstairs to get my labs and didn't sign the correct order (signed the order for the in house lab). The lady upstairs looked pretty confused and then she asked me if I had fasted. I said no. She said I needed to do that (which is what I've always already known). So I went downstairs to tell him and he said oh ok. Oops. The bottom line is this. I had to refuse my EKG portion of my physical because I ran out of time. I had an online 5:15p appointment. My doctors appointment was at 1pm. Sink into that for a second. The next day I went in for bloods and was scheduled at 10:15 am. The girl in the lab didn't show which I'm told happens fairly regularly. The EKG happened right away (this is DAY 2 by the way) and then I needed to wait on a signature from the doctor to get my blood test and I waited three hours. He was supposed to come in at 11:30a a d didn't come in until 1pm. Dr. Berger just Joe's the give a f*ck! It's unnerving. I had the poor guy in the room next to me mention that his mother had dialysis but he had to take her to and he was waiting on the doctor. We were all waiting on the doctor. This is a malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen this man is completely irresponsible with his and everybody else's time and gives literally zero regard. If you have Dr. Berger, just be ready to be there all day waiting for him to finally decide to saunter in on his own free well. And apparently because he's a doctor, not even the manager can say anything. So this guy just gets to do whatever the hell he wants with zero consequences! I've never seen anything like it in my life and after being a Clinical in Associates Follow Los 15 years I'm never going to see it again. By the way, if you want to see what death on earth looks like, simply go into their lobby! Picture Kmart fluorescent lights on a deep dark purple along with purple seats from the 1990s for people to sit on and wait. The Secretary at the front having literally the most monotone voice that it's comical. The whole place is a disgusting nightmare. I've complained about the color scheme since they moved in and so has everybody else but apparently the owner truly just doesn't give a shit. He doesn't care that the doctor is not taking care of patients, He doesn't care about the color scheme or depression among staff or nurses who say they can't say anything to anybody about anything. It is crystal clear that Dr. Arvind Patel, the owner could give two shits about any of this and that in fact, he just doesn't care at all. My father is an independent physician in Michigan. I wanted to continue to support this group after the untimely death of my doctor at CAMS. But I can't. I no longer believe that they are professionals.
