Please bear with me as I explain the history leading up to our interaction w/Dr Park. As 2022 comes to a close we have so many things to be grateful for. 2022 was a very tough year for my wife and I in so many ways. She had many health issues that required hospitalization on 3 or 4 occasions. The main cause was diverticulitis & UTI's that kept reoccurring & causing severe infection & pain. It became apparent that the diverticulitis wasn't going to just go away. As is the case during her last hospitalization there were so many interns, residents, doctors & specialists that came to see my wife in the process of determining the issues & what the best course of action would be. It's very frustrating having everyone & everything coming into her room. All the specialists urologists, radiologists, infection control doctors & colon surgeons (Dr Park). Dr Park is a very knowledgeable, likable & personable doctor that took the time to explain what needed to be done to prevent the continuing bouts w/diverticulitis. He said surgery should be done to prevent these reoccurring bouts. He performed the surgery back in November of 2022 & as of this date April 12 2023 there haven't been any reoccurring bouts with my wife's diverticulitis. Thank you Dr Park for a great job. The front desk receptionist were quite rude. I did not appreciate how they spoke to older individuals. I expect front desk receptionist to be understanding and friendly and they were not. I waited an hour for my visit and expressed my urgency for another appointment I had and they still wanted to charge me a $25 late fee. I understand patients take longer and may need more time, I was willing to reschedule. Doctors were nice. read more

Dr. Park is an extraordinary doctor. His credentials are extremely impressive and are matched by his sense of decency and compassion for his patients. I consulted with Dr. Park following an emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction. My life was literally turned upside down overnight and I yearned to return to a sense of normalcy. It became clear from our first meeting that I had found an outstanding and brilliant colorectal surgeon to guide me through this tumultuous process, and that Dr. Park would settle for nothing less than perfection in his approach to my case. Dr. Park explained the process and details regarding my surgery with great clarity, and he was always very patient in responding to my long list of questions and concerns. Whenever any issues arose between appointments and I left a message with his answering service or left a comment on the patient portal, Dr. Park would respond immediately. That in itself is such a rarity nowadays! Dr Kochar is my doctor, he is the best surgeon ever! Especially when you are going through a lot this man will always help you understand your issues and he always looks for a solution and never brushes you off as many doctors do. Dr park is also very good too! Both great knowledgeable amazing doctors. The office staff needs some help lol ... the ladies at the front desk are nice and the medical tech person is always super nice love them all. It's the office manager ... that woman needs a new job she's nasty as F. Otherwise I love this office and the doctors. read more

This practice was recommended by a friend and honestly Dr. Kochar was very understanding of my issue. The girls at the front desk are very nice they got me into see the doctor as soon as possible. I'm a self pay so I spoke to Amina their billing manager and I don't know why she's gotten the bad reviews she's very understanding she gave me a discount for the office visit. The practice itself is wonderful , honestly don't know why they have some bad reviews people just want to get free services. read more

Excellent doctor. Horrible billing department. Sent a check for full payment and am still waiting for it to be cashed almost 3 months later, even after 3 phone calls from me complaining about it. Billing person was short with me on the phone claiming that they're very busy and are unable to go to the bank. I wonder if the doctors are aware of how their billing department is run. If the practice is rolling in money, just stop charging patients for services and fire the billing person. read more

God forbid if you or a loved one needs a Coral Rectal Dr./Surgeon you won't find a better one then Dr. John Park. Since Oct 12, 2011 when my Dad got colon cancer until today Oct 12, 2017, 6yrs later Dr. Park has saved he's life 5 times (Yes 5 times). Just last year Sept 8th, 2016, I had to rush my Dad to Luthern General Hospital ER, with 2 ER Dr's and 4 nurses working on my Dad and 1 of the Dr.'s came and told me "Your Dad's not doing to make it, I'm sorry." I called Dr. Park and even on this man's day off and downtown Chicago in an medical meeting he left it and came straight to the OR to do my Dad's emergency surgery because his appendix blue and he's body and blood stream was highly toxic, since the appendix blew 4 days prior. Once again Dr. Park saved my 86yr old Dad life beside we've never had a Dr. who cares so much about he's patient's like Dr. Park. We don't know how he functions as well as he does by putting in 12 to 14 hours a day, because you can see him in the hospital at 6 in the morning and then again at 6 or 7 in the evening on the same day. Not only does dr. Park care deeply about his patient but he cares just as much for the patient's family, and I ought to know because I'm a 50 year old daddy's girl and I never had to worry about any of my dad's five major surgeries as long as I knew doctor Park was there. I promise you you can't get better than dr. John Park. God works miracles through dr. Parks hands. Not to mention that his qualifications are very high. read more

I owe, Dr. John Park, my life. I mean that in a very literal sense. If it weren't for his meticulous, skilled and successful surgery to remove the very organ that was trying to take my life, I wouldn't be here today. Since the day I met him after my rectal cancer diagnosis (not an easy thing to go through as a 29yr old female) , I have felt a sense of comfort, compassion, trust and respect. I felt safe in his hands and he didn't let me down. He came highly recommended to me by my GI specialist and I couldn't be more grateful for that recommendation. Given the situation of needing 13" of my intestines removed, an ileostomy, and then a reversal of that ileostomy, he helped me stay positive and he talked me thru each step as it came time with empathy in his voice and actions. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Park!!!! I went to see Dr. Park when I was near the end of my rope in dealing with a medical condition. I had seen another colorectal doctor at a different office before seeing Dr. Park and I was just so discouraged. I had been livIng with extreme pain from the problem and I thought it was just something I was going to have to live with for the rest of my life. Dr. Park has been a godsend as well as his entire team. The level of professionalism and the way Dr. Park puts the patient's concerns at ease are unparalleled. He listens intently and never makes you feel as though he is rushing to another patient. He was able to repair my problem and I am now living pain free. I can't thank him enough changing my quality of life. Esther, his surgical coordinator, was also able to answer any questions I had along the way and got back to me in a timely fashion with anything I needed. Having had the opportunity to be seen and treated at different times by both Dr. Park and Dr. Marecik, including my endoscopy for diagnosis, my surgical procedure, and subsequent follow up visits, it is clear to me that this practice is second to none! Both Dr. Park and Dr. Merecik were very generous with their time and explained fully what was going on and what the plan was to correct the issue. Both doctors are compassionate and very thorough in their diagnosis, which ended up being spot on. As a result of the help of Dr. Park and Dr. Marecik, I am feeling better than I have at any time over the past fifteen years during which time I was saddled with countless other physician visits that proved fruitless. Adding to the excellence of these fantastic physicians is the very friendly office staff who made sure to get me in for my appointment and seen on time. I will start off my review stating I always read these review with a grain of salt. And for every bad review there has to be 10 good reviews that no one writes. But after taking that all in I really just want someone to read this and be aware that this could happen to you. Or this review could get read by the Dr. and he could have a chat with his Biller/Office Manager to make sure this never happens to one of their patients again. Or he could just not care at all because he has enough patients and it doesn't matter to him what one patient thinks this of him or his staff. That being said I would never go to this office and see any of the providers that work here. I also have to say that I work in the medical field for the past 15 years and I have never treated someone the way I was treated, nor have I heard of someone being treated the way I was by the Biller/Office Manager. My husband was seen by Dr. Prasad in June of 2014 the bill was a bit large due to our deductible so I split the bill in half and made two payments after receiving the first bill in July through our online banking tool (like most people today). The last payment was due in the office on 9/2/14. The last I heard from this office was the August statement that I had already setup payment with our bank for. Like most banking institutions once the check is cut from your account and is sent the money is taken out of our account so at a quick look it would seem the check had been cashed. On 11/3/14 we received a letter from a collection agency that this account had been placed with them. We owed $43.86 more than what was originally owed to Dr. Prasad's office because fees had been added. I was shocked because I had never heard anything from this office about the account being past due. This is when I looked up my check online to find that the check had not been cashed yet. I called the collection agency who was very nice and said it had been placed with them on 10/29/14 and that I should speak with the biller at the Dr. office if I still had an outstanding check. I called her on 11/4/14 and gave her all of the information that I had from my bank about the outstanding check and that I would fax everything that I had to her office for her to review, and to make sure I was telling the truth. I explained that I would be happy to give them payment immediately for the original balance due. This was just a whole series of errors that had occurred and I wasn't trying to not pay our balance. She said she would have to speak with the physician in the office and call me back. She did and informed me that there were keeping the account with the collection agency. I then asked if she had read the information that I had sent to her and she said no. I told her that I would be informing our primary care physician who referred Dr. Prasad to us. The Biller/Office Manger told me to "do whatever you have to do", so I did. I left a message for my PCP explaining the situation. My PCP then called me back one hour later to say that she would not be referring any patient to this practice anymore either because of the way she was treated and she was sorry that she couldn't help more. I then spoke with the manager at the collection agency and told him what was going on. He asked if I could fax over all of the info. that faxed the Dr. office so he could review it and to call him back in two days. I did that and was informed that this account should not have been turned over to collections but that Dr. Prasad's office had to say that, and remove this account from his agency. Until he heard back from the office he was going to put this account on hold so that it would not end up on his credit report. I made numerous phone calls to the collection agency from November to January all with the same reply from them " we are still waiting on a answer from Dr. Prasad's office" I finally just gave in a paid the full amount including the collection fee because I know that the biller/office manager is never going to give them an answer and I just want to be done with this. I know that this review is very long winded and I am still very angry about this situation. I take responsibility for not making sure that the check cleared. I had assumed that it was paid I used my online bill pay to pay ALL of my bills and this was the first time that a check was ever lost in the mail. But the complete disregard for the proof that I did try and pay in a timely way and that when our physician called to help smooth out a problem they also had no respect for her. That just showed me that this physician has so many patients they are just numbers and dollar signs to him. This office does not care about the person. This just makes me sad. read more

This office is beyond,amazing friendly and knowledgeable.From the moment you call to make an appt the staff is very informative making sure my insurance is taken,they are very detailed when it comes to helping every step of the way with directions and easiest way to get into office.Once you have a consult with the doctors they are all amazing and have very good bedside manners!I enjoy that they take their time and make you feel comfortable.I was able to take my father in as well as a self pay patient and the billing manager was willing to work out the best priced options for us,that fit our budget.From the front desk,to billing manager to coordinators they were all very attentetive and informative,the staff really knows how to put their patients first and make you feel welcome.I would recommend Dr.Kochar and Dr.Park as they are very good and have heard the best of them!Def. looking to recommend to my family and friends. read more

I saw this doctor back in 1998 and all was fine. However, I saw him again this year 92012) and though the doctor is a nice man, their office practices need work. I was not informed of a procedure I was charged for (by anyone in the office or the doctor), and the office manager was not a nice person at all to deal with. She laughed at me, REFUSED to let me speak to the doctor or give him a message among other things. Although I did not approve a procedure that was done and refused to pay for it, they sent me to collection. All she did was try to justify her viewpoint and ignored or defended only her viewpoint on anything I said. I have never complained about a doctor or doctor's office before, nor have I ever been sent to collection since I always pay my bills (and I'm not a young person). This was an unfair charge so I have my insurance reviewing it and also the state's regulation board for professionals. read more
