This is our conversation: Me: "Hi, I was looking to get a survey done on my home in Big Bear. Chris: HOW DID YOU GET THIS NUMBER? " Me: "I was given this number from my concrete contractor. Should I call a different number?" Chris: "I'm too busy for you to call my cell. Text me your information and I will send to my office" **I text him my address, email, name and photo of home per his request. He texts me back "My office will email estimate Monday" On Monday his next text to me is: "Call my office for survey contract" - so, I call his office. Me: "Hi, Chris asked me to call for my survey contract" (give her my name and address) Office Lady: "I don't know what you're talking about, I don't have a survey contract for you." Me: "Ulm, ok. I'm not sure why Chris asked me to call you." Office Lady: "I'm not sure why he did either. Anyway, we are so far behind, I can't get you a survey contract for 2-4 weeks. Also, I need your APN number. What is it?" (Rude..Rude..Rude) Me: "Wow, he asked me to call you stating it was ready. I'm not sure of the APN number bc Chris never told me I needed to provide you that or I would have it ready. Would you mind if I quickly looked it up?" Office Lady: "Sure, because I have all day." (she said that) I got off the phone because it was clear she was not interested in my business and Chris clearly didn't communicate anything with her. I texted Chris: "Your office girl was rude - you should have spoken to her before asking me to call her....." Chris calls me right away and this is what he said: (you can't make this stuff up) Chris: "Do I know you?" (he literally said this) Me: "Huh??" Chris: "Why did you call me?" Me: *totally confused* "For a survey...." (I'm thinking...is he on something?) Chris: I'm way too busy for this. Who referred you? I'm a busy man. You should have called my office to begin with. Why would you call my cell?" Me: "Chris, we already went through this. My concrete contractor gave me your number and I called it (big mistake) I had NO IDEA that there was another number I should have called" Additionally, he should of provided me that number at our initial phone call and I would have followed procedure. I explained that this whole experience has been a bad one and that I planned on leaving a review to warn off anyone considering using his extremely unprofessional and unorganized company. **He started yelling at me (yes, yelling). I never raised my voice once but quickly hung up on this crazy man. **He continued to text me a picture of other peoples survey orders and said "Oops, cant win them all" These survey orders had property owners names, emails, all kinds of personal information. Isn't there privacy issues with this? He was so concerned with his "dig" at me that he send me a pic of peoples personal information. I picked up the phone and called another survey company who was professional and organized. When looking for a survey company, save yourself time and look elsewhere. This man wasted my time. He will brag about how long he's been in business but I don't know how he's stayed in business this long with his unacceptable business practices. After all this - he had the audacity to email me the survey proposal the next day. Chris, I wouldn't use you if you gave it to me for free.

He said it would be possible to do it within my time frame (2 weeks). Then I called the company's office, paid the $700 deposit, and started waiting. I only got the PDF of the survey more than a month after the first contact. Moreover the CAD file, which is the most important document, was not sent. I emailed the office asking about it, but no one replied. Then I texted Chris to ask about it. First by text and then by phone, when he called me, I had the most unpleasant experience. He was very defensive and completely our of place. He started venting, among other things, that * The CAD would only be given after paying the invoice in full (which is fine but was the first time I heard it) * That his company is the best in the valley (said that at least 5 times) * That I should not bother him on his personal cell phone (his cell phone was the point of contact given to me by my realtor) * That he has over 30 years of experience and does more than 500 surveys a month. He then asked me if I was as successful as him in my own career (I had to explain to him that the discussion was not about my career) * and finally that I should call the office and speak in Spanish with them. I have an accent as I was not born in the US, but I do not speak Spanish. I wish Chris well, but it was clear that he was not in a position to run a business professionally. In addition to the Survey taking more than double the agreed time to complete, I do not recommend Environmental HighTech Engineering.

The initial experience was good, and John walked us through the expectations of the County, and helped us facilitate a noise survey and septic certification. After we did this, it all went downhill. Allegedly, the county had reservations about our proposed business, but then John started just not communicating for weeks on end. We kept getting told that he was "working on it", but the communication got less and less frequent. We got another "working on it" in May 2024, and nothing since. Here we are closing on two years and John still hasn't told us where we stand. Riverside County isn't blameless in this either, but we trusted John to get the job done and we are very disappointed.
