Despite not having an appointment, and them being short staffed, they reattached my plastic bumper liner that was dragging on the ground free of charge! I wanted to pay them but they refused. I am not local to this area but encourage you to support this business! And make an appointment when possible. Thank you Expert Auto Care! read more

One of the only few remaining mechanics I ever trust! First off, Christian the owner, is probably the most honest, humble, experienced & the most knowledgeable person you'll meet. I bought a brand new Lexus GX, Now; previously I've been taking all my maintenance & other needs to a Lexus dealer. After realizing I'm just dumping money away, I needed a solid mechanic that only stands by their work with quality but also knows what they are actually doing. Guys, save all your time and effort and go to this place. Not only Christian has saved my thousands but also he stands by his work! If he gives you his word, best believe it will happen! read more

I dropped in on Monday morning around 8:30 to ask if someone could look at my car because I was hearing a weird noise while I was driving, but no lights were on my dash. The nice gentleman working saw me through the window and rushed over to see what I needed. He said that because of the holiday weekend, that Tuesday would be better to make an appointment and he gave me the hours. At night, my brother took a look at my car and figured out my issue, so I actually didn't need to come back. But I called in the morning to let them know. And although I didn't need any work done, the shop looked very clean inside, and based on reviews and how I was treated when I walked in, I'd definitely come back if I run into any other issues with my vehicle. Thank you! read more

We've used Christian Walford's shop to care for our Mazda 3 for years and now our Subaru Impreza and Ram Promaster van. Christian is a Palo Alto native with deep roots in the local community, and he cares for our cars as if they were his own. And his location just across the border in Mt. View, just off San Antonio Road at Leghorn (on the way to Costco) is very convenient. read more

Christian and his team of technicians are amazing. They are exceptionally competent, honest, and attentive. highly recommend

I used Expert Auto Care once and never went anywhere else. They are a true gem, a place which is rare to find in the auto industry (especially for female customers!) Christian is especially nice, always willing to help! I'm thankful for all they do. read more

By far the best auto shop I've found. They had my car done so quickly and they go above and beyond for their customers. Prices are great and fair, which is refreshing after some of the experiences I've had at other shops. Beyond happy to have found an amazing auto shop nearby, and will definitely be getting my car serviced here from now on! read more

Christian was very knowledgeable and really took the time out to explain everything to me. He is a very honest mechanic. He let me know my options and allowed me to decide what I needed to get done based off of what I could afford. He made me feel welcomed and comfortable to ask questions. I walked away knowing that I was genuinely being helped. I plan to continue going back to him for any services needed on my car. Thank you Christian! read more

Best auto shop I've visited. Christian is extremely knowledgable and good at communicating. I would highly recommend choosing Expert Auto Care! read more

Friendly and professional. Easy to work with. They order Audi parts from Audi palo alto.

Amazingly skilled and honest auto shop. Extremely high value. I will never take my cars anywhere else.

Christian doesn't like money. I keep trying to make appointments and he keeps telling me how to fix it myself cheaper! He's like a hockey goalie, deflecting my car from the net! Someday soon, I will enter the hallowed halls of Expert auto care but so far his virtual repairs have kept the Jeep running perfect LOL Mark S. Mt. View read more

I had a bad feeling at the Anderson Honda dealership in Palo Alto that the assessment was dishonest, saying my car needed services that were totally unnecessary. Christian did a free evaluation and told me that my brakes still had more life in them, that I didn't have a true oil leak and that I could come back and get the valve fixed when I need spark plugs in the next 10K miles. I will not be going back to the dealership and will be coming here for future service! Not to mention, while I was there I saw that a customer had ordered a pizza for Christian and the techs working with him because they were so grateful for his honest service. We need more people like Christian caring for our cars! read more

Christian is just the best. I can always trust him to take good care of my car. Thank you SO much for being a reliable and trusted resource for auto care!! He even turns you away if there's nothing wrong with your car and gives you tips on how to take care of it. read more

We have a classic (yes, it's over 20 years old!) 2004 Subaru Outback. It's served us so well, including many trips down to Baja California Sur, through deserts and along arroyos. The perfect car for such trips, past and, hopefully, future. Seven years ago, our go-to Subaru workshop moved out of the area, and we've been looking for great auto mechanics shop ever since. We tried Subaru-only shops, and were disappointed. Search over! We've found Expert Auto. Christian was more knowledgeable about our Subie than even the Subaru specialists. They gave the car a thorough check over, found a few items, such as brakes, that needed immediate attention, and flagged a few others that could be addressed at a later time. I was very pleasantly surprised at the reasonable cost of the work. I feel that I could completely trust Expert Auto both to catch the urgent items and to make honest recommendations for longer-term maintenance. And maintain a meticulous record of the work done and the service schedule. I'm delighted to recommend Expert Auto Care and congratulate Christian on an outstanding service. read more

Christian offered to do a free pre-purchase inspection of a used car, even though I wasn't an existing customer. Found issues that the dealership "didn't notice" and gave great advice! Would definitely use this mechanic if I lived in the area. read more

The AC on my older car lost the ability to cool. Expert Auto Care recharged the system with dye for free. Just under a year later, it again failed (expected - the dye was to trace the leak). They diagnosed the issue and replaced a hose, all same day. Their labour rate seems to be par for the course in this area, but the service is very good. read more

Christian took care of me when they were very busy and squeezed me in. Reasonably priced service and you can tell they know what they are doing. read more

Christian is a class act. Walked us through what was wrong (brakes were shot) and made affordable and practical suggestions to fix. Much cheaper than other quotes and much faster too. Only took a day to fix the car. Liked the experience so much that we brought our other car. He found the sensor issue and suggested we didn't need to fix since it was cosmetic only. read more

The high ratings are well-earned. Christian really know his stuff. Give them a try. They'll diagnose your problem for free and give you a quality referral if it's something major and they can't do the work themselves. read more

I used Expert Auto Care for my Honda repair. Christian is very nice, and ready to answer any question. Great place, recommend.

This is the best auto shop in the area, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car but Christian. He's the most knowledgeable, honest, and generous mechanic I've worked with or heard of. I was scammed at another shop once, but I've never had to worry about that here. Our family was his customer at MPG for years, and we switched over to Expert Auto Care after AAA acquired the other shop. Christian always goes above and beyond; you can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and their cars. Quoting my partner who is a car guy "the car world needs more people like Christian." read more

Took 2 cars into Christian in 1 day. Very quick turn around time for oil changes. Always a very pleasant experience coming here. Christian is a very honest guy, and if your issue just requires something like re-setting a sensor, it is usually gratis. Highly recommend. read more

Christian is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I used to go to the dealership for service but now only come here. Highly recommend.

Expert Auto Care will be my new "Go To" for automotive maintenance and repair. Not only does the owner, Christian, know what he is doing, but he has the patience and courtesy required of someone in his field. I witnessed him explain in detail, with "props", an issue that another customer had. He was as detailed in his explanation with my car's issues. He provided a clear quote explaining the parts and labor costs that I would incur and had my car earlier than promised. The five-stars that everyone are giving him are very well deserved. read more

Christian is honest and very responsive. He did exactly what was needed for bmw x7, and with original accessories, well within budget. The official service center was recommending lot of unnecessary repairs. Expert's Service was better than expected. read more

The best auto shop I've every worked with! I found Christian when I was looking for a second opinion. Another shop had said an A/C issue couldn't be fixed and would need to be rebuilt, exceeding the value of the car. Christian and his team found something the other team had missed, and fixed it quickly at a very reasonable price. Christian is now my only stop, and always does exceptional work. read more

Honest, knowledgeable, kind, and reliable! I first went to see Christian at Expert Auto Care a few months ago because my coworker recommended him (she took her car to him when he was at MPG auto). I wanted a second opinion on a couple of items including whether I needed a new hybrid battery or not and some upholstery damage that mysteriously appeared. Christian kindly explained everything to me, answered all my questions, and gave me recommendations for services he couldn't provide. He's very knowledgeable about hybrid cars and was very efficient about replacing my battery. The price for parts and labor were on par with my research. Now, it's a few months later, and I needed a smog check for the DMV and an oil change. He gave me a referral for the smog check and completed the oil change in 30 minutes! I've made an appointment via phone and through the website--both are easy to do. After requesting an appointment through the website, Christian personally emailed me a confirmation. A good mechanic is hard to find, and I'm always happy to support a local business. Plus, this one contributes to great causes like the Make a Wish Foundation, and Christian is an active member of the community. Highly recommend! read more

Was visiting from out of town. Needed a warning light checked on our car. Christian responded quickly to our website inquiry and made a prompt appointment. It was a simple fix. Just needed air in all four tires. He didn't even charge us. So kind and so professional. Definitely recommending to others! read more

I thought I needed the undercarriage splash shield of my car repaired, but they told me they just re-attached it and charged me nothing, asking me to just "think of [them]" next time. They very easily could have charged me something for "labor," and chose not to. I will definitely be coming back if I ever need anything for my car. Shoutout to Christian for the fantastic service. read more

Christian and his team do great work and are very honest and fair. Highly recommend them

Hey guess what? My 2012 Fiat 500 is running great for once! Just because of Stress Free Auto. I am sure I will see you soon. Thanks for your business times 100! You guys are the best! read more

I really can't express my gratitude for Christian and his honesty. I'm blown away. Do not waste your time with other repair shops like I did. I spent $1300 at another independent shop for them to give me a quote of $11,000+ for repairs and making me feel horrible and like my car would fall apart if I didn't repair it with them. I went to Christian for a second opinion and he told me I needed none of it, fixed one of my AC issues, and charged me for an oil change.... That's it! In addition, for the repairs he wasn't able to help with, he gave me recommendations to shops that could help. I went from being scared of going bankrupt over $11,000+ for repairs, to spending way less thanks to Christian and his help. I wish I could pay him more for his services as you don't come across this type of service everyday, he's earned a customer for life. Thanks again!!! read more

Christian is the best! My 2012 Honda Pilot needed a new knock sensor. What impressed me the most were his deep knowledge and comprehensive explanation of the issue, as well as what needed to be done, a very reasonable cost estimate, and same-day turnaround. Everything was done according to the expectations that he set, and he kept me well updated. He even gave me recommendations about how to prevent the problem in the future. All-around excellent customer service. Bravo! read more

Expert Auto Care is the place to go for car service and repairs. We have been taking cars to Christian shops for the past 15+ years and the service is world class. I just took my Ford F150 in for some service/repairs, Christian called with a diagnostics update, clearly explained next steps and cost before proceeding with work. In short: honest and professional service at good value. read more

The service at Expert Auto Care can't be beat. We've been taking our vehicles to Christian and his team ever since he was at his prior shop. He's professional, knowledgeable, thorough in assessments, and great at explaining both what needs fixing and why. There's no one better. Thanks, Christian! read more

I had my 2024 BMW towed to Christian's shop. The next morning, I called him, and within a few hours, he diagnosed the issue: the alternator, battery, and belt. By the afternoon, my car was fixed, and I picked it up the following day. This is my second time having Christian work on a car. The first time was on my fiancée's Honda starter. I was extremely worried the night before, having my car break down and needing to get it towed. Fortunately, we were serviced by Expert Auto Care. They were incredibly responsive, offered reasonable prices, and explained complex car technical concepts in a way that was easy for me to understand. I highly recommend this shop. Thank you again for your excellent service. read more

Christian and his team is hands down top notch and professional, finding a honest mechanic is like winning the lotto, you will need to establish an appointment, and it may take weeks even months, but they will deliver and honest quote with recommendations that are needed. I was told by two Ford dealerships that I needed over 3-4k of work done and recommendations that were not needed after Expert Auto Care looked over my truck. I saved a tremendous amount of stress and money taking my truck here, you will not find a shop as knowledgeable and experienced as Expert Auto Care. read more

Due to theft issues with Hyundai's nationwide, I noticed someone had attempted a break-in to my 2019 Hyundai Elantra SEL, completely removing the keyhole on the driver's side door and damaging the door handle. I left a message with Expert Auto Care and Christian called me back quickly. Christian spent time explaining what would be the best course of action for fixing my car. He recommended I reach out to a Hyundai dealership first, for a variety of reasons that he discussed with me. I respect his honesty and integrity. After ending our call, I decided to call him back and schedule my routine service. His professionalism and customer service speaks volume about how much he respects his clients. read more

There are not enough good things I can say about Christian and his team at Expert Auto Care. I called right before a holiday weekday/weekend [July 4], and he was able to fit my van in when I had an emissions system warning came on the night before. Christian fit me in between his other clients on an extremely busy day to get my van checked out so I could go on my trip and help ease my mind about the error on my van. I have been in the Bay Area for 3 years and am so glad to have found my go-to mechanic from now on. I have been to many others around the area, and Christian has had the best customer service. His shop is extremely clean, and you can tell he takes pride in his business. He can do oil changes on all vehicles, so no job too big or too small, it seems for them! I highly recommend Expert Auto Care for any and all repairs and maintenance. He has the skilled labor and the heart that a great business needs. Thanks Christian and the team at Expert Auto Care!!
