I'm not sure who is leaving 5 star reviews here but I find it very hard to believe that all these people have had great experiences. We have been in several times, largely due to the proximity to our house and the turn around time with the iphone screens, which we break a lot. Two of the 3 phones that we have had repaired there have had issues with touch sensitivity shortly after replacement. But you get what you pay for, half the price of the apple store and same day repair most of the time. Their willingness to work gets an A+ but a solid D for workmanship. So, my son threw some water on my wife's Macbook. We took the machine in and paid for a water intrusion cleaning, or something like that. So they clean it, power it on and apparently some damage occurred at that point, which cascaded into a multitude of issues costing us a couple months, parts totaling close to the price of a new machine, and a lot of data lost. I made the assumption that along with cleaning some amount of testing would go into the machine before it was powered on, to ensure it was safe. Obviously that was not the case, I guess that level of commitment or skill isn't present there. But oh well, would've never happened without the water so it's hard to point fingers. The laptop still glitches often and is nowhere near the condition it should be in for the "services" performed. Even with this I thought a bad review wasn't worth my time and maybe I had just over estimated the capabilities of this store. That brings me to now. My daughters phone screen crapped out, which is one that I had replaced by them some time ago. We have a hand me down system at our house so that phone is on it's 3rd user, no surprise its on the way out. I decided to crack it open and see if i can find anything wrong visually. I spent some time working in micro miniature circuit repair and analysis so I am somewhat competent. So I checked the ribbon cable and looked around a bit, guess what I found? Two tiny screws laying in the phone loose. I know it wasn't me because the screw type was different from the exterior case screws. I am not at all saying this was the cause of screen going out but the lack of attention to detail and care astonished me. It's bad enough to not reinstall some of the screws, but to leave them rolling around in the phone. So you finally got me Experimac, I had to write a review. I would not take a phone, computer, or anything else they claim to fix there. I can appreciate they have fixed some peoples products, and they have mine a couple times as well, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. Is it worth the risk? No accountability or care put into your devices and that is both sad and scary. Please avoid them folks, go to the Apple store or take a chanse somewhere else. read more

Hey thanks for waiving the $99 diagnostic fee. It really softened the blow for trying to charge me $499 to install a $198 screen (and that's the retail price an average citizen would pay) and then trying to tell me the extra cost was for the labor. I realized that was a load of BS when the owner (I'm guessing that's who he was) told me it was a job anyone with a screwdriver could do?!? Wtf guys? You are all really nice and you knew my situation and I know my personal tragedy is not your problem. You are running a business and this ain't UNICEF but, COME ON! If you do right by others it will come back to you ten fold. I just wanted my computer fixed to I could make a living again and start healing. It wasn't my friend that cut my hair man! It was my Mom's friend hahaha! I look good bald too. I was mad because what I was told on the phone was different than what happened when I came to the store. They fixed my MacBook Pro and saved me $450! Here's how the story goes. Last week my wife and and I traveled out of state to shoot a wedding in Alaska. Upon arriving at the house apartment we were staying at I decided to pull out my laptop from my backpack to transfer some videos from my phone to my Mac only to find my computer drenched in water (apparently a water bottle leaked in the bag on the way from the airport to the house). It was not turning on the whole trip. Once we got back to the Woodlands I booked an appointment at the Apple store (two days later because it's all they had available). I go in on a Thursday and wait for 30ish mins before I even talk to the tech. He takes it to the back to look at it and then returns in 10mins saying that the whole computers internal parts have to be replaced because the water damage looks pretty bad. He quotes me $755 to have it sent out and repaired, which was about a week turnaround. I tell him that I need to check with my wife before sending it out and he said that's fine and emails me the notes on the diagnostic. While he was in the back I was googling other computer repair shops in the area and find these guys. I double check the google reviews with what yelp had on them and decided to request a quote for the repair. Not even 5mins after I requested the quote and before I had even made it out of the mall, the owner Matt messaged back with a $99 estimate for the water damage cleaning and diagnostic. We decide that it's best to bring in in and talk in person which I do the following morning (Friday). Matt was super nice said they would try and recover my data while they perform the clean and diagnosis. He was very clear that this was not a for sure fix but I thought it would be worth a shot and the data recovery attempt was worth the $99 to me. I leave my MacBook with them around 11am and head back to the Woodlands. About 2-3 hours later, one of the techs, Cody I think it was, calls me and tells me it was only the battery that was damaged and quoted me the price to replace it ($160ish plus the $99 cleaning fee). I give them the ok and they call me back about 2 hours later saying it is operational and ready to be picket up (4:30ish). I get there an hour later and pick up my fulling working computer, which had all the data intact! Apple: $755, a week turnaround (plus 2 days trying to book the appointment), and a possibility of loosing my data. Experimac: $300 and less than one day turnaround! I will for sure use Matt and his team at Experimac again if I every have any issues with my Apple products in the future. Legit business! read more

AH-MAZING experience! I highly recommend Matthew and his team. I needed to get an iPhone for my son to be connected to his Apple Watch, but I didn't want to spend a small fortune on a new phone for him. I called Matthew and explained to him what my intentions were; I basically needed a phone that wouldn't really be "used" and that I simply needed a phone to connect to the watch. Matthew was fantastic! He took the time to explain to me the models that wouldn't work for what I was needing and why they wouldn't work as well as gave me suggestions on options that would fit my needs. Never once did he try to "up sell" me and I never felt pressured. In fact, he encouraged me to take my time in making a decision. When I arrived at the store (2 weeks later) the sales rep who assisted me was very helpful! Hello :) I do not write reviews but I had such a great experience with Experimac and I wanted to share with all of you! So if anyone is writing a bad review about this business, they are having a BAD DAY! Do not, repeat do not listen to anyone who is complaining about Experimac! My husband arranged to have Matthew from Experimac come to our home to work on my large Mac computer in my office, my Mac laptop and my iPad. The appointment was on a Friday morning at 9am. Matthew was on time, very pleasant and professional! I had neglected to keep all 3 of my computers from functioning properly and I knew this would be an extremely difficult task for Matthew! A few hours later, Matthew recommended to take all 3 computers back to the shop with him. My computers needed so much work UGH! everything was messy, no new updates, running slow, over heating, over saturated with too many files, just complete chaos! I mean everything needed to be cleaned up and basically start from scratch! I even needed a new and bigger hard drive for my larger computer. Matthew not only worked all Friday afternoon on my computers, he worked into the evening and all Saturday morning to get this all done for me:) He brought back all my computers Saturday at noon and took me through step by step and showed me all the work he did. All three of my beloved Apple computers are running fantastic! Its such a pleasure to be able to sit in my home office with my Mac computer with no issues. My laptop is for my kitchen and I can do absolutely anything on this computer and even prints documents from my printer on the second floor. My iPad is working just like new! Matthew even pulled all my bookmarks (we are talking a couple hundreds) and they are all now located in all computers. My photos, documents, emails, contacts etc are accessible from each computer. My whole life is on these computers with endless amounts of personal and professional business accounts. It was very difficult for me to let Matthew walk out the door with my life lol However, I would do it again in a heartbeat and I will call up Matthew again! My experience was not what I expected. They replaced the iphone screen when I had water damage. They were courteous and nice and had the phone ready when they said they would. As it turned out, after weeks of having a phone not responding to the touch pad on various occassions, I called and they said to bring it back in. They confirmed that it was the screen and fixed it... Meanwhile I was working off a back up i=phone. We worked on an issue with email access I had on my original iphone for over an hour... somehow, they were able to resolve the situation. Then when we went to sync the phone they had fixed, I was told that all the work we had done was for "nothing" since we would have to reconfigure and it would take an hour to get all the info off the temporary phone back to my primary phone. Two hours later- I return with no phone service this whole time and they tell me "Oh, I needed your I Cloud password".... professional or not~ really! I would not recommend this company to anyone. I actually purchased an ipad and an ipad cover. The cover does not work- the ipad falls out on a regular basis and the owner told me that it was because there were only two places to connect and I was not connecting the cover correctly .. i told him this was unacceptable and it was an "oh well" situation. I took my phone not connected and my merchandise that I purchased from him ... He said..."Sorry you are not happy with our service".... No need to help me... Sorry! After bringing my phone to a "not so professional" to simply replace screen on a perfectly working iPhone, I got the phone back dead. For a small fee, Experimac politely shared the sad news that the phone was thoroughly diagnosed, and damaged beyond repair. Lesson learned...leave the technical work to the professionals. I can't say how grateful I am to Experimac! I brought in my 2010 IMac because Apple would not repair it since it is considered vintage. Matt opened up the computer and determined it was the graphic display. This would be a $300 repair. Since, the computer was 8 years old, we decided it was time for a new one. After pricing new ones, we went back in Experimac to consult with Matt because he is so knowledgeable and trustworthy. While we were there, Matt had a gently used iMac, with a thin screen, for sale. He made us an awesome deal, copied over all my data, & let me have the cool keyboard with 10 key numeric pad! All this was completed in the same day! Not to mention, he took our sick computer as a trade in! Not only did we save $$$, we were treated as a family member, not a number! Their fast, friendly service is worth more than 5 stars!!
