Well, I can't say I'm going to leave a good review based on first impressions. The tech (Jesse) that came out was not professional in appearance, nor did he fix or make effort to replace anything. Just said the main card is out and I would have to recontact my home warranty to get something going. Well, no shit Sherlock, I already figured that motor burned out or the card was bad, I was looking for a repair. Beside telling me my card was bad and that he doesn't have any, how about ordering one or calling the home warranty and discuss a replacement version or anything else than the 15 mins you were at my house and then bailed. Only after you had me turn on/off the switch like 7-8 times did it finally make a "pop" noise. Come on man! I've had plumbers and electricians out before and they run up to somewhere, say Home Depot or a contractor's warehouse, grab needed items and return for the repair or replace. Service was only made worse when I called AHS a 4 hours later and the customer service women said she had not received anything from the tech! Not impressed I'll give it that. Maybe he's been outstanding in the past, but I clearly got him on a down day. On top of which he took my light bulbs with him and said I need a $695 new Wi-Fi system, but he'll charge me $195 to lube the tracks and wheels (that's bullsh*t because I had it serviced by a local company when the spring broke in February, so the wheels and track were already done at that time). read more

Through our home warranty service we requested service on our garage door. We were assigned a visit by the vendor Exit Garage Door. We live in a gated community and we left the name of the company at the security gate to allow entrance to our property. According to Exit Garage, the security gate did not allow entry as they weren't listed for access. We checked with the guard gate as well as the "app" we use to add visitors and the company Exit Garage was listed to enter our community. The guard at the gate shared that the incorrect information was provided by the vendor which resulted in no entry into our community and no call to us to verify the vendor's authorized access. We contacted the company Exit Garage and they immediately threw the security guard under the bus and would not turn around to return to our home to do the repair. The guard gate would have called us to confirm entry if there was a problem with access but no call was made to us, again incorrect information was provided to the guard. When trying to speak to Exit Garage, they became very defensive, confrontational, blamed the security guard was rude, guard would not work with them and Exit Garage would not reschedule the visit. I have never had to deal with such rudeness and we took the time to obtain both sides of the story, which tells me the vendor's employee was not very forthcoming on what transpired. Actually grateful they did not work on our garage as it may be a sign of shoddy work with no care by the employee to do a good job. This business does not care about customer service!! We filed a complaint with our home warranty company about this vendor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EXIT GARAGE DOOR for service. read more

On 06/07/2018, our home warranty program appointed Exit Garage Doors to fix our garage door that wouldn't open. We were told that it wouldn't be covered by our warranty program because the screws came out of the wall that holds the track in place and had nothing to do with the motor. The repairmen put a metal bracket on the wall to secure the screws holding the track back on. He also stated that the door had to be balanced and a higher horse power motor was needed. However, the motor is fine and has been in perfect operation for years and was an unnecessary, uncomfortable sales pitch by Exit Doors to increase revenue. The repairman made it appear that this would be a labor and time intensive process and managed to complete the job in 5 MINUTES for $375. This charge is excessive for the value received. Proceed with caution. read more

Do not ever use this company. The technician came to my place after I filed a claim with American Shield Home warranty. He broke the wiring to my garage door sensor, then told the insurance company wiring damage is incidental and had my claim denied. I filed a claim with my Hazard Insurance company and this is who they sent out. Guy walked in, looked around and said only the openers were covered, nothing else. Then he went on to tell me, wheel replacement ($50), new strut ($95), new garage door seals ($100), etc. I have a three car garage so a couple of the prices I looked up I doubled. George asked me for a $200 deposit and said he'd return the following week, he also said he'd give me a cash discount; total estimate was $1500.00 I did a bit of homework after he left and turns out the parts he was looking to get would be maybe $300 That means $1200 for labor & drive time. Our garage door opener did not work when we came back after being away for the summer. Called American Home Shield, who we cannot normally count on, and they sent Exit Garage Door out. At first Jessie said if we went thru AHS it would take four weeks. He then took apart an opener he had in the back of his truck. He had removed it while installing a new one before us. He took out the circuit board from the one he had just removed and installed it in our unit. Took 10 minutes and works perfectly. We were very happy not to have to wait four weeks. I called him he came out the next morning and had the problem fixed in 30 minutes, he had to install a second spring, all new wheels, and rebalance the door all with in 30 minutes I was impressed. Just I word of caution I have a home warranty through American Home Shield, I placed this order through them, they only cover the motor not the door, I explained this to the warranty company, but they did not inform me of this and proceeded to charge me a $75 dollar fee, so keep in mind if you contact AHS they only pay for the motor, don't get stuck paying the $75 dollar fee like me. read more

This company was contracted by my insurance to repair a garage door. They contacted me promptly and we scheduled an appointment from 10:30 to 1. In order to make this work, I had to get to work early, move meetings, cancel meetings, and leave work early. They called me at 10am saying that no one was answering the door. I told them that I was about 20 minutes away and should be there in time for the 10:30 appointment window. They left. I called the insurance and told them I wanted a different contractor. The insurance called Exit and was told that they couldn't do the appointment today. The insurance then scheduled me with a different contractor. At 10:55, someone from Exit showed up and I had to tell them that the insurance had already set me up with a different contractor. I can't attest to the quality of their repair work, but I can tell you that they cost me a lot of time and money. Bad communication and customer service. Since some guy did show up later, I assume that they can actually do the work. The guy that showed up looked professional and was courteous. The whole problem can probably be traced down to one person in the office that wasn't careful enough to communicate the correct appointment time and wasn't able to fix it with the insurance company. The guys in the field are probably ok. If I were that business owner, I would take a hard look at the person scheduling appointments. They cost the business at least one job. Since it went through insurance, I'm sure First American isn't going to be too enthusiastic about using them again either. read more

Jesse was the most rudest and obnoxious point of contact when I called for my 76 yr old mom. They installed a new motor for her last year and it's completely not working due to a broken spring and chain being off track. After inquiring why such a high quote for equipment they installed he was very agitated and demeaning in the way he talked to me. He really had no idea what he was talking about to me or what they had installed for my mom. His last words were...send me a picture and hung up on me. I'll follow up on the service I get from his technician George. But Jesse should not be allowed to answer the phone on a Monday morning. After waiting 4 days to have our garage door looked at, the technician spent all of 3 minutes, did not explain the issue to us fully or give us any options, told us the broken spring wasn't covered by our home warranty and when I asked him to wait while I confirmed coverage with the insurance provider, kept saying "I gotta go, I gotta go." As I was on the phone with insurance, he got in his truck and took off. He was horribly rude and arrogant. Absolutely horrendous customer service! The warranty company assigned Exit Garage door, they took 4 days to service our door, then came out, later than the estimated time and we unprofessional. Of course our garage door worked then, but the technician told us that we just need to buy one ourselves because our warranty would not cover it. He said he could replace it but we would have to pay their company directly. After calling my Home warranty company, the would indeed cover the cost of replacing the garage door. I have used Exit Garage Doors now about four times with the same excellent results each time. My mother in law needed a repair done on her door and called a large company that you see advertise on TV. They showed up and convinced her that she needed a new opener and reinforcement work done for about $3600. I told her to hold on and called George at Exit Garage Doors to come and give us a second opinion. He was very honest and said it's just a sensor and had one in his truck. He charged her $100 and she was over the moon happy that she did not have to spend $3600. My door needed work after the Santa Ana winds hit it pretty hard and bent one of the panels. George came out and was able to fix it without me having to put in a new door. These guys are honest, they work hard and they don't break the bank when you need springs replaced, a new opener or a simple fix so you don't have to buy a new opener. A bunch of people who are dishonest and dont want to do the work they are paid to do. I was told my sensors were gone and it would cost me an extra 100 bucks to replace them while I was at work having my brother sit in my house to wait for the appointment, came home that night and my sensors were still there but they didnt want to do the work to set them up( took me under an hour to do it myself) but it was part of the job they were paid to do...then my garage lights wouldnt come on anymore and found out they unplugged my remote receiver to plug in the garage opener(garage opener was out for about 6 months and had been unplugged) when I went to plug the remote receiver back in I found that they had stolen my adapter..confronted the company about it and nothing is being done......a bunch of ghetto people working here, if you want homest work go elsewhere!!!! read more
