This was by far my favorite place to come for a quick takeout that is closeby when im traveling this way visiting my family. The popular potato dog was my favorite. In 2017 it was $2 then it went up according to the sign $3 either way thats fine but the lady charged me $4 on the sign it still says $3. I questioned her about it and didn't mind her charging the extra dollar( but it was the purpose of not being right) but when I questioned her about the amount not changed to $4. I gave them three stars because their pulled pork is really good. Their sauce is just repackaged Sweet Baby Ray's which is arguably the worst sauce on the market. Their sides are also nothing to write home about. Don't expect much in the realm of customer service either. They are running a food truck, so speed is the name of the game. Place your order and move because they do not want to talk to you. Also, don't go right after you've washed your car. They are situated across from a truck stop in a limestone gravel lot, so your car will be dirty inside and out when you leave. Finally, call before you go. They are rarely open at normal meal times since the truckers are their primary client base. But, if you can catch them actually open, the pulled pork is great. read more

ok where to start. I've had better BBQ from a crockpot. Thought this place was supposed to be one of the best around, only to be severely disappointed: understaffed, had to send two of the bbq plates back because there was so much fat and gristle, you just couldn't eat it. Then this guy walks in extremely rude. only to find out he's the owner of this nasty establishment. they do not have bathrooms but if you have to go and don't mind, they have been kind enough to at least provide you with a Porta potty but just as one would think nasty doesn't begin to describe it, Try walking in behind one of those truckers that visit the place blowed up don't begin to describe it eat at your own risk. Can't believe I'm writing a 4-star review for this place: a trailer in a truck stop parking lot! But I may have had the best breakfast sandwich (or as they call them in these parts: biscuit) from this BBQ stand. Hickory smoked and all! I stopped by the night before to tell them that I needed 30 biscuits at 6am the next morning. When I showed up in the AM, they were just finishing up putting them in a box for easy transport. Both have a fresh bun and a fried egg, not that fast food style egg. What makes them special is the meat, the bologna is fried and 3/4" thick. Absolutely the best bologna sandwich I've ever had. So we elected to skip Memphis BBQ for Jackson's fare and we were not disappointed. The service was really fast and friendly. My wife and I each had a rib plate (one spicy and one sweet) and both were excellent. The rib meat was tender, juicy and well balanced by the sauces. The cole slaw (on the sweet side) was good, but the beans and potato salad really stood out. As indicated by others, the portions were sizable and made for a full meal. Dining by the road at one of the picnic tables was rather unique. A nice change of pace from loud restaurants. We would highly recommend this stop if passing by on I-40, especially if you are in a big rig or RV - due to the ample truck parking. Might even be worth a bit of road trip. read more

Omg. My husband drives a truck and suggested we stop by here for breakfast while on the road. I admit I questioned his decision for breakfast at a BBQ food trailor/truck. I. Was. Wrong. We both ordered a sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Just freaking wow. The sausage was the size of a hamburger patty and super tasty. The egg was perfect and cheese was melted nicely on the toasted hamburger bun. I would snap a picture but yeah it's too late for all that. I hear the BBQ is just as wonderful. There is no indoor seating but there are 5 picnic tables for outdoor dining when weather permits. Oh...and there is a pig with a wig, shades, and panties. Go snap a picture. Plenty if parking if you drive a semi. The only reason to pass up a Hardee's breakfast. (There is a Hardee's across the street). Go on now. Pick up some food. You will be glad you did. read more
