My last visit here, I was none too impressed with Remy and his team. I was in fact very disappointed with their service model because my dad is a regular here (we're German car enthusiasts, for good reason ;)) I took my newly bought (to me) 2001 Audi A4 in to pry the hood open after the interior release latch came loose from its spring. Needless to say, I was devastated! After nearly taking apart and putting back every loose nut and bolt without success, I handed it over to Remy to see if he could work his magic on the hood. When I got the go-ahead to come pick up my baby, the problem was not fixed and he had charged $1000 in parts and labor for other parts that he had deemed needing replacement. Wait, WHAT? Now, fellow Yelpers, I understand this is an older car-- and a model with a reputation for pricey upkeep-- that's not what bothered me. Okay, maybe it irked me a little... HOWEVER, how the heck did he get that darned hood open?! and why would it now not stay open? WHY was my radio now in antitheft mode?? The whole initial purpose of my trip to this specialty mechanic had been for naught! (Aside from the replacement parts; I agree that work was necessary given the original state of my car but it still hurts my wallet thinking about it) Here is where I admit I went wrong: I drove off the lot without ensuring I could also pop the hood with ease. A few hours and several confusing, flustering phone calls later, I brought my car to the lot to have the owner demonstrate to me just how they got my hood open. Even later.... read: a team of five men, many squished fingers, brute force, plus my boyfriend and I trying to compress the hood latch, the stubborn beast popped open. And Remy explained that the hood would still stick, but require some elbow grease to pry open. And gave the excuse that my radio was set at anti-theft because the team had needed to take out the battery to replace a part. (Huh?) And the only way to unlock my radio was to call the dealership and for a nominal fee, Audi would look up the code for me. (Double huh??) SPOILER ALERT: We were able to reset the radio FOR FREE after locating the code inside the auto manual and the sticky hood latch was fixed with a simple tightening of a bolt with a wrench within five minutes. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the service model I received this time around, especially for the inconvenience it caused for all parties involved. read more

I had an issue with my audi and since I work in Milpitas, I thought I would give this place a try. Its located amongst a mass of other auto body shops and parking can be a bit of a hassle (tip - just pulled right up to the garage, they can tell you where to park your car in the mean time) Remy, the main mechanic was great. As soon as I pulled in, he gave me immediate attention. Most places charge you $50 - $100 just to do a diagnostic test - He did it right away for free! He stated that he would not clearly know what the issue was until the engine was completely cooled. Unfortunately, that did not happen until around 7pm. Once he diagnosed the issue, he gave me a call and that the car would be ready at the end of the day, the following day. That part was a little inconvenience, but I managed to work around it. Once the car was ready, I picked it up with no hassle. My car seems to be running fine and there is 180 guarantee on the labor. I will definitely go back there to get my car serviced. read more

I was here for a brake job for my 99 VW Passat. This is the first time I've gotten my first car serviced. It's tucked away into a charade of repair shops in Minnis Circle. I usually wouldn't trust 'just-another-repair-shop' in a repair shop lane, but keeping my faith in a friend's recommendation, I visited this place to get a quote. Given all the skepticism associated with repair shops, I seemed to trust this place. My car was back in shape within 6 hours and ready to go. I had to take an apointment and they had issues giving me a ride to/from my workplace 4 miles away. Reasonable prices, friendly faces, and honest service. read more

This guys is great! This is the second time we used his service and both times he redefined our expectations. He took out at least 40 minutes of his time to drive my wife back to work after she dropped off her car. The work he did was high quality: exterior damage was fixed - car looks like new - the bumper that was damaged is now sturdy holding strongly together. Price was very good. read more

I've been coming to Exclusively German for about a year and it is one of the better repair shops that I've dealt with in a long time. They do good quality work, but most importantly they are honest. I have always gotten a feedback of what needs to be done and what could wait (most shops will usually try to present you with a long list of problems they want to fix so they can run up the bill, but not here). In addition to that, the price is very reasonable. read more

I heard that Exclusively German is now owned by Avin's Auto Center. They should've honor the warranty for the work that Exclusively German did in my car. I brought my car at Alvin about 4 or 5 months but they said they don't honor the warranty. Exclusively German worked on my car. Paid $1000 and they did not do anything. Few months after i heard they closed down. read more

I took my car here for a 120k inspection. The inspection was very thoroughly completed and every aspect was discussed with me, allowing me to ask any questions about problems with my car. Extra work was also completed for fixing a turn signal for no charge that helped me greatly. The work was completed very quickly (within a day) and updates on my car were given regularly. I highly suggest this mechanic. read more

Last year spend $300 for Engine oil replacement, power steering fluid, coolant top off, Cabin/ Engine air filter replacement in Exclusively German. They spilled the power steering oil all over my Engine, it leaked oil in my garage, later I found out 1 screw of the Cabin air filter was missing and the Hex bolt and the isolation element rubber was gone missing also, the Mechanic forgot to screw it in correctly. This was a terrible experience. read more
