This is more for local if I had to guess I would say drug users so if you're not into that lifestyle, I don't recommend it. and although the food was good, I will never return back because of the disrespect from the DJ, which was unnecessary and very childish to say the least. hope this helps someone looking for a nice established lounge to visit. It was a cold night and they were efficient in getting everyone in safely and were knowledgeable when providing menu recommendations and setting expectations. The venue does provide a more intimate setting. There is more standing room than seating. So be aware of that when you book gen admission vs. any premium or VIP package that may be offered by the artist/venue.

They had about 5 beers to choose from all of which I would never ever drink nor would anyone else in our group which is saying a lot because we all have pretty diverse tastes. All of the beers were like $18, even the garbage beers. I expect that price as we pay $19/beer at the hockey games but the arena offers a great selection. I'll pay $19 for a good beer. I saved lots of money at The Underground since they don't have any beer worth drinking. The bartenders at the bar on the left were not friendly and not interested in answering any questions. We ventured to the bar on the right and a few of us ordered mixed drinks.

This little bar has brought in a fabulous cast of DJs, even a non edm person like myself might recognize. Even more amazing is the setting in which these people perform - right next to the crowd. I was so excited personally to to watch Darude play a set only a couple feet from my face but also to snag a picture with him after, which is a common occurrence at Serj (many DJs stay after for a few pictures). They are also an outstanding venue that attacts a diverse and accepting crowd. For Charlotte this is truly a gem.

We came for a house music show on a Saturday night, on the earlier side to check everything out. The bouncer and security staff were super nice - they were hospitable to everyone in the line as far as I could tell. They didn't really pad us down but we weren't wearing any baggy or loose clothes or had bags with us. I assume security eyeballs guests and makes situational calls. The inside was spacious and clean. The bathrooms were always attended to. The floor was a bit sticky initially but i think that was fixed before crowds rolled in. When some people spilled beer, the staff immediately came and cleaned. We felt safe with security staff in eyeshot. The music reproduction quality is OK; I think the crowd has a tendency to talk loudly and the volume should be balanced against that, but for the headliner, everything sounded great. Could use more emphasis on higher than bass frequency, but I'll take a solid bassline anyday. I did not feel the need to wear earplugs like some NY venues, probably due to the smaller size of this one. The lights are awesome, if a bit on the intense side since they are just above the stage, aimed at the floor. I would wear sunglasses next time to give my eyes a break. The bartenders were quick and attentive. One issue: they tried to swipe my chip-cards to open tabs (we tried a couple) and those were blocked by our banks for security purposes. Those cards should be chipped for payment gateway acceptance - hopefully the point of sale can support that. Closing each tab everytime worked fine, though, and the bartender did not embarrass us with the decline card response - we noticed others at the bar had the same issues. The outdoor space is super nice. Everyone was dressed casual but clean - and no one smelled bad or was unfriendly/aggressive. We will definitely continue coming back here for performers we like - please keep bringing in great house and techno producers!

They pick and choose who they enforce rules on -- personally, I've gotten free shots from the bartenders while other people get punished. On top of that, there's tons of underage drinking, with underage girls getting into the club with zero issue, and I even heard rumors about human trafficking connected to this place -- completely insane. After we paid $10 each to gain entry, a lady came to me and asked if there was a problem. I had no problem but they might have a problem. I told her I was there to enjoy my time. I didn't need that attitude to destroy my good time. (Today, they had female security officer to search female customers, male to male customers now. I believed it started a few years ago at the other nightclub with latin music in Charlotte, a male security guard search me into my coat and I strongly complaint about that was totally inappropriate.) It was FIFA game time Argentine v Switzerland. I did enjoy football game but our purpose was to latin music for salsa dancing. There were two ballroom dancing floors, one big and one small. A few bars for drinks. Full of security staff. I felt I had entered a place with mafia. Nevermind, I knew how to handle problems if there was. After a little while, the DJ in the small ballroom played some bachata music that we dance bachata, then there were more merengue, after midnight, there were mostly music for reggaeton. There was not even one music for salsa. If you are looking for salsa dancing music, this is not the place. If you just want to look for real professional salsa/bachata/tango/chachacha social, this is not the place. Go to those social party organised by salsa latin dancing studio such as Rumbao Latin Dance, RW or Afincao for their monthly social. If you are just looking for a super loud noise to numb your nerves and get drinks, sure it is right for you. You can't even talk with each other. The music stopped at 2 am. Everyone would leave. One last thing, that $10 cover charge is for standing only, if you want a seat, there were tables $70 & $90 each. There are a few food trunks outside at the parking lot.

They have a pretty awesome and inclusive bar menu everything from top shelf tequila to your usual Miller Lite, I think they have some THC drinks and some ready to drink can cocktails. Prices are on par for Charlotte. Parking is always issue so you'll probably have to walk a long ways or get an Uber. I'm really glad the owner of the trio in Charleston decided to open the spot in Charlotte. There's always plenty of restroom stalls in the women's restroom and it's always been clean when we've been there. The employees have been really respectable and nice each time we go even though I'm in the over 50 crowd, I don't feel judged when showing up at an EDM event to dance for four solid hours.
