Venue was easy to park near and the show was on time and Great. Love that Amos' is still the spot to welcome home local talent. We saw The Thurston Howell Band. It was Yacht Rock at its Very Best. Featuring some Charlotte Locals. So much fun and the band was absolutely Amazing!!!!! Go support this local joint. And make sure to go follow the band. So Good.

Very nice music venue with some great bands on the schedule. Can buy reserve tickets for stools on second level. You're very close to the bands. Great employees .

For the first time I visited this concert venue on Monday for a show and it was great. It reminded me of the Belly Up in San Diego (Solana Beach). There was ample free parking 2-3 blocks away and it was safe. The venue allowed reentry with a stamp on your hand, so that was convenient. I liked the rock n roll posters on the walls and I used to have some of them like the Led Zeppelin one. They also had posters of Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd, Beastie Boys, NWA, Colbie Caillat, The Beatles, Woodstock, Pink Floyd, etc. The bathroom was surprising clean when I peed. It was easily accessible too. I spent most of the show upstairs because there was more room and it was less crowded than the floor. It provided a good view and enough space to breathe and relax without getting in anybody's way. The staff working at the venue was nice and on the same page. I'd be happy to return and experience another show some day. It was only $18 too.

Amazing from start to finish. The staff was great and we had an amazing time because everyone was so easy going and accommodating. We had food delivered since the restaurant was under renovations and shared with the staff. It's the best place to catch a concert.

Amos' Southend is a two story concert hall that showcases a variety of local and national musical acts. See their calendar online for upcoming events. The bartenders are very quick and personable even when it gets pretty crowded and the stage is very accessible. You can see the eyebrows, toenails and fretboards of your favorite artists. If you like to stay out of the fray you can hang out upstairs and see the main stage just fine. If you like being in the thick of things, the area in front of the stage (the pit) is small and separated from the stage by a railing. The liquor selection is spotty at best. And this is not a great venue for dancing as the entrance is right alongside the main stage area and there are sound booths and other things chopping up the floor where I think most people would naturally dance. But this may be a safety measure since it is a fairly large building. Hence only 4 stars, but it's a good venue all around to see a show. There is absolutely no seating, so wear comfortable shoes.

I'm so sad this place is going to be closing down! I've been here several times and can't believe I haven't done a review yet. I've never had any issues with parking. Going in and paying is simple to do. Drinks are easy to get. The venue isn't fancy but it's great for a concert. You can chill downstairs or go up stairs and have a nice view of the whole place. I'm gonna miss it when this place is gone. :(

Millennial! Was at their show on 4/4/14

I too, was surprised with how much I liked this venue. Came here on 4/4/14 to see Millennial (if you haven't heard of them, do yourself a favor and look them up). Amos' is much bigger than I expected, and there's really not a bad spot to stand/sit in the house. There is limited seating, very few tables, so be prepared to stand. The website is VERY helpful with parking. I'm glad I checked it out. There seems like there's a lot of parking, but some of it is two zone - red flag! I really enjoyed my time here, loved seeing the band, and the drinks were pretty good. (Check out the specials, and you'll be good to go). There are a ton of places to eat on south blvd too - so make a night of it! (And yes, bathrooms are dingey. Go before you get here.)

I appreciate Amos because it books different types of music. It's a decent sized space. However, if it's a popular show you'll have to get there at least an hour or two before doors open to be up front. It's a busy street so there's a lot of traffic while you're waiting. Thankfully there are food places within walking distance so you can grab a bite while you're in line. I appreciate the staff. They were courteous. The bartenders are fast and are able to serve a lot of people at once which is helpful. The venue is wide open with few seats. It's like a lot of music venues that size. Depending on where you are, it can be difficult to hear the band. I was near the front for the opening act and heard everything near the speakers. When we went closer to the back for the headlining artist, we could barely hear. Granted, we were there to see the opening act so it didn't matter ;) Overall I would come here again.

The ambiance early in the evening is relaxed outdoor seating needs to update the benches they're not comfortable and the woods starting to warp but, decent music, and a solid cocktail menu. It's the kind of place where you can actually hear your conversation and enjoy the atmosphere without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. However, as the night progresses and the vibe shifts into more of a "clubby" scene which ended up being a perfect combo but let's talk charges.. feels steep for what's essentially a modest venue without standout features. Drink prices were high like the cover but not in a way that reflects upgraded quality or service. For the area, there are other spots offering more for the same price or even less but with cozy comforts and inside seating, nicer facilities so it's easy to find things not to love if you come here to support a DJ friend like I did than pay the cover and mingle. It's not a bad place by any means, and the early lounge experience is definitely a highlight followed up with the banging DJ club scene after...it's just the paying premium rates for a relatively average experience for me.

My date and I both love jazz and this spot was recommended to us in passing. I am so glad we listened because it was absolutely amazing. The vibe is swanky and super cute. When you walk in the walls are lined with photos of different jazz artists including the performers for that night. It felt so classy and welcoming. There is a hostess at the front who seats you based on your ticket and yes you buy your tickets online. I saw some available on third party sites but we purchased directly from the Middle C Jazz website. The venue itself is intimate. I would say maybe 100 people fit comfortably. No matter where you are seated you can see the stage. There truly is not a bad seat in the house. Some tables are reserved like the couple celebrating their anniversary who were seated right in front of the stage. We were off to the side but the view and sound were still perfect. When you arrive you stand in a short line and then get seated. If you are a party of two you might share a table with another couple which I did not mind at all. They have small bites you can order and there is a little light on the table you tap when you are ready for service. I had the crab cakes they were okay and my date had the sliders. I also ordered a glass of wine and everything paired nicely with the music. And the music... wow. The band played for about two hours and they were incredible. That night was a Stevie Wonder tribute and they absolutely delivered. I hear different bands play each night which makes me want to come back again and again. It was my birthday weekend but we were mostly there for the date. Still it felt like the perfect way to celebrate without even trying. The sound, the atmosphere, the intimacy, everything was so cute and so well done. Parking was easy. There is metered street parking or a garage right behind the building for ten dollars. You can either pay inside the jazz club or at the pay station. Just a heads up the pay station does not take American Express so if that is your card of choice handle the parking payment inside. This was honestly one of the best nights I have had in a long time. The music was fantastic the venue was beautiful and the whole experience felt special. Anytime someone visits me in Charlotte Middle C Jazz will be on the list. I cannot recommend this place enough.

She showed that she had a copy of ID, We are all beyond 50's, the security said she had to have the real driver license. Come on give us a break? We had to drive home to get it. We revisited this place on Saturday with some friends to see this cover band, The Camera Eye, for Rush...and they were so good, I think I'm now a Rush fan (like my husband has been for years). It was good to see that this place is still hopping. The place looked about the same (a bit worn down, of course), but many more bar chairs and tables than in the distant past. Think it's been at least 4 years since I've last been here? WOW. Although I haven't been here in a while, I've always loved this place. It's spacious with several levels...and has such a cool, comfy vibe. Also, the light show and the sound system is really good! I also thought the bar service was really quick. Despite the huge crowd, I got served right away! Not sure if they still do raves, dance parties and special shows like they did in the past, but I remember some of the best times here. After seeing the stellar cover band this weekend, I'm thinking that this place is a keeper...and I hope to have more good times here in the future!

The Visulite theatre provides water for free and had a few tables and chairs which is a luxury I really appreciated. You're allowed to bring food into the venue and I saw quite a few people with Viva Chicken from next door. Seating is first come first served seating but my wife and I were able to find two seats.
