I loved nearly everything about the hotel: the bathrobes which I wore every morning to & from the main pool for my 6 AM, 40-lap swim, the large walk-in shower (put a towel on the floor in there as it can be slippery), a large tube of tooth paste was a surprising addition to the bathroom toiletries, plus excellent body lotion (also a rarity) & shower gel. The variety of light switches & sensors throughout the room made for a bit of a challenge when it came to turning off lights as needed/wanted. Housekeeping staff was great with room cleaning & evening turn-down service (little chocolates included!), the enjoy-all-you-want-liquor shelf & the generous drinks/snacks in the mini-fridge, plus multiple comfy chairs & couches both in the room & on the balcony. Our jacuzzi were not the most powerful but the jacuzzi in one of our 3 sons' rooms was the perfect rainy-afternoon distraction for their 4 young kids. And what's not to love when there are full length picture windows on 2 sides of the jacuzzi so you can see out to the sky & your porch? Staff everywhere was friendly, most know a good enough amount of English, Alberto @ Guest Services was as helpful as can be, the gym is the most impressive one I have ever seen & 2 of our kids did full blown workouts every morning (super large, very well outfitted, clean, great lighting), the grounds are meticulously cared for, including such details as broom-cleaning the ceilings of the breezeways. The main pool gets same attention to detail with the hand-cleaning of its sides several times a day (thank you to Trainee, Carlos, for making chaise loungers available to our large crew every day). The pools next to the kids' club are a huge draw for kids (& adults!) of all ages (no drinks allowed to be brought there) with the "blob" being SO fun to jump up & down on, the multiple water slides, sprayers, nearby chaise lounges & lifeguard. I loved the Sweet Corner, where we enjoyed lattes, frappes, milkshakes, cinnamon rolls, muffins, ice cream & more with staff bringing in fresh inventory several times /day. Us grandparents enjoyed our morning coffees post-swim before the sons, daughters-in-law & all their kids woke up, did their workouts & then gathered for breakfast. Higher end alcohol is offered at the many, many (& I mean many) bars, which was a nice perk (Wences at the Aqua Bar puts together some great drinks), there are several soft ice cream dispensers, plus a great juice bar, several laps pools offering quieter spots for sunning, an adults-only pool & bar, the beach is fully tractor-cleaned every morning, there are tons of palapas on the beach, and the beachside Dunas Restaurant offers good options although the wait time can be long for a table & then your food. We ended our days watching the 8 PM live theater shows with such themes as Michael Jackson, Mario Brothers, Afro-Caribbean performers & acrobatics which our 7 grandchildren (from age 7 months to 8 years) all loved & ended at the perfect time for ALL of us to be ready to sleep after long, active days. Let me finish by saying that the food service & choices are a show stopper; the diversity of food, especially at breakfast (think: dinner for breakfast!) was both colorful, varied, healthy, fresh, filling & I cannot imagine someone not finding much to enjoy. While the resort offered a decent package of restaurants and services, it didn't quite meet our expectations based on previous stays at other all-inclusive locations. If you're considering this resort and don't have much prior information, it's best to manage your expectations. Some reviews come from guests experiencing all-inclusives for the first time, so their reference points may differ. Here's a summary: The real standout here was the staff--they were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We genuinely enjoyed interacting with them. Bar service was prompt, and the drinks were good. The staff also did an excellent job keeping the property and beach areas clean and inviting. For staff alone, I would give them 5 stars (out of 5). If you're hoping to play golf at the nearby course, keep in mind that feedback from other guests indicates the course was in poor condition and not recommended. While I didn't play myself, a group we spoke with chose to book elsewhere after their experience. Note that the golf course is not managed by the resort, so check detailed reviews prior to booking a round. There are other options in the area. Overall, based on a golfer's perspective: 2 stars. The location works well enough, but don't expect to find much within walking distance for exploring. If you want to see more of the area, you'll likely need to rely on Uber or a cab. I did walk around and enjoyed learning about the local culture, though it turned into a 10-mile trek. Overall: This part is subjective. No rating. The biggest letdown was the restaurant dining. The basics--salad, bread, calamari, and included wines--were fine. However, the beef entrée I ordered was so poor in both taste and presentation that I couldn't tell what cut it was, or even if it was real beef. My friends tried it and agreed it tasted like a processed meat product rather than actual beef. The other dishes were just OK; nothing impressed us. Overall: 2 stars.

This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had in decades of travel. While there were a handful of exceptional staff members who provided genuinely great service, the overall experience was defined by repeated misrepresentation and poor accountability. The most serious issue: my reservation was changed without my knowledge or consent from a standard qualifying stay into a promotional stay, which removed my IHG points and elite credit. This was never disclosed, and it only became apparent after checkout. I contacted both Iberostar and IHG countless times following my stay and received little to no response. The only time I saw any movement was after escalating and mentioning filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which is something I have never had to do before and did not take lightly. Additionally, I booked a high-floor oceanfront suite and was instead placed on the first floor with no acknowledgment or recovery. The spa experience was disorganized and unacceptable. Appointments confirmed in advance did not exist upon arrival, amenities were missing or nonfunctional, and a discount that was promised was later denied. The "concierge" area is in reality a timeshare sales operation. Guests are approached with what appears to be a complimentary offer (in my case, a massage), which turns into a high-pressure sales pitch for a very expensive (30K+) membership. The interaction felt misleading and uncomfortable. Food quality across the property was also consistently poor, with overly salted dishes and limited appealing options, especially at the pool and buffet. The store on property charges US$20 for eight tampons, which is price gouging. While at morning yoga, a pool attendant was watching TikTok videos, and when I kindly asked him to stop to focus and hear the yoga instructor he rolled his eyes at me and there will also broken nails and shards of metal where we were supposed to be practicing barefoot. The property itself is clean and visually appealing, and again, some staff members were excellent. However, the combination of deceptive practices, lack of transparency, and failure to respond or resolve issues makes it impossible to recommend.

The one thing that I really did not like is you cannot make any reservation reservations for dinner except for the Teppanyaki. We went to the Italian, Mediterranean, and the steakhouse for the specialty restaurants. The steakhouse was by far the best flavor and food selections, although it does take at least an hour to an hour and a half from sitting. Because you can't make any reservations I feel like this resort does push you towards the buffet, but that gets boring after day four or five. The best thing about this resort if you stay on the adults only side you can have access to the family side as well. We did use the gym, but it was very small and typically by 9 AM was super full. Would recommend this resort, but the seven day stay felt very long! I would recommend going for 4-5 days max.

Even after admitting they violated their own policy and woke up our baby they did absolutely nothing for us except offer some cheap "gifts" we didn't want. The manager didn't even come out to apologize for their wrong doing. Also would like to mention they "upgraded" our room to be right next to where they are doing construction to a nearby room. Loud banging was heard even at 9 pm. Unbelievable again knowing that we were checking in with a baby. We are not ones to complain or write reviews but do not stay here. There are plenty of other nice resorts in the area.

Our luggage was immediately checked in and we were able to check in even arriving early around 11 am. Our particular room was ready and we checked and our luggage was promptly dropped off. We stayed in an oceanfront room which had a beautiful view with a seating area inside and on the balcony. The room and bathroom were very clean and well stocked. I like the aromatherapy touch in the resort and in our rooms being able to choose which scent you wanted was very nice. I loved the separation of the toilet and shower by a wall and doors for privacy when using either. The water pressure and water temperature in the shower was great although there was some water draining from the shower during use. We would generally put a foot towel down to contain the water. The room was serviced twice daily so we were never without towels, etc. I also utilized the laundry service which was reasonably priced for three pieces of clothing and it was returned the next day. The staff was generally very courteous and helpful (we only had one less than courteous experience with a waiter at the Hidden Garden on our last evening). The food at the restaurants and by the beach and pool area was great - I cannot say enough about the fresh fruit and the grilled ribs and chicken so well seasoned and cooked with flavor. We ate daily in Siete for breakfast (the smoothie station you will need to go to first because it fills up because the smoothies are sooo good). We also dined at Hidden Garden where I enjoyed Indian cuisine which was delicious (but a small portion). All inclusive so it was nice not having to continually carry payment and only the gratuity needed for the staff. The last two mornings of our stay there appeared to be construction in the room next door or our floor which was disturbing - we did alert the front desk staff and it would generally stop around a certain time. Getting beds and chairs at the beach was generally easy but for the pool it was the hunger games usually having to place towels or bags on chairs early to 'reserve' them (there are no reservations for chairs only for the larger cabanas for an additional fee) We also experienced the spa which was amazing. Highly recommend visiting during your stay. The spa ritual is so relaxing and the couples massage in a combined room was great. Would definitely stay again. $$$

After such a missed opportunity with the birthday decor, I should've known it was going downhill from here. After the presentation that ended up being 3 hours not 90 mins, I signed up the the Inspira vacation membership but changed my mind the following day. I submitted a cancellation request for the membership within the contract's grace period and received no response until after that period had passed. It's says a lot about the character of a brand when a company is highly responsive during the sales process but far less responsive when a customer exercises their contractual rights. Also, Maria Dolores wasn't great. It was actually a 5/10. The other restaurants on property have way better food. After this experience, I will NEVER return.

The resemblance was uncanny, and his energy was simply amazing--he had the whole place rocking! It's shows like that that make the evenings so memorable. The Heart of the Resort: The Staff As wonderful as the resort itself is, the staff are the real reason we started planning our next trip back before we even left. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and are the key to the entire experience. We spent most of our days at the Excellence Club pool, and our waiter, Floricel, was a true standout. Excellence Club: The upgrade gives you perks that, in my opinion, are worth the splurge. You get a private beach area, a private pool, exclusive access to the Magna restaurant, and a lounge bar. In your room, they add fresh flowers, sparkling wine, and an upgraded mini bar. You also get a different room service menu and a hydrotherapy session per person. Staff: Absolutely every staff member gave us phenomenal service. Many returning guests said the staff is why they came back. Some other resorts are more technologically advanced, but Excellence is top tier for its service. Someone is always checking in, and anything you need is taken care of right away. Pools/Beach: There are several pools, including a main pool with a swim-up bar. I called this the party area because it has music and afternoon activities/games. My favorite spot to lounge was near the "lazy river" across from the ping pong and billiards. This area is quieter, and they also have some day beds available. People get up EARLY to save the day beds and the lounge chairs. One morning, I headed down just before 8 AM, and there were only two day beds left. People leave towels, bags, or books to save space. The resort does not allow this, but it's difficult to enforce because you can't tell if someone is away swimming or grabbing a snack somewhere. Be a nice human, and don't save a space for three hours while you're up in your room sleeping. The beach also has a lot of lounge chairs and day beds. I've visited the beach in the morning and in the afternoon around 1 PM and was able to snag a lounge chair. Both pool and beach areas are very well attended! There is someone going around every 10 - 20 minutes checking in on you to see if you need water, drinks, or food. Restaurants/Food: It is impossible to absolutely kill all food categories at a resort. I'm going to be honest, the American food was not it. I wasn't a fan of cheeseburgers, wings, or pizza. However, there were some restaurants and food items that stood out to me. For breakfast, you can't go wrong with the Kitchen Table. It's a brunch buffet, and my go-to was the made-to-order omelets, chilaquiles, and French toast. The freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing, AND be sure to order a cappuccino instead of their regular coffee. For lunch, I highly recommend the fish tacos at Lobster House or the agua chiles and the crunchy salmon tacos from Olas. You get a great view of the beach while you eat, and it's a great vibe. One of our favorite dinners was the interactive dining at Spice. This does require a reservation, and I recommend making this reservation when you check in. It's a teppanyaki-style dinner, and you're in a separate room with 10 people total. It's very intimate, and all the courses were delicious. Our favorite post-dinner hangout was at the Sports Bar. They have a small pool table and will likely have a game that you're looking to catch while you enjoy a beer or cocktail. Aroma was our go-to for our morning coffee and our nightly ice cream scoop before heading to our room. Their iced hazelnut coffee was excellent, and I loved their lemon sorbet. You also cannot go wrong with the 24/7 room service. Experiences/Show: Download the Excellence Collection app. You'll use it every day for entertainment schedules and restaurant menus and dress codes. There are daily fitness offerings like yoga, pickleball, volleyball, or Zumba and activities like Sip Wine & Paint and Cantarito painting on the beach. Some events have limited spots, so arrive early. Every Thursday is the Mexican Fiesta with mariachi and a huge buffet (and a ton of margaritas), so it's a great time. Shows we loved were the Burlesque, Elegance Circo, and the Magic Show. Seasons Transfer: If you stay 7 days, you get a free airport pick-up and drop-off. Seasons provided great instructions, and finding our driver was easy. The vehicle was comfortable with room for six. Our return trip felt hectic because of an accident that caused major traffic. We still made the flight, but I recommend requesting an earlier pick-up time just in case. Junior Suite: I still think about this bed. I took a picture of the mattress brand because I want one at home. The pillows were perfect, and they gave us four. The couch wasn't comfortable, and the TV options were limited. I wish there was a Netflix login option. I'm hoping this is part of the hotel renovation. There's a tub near the window we didn't use, but it was a nice option. The ocean-view balcony was 10/10. The bathroom has a glass door, so not super private, but the shower was huge with a rainfall head. Closet space was great, and the robes and slippers got daily use. Overall, I was very happy with our stay. It's worth the money, and I felt like I was in an episode of White Lotus when they greeted us with champagne.

Over the last few months, the hotel has had some significant upgrades, including adding in a Starbucks, upgrading the old small bar, and just improving overall quality of the hotel. I will say, though that it is sad to see that recent storms have destroyed the hotel's private beach. There is not much space to spread out and relax here so we would leave our stuff at the hotel and walk over to the public beach and enjoy the beach there. We have also gone during various months and the best months to enjoy the clean water without seaweed is definitely during the late winter months to the early spring months. The sarcasm seaweed can get overwhelming and leave a funky after smell. Also, it is very important to note that the island does have a sanctuary for birds that arrive late spring, and stay through the summer and fall. So if you book during the summer months, you will be overwhelmed with these loud birds that nest on the island and HOTEL. Aside from that, the hotel is such a great place to stay for a couple days. The food is still average. There's nothing really crazy, however, we would always go downtown and get some amazing street food or dine at the restaurants down there. Again, because there was upgrades, I would definitely come back again ! Also, highly recommend that when you book a stay here you book transportation through the hotel that will get you from the airport to the ferry and then the ferry to the hotel and then the same back to the airport. Very simple, convenient and easy to use.

I have also emailed multiple times and have received no response. I made a reservation through the hotel website. I needed to modify my reservation and add a day. It is not an option to do this online. I ended up canceling my first reservation and making a new one through the Mia Reef website because I was concerned that rooms were filling up and we would not be able to join the party we are traveling with. Due to this, I ended up having to pay more for a lower quality room. I still have not seen my original charge refunded to my credit card. I am within the cancellation policy and received a cancellation confirmation email. I am now seeing other customers complain that they have not received refunds either. I would like to speak to someone in regard to this matter and hoping a review will get a response.

It had a jacuzzi on the balcony and a Nespresso machine with pods. The mini fridge was stocked with water, soda, and beer. On the adults-only side, we also received tequila, Bacardi, and champagne. There are quite a few pools at the resort. The pools on the adults-only side offer higher-end liquor, and on Thursdays they host a foam pool party. The adults-only side also has lounges with food and drinks available 24 hours a day. The restaurants and buffets are good. Only the hibachi and French restaurants require reservations; the others are first come, first served. I really enjoyed the Flavors buffet and the Mexican restaurant. Coffee can be ordered at the piano bar. There isn't a menu, but you can ask for drinks like lattes and cappuccinos. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place for a all inclusive, ADULTS ONLY resort. The resort it self was clean, modern and flawless. The service and people working there was top notch, everyone made us feel like royalty. The food was so good, obviously some spots weren't perfect but 90% of the time we LOVED what we ate. Was full inclusive so we ate a ton and drank a lot! The pools were beautiful and lots of options having 4. From Tuesday to Thursday it was so easy to get a spot at the pool or beach, would show up at 11am and find a two chairs and umbrella no problem. Friday/Saturday it was a bit harder since it's the weekend so the pool area was packed by 1pm but went to the beach and again found two spots with umbrella no problem. Beach was solid for hotel zone, this area of Cancun is known for having bad seaweed but the resort did its best to keep it cleaned up. Was able to get in the water some days and not see the seaweed everywhere. We did a preferred booking so got room on a higher floor, exclusive quick check in, access to roof top pool and restaurant. So if you don't care about those things just do a regular room but the upstairs pool was incredible. This place is definitely a relaxing resort, not a ton to do at night but that's what we wanted for our honeymoon. Pool can be somewhat lively during the day with music, and performances but at night it's just casual bars, restaurants and what not. Everything dies down before 12. Did a spa day too and it was great, had a couples massage, full body scrub, and hydrotherapy circuit for two that costs $398. I recommend booking it when you arrive as they may have deals. It was a great experience overall, we would for sure come back 100%!!! Every single worker there was so nice and helpful. Did not have a single bad experience with anyone that worked there.

We had a great time staying at Secrets The Vine resort. Adults only all-inclusive. It had a chill…read moreand slower pace which is exactly what we were looking for. Great breakfast and lunch buffets. I wish the food was a little better at the restaurants but it got the job done. No reservations needed unlike some of the other all-inclusive hotels. Excellent service the entire stay. Great beach access. Get out to the pool/beach early if you want to reserve a chair for the day. If not, people leave around lunch time and you can snag their chair. Located in the hotel zone of Cancun so it only took maybe 15 minutes to get there from the airport. Gated resort with an attendant. We never felt unsafe and even ventured off of the property to check out the shops across the street. I would highly recommend this resort!
