Thank you to Reds team for completing my window installation satisfactorily. Unfortunately my business with this company did not start out on a good note. The first team that came in to install just the living room bay window did not complete the job properly or in compliance with the signed contract. I complained repeatedly to our salesman Tony but the message I got from him was buy more windows and I'll have the bay window fixed. I finally called management and quickly got the ball rolling. Reds team repaired the faulty bay window and just this week did a superior job on the rest of my windows. The team was a pleasure to have in my home for the day and I am now completely satisfied. Excel Windows and Bath are extremely professional and customer oriented. From the moment the sales person came to the door to the installation was finished, they were there to assure everything was done correctly. The company completed a whirlpool tub to shower conversion and it was a difficult job based upon the area. We couldn't be more pleased with the work. In addition, they replaced two windows and a patio door in the walk out basement. When I need windows again I will definitely call them. If any of my neighbors want to do a tub-to-shower conversion, I will definitely recommend they contact Excel Windows and Bath first. read more

I wrote a review a week ago and mentioned that I had an installation issue and I contacted Excel Window three times and each time they were apologetic and would take care of it. I want to truly say their work is truly exceptional. They did finally contact me and setup a day to come out a correct the issue. What we found out was that the original work order was lost and somehow in their system it showed it was repaired. Each time I contacted them that it was not repaired they took the information and then somehow it showed repaired in their system. I except this explanation and want to change by stars from 1 to 5. The work they perform is truly exceptional. My doors fit perfectly. I am grateful Excel sent the big guy out to take care of the issue. A profession a-Team...they were very respectful to us and our home...they were prompt.and cleaned up after each day..of installing, .they were above and beyond our expectations. we have had our windows about a week and notice how much cooled it is. the salesman, Tony was very professional. The install crew was far from it. When they came to do the install, they didn't clean up after themselves, they stepped on the bed and made dirty boot print on the pillow, and also scratched the end table. this was noticed after they left and were given final payment by my house sitter. I understand that in the rush of things, things like this could happen, but when i called there company office, judy was very defensive and didn't want to acknowledge any wrong doing but instead put some blame on us for not moving furniture far enough. I had Excel Windows install a new security door and entrance door along with replacing 4 casement windows and the craftsmanship was superb. The installers were so polite and very good and knowledgeable. The work performed was so good, we had doors installed years ago from another company and after seeing the quality of work that excel windows did made me realise that the other window and door company didnt know how to install their products properly. The work Excel Windows did is superb and dealing with the owner Jim Vuko made our decision much easier when choosing Excel Windows. Just had my windows installed 2 days ago. Although it's too early to comment on the product, I can confidently say dealing with this company is a refreshing change from dealing with many other companies where customer service is not a priority. Tony, our salesman was great. Very friendly and thorough. Franz, and other employees I spoke with on the phone leading up to installation ALL exhibited genuine care and were pleasant to talk to. My installers were amazing. They were very friendly. They cleaned up everything and addressed any concerns. I don't recall their names, but it was a father and son team. They had a great work ethic. Assuming the windows are going to be as great as the service, I highly recommend Excel. read more

I wish I could divide my review. Sales guy was Steve and he gets an A for effort, his time spent with us (on more than one occasion) and his knowledge. He was a pleasure from start to finish and if I was just reviewing my experience with him it would be a solid five. Unfortunately he doesn't have much to do with the process after signing of the contract, and this is where things get a little frustrating for us. The second half of the process would get four stars. I have two areas of unease, but first the positive. The installers were accommodating to my special needs son, and were very nice. They worked quickly and efficiently, completing the job in two days. We also had some odd requests to avoid my sons exposure to paint and chemicals, all of which were accommodated with compassion and eagerness. The windows themselves are a great value, a huge improvement to our home, and a difference in efficiancy was immediately noticeable. Now on to the areas of concern. Our patio door comes with a scratch on the inside of the window between the panes.Not a reflection of excel, more so the manufacturer, but a hassle all the same. I insist we want a factory new door, and they must replace it. They eventually do, after many phone calls and some frustration, and in the end all is well, but I'm disappointed about the experience. My second concern is the very bumpy caulk job on the exterior. I've been inspecting friends caulk when I visit their houses and I'm contemplating calling excel to come and re-caulk next spring. I will update this review if I do. Udate: we were immediately contacted by excel windows regarding our dissatisfaction, and they will be coming out in the spring to fix the caulk I'm unhappy with. I'm impressed they took the initiative- So much less stressful than me calling to complain etc. I should also say that I tend to be a perfectionist. While many friends I've shown the door/windows to said the caulk was indeed messy, just as many said "who cares? It's caulk." Still, I'm happy they are addresing it and will update once they follow through in the spring. UPDATE: they did come out and fix the caulk, all is well read more

I had 10 windows replaced. Casement windows with new woodwork. If I could separate the sales part from the installation, I would give Tony 5 stars and installation 1 stars. The salesman Tony was exceptionally kind and professional. Installation guys scratched my wooden floors, left their big boot prints on the multiple pieces of the new wooden trim that surrounds the windows. The installation guy installed a piece of wood that was chipped. When I pointed it out to him, he asked me if I wanted him to replace it. They also did not screw the handles into 4 of the windows, so when I went to open the windows, the handles came right off. And the handles they did screw in were misaligned. Another piece of my new wooden trim was dented. When Tony, my salesman called to ask how the installation went, I told him to come and take a look. He stated he would send a manager over. Well one week later, the person who had come over to take the measurements came over to see the installation. That was Thursday morning at 8am. His name was Paul. Paul stated that he would call me before end of business regarding a resolution. He stated they would fix things because they want to make us (the customers) happy. I stated how about just living up to your supposed standard of work that Excel states it has. Well Thursday and Friday went by and nobody has called. Our blinds are still not up because we are waiting for the fix. I will keep you posted regarding what Excel does to remedy this situation. Thanks K. Caceres from South side of Chicago. Update: Excel called and stated that they were unaware that Paul (measurement professional standing in place of supervisor) stated he would call me by the end of the day to let me know what the resolution would be. This was now 3 business days later. If you send a supervisor out to inspect work, is it not a logical, yet minimal expectation that the company would call you to let you know what the resolution is within a business day, after waiting a week for the "supervisor" to come out. Mind you, Paul, is not really the supervisor anyway. Excel came out and remedied the dented and dirty wood. No offer to do anything with the scratched floors. Two gentleman came out. Nathan and an apprentice, (I forgot his name). The apprentice pants were hanging to his knees. I think he needed a belt and while he was talking did not think anything of grabbing his testicles. I am wondering where the nice uniformed installation men are that are in the pictures. I don't think I would do business with Excel again. read more

Let me save you some time. I had a dozen window companies out to quote my project, an extremely painful process.Excel was the best to work with, and had an extremely competitive price.Other homeowners in my area paid THOUSANDS more for similar amounts of windows or less than I have. I've done the shopping for you- I just don't think you'll find a better company. Excel supplied vinyl replacement windows for my whole house, a patio door, and vinyl siding for my 2nd floor (first floor is brick). An awesome company to do business with! My salesman, Ray Bonomo, is very friendly, knowledgeable with no high pressure. Very "user friendly". The inside sales team is very helpful, especially Leo. Leo is always there to answer a question, and always returns calls. My windows and patio door arrived ahead of schedule. The installation team I had- Red, Carson and Steve- were great. Their work is very meticulous, they finished faster than estimated, and they left my house cleaner than it was when they arrived. A very friendly group of guys, too. Same with the vinyl siding. It arrived early, and the job was completed in less time than they thought initially. Excellent craftsmanship. I don't like to recommend contractors or suppliers to people because of the possible backlash if things don't go right. I'll make an exception for Excel. They were great, and I would recommend them in a heart beat. My 20 year old home got a much needed face lift, and we couldn't be happier with the results. read more

We used Excel for 23 windows. What really sold me was the extreme knowledge that the sales rep Matt had. I had three companies come out for a quote and Matt went over and above explaining everything to us. He went in depth explaining the process and the windows and what you are looking for. None of the other sales people spent so much time with us. he answered each and every question. The delivered on everything they said they would. The windows are beautiful and we are very happy with the quality. They have a great warranty as well. I highly recommend Excel! read more

These guys are the best. We had three picture windows replaced, two storm doors, back door and front door. When the handle came loose on the one, they sent a repair man out at no cost. Our dogs tore the screens in the picture window; they replaced them at no cost. Their tradesmen are the best. I can't recommend them enough. read more

I had Excel Windows Install 15 windows and bought a life time warranty on the windows. Now back then I was able to deal with the owner who was great and the install was great. Really enjoy the windows. But I call at least 10 times to get some more gas in the windows under the warranty and was dealing with the service manager. His favorite comment is " I will get back with you" Which he never does. So I do not recommend Excel windows from the maintance read more

Our order was taken by Julie who spent lots of time with us until we finally decided which product and style to pick. Delivery and installation were made according to our schedule in a very timely fashion. The worker, Tom, who had completed the installation was very competent and worked diligently until the job was complete. The pricing was quoted fairly and was more reasonably than other companies in the area. I have had Exel Windows installed throughout my house. Recently I had some concerns about a few of my windows that were originally installed over 10 years ago. Julie came out and was extremely helpful in addressing my concerns and worked very hard to replace the windows with the exact color match on the trim. She never gave up... until the color was matched and I was satisfied. The installer was more than helpful and polite, as well. I also highly recommend the basement windows I had installed (from Excel) although I can't remember the name of them, they are not glass block, but very strong, double pane that cannot be cracked. read more
