Rodney, our technician, was scheduled for a routine service but he identified an unexpected bee problem in our yard and went above and beyond checking to make sure they weren't coming inside the house and then treated their new found location outside. He was informative and caring and even made sure we didn't let the dog out after he treated the problem (so she wouldn't be exposed to a swarm of angry bees). Rodney was so thorough and took such great care of our property! He truly inspected the area, and took his time to make sure he provided every service we needed while he was here. In the midst of the COVID-19 scare, OF COURSE we found ourselves hearing some critters above us. They dispatched Kenny to our house several hours after our call, in full COVID-19 protection gear, and he got to work finding that we had a mice problem, which we had NO idea about! STAY AWAY! They have terrible customer service. I called Willy, he gave me a quote over the phone on Monday. I then decided to hire them and reached out to him on Tuesday, I made several attempts (3-4) on Tuesday trying to reach him, but no response. I sent text on Wednesday Morning and he replied saying he will "call me back in a few". but then he did not call, I then text him again asking if he can do the service or not, he then called back, very unprofessionally, YELLING and asking me "why I kept bothering him, I am not at your disposal, did I not gave you quote, you said you will think about it, not my fault I am in the meeting and cant get to the phone" flat out unprofessional, and not the way to treat your customer. read more

Excel is at it again. Three weeks of waiting every Saturday for Excel to show up. They never arrived. Hope my building owner gets another company to do the work. Excel is so unreliable and does not do their job. For many months now there are roaches and mice in the apartment. Mice running around the drop ceiling. They jump onto it from the ceiling above. Absolutely do not hire! Quite literally the worst service I have ever experienced. The receptionists could not have been more rude if they tried. We were hung up on multiple times. We contracted with Excel for literal months on end and they could not fix the problem. Technicians often told us they'd come out the next day and would just not show up without any warning. We ultimately used a family member who fixed the issue in a day. Save your money and hire someone competent. read more

Simply because we called them today and asked them if they could come out and they said that they would get someone out to us. Updated 5/13/20: Michael is a man of his word. As promised excel came out to my home at 12:30. Supervisor Joe was patient and easy going. He answered my questions and did everything I asked of him. The whole process took about 20 minutes and they were done. Michael called me to follow up an hour later to make sure I was happy with everything. We worked out an equitable agreement and I even signed back up for whole house protection so now they have me as a client again. Michael told me if I ever have any issues I can call him directly which is always nice to know. I can now say that excel has turned my negative experience into a positive one, and that's what good business is all about. Keeping your clients happy will reward you for many years to come! He listened patiently to my concerns and where I felt they fell short. He offered to have the supervisor come out himself tomorrow to install the sentricom system and address any of my questions or concerns. I do appreciate the after hours call to address the problems I have been having. Tuesday 5/12/20 5:45pm I have used excel pest control (river edge branch) for a few years and had to cancel to due one of their employees. That being said, I found some termites in my raised garden bed in the back of my home. So I wanted to get protection and get rid of them so I figured Excel is a local family owned biz so I would give them another chance. Well I am sorry I did! Kenny (very nice guy) came out to our home and explained to us what the sentricom bait system is and how it would be installed, told us the price for termite sentricom and home protection quarterly plan and we agreed. Signed the work order that same day. Received a call next day to schedule the install and Whole house insect protection plan after PSEG marked my property for gas lines. The next day my wife and I decided paying $65 a month for the quarterly protection and yearly bait renewal was a lot since we are both out of work due to Covid-19, we wanted to hold off on that part but still needed the termite sentricom system which was going to cost $695 plus tax. Not cheap by any means. I called excel the very next day to inform them I wanted to cancel my home protection plan and had to do this three different times because I never received a call back to confirm this change. Finally, after the fourth call to them and expressing my serious frustrations, my service tech Kenny called me back to tell me that he took off the quarterly home maintenance plan and the yearly bait renewal that they were supposed to charge me for and said don't worry I wouldn't be charged and no one would come and do the maintenance because he canceled it in the system. Well wouldn't you know Monday comes around and Kenny is calling me asking me if I will be home because he is on his way. I said OH OK...? I will be home in 30 minutes I guess I'll see you soon. (Thinking he was installing the termite bait system,nope!). He called me back in 5 mins and said wait a minute didn't you cancel your home protection plan. Uh yes Kenny lol, I spoke to you about this just 2 days ago and you said it was canceled and here you are coming to do the work I canceled! So I am waiting for the tech to show up 5 o'clock comes and goes, no excel termite tech ever shows up or calls. 7:10pm I get a call from a very strange/weird sounding person on the other end who I could barely understand telling me he got a flat tire (which may have been true I don't know) and he would not be able to make it "up there" before it gets dark out....? I didn't cause a problem or argue I just said Ok I understand. He assured me the office would call me tomm to reschedule. Ok no prob.... right...? WRONG!! With all the communication issues I've had I decided to send an email to their office immediately after we got off the phone. Guess what, it's now the next day after 5pm and I have not heard from anyone at Excel pest control to reschedule. So I had to call them again 5th or 6th time now so many times I am losing track. Just Spoke to Joy who was trying to be nice but honesty she just seemed to want to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. She Didn't want to take any ownership of my problem just that she was going to send an email to the "other" new business team and they would call me back tomorrow. The same people who didn't call me back how many times now?? I asked to speak with Michael who is Joys manager but was not given a number or an email address for me to contact him directly. I have been searching for the owners of excel pest so I could email them and let them know what a mess their company has turned into. read more

I called exel cause I found out I had bed bugs. The branch manager ( Micheal) came to my apartment to check things out. He told me that if I have any questions I can call him or text him. Every time I have tried to reach him, I never get a response. To me that is extremely unprofessional. I did have a great experience with Eric though, he is the one who came to spray my apartment. Very kind, and professional. Also the receptionist and other people I have spoke to have come across rude. Not sure if I will ever use them again. read more

I called three companies to get estimates and met with their staff. I was the most impressed with Excel Termite and Pest Control. From the first contact with the office staff to the onsite free inspection I was very pleased by their courteous and professional demeanor. I actually missed the first appointment and when I called to rescheduled the young woman who took my call could not have been more polite and helpful....we were able to reschedule for the very next day. I was given the name of the professional who would be doing the inspection and assured that masks and gloves would be used. The following day Ken W came wearing a mask and gloves and was very clear about needing to follow all Covid 19 procedures. Ken listened to all my concerns about pests and at my request visited every site in and outside of my house where I saw a problem. He answered all my questions in a professional manner and explained how and what he would be doing to alleviate my problems. I was very satisfied and decided to sign a contract for the services as explained to me. The next day Ken came with Liam F and they explained what they were going to do. They worked quickly and efficiently and when I asked if they could show me what they had done they do so explaining along the way and answering all my questions. Ken is a real professional but friendly and polite at the same times as was his assistant Liam F. I'm looking forward to working with them to eliminate my pest problem. As a senior on a fixed income I found them to be highly professional and reasonable at the same time. We originally called Excel about a year ago to treat carpenter bees. We decided to enroll in an annual program and are glad we did. The bees are persistent and periodic retreatment is necessary. Whenever I have contacted them they have promptly responded and arrived when promised. Even tho I had experience from elsewhere in the industry, they have provided additional helpful suggestions and monitoring. Have even helped reduce Cave crickets in the basement. Very professional. This company is very expensive and charges my bank account quarterly automatically. Once they charge my account they automatically sends a technician to my property without any calls to set up and schedule an appointment. They will leave sorry we missed you sticker. They give appointment hours based on their availability of 9am - 3pm when most people are at work. I pay this company why should I have to call out of work to wait for the company I pay. They have accommodated me several times with late afternoon appointments but not until I have to demand to speak with management.
