When I discovered I had mice in our house, I called these guys because of their stellar yelp rating. They did the job of setting the traps and the price was very reasonable. They are very professional (called in advance of their arrival and arrived on time) and took care of everything. Even wore shoes guards into the house to prevent dirt from getting everywhere. Not everyone does this. Ross and the guy before him (don't know his name) were amazingly helpful and patient. I can't recommend them enough. I am really sorry to do this, as the techs that came out are very nice people. However: 1) Other than getting rid of cave crickets, their methods were non-effective. (I could buy my own sticky mat to catch bugs at Home Depot) 2) Once I told them the service was cancel, the billing shade began. They tried to pretend that all was well, I received and email that read the following: a)"Let this email service as written confirmation, your account will close on 7/31/19 you will be charged 1 last monthly payment for July and nothing will be charged after that." Thanks, Robert b) They billed me for July and THEN.... 3) Tried to bill me again, when I informed them that the agreement was for me to be finished with my contract, they sent me another bill...I sent another email. Thank God for Viking! Ants were everywhere and after just one treatment they were basically gone! Yes, I got a package that allows Viking to come back if I need them and yes I have called them again for other bugs, but it was a while between visits and it worked like a charm. I was satisfied until the end. I had the annual service contract that included quarterly maintenance service. The last service received was in December of 2017 with no prior notice besides a call the morning of. I was okay with this as long as there was a follow up for service inside the home, but unfortunately this never happened. I called to cancel the contract and asked for the last service to be rendered; however, their attitude and customer service changed due to me wanting to cancel. Instead, they charged me the full quarter of the contract even though only one month of time went by, and to make matters worse, they never completed their last service which was for the prior quarter. To say the least I will NEVER user their service again and advise against due to their greedy behavior. At the very least, I hope this post changes their customer service for existing customers. read more

I've used Chemtec since 2000 and at two different homes. Both houses had different Pests and Chemtec took care of it all. In Ridgewood, we had mice and ants. In Hawthorne we had ants and pill bugs. Not only do they come when they say they're coming but their Service Technicians who come out are always friendly and professional. They pay attention to detail and make sure the fence gates are locked and no rock is unturned. Additionally, their prices are very reasonable and they are flexible if you run into hard times. I appreciate how every ChemTec technician I have worked with is polite, knowledgable, and informative. I'm currently signed up for the annual plan where I can schedule appointments with ChemTec as often as I'd like. At every appointment, the technician makes sure he/she wears foot coverings to avoid dragging dirt from the outside into my apartment, and the technician is always thorough in checking all the traps and bait stations and replacing the traps with new ones. My last technician Toney Pippens is always on time and is always willing to explain what type of traps and actions he's taking. I highly recommend him! read more

They were horrible. I did some yelp research and found that other people had same issues mostly bad. Then I looked up chem tech read the reviews and decided to call them. Terrible service. Contracted them 9 months ago to take care of mice infestation. They came to my house a few times to setup the most cheapest traps, never caught any single mice! I had to go buy my own traps and resolve the problem on my own. The worst part was dealing with the owner, when I complained about how ineffective their traps were, he told me he buys this traps on the cents, and he wouldn't be expending any more money on more expensive traps! He couldn't care less about doing the job he was contracted to do and acted in an extremely unprofessional way. read more

We have used ChemTec for probably three or four years now since I freaked out over a huge spider. They have handled issues from spiders to bees nests along roof line and we even started using their lawn service. They are a very responsive company and everyone I've dealt with has always been extremely pleasant. The technicians all seem to be very knowledgeable and while they are efficient and work quickly they will also take the time to answer any questions. Also, I appreciate that they automatically use the boot covers when they come in. Though the service people are punctual, and polite their knowledge and practice in rodent exclusion is poor. They do not have the knowledge or interest in the exclusion of rodents. All they do is set bait stations in the home. The techs did not seal the openings around my home even when I pointed out the openings to them. Finally one tech indicated I would have to learn to live with rodents and the bait stations would keep them in the basement, I saw two upstairs the next day. Needless to say I cancelled my contract and found a company that specialized exclusion. My advise is , if you have a rodent issue look elsewhere probably a smaller local company might be best. read more

With the help of my fiance's research, I recently started using ChemTec for mice in my home and they have been so helpful, knowledgeable and polite! Ever since the first visit I noticed that the incidence of mice droppings became nonexistent. They walked around the interior and exterior of the house looking for entry ways and provided useful information on how to patch up problem areas as well as prevent future infestations. I signed up for the yearly plan which includes exterminating a number of pests (mice, spiders, ants, etc) and unlimited visits for only $30 a month--well worth it in my book. WONDERFUL PEOPLE!!!!...*!* Highly Recommended!!!!!!! So my story begins with my first night out after having our son - we attended a friend's wedding and stayed over night at the hotel. I was so scared I brought bed bugs home - I was in hysterics! I saw a "bug" on the bed in the hotel the next morning and a week later I saw the dreaded "3 bites" on my leg! - they were in a triangle formation. I contacted two exterminators, E&G of South Amboy, NJ and ChemTec Pest Control of Saddle Brook. The first guy came and said he saw no evidence but I still have to treat my house, because he was Positive* I have stage 1 bed bugs. His conclusion was based solely on my 3 bites and because I went to a hotel. (mind you it is summer time and we have a ton of mosquitos in our yard) Then he said if it's not bedbugs - it's fleas because we have 3 dogs and 3 cats. He even threw in the mix of how much he cares for children and their safety - and how I should treat my home for my 8 month old's son's safety. (Now explain to me how spraying chemicals is beneficial to my son's safety if there is no evidence of any bugs in my home!) The following day a ChemTec representative, Rand*, came over (right on time*) and examined my bites, my son's bites, my mattress, my son's mattress, headboard, area around bed, and various other places and stated that I should try to relax (because he noticed how terrified I was*) and reassured me that "at this time" there are no signs of bed bugs or fleas and he did not see any reason to go further with any chemical treatment. And this was a FREE evaluation! Finally!!!!!!!! someone that puts honesty and CARING* above Money!!!! I was floored! I almost cried when he left. I called the office immediately to thank them and praise this wonderful man. Almost everyone these days is looking to make a quick buck and I was a bright neon sign ready to spend money because I was so scared for my son's safety - and instead of using my fear against me .... this gentlemen instead comforted me, calmed me and was honest! It is so comforting to know there are still good people out there* I 100% recommend this company to EVERYONE!!! The owner should be very proud of his or her business and employees and Rand deserves a raise! I will most definitely use this company in the future and I will recommend them to everyone I know!
