Everyone there was great, and Dr Weller did a great diagnosis on our Golden Retriever's ear infection and treatment. I didn't realize EVS was located inside of PetSmart but we will be bypassing our normal veterinarian (who couldn't see our Golden for 4 days) on many of our dog's issues going forward. We were a walk-in but were quickly brought in and evaluated. Their technology is superb. My experience with EVS Pet Urgent Care in Northbrook was wonderful. I was of course apprehensive, with a sick cat and an unknown vet. Dr. Jordana was everything I could have hoped for. This is absolutely not a good place to take your pets; I'm sorry, but the people there don't know what they're doing. On Monday the 21st, I took my cat in because she was vomiting; according to the doctor, there was nothing wrong with her she was fine. Sadly, she died on September 25th just five days after they had run all those checks. Believe me, if they had told me there was something else to be done, I would have done it. But this doctor and his nurse, Zoe, have no idea what they're doing. Pets have feelings, and it hurts to see these "professionals" taking advantage of people. Both times we were so impressed by the service we received at EVS. Both Dr. Rosen and her assistant, Caroline, were so compassionate. We appreciated that we were allowed to stay with our cat the entire time we were there; we had to wait for the blood test results. Urgent care is the best middle ground option between regular vet and ER. My dog injured himself over the weekend and had a limp that was getting worse. Our regular vet was closed, and the ER vet would've been hours of waiting and cost double for the exam fee alone. I called first, made an appointment online, and was seen within 5 minutes of arriving. We were in and out within 30 minutes with answers, medication, and a whole lot of relief. If I could give 10 stars, I would. We brought our dog Ollie into EVS Urgent Care of Northbrook just 30 minutes before they closed, worried and stressed. From the moment we walked in, Dr. Rosen and the entire team were incredibly calm, kind, and patient -- not just with us, but with Ollie, who is usually very anxious in clinical settings. Instead of rushing through or offering a quick patch-up due to the late hour, they took their time, explained all of our options clearly, and walked us through each possibility with care. They performed full diagnostics and had a pneumonia diagnosis in under an hour -- something that took us over eight hours to get at a full emergency hospital last year. What really got me? Ollie, our sweet but nervous boy, chose to sit next to the staff and get pets rather than sit with us. That's how comfortable they made him feel. We left with answers, a solid treatment plan, and immense gratitude. They even stayed late to make sure every test was run and every question answered. Dr Monica has remover 10( TEN !!!!) teeth - WITHOUT asking me for my permission!!!!!!! The cat has been going through a irreparable trauma ever since she did it to him!! He has never adjusted to no teeth situation- has issues eating Even since 4 weeks has passed!! he is partially outdoor cat- going outside- catching mice- enjoying freedom- but she took away his defense weapons( she took all 4 canine teeth out!!!) She has changed my life and my cats life to worse!! And now nothing can give it back to us. He could have used these teeth maybe till the end of his life.she took that away from him!! there is no logic motivation for what she did!! There were no medical emergency for any of 9 teeth! One was moving and that was the only one needing extraction!! She does not care what is best for the owner and their pet. She should loose her licence and not to harm other pets any more! She is money driven toth extractor!! Lumber who should cut trees not be near our pets!! My dog, Lucy, hadn't been feeling well and needed to be seen. I was in the middle of trying to transition her to a different vet (the old one wasn't great) and other vets in the area were completely booked. I ended up seeing that they had this urgent care inside the PetsMart so I thought to give it a try. Compared to an ER visit at pet hospitals in the area at $225, this urgent care only charged $115. Because of her current condition, they had to do a complete blood panel and when that came back with extremely elevated levels, they only recommended other tests that they felt was needed in order to treat her symptoms. The vet that she went to before, didn't really address the issue and it seemed like they were too quick to recommend tests left and right without actually looking at her past medical history. Coming to EVS was a night and day difference and I wished we went here sooner. Our tech was super nice and she brought us bottled water while we waited for them to run their tests. Both tech and doc were very patient with our questions, thorough at explaining everything and even went over charges before administering services so we knew what to expect beforehand. Having worked at a hospital setting in the past, they say that when patients and family members receive bad news, they go into a state of shock where they are listening to what the doctor is saying but it's not actually sinking in and processing for them to comprehend the entire scope of the situation. Having actually experienced that state of shock first-hand, I am so grateful that it was with such a great care team and they were patient with all of my questions and they even called the next day to follow up on how Lucy was doing. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone that needs urgent care for their fur baby. read more

I took my very old cat there to say my final goodbye. It was on a Sunday, so I couldn't go to my primary vet. They refused saying I had to go to the primary vet because they could not access his records. They made me take my cat home for another long day and night of suffering for him and heart wrenching additional time for me. I have nothing positive to say about this place. read more

I was greeted by Tiffany who quickly checked us in and brought us to an exam room. After reviewing the history from the online form, she asked some additional questions to present Dr Weller a thorough history. After a moment take my dog back for vitals and weight, she and Dr Weller came in for the exam, at which time they were able to securely perform the exam (pets don't like being poked/prodded for injuries to their paws). They pointed out what the issue was and described a reasonable and conservative plan of care. After a thorough treatment and cleanup in the treatment area, I was provided another run through of the treatment plan, received the medication, and we were on our way. I'm almost reluctant to rate them so highly and describe how well they treated my pet because it was all so efficient and well managed. And as others have mentioned, the cost was appropriate to the setting, and far less than a full-on emergency vet clinic would have been. Thanks to Tiffany and Dr Weller for a wonderful appointment! My dog was throwing up and had diarrhea for a few days. His primary vet had no appointments available, so we went to EVS in Northbrook. Considering how rough it can be to have a sick pet and how stressful going to the vet can be, we had a very positive experience. I knew my dog was well-cared for and I was given all of my options and my questions were answered. He was provided with a full exam and we were given medications to take home after receiving his diagnosis. Since EVS is urgent care and not emergency, there was not a long wait time. Hopefully he does not need to go to an urgent care again anytime soon, but I would definitely go back to this location if needed, and I recommended it to other friends with dogs in the area. read more
