We were recommended to BluePearl by our primary vet, as our older pup was diagnosed with a tear in her hind knee. BluePearl is specialized in orthopedic surgery, so we wanted to make sure we had the best doctors working on our pup with the highest chance of success. Dr Wilson did our initial consultation and he was very polite, thorough, and had a great bedside manner while breaking down medical terminology that I was able to to comprehend. He was able to get our girl in within the week to complete a TPLO surgical procedure on her knee; the procedure was a success and the staff was very helpful by keeping her comfy during her stay and giving detailed instructions for discharge. It has been a week since the procedure and she's already able to put weight on her leg; the swelling is gone, no leakages, bruising is now minimal, and you can tell that she's very excited to get moving again. We have a long way to go for recovery, but I already know that the procedure will allow her to be as active as she used to be. Reception is so incredibly rude. Condescending. After having been there for a couple of hours, our case was essentially wrapped up and I was told it would be potentially a few more hours. It wasn't true of course. Also $700 plus call to ASPCA for $110. ASPCA told me we didn't actually need to go to ER but it was too late. Our 13 year old cat, Lucie had been losing weight and wasn't showing interest in food. We'd taken her to her regular vet, who suggested she should go to Blue Pearl for an ultrasound. Unfortunately, the tests revealed inoperable tumors. We made the decision to put Lucie down, and the entire experience of a very emotional day was so positive and calming with the staff of Blue Pearl. My "favorite" part, if I can say anything about the day, was the dignified manner that we had to communicate with the staff while we were waiting in the family room, and the very private way to exit the building without having to see anyone. Nice doctors and nurses, but reception is very rude. We were referred to this office by Veg. The oncology doctor we saw was excellent! His assistant was also very helpful and kind. However, the receptionist was very rude. I used a debit card to pay for the charges, which I never use debit card and I have only used this debit card at this location. 4 days after using the debit card I have fraudulent charges against my account which Is being resolved by my bank, but I did notify BluePearl that they could have breach the same person was very short with me and defensive. read more

As a pet parents, we've brought our dogs to BluePearl for emergencies and they've always been treated with care. Most recently, my oldest had a tumor removed with Dr. Wilson. Dr.Wilson and his surgery team were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was kind, patient, and made sure my dog was comfortable every step of the way. You can tell they really love their jobs. It was very reasonable priced from the consultation, wound care, and follow up appointments; the estimate was as precise as they could have gotten. All that being said, the front desk can come off a little short or rushed, especially if you're not used to their process or what they expect you to know. Once you get passed the learning stage (different than a doctors office for humans) they truly are kind people. Where things fell short for me was with the oncology department. The experience felt impersonal, and the final bill didn't match the original estimated quote despite my dog having the basic surgery with no extra add ins or assistance. Labs were drawn without asking us (charged triple our local vet would have charged) and we were charged for an X-ray that wasn't done, which came across as money-driven, intentional or not. We did get compensated for the X-ray. Overall, I'd definitely recommend BluePearl of Northbrook for emergencies and for the General Surgery department, Dr. Wilson and his team are amazing! This pet hospital, in my opinion, seems to care more about money than about the well-being of animals. I went in for a tumor removal consultation, but the vet who saw my dog was unhelpful and simply repeated information I had already received from my regular veterinarian. Before even discussing treatment options, they insisted on $5,400 worth of tests -- and then informed me that the vet doesn't perform surgery anyway. I ended up paying $240 just to receive an estimate for tests, with no actual help provided. To make matters worse, my dog was bleeding from a skin tag he had scratched. When I asked if they could cauterize or treat it to stop the bleeding, the assistant told me, "We don't do that here," and the vet just applied gauze and pressure -- the same basic care I had already done at home. By the time I got to my car, my dog was bleeding again. I had to take him to another hospital that actually cared enough to help. I've had two truly awful experiences at Blue Pearl. I was referred to this office by my primary vet to review x-rays of my dog's toe as they were deemed experts. They told me that she needed physical therapy and were about to send me on my way. When I expressed relief that it wasn't cancer as my vet suggested, he went into the back looked at the x-rays again. He returned and said yes, it's cancer, she needs to have her toe amputated. Needless to say, I went elsewhere for the surgery. My other dog had a torn ear, and the lack of empathy from staff was appalling. There was zero communication and the front desk was apathetic and rude-they simply feel that you are a captive audience so, in return, you get very little consideration. These experiences were seven and four years ago. Fast forward to last weekend, my mom took her cat in on Saturday and was treated in the same dismissive and uncaring manner. She was provided with no unprompted updates and waited and waited for hours. Per my 88 year old Mom, there were no other people in the lobby. DO NOT TRUST BLUE PEARL WITH YOUR PET'S LIFE. We had a devastating and fatal experience here. This review isn't about 5 stars vs. 1 star--it's about life or death. If you're reading this, I hope you're focusing on the patterns of these types of reviews and not just the overall rating. We've been speaking with multiple people at Blue Pearl since they allowed our dog, Roxy, to die *without treatment* for a full hour after accidental poisoning and we want to prevent this from happening to anyone else's pet. We were told that she "slipped through the cracks," a statement higher ups now deny. And what's the final verdict? They've learned nothing and have no plans to change how they operate. Matthew was the only reasonable management level person we spoke with. We were met with callousness from the higher levels. So let me be clear: My family and I will NEVER set foot in any Blue Pearl again. If you need emergency care, go to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) or the new emergency vet in Glenview. In fact, we later spoke with VEG about Roxy's situation (without telling them how it was handled elsewhere), and it was obvious they are far more prepared to handle a range of poisonings. Blue Pearl, on the other hand? They only really know how to treat chocolate and raisin toxicity. ROXY'S STORY - HOW BLUE PEARL FAILED HER On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, we came home to find that Roxy had accidentally gotten into her Proin medication (a common incontinence drug for dogs). We immediately called Blue Pearl, who told us to contact ASPCA Poison Control and start heading over--so we did. When we arrived, Roxy was still completely normal. No symptoms yet. We got there fast--probably no more than 40 minutes of ingestion. We asked them to induce vomiting or administer activated carbon, as the symptoms had not appeared yet. They took her back right away. Then an hour passed. When we asked for an update, they finally brought her out to us--but by then, she was behaving rabidly from the medication. And we found out they had done nothing in that hour to treat her. The reason provided? They "weren't equipped" to handle Proin poisoning without guidance from poison control. But poison control was backed up (Halloween rush, apparently). So what did they do? Nothing. By the time they finally got poison control on the phone, Roxy had already spiked a dangerously high blood pressure, developed blue gums, and needed oxygen. After nearly two hours, we were finally told she likely wouldn't survive--and if she did, she'd have lasting complications. They had time to save her. They refused to administer activated carbon (this is a known mitigator for Proin overdose). They ignored our request and instead they neglected her. To make matters worse, one of their own staff later admitted that Roxy may have just been forgotten while they were busy with other patients. Meanwhile, Blue Pearl's own policies list poisonings as a high priority. After hearing from the management that there were a number of errors made that night with Roxy, head vet Jordan (who wasn't present that night) called us and denied any wrongdoing. They would rather see a pet die waiting on hold for poison control to tell them what to do if it takes even the slightest risk away from the vets themselves. I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE AVOID THIS NIGHTMARE: - DO NOT go to Blue Pearl. - Wherever you go, call ahead and confirm they are actually equipped to handle your pet's specific emergency. I guess it is the NorthShore and we need to justify a big salary and high real estate for this place but yeah.... This is involving a creature who is part of your family.... The staff was very cold and sorry that quote was insane. I have also been to the BluePearl in Skokie. If you find yourself in a financial pickle and you can drive to these locations, obviously NOT an option in some emergency situations.....BUT if you can, check out these places: they are worth the trip. I have a dog who had a tick and ended up with an autoimmune situation. $3500 paid to BluePearl here for just an antibiotic but quoted $13,000 for antibiotics, testing a a few days stay which I could NOT afford at that time and we went on our way. 1. Bowes Animal Hospital in Elgin just did dentistry on my poor baby when no one else would take her. They were affordable, competent, transparent, compassionate and made me feel at ease. 22 extractions and she is doing great! This is a 3 doctor place that is independently owned and operated. Delightful doctors, techs and office staff. They are wonderful!!! 2 hour drive 1 way. We will be driving back there next year for an annual checkup. 2. Premier Animal Emergency Hospital Ethos on Belmont in Chicago. This has been her "regular vet" since they have an internal medicine specialist since no one nearby seems knowledgeable about what her autoimmune situation is all about. Testing is much more affordable, kind and compassionate staff. I completely forgot this place did a crazy complicated surgery on my old JRT a decade and a half ago on his broken leg and involved 63 pins... My beloved dog literally ran full tilt on that leg until the day he died. 3. Rockford Emergency Animal Hospital in Rockford Illinois. My baby spent multiple nights over the course of a month when all of this started a few years ago to figure out what to do to help her. This is a 3 hour drive for me 1 way. Just to be clear, all of those visits and extended time staying many overnights with someone monitoring her extremely high fever, continuous IV, an entire panel of bloodwork antibiotic protocol and when that didn't work we went to steroids. This whole thing was a fraction of the $13,000 BluePearl quoted for just the little start. Even if you tag on the $1000 in missed tolls and hotel stay because I was in such duress driving hours back and forth in desperation to keep this sweet creature alive I think I might have gone a little over $5000. $13,000 would have wiped me out beyond imagination and would have ended up being a death sentence. All the visits to the 3 above places IN TOTAL over a few years has now have come to that $13,000 mark quoted way back and my dog is stable and thriving. read more

Thank you, but not enough was done for our Juno. I'm still heartbroken. Our 12-year-old Shih Tzu Juno had been fighting for weeks. She was a good girl, so full of spirit -- alert, social, playful even in pain -- and deserved a better ending. While we're thankful to some individual staff at BluePearl who tried to help her, we ultimately feel her case was not fully supported, especially after her aspirate on 06/10/25, which led to a suspected carcinoma diagnosis. BluePearl was where we first began treating her cancer. They performed her aspirate, handled several ER visits (she went there 4 times in June alone), and provided internal medicine consults. And yes, her internist was responsive. But from a comprehensive care perspective -- oncology, pain management, neurology -- the system never connected the dots fast enough. We kept hearing "quality of life" and "maybe it's time," "euthanasia" but she was still alert, eating, drinking, walking (limping), and even sprinting on good days. Her case involved more than just cancer -- she had nerve pain, likely from an orthopedic or neurological issue that was never aggressively followed up. We pushed for a neuro referral. We pushed for prednisone. We pushed for coordination. After her final visit to MedVet earlier in the day on July 3rd, Juno worsened suddenly. By late that night, we rushed her back to BluePearl ER. She was standing, alert, fully upright in the waiting room. Not lethargic. Not collapsing. Yet shortly after, she was gone -- passing away at 12:00 AM on July 4th, performing euthanasia, BluePearl recommending. It's hard not to question everything: Should we have pursued other methods? It's clear their top priority is how much they can charge you, not the well-being of your pet. While my cat was in back, I needed to run home to grab another card for his payment so they can proceed with his treatment. They refused to let me leave until I paid the bill before his treatment, holding me captive over money while my pet was in distress. There was zero empathy or concern from the staff during this entire ordeal. My cat was diagnosed with feline asthma, and they administered medication that caused him to have seizures. Their response? "We've never seen anything like this before." It was terrifying, and they had no idea how to handle it. Despite their negligence, they didn't take responsibility, and my cat's condition worsened. Ultimately, I was forced to let him go. This hospital not only failed my pet but caused more harm with their incompetence. To make things worse, the staff was completely unprofessional. They were loud, more focused on their phones, and seemed indifferent to the quality of care. I would never recommend this place to anyone who loves their pet. Sedated my dog without consent and returned her filthy -- never again Review: I wish I could give negative stars. After spending over $18,000 here last year to save my pup, I was treated with complete disregard this time around. I dropped my 14-month-old standard poodle off around 10:15 AM for an ultrasound. I was told it would take 2-3 hours. I checked in repeatedly -- every 2-3 hours -- and didn't get her back until 7 PM. Only then was I told the ultrasound tech didn't even arrive until 3 PM, meaning they gave me a completely unrealistic timeframe from the start. Worse, they sedated my dog without ever contacting me. This was not a life-saving emergency -- just a GI issue that my regular vet referred for imaging. I never approved sedation. I would've gladly picked her up and taken her elsewhere had they called. When they finally returned Fiona, she was covered in feces on her neck. They claimed she got stressed and "alligator rolled," but again -- no call. No permission. No heads-up. Just a drugged, filthy dog returned to me nearly 9 hours later. They gave her a "clean-up," but the stench of another dog's feces was still on her an hour later during the ride home. This was completely unacceptable and traumatic for Fiona, who has never shown that kind of distress at any other vet. She has since lost weight, stopped eating normally, and is clearly affected by what happened. To make things worse, while I was waiting, I overheard staff complaining about their own vets not wrapping properly. I've already contacted my attorney, and they'll be in touch next week. I also requested a full medical record including sedation logs, because listing it under "miscellaneous" after the fact is not consent. How can a medical professional put a leash on a dog and not notice feces matted in her fur? Never again. We've had two experiences with Blue Pearl with two different dogs. The first was thyroid cancer. My little angel, Dobby, had to have his thyroid removed. The oncologist was so transparent, explaining every step of the procedure, offering us all the options for after care. We chose not to do chemotherapy, and we got zero pushback. (Two+ years later, Dobby is still going strong! ) Currently, our other baby, Blondie, has a heart murmur which has now progressed to congestive heart failure. The cardiologist is great, explaining **everything** to us, including a white board illustration of a heart. He hasn't pulled any punches in terms of what Blondie will face, but he's given us all the options at each benchmark. Both doctors have given us enough information to make informed decisions. Plus, we are given the costs of everything before the procedures (EKG, X-ray, etc). This is a specialty and emergency vet, so I know the costs are more than our regular vet, but I feel they are comparable. We feel very confident bringing our fur babies here. read more

My dog was given blood transfusions without getting a proper diagnosis which seems to have deteriorated him more than they actually helped. Of course in the desperation of the moment it's easy to trust people who you would think know what they are doing but that was a terrible mistake. Kept telling us to come back for blood work even though lab values were not concerning and kept recommending hospitalization. More than 5 times the normal going rate along with upcharging on meds. I called other emergency hospitals the next day and their basic exam fee is 60 dollars higher. Please reconsider before bringing your pet to this hospital.We tragically lost our dog less than 12 hours after he was admitted here, and we are still devastated by what happened. Our dog arrived with a swollen face and throat. During his short time at this hospital, he was given multiple medications, including: * Two doses of antibiotics within hours * Two injections of diphenhydramine (Benadryl) * Plasma transfusion * Medications for pancreatitis...along with several other drugs in a very short time period. We were told our dog was "extremely sick," yet that was the reason we brought him to the ER in the first place. His condition worsened dramatically after just several hours in their care. The hospital originally estimated a $9,600 bill for 2.5 days of treatment, but our dog passed away within 12 hours, and we were still charged around $6,000. We were also told that two medications were given by mistake earlier that day, and that our dog -- who had suspected Cushing's disease -- received a plasma transfusion. Within a couple of hours of that plasma transfusion, he suffered what they reported as a stroke. However, based on the number and strength of medications he received within such a short window, we still question whether this was a stroke or the result of overwhelming medication toxicity. What has been extremely concerning is the inconsistency in the medical documentation: * We received records stating our dog was "walked and very excited" after the time we were already notified of his death. * When we visited at 9:30 PM, our dog could not walk, could not move his head, and was not responsive -- yet the records do not reflect that. * The ultrasound was missing from the medical report, and only after questioning were we told it had been "forgotten" and not entered in the system. * Medication times appear unclear, and we were later told that documentation can be entered 15-20 minutes after the fact, making it difficult to understand the true timeline of treatment. We are sharing our experience so other families can be aware of what happened to our dog. We brought him to this ER for help -- and instead, we lost him within hours under circumstances that remain deeply troubling and unclear. Very poor customer service skills from a front desk supervisor, Carmen. My dog had a cut in her paw and I totally understand and respect the order of triage. They put us in a room within 10 minutes, and a tech went through the computer check in process. she then took my dog back to the hospital. We waited in the room for an hour...no word. I finally went out to the front desk and asked if my dog could come back in the room and sit with me while we were waiting, knowing she gets very nervous. Carmen said yes. I went back to my room and waited another :20... nothing. I decided to leave and came out and asked for my dog back. Carmen stated the obvious triage situation. I told her I understood but no one has come in to explain anything. She said that is because they were busy with patients. I stated that maybe someone from the front desk could have given me an update. She called in the back for my dog. In the middle of me talking, her phone rang as they were calling back to say they were starting to look at my dog now. I was told this from the other receptionist. Carmen said into the phone, "No she wants her dog back". I told her customer interacton skills were horrible and asked her name. she told me along with the fact that she was a supervisor. As I was leaving with my dog I told her she treated customers very badly with poor customer service skills. She kept saying, "Have a wonderful day, have a wonderful day" as I walked out the door. Horrible, rude staff with zero compassion for pets with emergencies. For the past few days my cat was three times at the ER of other hospitals due to vomiting bloody bile, having a bloody diarrhea and refusing to eat. Currently the pet is hospitalized in a hospital in Chicago. He has had all tests and evaluations done. The ultrasound shows that he has intestinal thickening and they suspect that it is either IBD or lymphoma. The only test left to be done is an endoscope and biopsy to tell which one of those is the diagnose. I called the internal medicine department in this hospital and this rude lady kept telling me that we can't get in for an endoscope immediately. That it has to start with a consultation even though we already have an ultrasound results that they can simply review. Then she told me that the earliest appt even for a consult is after one week and a half. It is very sad and pathetic that I have to take my cat home and watch him dying slowly just because a hospital with emergency room can't prioritize emergency patients and get them in sooner. MedVet where my cat is currently hospitalized in will send a referral and medical records. I don't understand why they can't squeeze him in or reschedule the appointment of some other pet who doesn't have an emergency in order to take my cat who is in critical condition, had undergone all tests and ultrasounds and the last step left is to get an endoscope and biopsy. Obviously I can't leave less than 1 star, but they misdiagnosed my dog who died the next day after they sent me home with medication that he didn't need, a bag of fluid, and a needle. Obviously when your pet is sick, you are in a state of shock so I took him home when he obviously had a couple of strokes they would not acknowledge. I'm still not sure why. They charged me $900 and sent me home. I filed a complaint and was told...despite obvious negligence, that they did nothing wrong. Our dog, Patches, was having active seizures and it turns out for more than 4 hours. We thought he was just in his postictal phase but then he started having BMs in the house, very unlike him. He also had multiple BMs in the car and was covered in feces. The moment we got there, a very nice and kind gentleman (brownish hair and facial hair) took him even though Patches was covered in poop. Just taking the initiative even though it was smelly and dirty meant a lot. I wish I got that man's name. I believe he was a vet tech. Patches had to stay overnight. Dr. Erwin-Cohen spent a good amount of time with us letting us know what we should expect. She also did call us later that evening and gave us even a longer update which we really appreciated. The next morning, Dr. Fischbach spent over 20 minutes on the phone with me (that is UNHEARD from a doctor) telling me what happened, what he recommends and answering all of my questions. All in all, we saw a lot of Dr. Fischbach for the next 12 hours. He called us multiple times and was very easy to reach. We wanted to take Patches home so he made it happen. He gave us a killer discharge plan so that his seizures would be well controlled at home. He made it all possible. We also had to think about cost in all of this and he came from a very empathetic and realistic POV. The front desk and every vet tech we ran into were also just amazing. What a stellar team. This company preys on the emotional bond between man and pet. My dog contracted blastomycosis and took a turn for the worse. As any respectable pet parent I took him to the vet. Then it got even worse and I had to take him to Blue Pearl. I was quoted a figure for 24hrs or care. Sadly, our dog made it 12 hours and passed away. Now, I completely agree that I should pay for 12 hours of care. However what do you think Blue Pearl did, you guessed it, charged the full amount. Upon trying to contact them they wouldn't return a call. Took the next step and called Amex, disputed the charge and guess what, blue Pearl wouldn't return the call to them either. I understand this is a business but to show such a lack of professionalism leaves me in awe. I wouldn't sent my worst enemy to this place. Came here with our dog for the worst of all vet visits -- the one where the dog doesn't get to return home. We'd have gone to our regular vet, but the condition was urgent. We had been here once before when the dog was injured, and were pleased with their attention. The staff were professional, respectful, thoughtful, and kind. They did a wonderful job of giving us time, explaining the procedure and costs, and letting us move forward on our own schedule. Dreadful evening in the abstract. Made considerably more bearable by the lovely type of people who commit their lives to helping animals and their families. read more

If you're reading these reviews you're likely in a rush/crisis so the summary of my review is if your priority is your animal's well being first and foremost, then come here, no matter the distance. I've been to many other emergency animal hospitals from crystal lake, to Arlington heights and there's no contest. Yes, they will all be expensive, bordering on almost scary, so choosing the right place during a crisis MATTERS. My drive is 43 minutes and I'll never go anywhere else again after seeing firsthand the difference in quality of care. For the ultimate confidence booster, check your doctor's page on the website to see the incredible amount of qualifications these doctors have. Or alternatively, compare to the doctor pages from your last animal hospital. When you're waiting for good or bad news, being able to tell yourself your animal is in good hands is life saving. Ours had so much animal specific medical training and experiences, some of which were internships, you cannot put a price on the reassuring effect of knowing your doctor is really in it for the animals. What I wasn't expecting was to be treated with empathy and unnecessary kindness. You won't doubt whether the people helping you care about your animal as if it were their own family. And ultimately that's what sets these folks apart, aside from qualification. They understand that to many people, pets aren't things to be owned, but family members to protect and care for, the same way our furry family care for us. Blue Pearl routinely reinforced this understanding with their actions AND words. We had two kittens stay at the hospital with a 50/50 chance of survival (vaccinate the second your animals can, this matters) and unfortunately this was an accurate statistical chance as we experienced. Several weeks after the events, we received a card from some staff at Blue Pearl with kind words, obviously from the heart and not fluff. Sounds simple, but when you're experiencing family and friends skepticism at the amount of money spent on "some cat", seeing the staff's words of sorrow and heartfelt empathy was a really really really powerful. I'm additionally forever grateful to their grace and calm handling of our emotions and sadness during this very very dark period. Thank you all, Blue Pearl staff, for giving our little girls the best chance they could get at life. I hope I never see you again but if I do I'll be less scared. read more

I brought my dog to the ER due to a breathing issue, complicating his pre-existing heart condition. Upon arrival, the clinic swiftly admitted him to critical care. Then the front office presented me with a form to authorize costly CPR or resuscitation with glossing for my decision. The technician, lacking empathy, discussed my dog's symptoms and medications as if following a script, even though I was visibly upset. The ER doctor later came in and told me that my dog was experiencing heart failure and needed immediate treatment, including oxygen and a diuretic IV because he had fluid in his lungs. I didn't understand what that meant as I was in shock and she said that because he has fluid in his lungs, he is going into heart failure. I was under the impression that she was basically telling me I had to put down my dog. As you can imagine I was in shock and I asked if this is what I had to do. She stated he can be treated and she proceeded to tell me that he needs to go on oxygen and he hast to have a diuretic IV to remove the fluids in his lungs, which can also be damaging to his kidneys. They will keep him overnight and possibly get cardiology exam the next day. Next, the same technician came back to review the cost estimates. The price breakout was from $3600 - $5500. I wasn't given an explanation of why the costs varied so much and why I had to pay that median amount of $4500 upfront. She stated the costs were for two nights stay and assuming that all of those treatments had to be done and this was standard procedure. After negotiating the 2 night stay, she provided me with a new estimate and removed the cardiology diagnosis lowering the price of the quote between $2695-$2945, in which I paid $2820. I initially wanted to pay with my care credit account. The same lady that ripped up my paper in front of me was responsible for taking my payment. She couldn't find my Care credit information. I spent another 15 minutes on the phone trying to find my account number, call CareCredit, unable to get through because it was after hours. But I was able to receive a text from care credit, validating my credit limit and zero balance. I also offered to leave my credit card as a back up form of payments and provide the CareCredit account once I got home. I was told they don't allow this. A supervisor was called that allowed her to send payment link by email that I could take care of when I got home. This additional interaction took another 20 minutes. I was not allowed to see my dog until I made the payment, which added to the distress of the situation. The lack of compassion and the robotic nature of the staff's interactions made the whole experience even more difficult. I called the next morning at 6 AM to check status on my dog and I spoke to the attending doctor, who told me that my dog was doing OK, but he still had fluid in his lungs and they had him on oxygen, but they reduced the level of oxygen but because he still had fluid in his lungs he had to be kept on the IV. I told the Dr at that time that I would like to go ahead with the cardiology exam and also emailed the previous echogram records that was taken in mid January 2024. After I agreed to the cardiology exam, I was transferred to the billing department to pay $956 upfront for exam. I went back to visit my dog at 11:30 AM and reminded the staff that I would like to have the cardiologist give him the exam. At that time, I also spoke to a technician who said he still was hooked up to the IV and on the diuretic because he still had fluid in his lungs. Around 3 PM, the attending Dr called me back to give me update, that he was now off of the diuretic IV and he received the exam by the cardiologist and that he should be OK to go home by 6 PM. He diagnosis was pulmonary hypertension disease and needed a new prescription medication. I picked him up at 6 PM and spoke to the technician at the time of pick up to review all the charges, since I initially paid, $2820 plus $956 ($3776) they refunded me $636 back. Despite paying for the cardiology exam and receiving updates on my dog's condition, I later found out from the cardiologist that there was actually no fluid in his lungs, and he didn't need the diuretics IV. This misdiagnosis and additional costly procedures for a condition he didn't have left me feeling unsure about the quality of care provided. Overall, the entire experience was deeply unpleasant, emotionally draining, and I wouldn't recommend this ER based on my experience. read more

Our cat just died of ketoacidosis today as result of being on medication that never should've been prescribed by the cardiologist. Our cat had diabetes and a heart condition with fluid. The doctor gave us a diuretic to remove the fluid however, this caused dehydration which elevated the diabetes into ketoacidosis, a deadly outcome. I blame them for not talking to the primary vet about the concern about the diabetes and the dehydration that could happen from the diuretic. To add insult to injury when we brought him to the ER there in the middle of the night and asked for hydration, they refused it because of the heart condition. The doctor they kept pushing for euthanasia. Our cat lasted another full day and died at home peacefully. Anyone who loves their cat please stay away from this place. read more

Don't go here! I came here after my dog got hit by a car and they said that she might have a broken leg and internal bleeding and a punctured lung without doing an x-ray and they said she'll need surgery that was 20k and treatment was 7k! And also they said she might not even survive the surgery. We waited in the hospital for at least 4 hours! Then me and family decided to go to a different one a family friend recommended but when we told them they said she might not survive the transportation and spoiler alert, SHE DID! The other hospital was so much better despite it being crowded and she did an x-ray and only a fracture on her left pelvis and she got stitches on her head, no internal bleeding or punctured lung and she's well and in recovery for 6-8 weeks and the bill from the second hospital was way lower then Bluepearl hospital. I highly don't recommend this hospital! read more
