Dr. Hannah's approach was to deal with healing the skin barrier using OTC supplements plus prescription shampoo, and occasional cytopoint injections as needed for licking and scratching. It is 1 1/2 mos. later and the difference in his coat is amazing! Hair is starting to grow in nicely the sparser areas and sores are virtually nonexistent. Thankfully, after calling a few of the area vet offices and experiencing the lack of professional and caring customer service they each had to offer, I called Care. Best thing that happened that day. I set an appointment and from the time I walked in the door I was happy. First and foremost is a beautiful sunny open waiting room. You will be greeted by super friendly, but most of all caring, reception staff. Then once in the exam room you will work with the techs and doctors of Care. Let me tell you, they're the best. They treated my dog like he was one of theirs, they were sweet and doting on him the whole time. Dr. Quicho is wonderful, extremely personable and down to earth, she explains things thoroughly as well as in layman's terms, so that you understand completely the care they're giving your pet. And that care is top notch! I have followed up since the visit, even including a rather lengthy phone call where I asked a hundred questions, and each time I get the same level of attention, care, and service. Thank you, Care. We just moved to town and we are not current patients. Our Howard had been struggling for several months and we called to make his final appointment and they treated us and more importantly him with such care, respect and love. I can't tell you how peaceful this experience was. We have put down another dog at a different facility in Arizona and it was traumatic for the whole family. We made one phone call to companion animal hospital and they immediately treated him like one of their own and made us a same day appointment. There was dim lighting, goodbye Hershey kisses and a can of cheese. Our dog was a part of our family and for strangers to treat him with dignity and love was the best thing that could have happened to us in this situation. Thank you SO much. Truly. I can write as many reviews as I can but it will never be enough to give my gratitude.

They told me multiple times to put her down, that she looked so sick and was old and that they'd even financially help me to put her to sleep just because I couldn't afford it. She is a young cat!!! I took her to a different place where they gave her meds and actually helped and said "this kitty doesn't even look close to dying". she's doing better and i'm glad the new vet gave her a chance. The receptionist are nice, but I wouldn't recommend. Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean you should kill your pet. Everyone deserves a chance!!!! Money hungry corporations, that's all they care about.

In 1 month, Dr Joe, has found and fixed problems that the other hospital neglected to find. Her dog has had a peeing problem for over 10 years and the other hospital couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. They did blood work but never a X-ray. Years have gone by and he's gotten worse. My poor grandparents were on the floor endlessly scrubbing his accidents, FOR YEARS! Until one day, my grandma got pissed off enough and decided to look for someone closer. That's when she found Dr joe ! In 1 month, they've figured out his problem and already having a plan on treatment. This poor dog has lived w Kidney stones for 10 years without being diagnosed by the other hospital. My grandma is heart broken over never getting a 2nd opinion and just trusting the 1st vet, his whole entire doggie life. My grandparents are retired and live on a fixed income, in SaddleBrooke Farms. This animal hospital, gives seniors, from SaddleBrooke a discount on their bill!!!!!!! LIKE, WHO DOES THAT ANYMORE ?! I know a handful in the area that doesn't, including the old animal hospital she went to for so many years. We have asked for discounts for years over there. Being on a fixed income and my grandma having a big heart w rescuing animals, needed a break sometimes. But, they never gave it to her. My grandparents couldn't be any happier, right now.

I moved to Illinois in July and took my 18 year old cat here to get him established with a vet in…read morethe area. The first visit was ok, as it was just a recheck. Early September, my Bear (who has CKD) started vomiting. It took me almost a week to get an appt with another vet there. By the time he went for the visit the vomiting had stopped. I asked to have blood work done to check his kidney values and the vet told me that the results were similar to his values from June that had been taken before our move. But after checking at home, they were not. I wanted his BP tested also and they could not do it because the machine was not working properly. I was told that the blood work would show his potassium levels, as he does have low potassium. But when the results were processed the vet said "of that test didn't include the potassium?" She told me his phosphorus was high but did not seemed concerned about that at all and did not suggest any additional medications or suggest to give him fluids at the office. I was told, just come back in 6 months. I feel like this place did not want to be bothered by trying to make an 18 year old cat comfortable since they knew he would not be a long term patient. I was very disappointed in the lack of concern for my senior cat. They did not suggest for me to bring him back for the BP test or give me any options of how we could make him more comfortable. 5 days later, I took him to an urgent care clinic in Libertyville and had a totally different experience. They ran blood work again and told me that he is in end stage kidney failure. They gave him Cerenia for the nausea, SubQ fluids and I was told to order something from Chewy to help decrease his phosphorus levels. This place was fantastic and I wish I would go to them for all of my pets needs. I have two other young cats and will definitely be taking them to someone other that Village Veterinary Clinic.
