This place has a significant wait time, but is quintessential and recommended heavily by any Ottawa local. The drinks are made with high quality ingredients, and the staff are very friendly. If you enjoy seafood, there is lots of grilled fish and items. The price is a bit surprising for some food, such as mashed potatoes/grilled vegetables can easily be overpriced. All the food is tasty, but leans a bit unworthy from the cost for what you get perspective.

I would give this place a 10/10 stars if I could. If you are a seafood lover, this is the place to go. We went on a busy Friday night and got served in a timely manner. The food is delicious!!! We had the seafood platter, fries, salad, halloumi and pork souvlaki. Top notch service and top notch food.

Today was very disappointing. We ordered the full chicken full salad and lemon potatoes (first time trying) we usually get the feta fries. The salad ($26) was serve with old tomatoes. Soft and had a strange taste. When tomatoes go bad you can tell. Not what I would be expecting from this place. First time the salad is left untouched. The chicken ($48) was cold but that happens with take out, it was still tasty like always. As for the potatoes they we're not even fully cook. The first bite I took the middle was crunchy hard. Thinking it was only that one, I took others to try. We had about 8 potatoes, piece the 3 that were bigger all not cooked. The 3-4 smaller one we're ok. $15 for the lemon potatoes. I would not recommend. Evoo is a treat for me but that $120 was not well spent this time.

We came here today for the first time . The waitress recommended the feta fries and it was delicious !! The greek salad is authentic . We also got the pork souvlaki and chicken . The chicken was juicy and pork great flavor . The mushrooms are awesome too . We would definitely come back !

Our friend brought us here on Sunday. Unfortunately, the music was really loud and it was difficult to hear ourselves talk, or hear the waiter. We asked them to turn it down, but they just shrugged. Maybe they didn't hear us. Other than that, the service and food were good. We ordered the chickpea fritters and baked feta and cocktails for appetizers. The baked feta is really generous - there were three of us and I definitely had more than my share! It comes with chopped red peppers and is really flavourful. For the main, we weren't sure how much food to order, so we started off with the halloumi salad for sharing and the grilled calamari. The calamari was a bit weird - it wasn't quite chopped up; it was sort of half-sliced here and there, so you had to tear it apart and it wasn't great for sharing. If it had come in rings, maybe it would be better. The grilled halloumi salad was pretty great - I'd get that again. It was also easy to share and a single salad fed all three of us. For dessert we ordered the baked custard (warm) and cold custard. THe first one had phyllo pastry and the second one had a crunchy noodle-like pastry. THey were both delicious, but I preferred the baked custard. My favourite discovery of the night was the Croatian wine they served.

Review for brunch! I've been here for dinner and while it is good, the real star is Evoo's brunch! Unique fresh menu with options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Before your meals, they bring a fruit plate and delicious fresh croissants, bread and jam. This simple ore-brunch snack really élevâtes the experience. I've tried multiple dishes (see photos) and so have my friends and we have always enjoyed! Prices are reasonable and service is always friendly. Be sure to make your reservations on Yelp!

Great restaurant for brunch and dinner! I've been here a few times already and have enjoyed their food and service so much! Their brunch menu is very reasonably priced for an upscale restaurant, and they have a nice variety of options. On my most recent experience here, I ordered the pancakes and was very satisfied. The portion size was perfect and the dish was not overly sweet which was great. I really enjoyed the flavours and found it to be covered perfectly in the fruit reduction and syrup. Also, the whipped cream was so delicious! On another brunch visit, I ordered the chicken sandwich. Although this meal was delicious, it was a very large/tall sandwich which made it difficult to eat, especially with the whole inside sliding out due to the avocado/tomato. I was very full and satisfied with the meal, but would suggest going for the pancakes. For dinner, I shared the lamp chops and sea bass with my partner. They were just incredible. Nothing negative to say at all, they were both cooked to perfection and the flavours were amazing. Really looking forward to going back and getting these two meals again. Overall, yes it is still somewhat pricey (more so for dinner), but you will definitely not regret it and you will 100% be satisfied. Can't wait to go back!

really loved how they give free fruits and croissant/bread with evert order

We came here for lunch but only the brunch menu was available. We ended ordering the pork belly/bacon bennies and mini gyros. Overall, the gyros were really good, really liked the balance between the raw onions, the feta, and the fried gyro meatballs but I thought the bennies were just average. I didnt really enjoy the bennies mainly because I thought the hollaidaise sauce wasn't rich enough and while in normal occasion the tomato would cut the greasy hollaidise sauce, in this case the tomato just helped dilute the flavor...

We came here for Valentine's Day dinner.. reservation process was not very smooth.. I reserved online then they called many times, Once to confirm and once to take my credit card number (just on special events they do so) and once to confirm if I was ok with the set menu. They were very nice on the phone but I felt it was too complicated! Finding a parking is not so easy, but once ur there the I inside is very welcoming and the servers were nice.. I can't judge the food since it was a set menu. But almost everything was very good. Octopus was our least favourite but everything else was yummmy and you feel the greek authenticity! The owner is very friendly and he was going around making sure everyone was enjoying their meal! The had decorated the place with heart balloons which was so cute for the occasion

No need to travel to Greece to satisfy your Greek taste buds just go to EVOO! Restaurant: EVOO Greek Kitchen Location: 438 Preston St, Ottawa, ON My Taste buds say: My mother and I went to EVOO Greek Kitchen for lunch, so it was around 12 noon. I had never been to any EVOO restaurants before and was looking forward to it, as I checked out their menu beforehand and it looked Greek-Good! Just FYI - their menu for Breakfast and Lunch is totally different than their Dinner menu and many meals will not be available during their BRUNCH menu times. My mom and I shared a FOR THE TABLE House Spanakopita which is (spinach, feta & dill). This is by far the best Spanakopita I've ever eaten! Reason being you can tell it was house made and made fresh! Every other fast food joint or restaurant I've gone too that has Spanakopita is frozen-to-table-quality, which is gorse. I cannot rave enough about how good their Spanakopita is, you simply must try it! So for our meal, my mom and I wanted to share something but we did not want Gyros, well the waitress was so cool that she said they can make grilled chicken (brochette-style) if we wanted that instead of gyros, because it was not served at Brunch but only at Dinner. I was so pleased to have this kind of service! So we ended up with a grilled chicken brochette on a pita with salad and potatoes. The Tzatziki sauce was delicious! Everything was so flavorful! We expressed lots of "Yum's, OH's and Mummm's". Service: My first experience at EVOO was very good. Our waitress was kind, informative, helpful and on time with all our meals and or questions. The only remark I have it about the other guests, it did get loud when a group of people sat next to us, but because the restaurant is so small, you do not get a lot of privacy or space between tables. So keep that in mind. When that large group left, my experience was more enjoyable as the other guests were talking at a reasonable volume. I had a nice time and I will return 4-Sure! Price Point: So the 1 Brunch Spanakopita was $11.00 CAD. The 1 Brunch Pork Gyro (that is what she put on the BILL for our grilled chicken brochette on pita) was $15.00 CAD. Now each of these individual meals can easily serve 2 people, so sharing is encouraged if you're on a budget. We were 2 people and it was plenty filling! EVOO is not a cheap place to eat. Having Dinner there will cost from $18.00 CAD for Calamari, Entrees are $37.00 CAD for Lamb Chops or $23.00 CAD Chicken Paidakia-Spasti Kota. Keep in mind if you want to drink Beers are $7.00 CAD, Sparkling Wine (glass) is $9.00 and so forth, so the Bill can add up quickly. This is a special occasion restaurant, or if your wallet can allow it, a DATE NIGHT go-to! Take-a-way: By-far one of the best Greek restaurant's in Ottawa! It's not super formal at Brunch but the place will make you feel like wearing your Sunday's best. Go there to treat yourself to authentic Greek food if you can't travel to Greece! I know I did!

Grilled chopped chicken ... full of bones and ligament
    Nora A.

I came here on Saturday morning for brunch with my friends after hearing great things about this place. I decided to order the "Grilled Chopped Chicken" lunch plate as I was told it was chopped pieces of chicken breast by our server. Well... guess what? It's not. Not only was it fried...but I was extremely disappointed that the "grilled chopped chicken" was in fact pieces of chicken wings and drumsticks with bones and ligaments. How misleading!! I do not like to have to pick apart my food and would have never ordered this had I known this was the case. Not only was I mislead but when I told the server who brought out our food, she did not even apologize for the confusion or offer me a replacement. While I was willing to forgive the slow service, as I understood some staff members were fairly new, I would not come here again.

    Gerardo D.

Small cozy restaurant, excellent service, plenty of authentic Greek food. What more can you ask for? They even have Greek wines, which i had not tried before. I then had an Agave Go mixed drink made from Tequila, which was very good. i was with a group, we got a lot of food to share. Everything was great: the hummus, salad, meats, etc. I especially liked the calamari and the chicken. I was expecting the pork souvlaki to be the best, but no, the chicken won. Worth giving it a try.

I went pretty early both times and I was the first or second table there. I ordered the Trio Sante (a combination of yogurt, fresh fruit, and house-made granola) on my first visit and the ARC French Toast on my second. Both were excellent - I even dreamt about the french toast for awhile after =P There was just something about the contrast between the soft, rich, custard-like interior and the crunchy, oat-encrusted exterior in combination with a delicate spice, warm maple syrup, and tangy citrus butter... yum. To drink, I tried the drip coffee and a latte - both were average. The decor is modern and clean lines, with some elements from nature. It's bright and sunlight streams in from the windows. Basically, a great setting for a relaxing breakfast. Keeping in mind that both times I was one of only a few people there, service was appropriately attentive - i.e., there when it was necessary and not over bearing. Prices were on the high side, but probably on par with what would be expected in a hotel restaurant. I would come here again if I were staying at the hotel but, truth be told, there are other breakfast/brunch places in Ottawa that are higher on my list of places to go.

I was SO stoked to finally visit the Moonroom after seven or so years of wanting to go!…read more After a Saturday night at Bluesfest, we waited somewhere else for about half an hour before they told us the kitchen was backed up, so we walked down Preston and I was so glad the Moonroom was still open. We didn't get there until about 12:30am and it was pretty full. We didn't leave until maybe 2:30am and it was still pretty full considering the time. They're not normally open this late, but it seems like a lot of the businesses on Preston decided to stay open later to catch the post-Bluesfest crowd. Good call! We decided to sit inside since there was an empty table, otherwise I would've liked to sit out on their back patio, which looked really pretty with the lights. Inside was a nice vibe though, too. It's small/narrow, dimly lit, with sheets covering the different coloured ceiling lights, and candles on the table. It's very intimate and pretty romantic. We sat close to the bar and there was another party of two beside us. The music was a bit louder so we couldn't really hear the other table's conversations, but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. They were playing the Bee Gees when we walked (danced) in, so we were really about the jams. My husband got a rotating draught IPA by Daft Brewing, can't remember which one it was. I got the Jill Collins, which had Tanqueray Gin, Affino Limone, fresh lemon and mint, cane syrup, and a Moon soda top. It was super refreshing, bright, and not too sweet, which is exactly what I wanted. We shared/I mostly ate the "OG Grilled Cheese" and "Panzanella-esque Salad". The grilled cheese had aged Balderson and cream cheeses in a crunchy baguette smothered in toasted garlic butter, served with Moon ketchup. It was exactly as described, with very crunchy, buttery garlic bread and creamy cheese. The Moon ketchup is made in-house, thinner and chunkier than processed, store-bought ketchup, with stronger flavours. It was okay, but I didn't need to dip much in the ketchup because I really enjoyed the sandwich and it was on the saltier side itself. Because it was a lot creamier than gooey, I'd say it was more of a sandwich than a grilled cheese, but still very tasty. I really am not a huge fan of salad in general, but I can't complain when it was burrata on top. It also had salty bread, arugula, roasted tomatoes, fresh peaches, herbs, and honey. The peaches were more firm than ripe and juicy, which was good for a salad, though I wish they were a bit sweeter. The burrata wasn't creamy inside like I expected, but I love cheese in any form. I really don't know what possessed me to get salad, especially after a bunch of drinks in the wee hours of the night, but my body thanked me later. Salty, bitter, a little sweet, fresh, and not heavy, even with (more) bread and cheese. It was great. They unfortunately ran out of the affogato, which probably would've convinced my husband to stay longer. Too bad. The vegan dark chocolate gelato from Farinella that they put in it sounded amazing. The beer was $10.50, my cocktail was $19, grilled cheese $16, and salad $17, which was pricey. BUT, the fresh herbs are from their garden on the back patio, they make their own soda and ketchup (among other things), everything was delicious, and even late at night the cocktails and dishes were still well put together and tasted great, plus I finally came here after so long. No regrets! Our server was super nice, same with owner and one of the bartenders, who even popped over and sat with us for a bit to chat. And not in a weird/creepy/in-your-face way lol she was cool. She was the one who greeted us when we came in and said bye to us on our way out. There's no flash photography (I forgot to turn my auto flash off for my salad, sorry!). They're open all week from 5pm to 2am, no reservations, no large groups, and no phone (just stop by). I wasn't sure if it would meet the high expectations and hype I had built up in my head after waiting so long to visit, but it totally did. It's such a nice spot, we had an amazing time, and we will definitely be back!
