Wow! Amazing spot for Greek tapas. We came by for a team lunch and chose 6 dishes for the table to share. We also got two pitchers of sangria and they were absolutely delicious. The food was stunning - compliments to Zach! Pita and dip - pita was warm, toasted and went so well with the dips! I loved the spicy dip. Great kick from the red peppers. Beet towers - absolutely gorgeous. Loved the beet wheels layered with garlic yogurt. Ouzo shrimp - so fun! Flambéed table side with ouzo! One of my favorite dishes - shrimp was bouncy and flavourful. Chicken meatballs - another favorite. Really flavourful chicken meatballs with a delicious sauce. Mushroom gnocchi - wow, loved the creamy Gorgonzola sauce with the mushrooms and topped with feta cheese. I could eat a whole bowl! Fish tacos - perfectly fried cod on top of homemade corn tortilla. This is a very interesting concept for a restaurant. It is nice to have a place that serves things to be shared as everything comes with 2 of the same item on a plate. If you were with an uneven amount of people, it may be a bit trickier but still worth trying. They were really great with nut allergies which we were grateful for. I had such high expectations for this restaurant but was unfortunately slightly let down ! I love small plate restaurants, but overall the Aroma Meze seems to offer too much range in options without excelling in any cuisine. I had ordered Spanakomizithra, Shashuka, Lamb Sliders, Open faced chicken, Spanakopitas, Shrimp, Gnocchi Gorgonzola. Spanakomizithra - the dip was very spinach focused, and didn't have much red pepper taste which I was looking for. the pita also felt very store bought and average. would have loved more flavour in the dip, and maybe some flavoring/spices on the pita. Shashuka - the egg was aggressively overcooked. the sausage was quite good though Lamb Sliders - the lamb was quite dry also I don't think having a lamb patty that thick on thin pita circles really works, the structural integrity of the slider was a nightmare open faced chicken - it was fine! pretty average spanakopitas - very flaky which was nice and good filling shrimp - great presentation where they flambéed it table side! gnocchi gorgonzola - probably my favorite dish unfortunately the portion was so small! I am glad I went and was able to experience the small plate style, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be returning. read more

A small tapas restaurant with a concept that produces a bite of each dish for each person. We had the beetroot towers, ouzo shrimp, dolmades, lamb tacos, moshari ginger and kotopulo agolemono. Great neighbourhood restaurant. Each plate has 2 servings so for a group of 4 or 6 you need to order two or three, etc. The menu is divided into 3: from the garden, from the sea, from the land. They also have about 4 different dips listed. We got 2 dishes from each section, so 6 different items, plus dips and pita. The dolmades were delicious and ive never had them in a sauce before, very good! Also excellent was the eggplant rolled up with cheese - I'd come back just for these!!! We also had fish tacos, lamb sliders, falafel and the chicken dish. Everything was really tasty and yummy! This place was busy for a mid-week, so I'd advise making a booking. I booked a table with a friend for the patio. Little did I know, the patio did not necessarily mean the two nice tables in the front. They walked us to the back, where there were tables in the parking lot. I totally understand that people were doing this when indoor dining was closed due to covid, and decorating to allow more patio seating but there was minimal decoration and we were literally sitting in a parking lot. On the upside, they are dog friendly, and did offer our dogs some water without us asking which was nice. We ordered several dishes to try: phyllo pastry platter, lamb sliders, Gorgonzola gnocchi, charred octopus, char grilled cremini mushrooms and a Greek salad. The overall issue was that nothing was particularly amazing, although I should add that nothing was terrible either. Most dishes were ok, but all mediocre. The phyllo pastry and cremini mushrooms were ok. The lamb sliders were definitely not the best I had and not that memorable. The gnocchi might have been the best dish I had at Aroma meze but again, not the best I've ever had. The salad was a typical Greek salad. And the octopus was probably the worst. It was not charred and crispy enough, and I feel like it wasn't boiled long enough before charring because it was not tender. It was actually a bit tough. Sadly I think we have made better octopus at home. I was looking forward to the octopus here, and unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment! Aroma is the type of place where you can feel like you are being cooked by your own personal professional chef. I been here 4 times already. My first time my friend brought me here and we stayed for 4 hours just eating and being merry. What aroma brings to the table besides quality tapas dishes is the natural evolution of an intimate evening or a lunch session. I want to say this is due to the layout and the how the owner, Zack has set it up. I brought my mom here as my star guest, she felt like having lamb and I remembered that they several lamb dishes here. The menu is extensive and there are dishes for everyone. Zack recommends 3 dishes per person as it is a tapas place and dishes are meant to be shared. My mom and I ended up ordering 8-9 dishes? Just because of our gluttony. I found the portions to be decent sized. I don't remember all the names of the dishes that we ordered. But everything was incredibly tasty and well presented. We came to Aroma Meze to celebrate my birthday, although we didn't make a big deal out of it, or tell the staff since I prefer to celebrate low key. This was our first time here, and I'm just going to say that it was simply amazing! The service, ambiance and the food all combined were all a winning combo! As you can tell, the menu is pretty extensive, and there are lots of options. When speaking to the waiter, he told us that different people have different favourites, and there's no one special item that's a hit, since it varies. After eating here, and comparing what I liked with some friends, I would have to completely agree when saying that different people might like different items. With this in mind, I'll still share what we thought of the dishes. In terms of how many items to order, the waiter recommended 5-6 food items for two people, which was bang-on. We ordered 6 food dishes and one dessert. Give yourself a good two hours to enjoy the meal slowly. Make sure you go with someone you can talk to for that long! hahaha... Out of all the dishes we tried, the most insanely, tasty, mouth-watering dish was the shrimp gnocchi hands down! I'd recommend this dish to everyone. The sauce was absolutely delicious, and the shrimp and gnocchi were perfect. Make sure you get this! Remember not to confuse it with the other shrimp dish. The next best dish was definitely the seared haloumi! If you've never tried haloumi, this is the best way to try the cheese. We also ordered the Spanikomizithra dip, greek poutine, rosemary scallops, pulled lamb tacos, seared halloumi and for dessert we had a half-order of creme brule and a half order of baklava. The dishes which we liked were the dip, poutine and scallops, but the pulled lamb tacos didn't really do anything special for us. For dessert, the creme brule was really great, we preferred that over the baklavas. I really can't wait to go back and try some more of their menu items! Also, our waitress, Ana, who's also the dessert chef, was really accommodating and fun to chat with throughout the night. She also overheard that it was my birthday somehow (sneaky!) and told us that dessert was on the house, which was really sweet of her. Overall, I'd highly recommend coming here for any occasion, you won't regret it, and make sure you order the shrimp gnocchi!! read more

I really like this place. I have gone twice in the last 2 1/2 months. It's small plates, and unfortunately, they kind of insist on bringing a portion for each person, but you really can split most things, like the lamb cigars, the sausage in fennel and orange, the halloumi (really big chunks of cheese). It is not your run of the mill Greek food at all and I find myself trying things I've never heard of or seen on other Greek Restaurants' menus. Their octopus dish for example, is delightful. The ambiance is really nice and dont' be fooled: the small front room is not all there is. There is a much larger room at the back where we prefer to sit. It's much quieter than the front room where the tables are bit closer together and the noise resonates a bit. My favourites are the grilled halloumi, the loukinades (the sausage with fennel and orange), the grilled watermelon and halloumi salad (which they've taken off the menu with the Autumn offerings). The wine pairing I had a couple weeks ago was amazing, and it was just the house red - wow, smooth, full body. They know what they're doing! Our server gave me the feeling he was related to the owners somehow, so he was really knowledgeable about the dishes and traditional style and various things. Very attentive. I feel so lucky that Aroma Meze is in my neighbourhood. It really is a special place. read more

Its damn kind of expensive , I don't think there is a point to pay 7 dollar to cheese & olive or 5 dollar to the small amount of dip yogurt... Kind of understandable if its coming with in the plate but out of the plate I wont pay that kind of money for the 2 olive . Also , service is too too slow if you want a order you will wait for 20 min to choose and then because of the restaurant they will serve you 6 kind of food on 2 hours which there is no meaning to go if you dont have time more than 3 hours, which I dont think every one has 3 hours for 2 olives and some kind of egg plant :) Moreover , the air conditioning was terrible and I don't believe they have a vent on the kitchen , It is good & cosy idea to convert house to the restaurant but you need to architect everything properly especially the AC because everywhere was smelling burn food. I will start this out saying that I am not one to write reviews or complain about dining experiences ever. I had a party of 6 eat at aroma meze this past Saturday. To say we were all disappointed would be an understatement. I had a reservation for 7:30 and we were not seated until close to 8 pm. The party of 6 was a group of 3 couples. We started out with an order of drinks, which one couple received their drinks right away (one Cosmopolitan and one beer) and the rest of us didn't receive ours until 8:45 (wine, two martinis, and one lemonade). While we waited for our drinks, we discussed amongst ourselves as couples what we were going to order. (Our table was split up with someone that has severe allergies, and some pickier eaters). When we were ready to order, we were told by our waitress that we couldn't order couple by couple. That we all had to agree on dishes as they come out one at a time. And on top of that we couldn't have separate checks as "the system isn't capable of this." We could have kept track of this ourselves and added it up for her in the end to be frank. Honestly, it is 2023 and separate checks along with separate orders should not be an issue. This was a big curve ball as at this point it's 9:15, and we were hungry. We had to send her away to figure out dishes that we could all agree on. Once she came back we started to order, and she then began to clarify who wanted what dish while we were all under the same understanding that we had to order the same thing. She somewhat clarified what she meant, but it just made the waters all the more muddy. At this point we were all frustrated and just took the dishes as they came. The cheese dips were very tasty, as was the pita. The octopus tasted horrible as it was way too chewy (and I am not a picky eater) but I could barely swallow it. The rest of the food was good, but honestly the dissatisfaction with the service far outweighed the mediocrity of the food. All this to say, the whole experience at aroma meze was very disappointing and I would recommend some improvements and remediation for your staff to fully communicate and clarify the process of dining here. read more

So good! Our family of 4 had a great dinner here on the front porch. After ordering a few dishes, our waiter confirmed that one of our party is a non meat eater. After confirming that she was in fact a pescatarian, the kitchen tailored three of our dishes to provide 3 as ordered plus 1 tailored for the pescatarian so that she wouldn't feel left out. Everything we had was fantastic. We enjoyed the stuffed dates, lamb sliders, lamb tacos (juicy, yummy), salmon crisps, and a couple other things. I love this place! On every occasion I've been here, I've been so pleased with the warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. It is a truly unique dining experience and the staff will help to guide you through the menu from entree to dessert. The dips are so tasty! I highly recommend the garlic puree and their spicy dip. The "From the Earth" meat dishes are savoury and delicious. My favourite is the loukaniko -- fennel +orange = yum! (I'm going to try and recreate this one at home!) The grilled watermelon and halloumi salad are a perfect combo. I have been in several times including an anniversary dinner with my husband, my mother-in-law's birthday and for lunch with a friend. Yes, as noted in other reviews, the price to value ration of Aroma Meze is not very good and also makes me reluctant to return. But the food is as good as the plates are small (three per person, they recommend, with each plate averaging about $12), and some plates are better than others. The flaming cheese and dolmades are delicious, the calamari and polenta are fairly ordinary. The atmosphere is slightly uptight and could be more pleasant. But my big gripe about this place is their jacked-up wine prices on their extensive and expensive wine list. Now, like most of you, I tolerate the idea that a bottle of wine in a restaurant can cost up to three times the price it would cost at the LCBO even though it really shouldn't cost more than double. But Meze takes wine-price gouging to new heights! A 500ML bottle of low quality Retsina that retails for $5 at the LCBO is on their wine list for $22. When you factor tax and tip, that's more than five times the cost! Other bottles appeared similarly (over)priced. This is insulting! Unfortunately, tapas go very well with wine so I wouldn't go back with the wine prices as ridiculously high as they are. read more

I really appreciated the gluten-free options on the menu and the care the staff took to serve my food separately from the gluten-eaters. Gluten-free pita was really yummy! If you are celiac, or eat gluten-free for any other reason, I highly recommend this restaurant. Stand out dishes were the pulled lamb tacos, the figs and the gorgonzola gnocchi.
