They offered sweet morning pastries, there was a selection of cakes and desserts to bring back to our accommodations for later, and they offered a cooked breakfast and lunch (and brunch!) menu. The coffee was great, and we took some beans home. If you live locally, I read that they also offer free used coffee grinds to take home to your garden. My favorite part of the cafe, is that the donut flavors rotate, making things very interesting. I absolutely loved my little lemon poppyseed donut, but when the warm cinnamon sugar ones came right out of the oven, they absolutely stole the show. The burger for lunch was delightful, and the quiche was quite lovely as well. Highly recommend stopping in, no matter the occasion you will leave feeling refreshed with a wonderful bite to eat.

There were a good number of bus trips cing in and out as well as a good amount of folks there to golf from what I can tell. The casino floor is not very large but is in the middle of the property. For this event going from my hotel room to the conference center meant walking by the floor each day. The guest room was an expansive suite with a bathroom that could have been a bedroom. Everything was comfortables. The view was fantastic since there isn't much else around. I was happy they had two pool areas with one being for adults only. Overall, I'm not a gambler nor a golfer but if those were of interest I would recommend this place.

Casino: too smoky for me I can't stand the smell and it permeated all the way up to our room. I wanted to try roulette but I'm so intimidated so I walked away both days. I wish they offer newbie tables. I did however find the Wizard of Oz machine and I was hooked. Can't wait to go back and sit longer. Food: we ate at Guy Fieri's first night it was good but too much and no refrigerator to leave in the room which makes me so mad. My birthday dinner was at the Bistecca's and it was truly amazing. The dinner was great. POOL: COLD! I was so looking forward to the hot tub but it was all way too cold. It was beautiful and the food for lunch there was great. But I can't enjoy a cold indoor pool. Which is disappointing, theres always the unwritten rule (I'm most likely gonna lose my money, but at least I'm getting some free drinks) at least that's in my head lol Playing on a table for 3 hours and not getting one free drink is not okay in my book. So I had to get up once in a while to go to a bar to purchase a drink. Which also ends at 1:45 then at 2:00 there is someone that goes around that makes sure you're not drinking alcohol. Which is crazy, they can't supply a server for drinks but they can get the drink police on you! A great casino could be a lot better in my opinion.

I thought it was a joke, as the place looked very standard, but I later told a friend I had been in Roscoe, and they asked if I had checked out the "famous Roscoe Diner". I asked why it was nicknamed as such, and he said that it was a very popular stop in the Catskills. Now, I had heard of and been to the Phoenicia Diner, but that offered trendy interpretations of classic diner cuisine, while this one was very basic. But, I suppose that was, perhaps, what others found charming about it. It certainly seemed stuck in a bygone era. In fact, our waitress was very much how you would envision a "diner waitress" in that she was older, had her hair in a bun, and she seemed mildly annoyed, ha. She was sweet, though. Anyway, the coffee was fantastic, and my egg white vegetable omelet was perfection. It was cooked through, as I had asked, and was not even the slightest bit oily. The vegetables were also very fresh. The accompanying potatoes, however, were bland and undercooked. In addition, the whole wheat toast clearly used processed, packaged bread. Sure, the "famous" Roscoe Diner was conveniently located right off the highway and offered a nostalgic atmosphere, but the food was just decent.

The diner is incredibly popular, so don't be surprised if there's a wait during peak hours. Between the convenient location right off the highway and its reputation as a Catskills institution, it's easy to see why so many travelers make this a regular stop. One of my favorite details is the collection of college banners hanging throughout the restaurant. Every visit, I find myself looking around to see which schools are represented. Food-wise, the deep-fried French toast is the menu item everyone talks about, and for good reason. I usually order one of their omelets with sausage links, and it's always hearty and satisfying. Before heading out, take a look at the bakery case. They offer a great selection of cookies, including several gluten-free varieties, which is something I always appreciate. As someone who eats gluten-free, I'd love to see them expand those options even further with gluten-free bread or a few additional menu items. The diner has also added an ice cream shop behind the main building, making it an even more enjoyable stop during the warmer months. Service has always been friendly, though things can move a little slower when the restaurant is packed. If you're ordering takeout, it's also worth double-checking your order before leaving, as we've occasionally had an item missed. The building itself shows its age, and while a refresh could certainly brighten things up, there's also something comforting about the nostalgia that comes with a classic roadside diner that's been serving travelers for generations. I do miss the days when Roscoe Diner stayed open later, but I understand how much the restaurant industry--and small-town economies--have changed over the years. No place is perfect, but Roscoe Diner remains one of those special stops that feels woven into the Catskills experience. Between the comforting food, welcoming atmosphere, convenient location, and years of family memories, it's a place we'll continue visiting for many years to come.
