This review is way overdue. I started with Evolve back in November of 2020. I was 5 months postpartum, in a body I didn't recognize nor feel comfortable in, I felt incredibly weak, but I was ready to put in the work to feel better. I searched open gyms in my area and Evolve popped up. After a week trial I knew this was the gym for me. This is a small group weight/strength training gym. There's 12 people in each class maximum. It feels like group personal training classes. No class is the same. I've been going here for two years and not one single class is the same! You are encouraged but not forced or overly pushed. This was what I needed after having a baby as my body was still recovering. Every movement is intentional and proper form is encouraged. This gym will get you feeling strong and capable at meet you where you are at. Bo and Brietta are incredible trainers. They will encourage you as much as you need to be encouraged and have a way of letting you do as much as you are able. Everyone has different limitations and abilities and that is recognized and supported here. They always provide alternate movements when needed. They are both approachable and easy to talk to. I remember talking to Bo about breastfeeding when I was in that phase of my life- can't forget to mention that he encouraged me not to cut calories to keep milk production up, which showed me he wasn't just about weight loss results. Brietta is a peach - kindhearted and has the shape that can motivate any woman to train with her. Another thing I admire about this gym is the people. Every shape, size, age, color. They are all here. Everyone is positive and motivating. I've even made some friends here. So, all that to say, try this place out. You'll meet a new community of people who have similar goals as you. You'll be encouraged to move at your own pace and evolve as your body feels ready. For those mamas with new babies - come! You won't regret it. I started coming to this gym about 6 months ago. I decided to join a friend for an EPIC race and she invited me to come train with her on a "Bring your friends and family Saturday". That Saturday I had the best workout of my life! The workout itself was awesome, but what made the whole experience was how welcoming and awesome Coach Bo and all the other gym members were. It was such a fun and relaxed vibe where you can joke around and be serious at the same time. I loved being able to laugh and push myself at the same time. At the end of the workout Bo told me to come back and check it out again to see if I really liked it. The next day. I remember texting my friends that I couldn't get up off the toilet because my legs were jelly. I was for sure coming back! Basically, the rest is history. I joined the team for the EPIC race and we all kicked ass! The whole team was super supportive of each other and really helped motivate each other. Bo was right there the whole time encouraging all the team members and keeping us motivated! Every class is exhilarating and leaves you with the best feeling of accomplishment! Bo gives everyone the one on one attention during class, making sure you're using correct form and getting the most out of your workout and staying safe. The gym added yoga with Coach Darlene. I was super nervous the first time, but she is such a great leader and really helped me feel comfortable! Since the pandemic, Bo has gone into overdrive making sure we are all connected and getting the same great experience we would get in the gym from home. He has twice daily live zoom workouts and has all the workouts available through our group You Tube in case you miss them. He has our app set up with daily workouts you can do in addition or in place of the live workouts. Darlene does yoga zooms twice a week and we also have a wellness zoom available. I've lost 22lbs with Evolve, 20 of those in the first 16 weeks. Most of all: I feel better, stronger and my clothes are no longer tight. I had ZERO exercise experience, I literally never stepped foot in a gym in my 33 years. I was nervous about high intensity training and weight lifting. But I'm so happy I joined evolve. Coach Bo provides one on one attention, he tracks your food, your weight and your progress. He can modify any exercise to fit your personal needs. He holds you accountable and calls you out of you skip a week or eat some shit Every single day is a different regimen of exercises, rarely repeated, so he keeps it interesting. Coach Bo is always adding new equipment and pushing us further to try harder. His Saturday morning workouts are sometimes held off site (beach, convention center stairs, etc) and they burn 600-700 calories Regular weekday workouts burn 400-500 in 45 minutes, can't beat that. I actually look forward to going to the gym now, I even got my husband to join! Where's the 6-star option? My experience at Evolve Fit Studio has been nothing but positive! Coach Bo and his staff are always encouraging and provide great accountability for the members of the gym. For the last 6 months, my wife and I have been members and have yet to regret our membership. I joined evolve in January 2018, I wanted to lose 30lbs my body fat was 28% first 6 week challenge I lost 16lbs since then, a year later with the guidance of coach Bo I'm down 45lbs and now my body fat is at 15% I'm putting the weight back on in muscle. Bo's workouts are tough, but fun. He made a point of asking about my goals and the kinds of workouts I enjoy, and he diligently keeps track of my progress. He's done a good job of tailoring workouts to my needs and I'm usually able to work out at a time/day that's convenient for me. I wanted variety, and he definitely provides that - he's very creative in designing workouts, and in keeping things interesting. The gym is great, too... Bo is definitely a great trainer that I would highly recommend to anyone....emphasis on the anyone!!! My personal experience was an amazing one! I came to Bo when I needed physical conditioning for an upcoming state beauty pageant I was participating in. I've been going to Evolve's classes for almost two years now. I started out with the 6 week challenge to push myself out of my comfort zone and ended staying because I just loved it so much. The gym family and camaraderie is what keeps me going. You get to know everyone on a first name basis and we motivate each other by running by you or encouraging you to do one more rep or try a heavier weight. We keep each other accountable and sometimes some of us need that on our "off" days. The class sizes are small enough that we all get help our assistance if we need it but not too small that you'll feel a spotlight on you. Bo is a great trainer who keeps it fun and fast-paced, but adjusts to what you can do because we aren't all born able to do everything in day one. With Evolve you truly do evolve and get better, stronger, faster and more confident in what you can do. I highly recommend it! read more

Group training is successful because you feed off positive vibes and people all striving towards the same goal, which is evolving to be a better version of themselves. What can I say about this gym that hasn't already been said?? I started my membership in January 2017. I did the 6wks challenge and I was the healthiest I've ever been! Once I finished I lost 15lbs and lost 18% body fat! Even though I have medical issues like my thyroid he helped me through it all. I was stronger and healthier. Unfortunately I moved away and lost that spark. I've have stayed in contact by following Evolve on social media and I joined up again but this time training was via internet/virtual training. Coach Bo has helped motivate me again and I lost 10lbs in 4wks and down a shirt and pant size! I love our gym family atmosphere, the encouragement and all the training is fun. So much more to say but I'll end with that you won't be disappointed. The best investment is investing in yourself at Evolve Fit! I found out about evolve nutrition and fitness by purchasing a groupon type deal (the price for the 8 1-hour personal training sessions was ridiculously cheap). such a great purchase because my trainer, Bo, has been amazing! he specifically tailored each high intensity, boot camp style workout to my fitness level, and would constantly motivate me to push my limits. I love it! the facility is clean, spacious, and never overcrowded. water and towels are provided free of charge, and the staff is extremely friendly. I did love working with Bo and worked with him through 19 sessions-- 10 were with a Groupon type of deal and I paid for the other 10 at a very reasonable rate. The problem came just before my last session when he overcommited himself with another type of Buy with Me deal and at that point decided to increase my rate to nearly double what i initially paid. Yelp doesn't have zero stars so I have to at least give this place one star. There is absolutely no Professionalism here. The owner bad mouths former clients and other gyms to current members. The so called coach makes it public during gym events that if you are slow or struggle, you will be left behind and not finish with the team. Some coach! I was expecting a coach that is in shape and has a body that will inspire me and to get in shape like he is, but that is not the case. I have a better body and I haven't even been to a gym in a decade and I'm older. He is not a motivator, just another person that owns another cross fit gym that he thinks is not a cross fit gym. I recently completed the six week fitness challenge and am INSANELY HAPPY to say that I lost 23 pounds in 6 weeks! I just want to update my review of Evolve Nutrition and Fitness now that I have been working with Bo for the last 3 years.. When I started with Bo, I was horribly out of shape (skinny fat).. and frankly I was even more self-conscious since I am a cardiologist who has spent most of my waking hours trying to convince my patients how important diet and exercise is for long term health and yet I was clearly failing my own advice. Like many people, I didn't know how to start getting healthy after so many years of neglect... Over the last 3 years, Bo has completely transformed my life. He truly evolves (no pun..) the workouts to be ever changing and interesting (over ~500 workouts, and no two have ever been the same). He is able to maximize the workout without risking injury (I have seen a number of friends end up with bad back injuries from cross-fit type workouts). Over the time I have been with Bo, I have lost more than 10 lbs of fat and gained 25 lbs of muscle (and can now run several miles without trouble and can almost catch my 6 yr olds). Most importantly, Bo has established a culture of encouragement and respect in his gym for all ages and all fitness levels. Taking the first steps is the hardest part... I was totally intimidated to walk into a gym full of buff California dudes and not be able to lift even the bench press bar. Bo started me slowly, made me comfortable, and was encouraging / non-judgmental the entire time. The right trainer is more about motivation than exercise, and Bo has that special ability to motivate, encourage, and hold one accountable without being too much of a cheerleader or drill sergeant. He is a truly genuine person with no pretense or fakeness and he truly cares about each of his clients' well being and success. He has cultivated a culture of support among his gym members and made the gym a real family atmosphere - there is an area for our kids to watch TV and play while my wife and I work out together, and Bo's wife and kids are often at the gym along with other children. Multiple work colleagues, friends and family have joined me at Bo's gym after hearing about my experience (a number of friends plan their trips into town to coincide with Bo's workouts). Our workout sessions are the most important part of my day - it's the only time of day I can completely forget about work or life, and focus on myself. I consider Bo a real friend and I am truly grateful for how he has transformed my life! The only thing good about this gym is the people. The workouts are not tailored to anyone specific. You come in follow what's on the board . He likes to talk during sessions and make fun of other gyms and members when they are not there to defend themselves. This place is small not enough weights for large groups. If you are looking to lose a lot of weight this may work for you but if you are looking to get fit go elsewhere. What does BO KNOWS even mean ? What can I say, my body appreciates all the challenges and obstacles that are thrown my way. My trainer is Bo and he is responsible for sculpting my flabby body into a muscle machine. He is an amazing trainer who knows how to create work-outs for me that work. He will customize any work out for yme depending on my needs. For example, on days that I have Parkour. He works mostly on my cardio and balance. Bo will even try out brand new training exercises that many of our top athletes are using today. In addition, he works with you on your daily diet. He will show and tell you how to balance your caloric intake and guide you in the direction of a healthy life. Not temporarily but for the long run. So what your going to get from him is a good ear, a motivating spirit, and expertise in the field of nutrition and fitness.
