I don't usually write reviews but I have to come on here and write how happy I am with place. I get my hair done with Makenzie and she always does an amazing job. When I first went to her I had lightened my hair somewhere else and they fried my hair. It was so damaged but with 2 visits with Makenzie my hair was so much better. While on vacation I made the bad dissicion to go to a different salon and again my hair got damaged. I just went back yesterday with Makenzie and I got an olaplex treatment and hair cut and now my hair feels great. I will never make that mistake and go with some else again. read more

I had such a great experience with this salon, especially with my stylist Rodilyn. She was so personable and friendly. I really felt like she took her time and really went out of her way to make sure to answer any questions I had. She made the whole experience enjoyable. I appreciated how they discussed with me exactly what I wanted for my hair. I initially scheduled a Brazilian blowout, but didn't realize with my curl it wouldn't fully straighten. They discussed with me all my other options for straightening. I found this salon on Facebook and decided to have my color fixed. My regular stylist moved away and I have been to 2 other salons in the South Bay. The first place ruined my color and the 2nd place wasn't able to fix it. I saw a picture of orange hair that Katie fixed and my hair didn't look as bad as that before pic so I figured she should be able to fix mine. I asked for a balayage and she said NO (lol ,ok). Apparently my hair needed other work done for it to look like I wanted. I decided to try Evolution Salon based on the great reviews. My first impression was not great. The stylist was 10 minutes late and did not apologize for her tardiness and she did not offer me water despite it being a warm day. However, she was friendly, so I decided not to make a fuss and go with it. I had a Brazilian Blowout (original formula) done. The air extractor was great; no fumes! Sadly, my hair remained smooth for about a week despite using the proper shampoo and conditioner (Brazilian Blowout brand). I've had this process done before and previously my hair remained smooth for a month with the Brazilian zero and 2 1/2 months with the original formula, so I suspect something was wrong with either the product or the application. So sad to have wasted my time and especially the money that I saved up to have this done. read more

This is super late but I came in a couple months back the day before my prom and asked for a completey new color. I had like this light brown/blonde hair and I wanted an ash gray color. Katie did an amazing job with it! After many hours of bleaching and toning my hair turned out perfect! It was exactly the color I wanted ! I didn't wash my hair that night but the next morning i found little spot of gray on my pillow but I ignored it. I tried brushing my hair but the back part of my hair was really tough and it was sticky to the touch. I ignored it thinking was nothing until I washed my hair that night to find dye coming out of my hair. I was in shock! My hair wasn't properly washed at the salon and I just had dye sitting in my hair for a full day. I don't think that's normal. The color eventually washed out within a week which was really disappointing since I paid a great amount of money thinking it would at least stay in for a couple months. There is absolutely no ash color hair but now a complete yellow color. But great people to work with and the environment is really nice. read more

I had an ok time at this salon. When i came in for my consult i seen one girl (Celine) and gave her my ideas and then when i came in for my appointment i ended up having to have someone else do my hair (redhead chick with bangs). It wasnt the end of the world but i was a little hesitant because i thought that was partially the point of the consult, was for one person to get a good understanding of what i wanted. The lady who i got as a replacement seamed kind of put off by the fact that i was unsure about having her do my color correction for my jet black hair. I decided to give her a chance because i felt bitchy. She did a good job. Would i say excellent? No. Some highlights on one side ended up blending all together and the ends were about 2 shades darker then the roots. I wouldnt hav noticed but iv had similar highlights over black and they were always uniform. Possibly, if she had been the one i had consulted with, this issue could hav been avoided. Anyways so she was a bitch about me being a bitch. Understandable but im the customer. I expected compassion and understanding as i have had bad experiences in the past. I was just caught offguard by her not having a clue about what was discussed in my consult with celine. I wanted to dye my base color aswell as highlights which she said she was only told about the color correction. I dont feel freshly dyed if my base color isnt refreshed everytime. I guess she didnt hav time or just thought it was too difficult. Anyways, We used olaplex and she was very honest about how light i could go without damage which i greatly appreciated. So with the info she had about me prior i think she did good. I then got a coppola keratin treatment with an asian lady. She did a good job aswell. She cut my hair n did a fast and efficient job on my keratin. I tipped them both because i felt like maybe the irritation was coming from lack of tips or good pay lol. The price was the best thing about all of this. Very affordable! Would i recommend this salon to a friend? Yes for cheap and fast service. As far as friendliness i felt like one or more ppl cud hav used a valium or stick removed from their rectum. Oh yea and for my consult i waited an entire 30 minutes just to hav a consult with someone who wasnt even going to be doing my hair. I probably wont return here but they did a good job still just wasnt my vibe of place and i expected perfection with 5 star reviews. I didn't even make it to the salon. To make an appointment, you have to text what you want your hair to look like. It was a little inconvenient but I thought, well, at least they are being thorough. An unexpected change of event happened last minute to where I couldn't make it in. I called but soon realized they are closed Sun/Mon - my appointment was Tuesday. I received a text on Monday asking to confirm my appointment. When I was asked to make a change - they thought it was a great idea to question me and said "we don't have any missed calls from you" and after I explained it was my house line - they still questioned it. Um, when do you feel the need to question a customer to make a change in their appointment? Its not like this is Rodeo Drive or anything. Anyway, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I was going to reschedule next month but they told me they were booked lol - Its okay. I'll take my business else where. read more

I went to this salon a few weeks back and I have been extremely happy with the work. First, I contacted the salon and gave them the information they requested on their website for coloring hair. I texted the number to set up an appointment. It was a holiday weekend and she responded so quickly and was so thorough in what she was asking and what I wanted to do. She then was extremely flexible in helping me set up an appointment. A+ service to start my experience. I had an appointment with Vantha. She did an amazing job coloring my hair. I had an ombre and wanted to go back to blonde. She did an amazing job with all over highlights to make sure my hair wasn't too brassy and looked just right. I have received a lot of compliments on my hair since going there. And the price was right as well. It was affordable especially given the work. I will definitely be going back there and I'm quite certain I have found my new salon to go to in the South Bay! read more
