The Recreation Center is Amazing. There are so many things and it's such a pillar for the…read morecommunity. First off, this is a voting center for a lot of people. When I voted here, in the Senior Center, it was great to meet and greet with volunteers from the Senior Center who told us more about the activities they do on that side. They put on social events and dances and educational programs. I would have never known. There is a Louduon Rec Center Guide that comes out seasonally. Within it, there are classes for kids and adults on activities at the rec center and surrounding. I signed up for a few things for our family members and other than one event, they all were exceptional! I recently came for a Play All Day event. There was demonstrations in the lap pool, scavenger hunt in the leisure pool for kids, Bounce houses outside, dancing class for seniors, live band and food trucks, etc. It was amazing to see the facilities and use the rock wall for free. The daily passes to the rec center are so reasonable too with $6 for adults and $4 for kids. They even have family passes if people from the same house hold are coming together. As I continue to discover more and more about the recreation center, and meet all the wonderful people that work here; I continue to get more and more amazed at this place and their offerings. It's great running into your neighbors and bonding with the new summer staff from local high schools.

I was able to find an online code for a free month and no join or annual membership fee at signup. Before joining I worked out at OneLife and Lifetime in Gainesville and found this to be a superior place for the money. They have a ton of machines that are new and in good shape. The vibe is upbeat, and the staff, while not the most outgoing, was helpful. I went in the late afternoon and while there were a lot of people there it never felt crowded and I was able to get my workout in without any issues. Free lockers on the gym floor for personal gear were a nice touch. My only complaint was having to pay for the day pass. This location does not allow one to try the gym for free, unlike a lot of other PF locations in the region. Still, that wasn't a show stopper and I'm looking forward to using the facilities and checking out some of the amenities.

I had a negative experience with the owner's wife at this facility. I came in to visit a fitness…read moreclass and tour the gym area again (after visiting two years ago) with the intention of joining. However, the class was not up to modern standards. They did not use up to date lifting techniques and the equipment was subpar. I decided to leave. Later the owner, Beth, called me up and did not ask why I decided to leave during the class or why I no longer wanted to join but instead she told me they have a drop in rate of $20 per class and she was calling to get a payment by phone. I told her I was never told about a fee. Of course she didn't mention this "fee" before I went into the class, it is not posted on their reception desk, not on the door, and not on their website. I was not at a position where I could stay on the phone and told her I had to go and would search the website again to see if perhaps I had missed the fees notification. She then started getting rude with me. When I got home I searched the website again and their group class schedule and again no mention of any "drop in" fees. This place may do better if they charged a $5 drop in fee just to use the gym or sauna but I wouldn't bother with the classes.

They charge you $100 for a field that is 90×70, it's ridiculously narrow and there is no reason for you to deal with the atrocious customer service when you can go to either Nzone or Dulles Sportsplex (bigger fields, cheaper prices at Spring). Well I guess the only reason to come here would be that everywhere else is usually booked for leagues and this place is empty since nobody goes there.

First, I just want to note that my daughter started gymnastics in NoVA at age 2. She's 9 now. So I…read morehave some experience with gyms in the area (she's attended three). My biggest priority with any gym is safety, for obvious reasons. There is a gym in NoVA where the owner had to step down because of allegations of SA and yet his wife still runs the gym. I would encourage you to research the gym where your child attends and make sure there is no history of improper conduct. Gym America is a safe place for my daughter. That is the top reason why I love it. Of course, even with background checks, you never know, so I regularly check in with my daughter to see how she feels. And she loves Gym America and her coaches. The next reason I love Gym America is because they have responsive customer service. When I returned to the area after living abroad, I emailed a few gyms, and one of the big gyms in the area never even returned my email. Laura, the owner at Gym America, responded the same day. My daughter is now a Level 4 gymnast. One of the things I didn't know until the last few years is that there are two competitive tracks: Xcel and JO. Some of the gyms in the area don't offer JO, which is another reason I chose Gym America. My daughter spends 15 hours a week at the gym and loves it. I think that speaks for itself. If you are reading through these reviews, you might want to weigh one like mine a little more seriously, compared to people who have only spent a small amount of time at the gym. I've had a lot of opportunity to see what the gym is actually like. I'm not saying it's perfect, but I am saying that 1) my daughter has been safe here and 2) that her skills have improved *substantially* since she started here a year and a half ago.

My daughter and I were thrilled when DGA relocated to their new Aldie/Arcola location - quite…read moreconvenient for us. They have a large, open viewing area and plenty of space. In addition, there are several class options and multiple times for all skill levels. (Important to note - if your gymnast is practicing at an intermediate or advanced level and does not wish to be on one of their teams - it is in your best interest to first ask if the coach assigned has the ability to properly and safely spot your child.) Also, DGA has an amazing presence at all DMV area meets (State and National ones too). Their Developmental (DP) and Xcel teams, both, are a force to be reckoned with - as this is a well established - fact in the gymnastics community. My daughter had been taking lessons and was really enjoying them until she took a fall. I specifically asked the coach ( who was not her regularly scheduled coach - the class assigned coach was on the gym floor just not, for whatever reason, teaching that class.) who brought her back to the waiting/viewing area what happened. I directly asked if my daughter's fall was her fault - was she being unsafe. The coach expressly told me no, my daughter was assigned a drill (in the previous class) that should not have been assigned. No further explanation was given. My daughter had explained to me what had transpired. My daughter was in pain - another coach (not affiliated with DGA) told me to take her to a specialist. No one at DGA reached out to see how she was feeling, no one even said we hope she feels better. The entire situation was completely ignored - this is not just unprofessional; it is also unkind and unempathetic. DGA is currently and actively working at becoming the number one power- house gymnastics facility in the DMV. They should, first and foremost, actively work on improving their coaches' communication skills, feigning compassion, and being committed to always implementing safety.
