So, my friends and I had the worst trip to Oakland recently. As San Diego natives, it was not in our second natures to move all personal belongings to the trunk whenever we park the car, anywhere. Apparently this is common knowledge in the neighborhood... and we just missed the memo. So we decided this would be fun to do on a Friday afternoon, close to 3pm. The issue with this decision is that when (and not if) the break-in occurs, it would be difficult to find a means of glass repair AND we're not from here. In the aftermath of the break-in, we called many, many auto glass repair shops but they were all either 1) fully booked for the day and working through their queue 2) out of stock for the exact glass specifications of my car (Toyota Camry anyone?) 3) dealing with a glass shortage due the pandemic 4) done working for the day or 5) able to help us in the subsequent days/ Monday. Yay us. We were super frustrated - this was such a cold and windy Friday afternoon, we were standing out in the cold, scared to leave my car, were having trouble reaching the Oakland police's non-emergency line, were having trouble finding glass repair, were worried about having to drive back to San Diego with a broken window and a bunch of glass everywhere ... ACTUAL EXPERIENCE TL: DR---- That's when I came across Lito's Evolution Auto Glass on Yelp. He responded quickly, asked for my exact needs, reached out to locate the exact glass, confirmed with me it's availability and the total cost (affordable!), drove out to get the glass, and showed up in his truck at our parking lot... all within 1 hour, in Friday traffic. When he showed up, he examined the situation (ironically told us that he's had to repair glass in this exact area quite a few times), quickly set up his vacuum, vacuumed everything up, took apart my door, carefully removed all glass remains, installed new glass, confirmed functionality, reinstalled my door, polished the glass, and vacuumed any other glass bits from the rest of my car that he could find. This was swift and took 24 min (I took before and after photos, he estimated 25 min before he started, haha). Throughout this entire encounter - Lito was the consummate professional, and honestly, a Godsend in our 3 hours of need. We would not have been able to complete the rest of our journey on time and safely if he hadn't picked up the phone. At the end of his visit, we found out that Lito's business is a new one, freshly established in the Pandemic because his previous employer closed up shop during the Pandemic... so dear fellow Yelpers... this was such a harrowing experience that Lito helped bring to a close... next time your car gets broken into... look no further, Lito is your guy!!! read more

Responsive, reliable, outgoing, and efficient! The man handling the glass repairs is top notch. My front passenger window got smashed last weekend around 4 AM. My brother and some friends went out to SF. I got back home around 3:30 AM and not 30 minutes later someone broke my window. They only went through my glove compartment luckily and didn't take anything. It's the first time someone has broken my window. I've had a car get stolen a few years ago so broken glass (greater than symbol) stolen car. The gentleman that fixed my window was very punctual and responsive. He was able to get me a quote very fast and had picked a close day to replace my window. He told me about the process of finding the window to go with my door. He even vacuumed the broken glass in my car which was a BLESSING. I was not looking forward to the clean up and saved me time and potential glass splinters. Lito was prompt and on time. Called my phone at 9 am to let me know he was outside. He was very pleasant and knows what he's doing except for the fact that I wanted the wiring that he was splicing shrink wrapped or even use liquid tape to keep it waterproof to avoid shorting any circuits since I do a lot of 4 wheeling and outdoor stuff. My rear car window was a victim of a smash and grab in San Jose (why is the Bay so ghetto now?). This has never happened to me before so I was unsure who to call to fix this. I put out a Project on Yelp to receive quotes from multiple businesses in the San Leandro area. Lito at Evolution Auto Glass responded super quickly! Evolution Auto Glass has helped me out twice in the past 6 months - once with a broken rear window and once with a smashed windshield. Both times I contacted them on Saturday late morning (the first time I called, the second time I used Request A Quote on Yelp), and both times I had new glass in place by 1 PM. If you're planning on paying cash outright, Evolution is a great value. If your insurance allows you to use them as a vendor so you can bill your insurance however, you might be SOL. I've attempted to follow up with the business owner multiple times since having a passenger window replaced on my car so I can get an itemized invoice for my insurance and haven't once received a response. Unfortunately something that should only cost a $100 deductible ended up ~$400. I've never had work done on a car where I didn't receive an invoice afterwards. After finding my car window bashed in I needed to find a replacement fast. I didn't know where to look so after calling 20+ places in the bay area I found Evolution Auto Glass. Out of all the places I called, EAG gave me the best price. I started out asking for quotes through yelp and the owner Aniloa got back to me within minutes. I drive a 1988 honda so my window isn't easy to locate. Aniloa knew exactly how/where to find it and brought it over from the east bay to san francisco the next morning. By the time everything was finished I was amazed at the job he had done. The new window operates perfectly and he made sure to clean the inside floor/seats of all broken glass so I wouldn't have to worry about it.
