I decided to try this place out with my girlfriend for Valentines day because of the 4.8 star reviews they had. After reading all the reviews I am sort of shocked. People complaining about the price, groupon, and them trying to sell you more stuff and services during the original purchased services. Let me tell you about my experience. I guess we just went in on a good day? but I saw the groupon and called to make a reservation. The lady was super nice on the phone and said forget the groupon just pay now over the phone and we'll give you the same price (because the groupon takes almost a week to go through) So I was like well ok sure! So that was Wednesday, and we went in on Friday for a 4pm appointment. I never had a facial service done before. It was very interesting but felt great. My girlfriend and I were there for two hours (one hour massage, one hour facial). The place is VERY clean and smelt like fresh laundry. The massage was just the right I guess strength? very relaxing and all. I forgot the two masseuse's names but they were excellent! They only tried to sell me one extra service for my blackheads (I have a lot and never had a facial in my life haha) I respectfully declined and she just said ok! and went on with the facial and services we originally bought. We had a great experience and definitely want to go back down the road. I had an awesome deep tissue massage and organic facial here with "Lisa." Unfortunately the owner? Manager? Front desk worker? was so rude to me that I will never go back! I first made the appointment for mid July and received a call the night before saying I had to reschedule. I got an appointment two weeks later for 2pm and then called back that same day to reschedule for noon since my husband had to work at night and I didn't have a babysitter. When I arrived at noon the lady at the front desk called me a liar for no reason! I didn't complain and was fine with coming back at 2pm since my husband no longer had to work that day. At that point I should have known better than to go back. When I came back the second time the woman started literally screaming at me for the confusion and told me how lucky I was for the accommodation they made (again, it wasn't my fault they didn't write down that I had rescheduled the appointment). By this day my coupon had expired but that was because they cancelled by first appointment. I told her I spoke to a man who rescheduled me and she told me no men worked there ... then both of the other women who were in the lobby also said they spoke to men. This was my "mommy's first day out" after having my daughter 7 weeks ago and they made me feel embarrassed, like a criminal and extremely uncomfortable. I went in credit card in hand to poison Kt purchase a package (since it's so close to my house) but I left in tears with hugs from random strangers (guests) who were defending me and apologizing to me in the lobby. When I left I tipped my masseuse 25% and thanked her. The front desk lady wouldn't even look at me at his point. Very strange and extremely unprofessional and not worth it in my opinion. read more

Came with a Groupon (for either a 60 min facial, hot stone massage, or deep tissue massage) and made an appointment for a one hour hot stone massage. I checked in and received a deep tissue/Swedish massage instead. I normally would've been aggravated, but the woman performed the massage so well and I felt so good! I added hot stones to the massage for $10. She added a $3 tax for the massage and $4 tax for the gift card .. and i felt so good that I didn't even question the strange added tax until after I walked out!! Do Not Give Them Your Business! Me and my daughter purchased a package for this spa using Groupon. We informed the owner Friday when we made our Sunday appointment that we purchased a Groupon, she said that it was fine but that we should have came in and paid because Groupon takes 50% of the money we just paid for the package. But she made our appointment and locked us in for Sunday. When we arrive she told us the cost of $119 and we informed her we paid Groupon for the package and she rudely told us she would not accept the Groupon voucher because she reached her max amount of groupons she would accept for the day. We asked them why make an appointment for us knowing you had a limit to accepting Groupons. she had no response and we walked out the spa. the owner was very rude and disrespectful. please do not go to this spa because it is a scam and the owner is very rude. read more

Was told repeatedly that my 20% tip wasn't good enough. Didn't even say thank you. I think my 20% was very generous for a less than mediocre massage. If you want quality without being scolded for your GRATUITY, go to Massage Envy. I now only regret tipping at all and only wish for nobody to experience this filthy behavior. read more

I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this place.. it's quit clean and nice looking in the waiting area - first I walked in and the owner asked if I could wait for 20 mins because the other person is running behind after she called me and asked if I was going to make my appt time? Secondly, that massage was the worst I've ever had. It was rough, abrasive, and felt like she was just going through the motions.. she dug way too deep with her elbows and truly was an unpleasant experience. read more

This place was extremely unprofessional... It was a game to upsell you the entire time. They used insults to try & upsell the microdermabrasion. The facial was subpar & they barely spoke English. They laid you flat on a table with no roll for your legs & when I got up my back hurt. I was charged tax on the Groupon when they weren't supposed to.. I never ever thought I would buy a massage package because they cost so much money, but I did at this salon. The deep tissue massage was the best I've ever had. I have a lot of injuries and tightness due to sports and lifting, and this is the only place that seemed to actually know how to alleviate muscle pain. Yes, I understand that it is, without a doubt, not the most professional salon. However, for the price and the quality of the massage, I can look past that. HORRIBLE MANAGER makes the whole spa experience awful! We walked in the door and was immediately greeted by the manager Chen 'Shit' who then explained she booked us into ONE room instead of the two separate rooms we booked for massage and facial. After many apologies for HER MISTAKE, we decided to go ahead and do both procedures for two people in a single room. Chen started working on my massage. When I asked her to use the base of her hands instead of using her fingers on my neck (which were painfully digging into my neck), she explained the area was too small - we moved ahead. She then worked on my left upper back - I asked if she could switch between the right and left because the prolonged concentrating on one area was too uncomfortable. SHE WENT BERSERK; started berating me because she's been working there 12 years, she knows her job, too many complaints, you leave, I refund you, etc.! What a Bxxxch! So much for the fake apology, so impressed with the manager here (NOT). Hey maybe it's not obvious to you - you are working on human bodies which have individual needs. My apologies for not being conveniently silent for 'your massage' - it's yours because it certainly wasn't my idea of a massage. Besides the embarrassment - I am sooo glad to have gotten away before getting pummeled by this awful person. Does Chen think she's a manager because she has the title? Because she hasn't a CLUE as to how to treat clients. I walked in here and was very impressed how clean it is. They just opened so everything is new and pristine. I had the Botox facial and a 30 minute deep tissue massage. The massage was excellent and the facial was awesome, I booked another appointment for 3 weeks from now would highly recommend it. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would just because of the sneaky way they try to take your money and get mad at you when you won't fall for it. My boyfriend treated me to a Groupon for a massage/facial. Massage was nice; I loved the hot stones. Facial was decent but nothing to rave about. But service and business? Awful. These people are like used car salesmen. Not only couldn't we get the couples room (someone else had booked it apparently) but throughout my facial the woman kept trying to upsale me even after I told her "no" numerous times. And then the front desk attendant had the nerve to scold my boyfriend for leaving too small of a tip (as if we didn't pay enough already.) she rudely said, "that's all you're leaving for the two of you?" (We left 20% originally). My poor boyfriend then asked her if she wanted more and she just stared at him like he was persona non grata after that- he was even nice enough to leave more after that rude comment. Came with a groupon and had a girl named Jackie I think. I was welcomed so nicely and asked to wait a few minutes. The location is super convenient and it looks like it has recently been remodeled. I only paid $35 for a 60min deep tissue massage but was told it was a one time thing so they offered me to get a gift card for $50 for the same service next time. The massage was unbelievable and the staff was super friendly. I also noticed the cleanliness of the location and how they have fresh sheets and towels and disposable coverings for the pillows. So i came here with a friend seeing good reviews on groupon, they said they would honor the price if i bought it with them so i did knowing how much money groupon takes. I did a facial & Swedish massage and my friend did a facial. Overall the ladies did a good job as my friend had a lot of blackheads and was left with little to none, however for me i did leave with lots of red dots all over my face, i'm hoping they got away. But the massage was very good and she even gave me a free trail for hot rocks. They do try to constantly get you to pay more though. My only unpleasant experience was at the end when i went to the lady at the front desk and gave a tip but she felt it was not good enough and tried to shame me for not having more money. After i told her i didn't have more money to give to tip her, as there was an expensive surprise tax that was not mentioned before hand and that i wouldn't had had to pay if i just bought it on groupon, so i did not have any extra money on me. After finding that out the lady next to her started to speak in a different language in front of me after giving me a look, i found that very rude and disrespectful. EEK!! Me thinks not! WOW.... pieces of shit at springfield day spa! I sent my friend a groupon to attend this spa for her birthday. I wanted to give her this gift because she had been complaining about her back for over a year. As a single mom, I wanted to take care of it for her as a gift. My friend was so excited she immediately went to the location to get the massage. Upon arrival, the attendant asked my friend if she had any cash or a credit card because they charge a groupon tax & then told her there is a mandatory gratuity added as well. When my friend disclosed that she did not have either CC or cash, she was asked to leave. EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE and disgustingly unprofessional. This is the kicker, they redeemed the groupon as though my friend actually received the service. I am beyond disgusted. I'm still trying to get my money back but what I think is so disgusting is that you want to take advantage of groupon customers, yet you have all kinds of unscrupulous BS going in your business. BAD BAD SERVICE and cheap and disgusting for trying to use the groupon. If you're that greedy for money, Springfield Day Spa, you will never hold on to it. EDITED to add: after reading these reviews I am definitely going to make it my business to get you off the fucking streets. WELLNESS, SPA, SERVICE, is not synonymous with this business, you don't even deserve to have customers or business, you're just interested in taking people's money. I just went here with my mom who is disabled and they refused service based on that fact and still said they would charge her the same amount even though they refused service. It is illegal to refuse service based on disability. We will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Writing a review has never been my thing, but this spa forces me to do so. I saw this spa on Groupon which had very good reviews, but do not trust that. This spa claims to be "professional" but they are filled with workers who have no idea with what they are doing and most of the workers do not speak English, and even if they do, it's mostly broken English impossible to understand. The inside does like very nice, but that's only the outside. When I first arrived at the spa, I was first neglected because I had a Groupon. It seemed they looked at me with disgust. I already was getting triggered. Most of the employees where outside in the front on their phone, not very "professional" as they claim. The spa was mostly empty at the time I went for my massage, which contradicts their good ratings. During my massage, my masseuse did not speak English fluently and they kept talking me into purchasing packages and adding on to the massage. The massage itself was not the best, and the worker Co-Co did not even TRY to give me a massage, they were really lazy. I already had a bad feeling then. When my massage was done, I was ready to leave as I paid everything already, but the owner told me there was extra fees which clearly on the Groupon did not say existed. They clearly were charging hidden fees. Also during my massage, I was able to talk out some information from the workers, most of them did not have the licenses for massage therapy and cosmetology. I also saw next to their desk on the wall, a few licenses, but they were of the same person. And now that leaves me with one question. I originally contacted this location due to seeing a groupon for a unbeatable price. Yet, if I could give this place zero stars I would. I called the store manager to schedule for 8-12 people to host a spa day for my 25th birthday. She was initially accommodating and I placed a deposit down to secure a spot. Arriving at the location, the store manager was the worse. She was not only yelling at me and makings remarks because my guest and I were 10-20mins late due to traffic and traveling far, but had the nerve to tell us "If you don't like it leave". She not only made me fee as if my birthday celebration was ruined but for my guest to walk out during mid massage.She was not only bashing me during a session with a friend but extremely mean and aggressive. The store owner was present and all he could say was "I am sorry". My guest and I left the established not only disappointed but regretful of even considering the location for one of the biggest birthdays anyone could possibly have. The store owner lost out on 8 people not have a massage. Even though the store manager apologized, the damage was already done. I would advise you, please do not utilize this business.
