Food 5/5 - Cold Noodles, Pork Belly Rice Bowl, Pork Belly Wrapped Musubi Overall 5/5

    Pork belly wrapped musubi
    Grant O.

Overall 4 stars: Yummy and fresh food from a great food truck! Food 4 stars: I have had the pork belly wrapped musubi many of times and love it! It has got to be the best musubi that I have tasted! What a great concept. I also have tried the mochiko chicken plate which was also very good. The chicken is crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The chicken in not oily at all. I love the potato and green salad that it comes with. The food is not heavy and doesn't weigh you down after lunch. Can't wait to try the other dishes too. The only problem is that the food truck is not consistently in Mililani tech park on a schedule.

5/7/22 spicy red noodles (I didn't realize there was tripe inside) and spicy cheese pork belly wrapped musubi

5/7/22- I ordered the spicy red noodle soup and cheese pork belly wrapped musubi. The soup was very flavorful. I just wished there was a little more noodles because I felt like I had a few fork full of noodles and mainly soup to drink. There's also tripe in there if you're a tripe lover, which unfortunately I am not. I was also hoping for a better portion of pork belly. I think I ate 1 slice of pork belly. Speaking of pork belly, when I think of that I think of a thick slice of marinated pork belly goodness. Apparently Evisuya's pork belly is thinly cut, like a slice of bacon. For the soup dish, a fat, thick slice of pork belly would better compliment the dish in my opinion. Their popular item is the pork belly wrapped musubi. Again it's basically bacon think sliced wrapped around a fist sized rice musubi. I chose the spicy cheese one. They use a slice of American cheese. I think a thicker slice of a more sharp cheese would be better. Overall the food is ok. It was good to try but not my favorite.

Sorry but that musubi was not visually appetizing. Perhaps it was just the day. My friends were laughing! The rice was kinda mushy and not salted enough.

The dining area is one open area, the table setting is cozy with its crochet coaster and wooden chopsticks rest. There's an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs put love into each dish. My server even pointed out who will be making my crispy pork belly. The wait staff is so helpful and welcoming. They made sure our vegan friend was well-taken care of. She suggested the mushroom jook where they would put the chicken on the side. They even added more mushroom to elevate his dining experience! Today we ordered family style, which they happily accommodated for us. They served the rice on the side. Our menu included short rib bao and shiitake bao (vegan), ume tomato, namul, spicy miso eggplant, crispy pork belly, menchi katsu, and mushroom jook. The standouts were the crispy pork belly with its watercress tomato onion salad, the ume tomato on whipped tofu, and spicy miso eggplant. The mushroom jook is so comforting, hearty and full of flavor served with chicken confit and a soy egg. The two desserts offered are both winners. The mochi churro with kinako and anglaise is crispy, light and creamy. The pineapple orange pudding is so cool and refreshing. And, 100% of dessert sales go to the culinary team! What?! Love this place. Plus, with you check are some fun asian candies -white rabbit and haw flakes! I haven't been there for dinner yet. That'll be next.

The menu has changed to a more tapa style. We went with our two young children & they were very accommodating. We ordered a bunch of stuff but most notable was the Ensalada Salad, Croquette Cordero, Taco Raisu, Karaage Pollo, and for dessert, the Piña Borracha. We ordered some pork and steak skewers. These were ok, I would skip these next time. A little burnt. My favorite was the Ensalada Salad. The crab was sweet and the salsa opaca was so refreshing with the apple foam. Was told to smash the crisp on top and combine it with everything and that took it to another level! So good that we ordered another one. The price of this was so affordable too! The Croquette Cordero was like a mini curry ball with chimuchirri sauce. A little heavy but if you love curry, this is for you! The Taco Raisu surprised us. The taco meat was so flavorful!! Even though we were stuffed, we kept going back for more. It's like a deconstructed taco & you use the lettuce as a wrap. The Karaage Pollo came with a Cucumber Escabeche. It was so tangy and refreshing, which perfectly cuts through the rich, savory oiliness of the fried chicken. We got the Piña Borracha for dessert and that had a coconut cake, coconut lime mousse, banana lilikoi curd, and pasted pineapple on top. Amazing!! Great way to end the night. Everything was top notch. You can tell they put a lot of effort into each dish. Can't wait to go back!

The restaurant hours are relatively calm, but switches gears when it becomes a nightclub. Restaurant-wise, I believe the menu had a recent change-up to further explore fusion possibilities. I've been going down the list and the dishes have been pretty good so far; I haven't made it to the taco raisu yet, but I do need me some desserts. The picarones is like a peruvian andagi, which was pretty cool. The miso cream brûlée was from the prior menu, but also a Yes. The bar is knowledgeable and innovative their mixology- I've had the shizuku garden and that was amazing.

The restaurant was pretty empty, so we were helped right away and had to wait about 15 minutes for our food to be ready. We got the spring rolls and the Katsu burger special. I loved the potato wedges that came with the burger, and the burger itself was pretty good and thick. It also came with bacon, which was a nice surprise. The spring rolls were crispy, and the filling was flavorful. Overall, super solid food here, and I would definitely recommend. I would love to dine in next time to enjoy my food fresh, and the ambiance of the restaurant looked really nice.

Smash burger only $16, on Oahu? Was good. Spicy chix sandos - $18, had good flavor, seemed like the breading and sauce carried the seasonings and not the chix itself. No complaints from the diners tho. Tonkatsu ramen stole the show. $24 and worth every cent..I'm a bit of a ramen snob and it was likely the best I've ever had. Stuffed with tons of noodles. Topings were spot on. Broth was...deep in flavor..highly recommend. Go.

As we were taking pictures and video of the food we spilled some Rose and they were quick to come out and help us clean it up. We could not stop laughing at ourselves. At the end of our meal we were given some comped desserts as well as ones we ordered. All of the food was good but the portions were a little small. The restaurant could use some updating as well. The layout is a little strange and it is not the most aesthetic. Overall we had a good experience, everyone working here was friendly and warm. But if you read my original post, you'll know that I had and issue with their online ordering and, to make a long story short, I ordered online for their KONA store which was misleading in their website. The owner at the Kapolei store said they would remake the order, and that she'd call the Kona store to cancel my payment. Bottom line, never happened! Ended up paying the Kona store $45+ and Kapolei $45+. So ultimately, I paid $91+ for two plates. Never got the refund, haven't been back since. So I realize they probably don't care about ONE negative customer since they have so many good reviews. Like..."who cares about this guy?" So yeah, no matter how good the food was, I'm NEVER going back.
