The app I got the app EVgo two years ago, haven't used much they got my credit card info and apparently they were charging me every month $20.09 , when I noticed the charge on my account, I called them and cancel the account, I thought they would stop charging my account, but unfortunately, there were still continuing charging my account, call them again, their customer service assured me that my account won't be charged anymore that it's been closed, about four months later now I still EVgo charge on my account, called customer service back, they're saying that my account has been closed, and they can find a charge, but my account was charged from them for the same amount. It was up on cedar springs in Dallas and no doubt the owners of the car were out at the bars drinking and just hooked up like it was a home charger. They also don't tell you how much you are spending on the screen, it always says information is not available. I added just 40% more, and the final charge was only 60%. Yet, I was billed $17 USD for that tiny boost. That's more expensive than gasoline, and it makes absolutely no sense. This is daylight robbery. Your pricing is misleading, unfair, and designed to rip off your customers. EVs are supposed to be more efficient and eco-friendly--but with your rates, there's no financial benefit at all. I am extremely disappointed and feel completely taken advantage of. This is the worse possible company to charge with. Never enroll in auto charge. There is a glitch in their system where other people can charge on your account at a station you previously charged at. When you call customer service not only do that not help you but they blame you. I bought my 2024 Lyriq for the unlimited charging option and because of this glitch in their system I am no longer able to use unlimited charging. read more

I only went to the EVgo station because there was a line for the Electrify America machines and no line for the EVgo. I tried one kiosk twice and each time after my credit card was approved it said it couldn't connect to my car. The credit machine tap function was t working so I then pulled out my card and inserted it in the next kiosk and tried again. Again my credit card was approved but it couldn't connect to my car. By that point there was an opening at the Electrify America station so I zoomed over there to grab that spot and paid with my phone app. When I got home I realized I'd left my credit card in the EVgo kiosk. It never told me to withdraw my card and in my hurry to move to the Electrify kiosk I forgot to take my card out. Now I need to spend a day going through my statements and contacting every vendor that the credit card is attached to. I'll never try an EVgo kiosk again. read more

The charging stations in the DC area are not maintained or serviced. Too many stations are unavailable/not working which is more problematic because units are limited. It takes me 4-5 attempts before the connection actually goes through. Overpriced and not fast. Electrify America is the better option if you're willing to spend half the time to charge your vehicle and actually have working units. Many, many machines are out of order and many of the remaining fast chargers only charge very very slowly. When you report the machines out of order it takes weeks to fix them. Today, January 21, 2025, many of the machines in the Philadelphia area are out of order: All of the machines at the Wynnewood Shopping Center are out of order, and all of the machines at the Brixmor Plymouth Square are out of order. The Tiago CCS machine is out of order at Acme Penn Valley; The Yonatan and Donya machines at Wawa Wyncote ae out of order; The Kalypso charger is out of service at Wawa North Wales; The Balthazar charger at Shoppes at Cinnaminson is out of order; The level 2 charger at Philadelphia Mills is out of order; Both the Bethany and Josiah chargers are out of order at Shoprite of Mount Laurel; The Hattie charger at Shoprite Williamstown is out of order. On june 20th 2025 I charged my chevy bolt ev at evgo my car was 37% and stopped the charge and left at 85% my rate was .61 /kw and amount shown on evgo app on my phone was 22$ after one hour I got text from evgo that they charged me $62 for 102 kw?after contacting customer service they repeated the same info for the percentage and kw. FAST CHARGING STATION needs improvement. It's so SLOW. Out of all the ones I been to in the bay area maybe had 3 positive easy experience. Other than that, it's terrible fast advertising its fast. Filling up in a gas vehicle takes less than 5 minutes to fill up full tank. Why EVgo charging take 1hr to 2 hrs and 30mins? I had spent $400. on Evgo charging in a week. I do a lot of driving. Each place needs maintenance and reboot because to many ppl using them. Prong from the hose either broken, offline, not giving power out and extremely slow my car takes 110 kw. I have gone to the stations that gives 350 kw. During a charging the machine gives out 22-38 kw. It's giving out lower power. Why isn't there updates and week maintenance? I don't like having problems trying to locate and charge up. I recently was in SF tried to charge a location its inside a paid parking lot need a QR code to enter and exit. It didn't work. I used my debit card and when it took $30 off my debit card.I canceled the transaction because I knew I didn't to aoend that much to fill up the car. Needless to say, I called Evgo for a refund . The first representative I spoke with said 1-3 business days to get a refund.On the 3rd day that I was expecting some of my money back, I was told it takes 3-5 business days.. Where do I start??? Let me just say most of EVgo's charging stations are so dysfunctional that it's making me regret to even have an electric vehicle. Their stations do have a lot of chargers available that are always offline and without any cords attached to it, I can't believe that investors of this company are actually comfortable just having their money wasted because none of their chargers are working. At one time I charged using EVGO at Volusia Mall in Daytona Beach FL. What I found is multiple issues over a long period of time 1) most of 4 of the 6 chargers were broken or out of service. I dont mean a single day, EVER TIME I went there I had an issue . Either it wouldn't take my credit card or the units were down. 2) The chargers that were working were taken by people who left their cars there to charge and left. 3) EVGO doesnt have an idle time charge like Tesla so people leave their cars for a good part of the day 4) when I called EVGO to complain they said the issues were related TO MY EV, not their poorly maintained chargers 5) EVGO charges almost double what FPL evolution charges 3 miles down the road 6) I stopped using EVGO due to poor service and reliability, I drive the extra 3 miles to FPL evolution , their chargers always work and well maintained 7) Obviously I dumped EVGO stock, this company aint gonna make any profits with the very poor performing chargers read more

When their stations break down, they are never fixed. A pair of stations has been out of service in Richmond Va for months. Another just down the road has a broken charging handle and has been out of service for some time as well. Terrible. Reserved a charger and when I got to the station the charger I reserved was being used, even though I arrived well before the 20 minute time limit. I was charged the reservation fee PLUS a no show fee for the "missed" reservation. When I called customer service to get a refund, I talked to an incredibly condescending operator who had the audacity to pin this situation as my fault. Prior to going public it was my charging solution of choice, now I go out of my way to avoid locations, and any other circumstances where it is the only solution. 100% of the time I am on the phone with a representative trying to get this terrible service to do what it alleges it does, with simplicity. Literally no thing, from payment, to the app to all technical elements, pure and wretched trash. In the last 3 years, two out of 10 attempts and I'm lucky, and the heavens are open and manna is raining across the seashore an agent has successfully initiated a charge. A 20 min charge everywhere else, 1.5 hours with this company. I caution you for your life if you love yourself, do not use the service. I got a whopping 12 miles for my $8.74. I didn't do none of those things about like $0.75 per mile get the F out of here. Used the new EVGO card they sent me and thought it would be tied to my account in a way that I could monitor my charge progress. The app defaulted to Santa Monica, CA even though I live in Texas. "Note that I have used the charger before using the app only, so they have all my info" Called customer service and after taking all my information he told me to restart the app. I did and I was able to see my station. After a while I went to double check my progress and everything reverted back to California. What a disater. read more

In my area they have 150 KW and 350 KW stations. Yet I am convinced that their stations are rigged to charge at a much slower than they are capable of. Either that or they Target certain accounts. So I was charged 699 for the membership and when I plug my car up and it started charging it was only charging at 42 kilowatts when I have a brand new 2025 Chevy equinox that only has 2,000 miles on it and every other place I'll charge $150 kilowatts all way up to 350 so I called to cancel my membership which only use $4 and they told me oh I can't cancel because I use the membership I unplugged my car and went to electrify America and within 30 minutes my car was charged to 80% when I start to plug up my car at like for America I had 42%. I sat there and only got up to 44% and was sitting there for 8 minutes so I hope you never ever use evgo always use electrify America they are the best. Stay clear of evgo and do not ever get their membership plan because even if you only use $4 and stop to go somewhere else they won't refund your money they are horrible and thieves read more
