I purchased a Duralast battery (Model 75DT-DL, Group Size 75, 650 CCA) from the AutoZone location on Garland Road in Dallas, TX, in November 2024. Before purchasing, I asked the salesperson a very specific question: If this battery fails within the 2-year free replacement window and I receive a new battery, does the new battery come with a fresh 2-year warranty? I was told "Absolutely." To be certain, I asked to speak to the store manager, and received the same answer. In May 2025, just six months later, the battery completely failed. I went to the AutoZone on Ross Avenue to replace it (because that was the closest store to where it died). When I explained what I had been told about the warranty resetting, I was met with a completely different response. I was told flat-out that the warranty does not restart and was treated with condescension for even suggesting otherwise. No attempt was made to explain the discrepancy--just rude and dismissive behavior. At this point, I'm unsure which store gave me incorrect information--but one of them clearly did. I was very clear when I asked my question at the time of purchase, and I relied on the answer I was given when making the decision to buy. The battery failing after only six months is disappointing enough on its own. But being told different things by two separate AutoZone locations--and being treated poorly in the process--is unacceptable. I expect consistency from a national chain, especially when it comes to warranty terms that directly affect the customer's rights and expectations. read more

I've had to go here twice in the past couple of weeks. Once to get a new battery for my car, and today to get bulbs for my front headlight and for the back license plate. The staff helped me install both items free of charge! Amazing! If I took it to a Toyota dealership, they were gonna charge me $135 to change the bulbs and it only cost me $35 at AutoZone. Thanks! Shy was truly heaven-sent. When my car battery died, I didn't expect the mess that followed. The old battery was severely corroded, and the latch was stuck. Shy spent a solid 10-15 minutes just trying to get it off. Then, after all that effort, the new battery we installed turned out to be faulty. We had to replace it again. Through every frustrating step, Shy never once complained. He showed up with patience, persistence, and a servant's heart. People like him are rare. Pretty average experience and what you'd expect at an AutoZone. They are quick and responsive as well as happy to help test error codes for your car for free. When you buy from them they also help hook you up with any available discounts which is nice. They're in a not as nice part of town but otherwise not too bad. read more

When I asked if they were hard to install he called out to another employee to take over checkout, walked outside & put them on my car. So nice. Had a great experience fixing a dead battery. I was in last week after my Subaru Outback battery died. Roadside got just enough charge for me to get to AutoZone. They tested my battery and confirmed it is done. The associates looked up my model and confirmed it was in stock. Manny was the skilled associate that installed my battery. It is an Autozone, nothing more nothing less. You've probably wandered in to an AZ for some kind of car part or fuse or maybe to have a check engine light diagnosed on your car. The reason I'm giving 5 stars is for the service I received when taking a battery to them for testing. My house has a sliding gate that uses a special kind of battery which Autozone sells. Once every few months something goes wrong on the gate and I go into "fix-it guy mode" and try to figure out what's wrong with the gate. With my lack of mechanical inclination it's a stretch. So this time I was fairly convinced the battery was bad on the gate. I removed it (it's heavy AF) and took it to a different Autozone and the guy tested it and said "it's fine. It's 100% charged". I asked if he could at least try to charge it and he said "that won't work- it's already charged." He said "something's wrong with the gate probably". Eventually I lugged the battery back to my trunk and then decided to try this Autozone on Ross. I carried it in, asked if he could test it. He did and said "it's testing well. Oh wait, this is a Marine battery which is 1200 amps- have to test it at 1200 amps not 600 amps. Oh yeah the battery is bad". Thank you sir! Because you knew what you were doing and did your job well you saved me from calling out the gate company to my house and paying them to tell me I needed a new battery and paying them for the visit. Plus you were able to sell me a new battery and it solved my gate issue! I will be going back to this one next time for sure! read more

Needed to purchase a new battery, so I came here. They sold me a dead battery. Luckily, I had purchased extended warranty, so I was able to get a replacement for free. During this whole experience, staff was condescending and not helpful. Guy practically rolled his eyes because he had to look me up to verify I had warranty coverage. I understand the establishment is short staffed; however, it is not my issue to deal with - that's what management is for. Will be taking my service to another location. read more

Been to this Auto Zone and best thing out of it is the convenience beside that customer service is not that great or good. Couple times before dealt with this one guy and he's pretty helpful, but tonight was different. Ask the guy for help and he looked it up but didn't bother to tell me where it was until I asked him and instead of walking me to it he just said it's on isle 3. So I went over and there was quite a selection on it not knowing the difference between them . So I picked something in the middle and hoping it'll last. Then at check out I normally get ask my phone number for my reward points and he didn't even ask I had to tell him can you enter my number smh. Oh wait it's not over I ask him can he help me put it on and he said he can't go outside because it's late and it's a safety thing. I don't know if he's being sarcastic or what. So I ask him what if it breaks or whatever and his remark was take it to a shop. I'm like for real that's your customer service for you. Oh did I mention instead of helping he was carrying on a conversation about holiday pay and taking a vacation. I've only been in this store a couple of times. Bought some headlight bulbs before. Painless process. Went by last night to get my battery and alternator tested, and that was pretty painless too. And free! Both my alternator and battery failed, though, so once I get my car to an auto shop I'll be interested to see if the alternator really is the problem I'm having with my car right now. read more

I bought battery at an autozone down the street (on Columbia) and they wouldn't install it because they were "short staffed" so I went to this autozone to see if they would install it and they said they were short staffed too and to go back to the autozone where I bought it from. I told him my car wouldn't make it back to the other autozone and he said "I'll jump start you so you can go back to the other store" so he could go outside to jumpstart me but not to change my battery. Really disappointed in autozone thought they would have better customer service than this. Now I have to figure out how to install a battery on my own and figure out what to do with my old battery. read more

Check out some of the discount tables for clearance items and don't be afraid to ask the employees to point out any non-obvious sales or "hot items" that may be in! Very unfriendly and never enough employees to help with the amount of customers. I waited ten minutes to purchase windshield wiper fluid and I was the first person in a line of 8 people. Customers should not have to wait that long unless you are helping them look for something specific. Why would they not pull the guy that was stocking items to help cover the register?? The service at this Auto Zone was exceptionally poor - I was asked to wait 3 hours for a battery change, and the assistant manager was very unclear about what I needed done to my car. He came outside to test my battery, and showed me how everything was showing the battery was okay. I knew something was wrong with my battery, because I have been experiencing a delayed start every time I attempted to start the car, and when I asked if I needed a new battery, he initially told me that my battery needed a charge but did not need to be changed. Five minutes later, he tells me it will take them 3 hours to charge the battery. I wasn't sure why it would take so long, and when he came out to my car with the charger, he said the charge would only last for two days I was in need of a new battery. I was really confused, because just a few minutes earlier I was told I did not need one. I left, went down the street to the next AutoZone, received better service and had a new battery put in in less than five minutes! Stay away from this AutoZone!!!! read more

My battery, with a 5 year warranty, died after two years last night. I went in to replace it from this Autozone, the same location where I bought the original battery, in the evening. When I told the manager that I needed to replace the battery, he told me they would not help me remove/replace the battery and that I had to do it myself. "There are only two of us in the store", he stated. Which is true, if you only counted him and the other employee working the register. However, there was a third employee pricing the merchandise in the aisles. He didn't think I would see him so the manager blatantly lied to my face. On top of that, there was only one other customer in the entire store. He then handed me a toolset and blankly stared at me. Over the next 30 minutes, I watched videos on how to remove my battery and struggled with the tools they supplied me. They didn't even give me the right sizes or wrenches to remove the bolt that secured my battery. I went inside twice asking questions on how to use these tools. I finally got the battery out and was able to install it myself, too. However, my 30 minute ordeal could have been done within 3 minutes by one of the Autozone professionals. I was shocked that I was asked to do this service myself, considering how few customers were in the store. The manager was not apologetic or sympathetic to my situation. It was an incredibly frustrating experience. For reference, I'm a young male. I wonder if he would have treated a woman the same way? Imagine him telling a 75 year old woman to go change out her own battery after dark. Very disappointed in this service. I will not be returning because you guys are "too busy" to take my money apparently. read more

This review should really be 1.5 stars. While I do come to Autozone to buy parts for my car on occasion, I will not ever again in my life allow one of their workers to do any type of service to my car. Now I know that when the guy installed my battery he was doing it out of the kindness of his heart, and for that I am appreciative...however, his shoddy workmanship could have ultimately killed or seriously injured myself and others. When this guy put my battery in, he completely failed to mention that my battery terminals were really degraded and were not making a completely tight connection to the battery. So the other day I'm driving home from work and my stereo completely loses power?! I don't think much of it though as it proceeds to come back on after about a minute. The following night I drive up to the gas station, fill up my car, get back in and NOTHING will turn on. The key moves in the ignition, but no lights, no working door locks, no power what-so-ever. I call roadside assistance and the very nice gentleman tells me my battery terminals are loose and he will tighten them in a jiff. He gets his tools and proceeds to tighten them and then when he pulls on them to check the tightness, they slip completely off!!! Of course, this made me think how lucky I was that this did not happen while driving cause I would have lost all power in my car immediately!!! Obviously when the Autozone worker installed my battery this is something he would have noticed. I am not quite sure why he wouldn't have said anything because I would have bought the parts there and then had it replaced. This location will never again receive my business! read more

I walked in and was greeted almost immediately and told them I needed to have my battery checked out. Sure enough, I needed a new one and Jose was very efficient / friendly in helping me pick a new one & replacing it. The whole process took less than 20 minutes and then I was on my way! read more

I don't know a thing about cars, but I do know that most places like Jiffy Lube or any other of those chains oil/lube places will rob you like red headed guy that will rob you if they could. Every time I go in there I tell the guys what I want to do and they take me around the store and fully explain what I need to do, like today I needed to flush out my radiator. Get this, the guy at the Mobile wanted to charge me like $85.00 bucks to flush out my radiator. I did myself by going to Auto Zone and paid $28.00 for two bottles of coolant, an air filter and a license plate holder. The guy even told me how to do it. So there you go. In my experience, this autozone has a larger selection than the nearby O'Reillys, so in that way it's better. I know, it's a chain, but if you want to have some options to choose from, this is the store to hit up. They even have their inventory online, so you can download the autozone app and see whether they have exactly what you want at this location so you can avoid wasting time driving around. Autozone is the best for batteries. It's a national chain so if your battery ever breaks down within 3 years, take it into the store and you'll either get a free replacement or enough of a credit to cover most of your battery. I like this Autozone, they have good layout to the store and a great selection of parts, oils, additives, etc. The staff is very helpful, and they'll even check your check engine light if it is on. They carry all the big brand names in auto parts to go along with their store brand. They also have automotive tools in case you need something that you can't find at the hardware store.
