Not only did they find the right one for me, they even offered to drive me back to where my mom's car was at since the battery was so heavy. I called every day after that trying to get an update, but I either couldn't get a straight answer or was told someone would call me back--and nobody did. By Tuesday, I was so frustrated that I decided to go to the shop myself. That's when I found out my car had basically been sitting there the entire time. The ONLY thing they had done was run a diagnostic. What makes this even more frustrating is that the courtesy vehicle inspection report listed all of the things the mechanic would be doing, which gave me the impression that my car was actually being inspected and worked on. Instead, I lost FIVE DAYS without my vehicle just for a diagnostic. I work about an hour away, so not having my car has been a huge inconvenience. I've had to Uber to work or find rides, which has cost me even more money. Had I known my car was just sitting there, I could have taken it somewhere else days ago and actually had the repairs started. And on top of all of that, I'm being charged $110 for the diagnostic. I completely understand that repair shops get busy and that repairs can take time. What I do NOT understand is the complete lack of communication and being left under the impression that my vehicle was being worked on when it wasn't. I could have taken my car to another shop five days ago and potentially already had the issue resolved. Instead, I'm out transportation, time, additional money from Uber, and $110 for a diagnostic--with very little to show for it. Definitely not the experience I expected from Pep Boys, and I would strongly recommend making sure you get clear answers about exactly what is being done to your vehicle and when before leaving it there.
