I don't know how I've never eater at Parker and Otis before, man I've been missing out!!…read more I was the first in line on a lovely Saturday afternoon, but wow that quickly changed. By the time I placed my order, at least 10 other people had come in. Since it was my first time, I asked for suggestions, Randy was so helpful. I was so hungry and everything sounded really good. I ordered the Shrimp BLT, a Fluffernutter Latte and a Ham & Cheese Croissant (for breakfast tomorrow). Oh my stars, the Shrimp BLT was pure perfection, every bite. The coffee was so good. There's plenty of seating inside and outside! It's super cute inside. The store part has all the cutest and neatest stuff and the food part has so many options. They even have grab and go items. They serve breakfast until 2:30. I'm already planning my next visit!!! Shoutout to Brian for making sure I had a great experience as well!!

They have a huge variety of items--from home goods and specialty foods to books, toys, kitchen items, and unique gifts. If you're specifically looking for locally made Durham souvenirs, there aren't a ton of local artisan items, but there are still some fun Durham-themed finds. I picked up an adorable "Meet Me in Durham" sticker that made the perfect keepsake from my summer here. Definitely worth stopping in if you're downtown and have some time to explore. Plan for a crowd on Saturday mornings, but it's part of the lively atmosphere!

My Afro-Latina heart was so happy…read more I've been searching for really good Latin food since moving to North Carolina, and Boricua Soul absolutely delivered. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was on point. They were playing great music that made the whole place feel lively and welcoming, and I loved that you can choose to eat inside or enjoy the outdoor patio. My husband and I both ordered the Boricua Soul Bowl. He got the chicken, and I got the pernil. The pernil was incredible it was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The bowl came with arroz con gandules, collard greens, mac and cheese, and I chose the tostones. I had honestly given up on finding good tostones that I didn't have to make myself, but these were exactly what I'd been craving. Crispy, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious with the Guava Lava sauce. Since, I couldn't pass them up, we also ordered a side of maduros, and they were perfectly caramelized and sweet. The empanadas easily made my top five. Crispy on the outside, flavorful on the inside, and gone way too quickly. Also don't skip the watermelon lemonade, it was so refreshing and paired perfectly with everything we ordered. We'll definitely be back. There are still so many things on the menu I want to try, but I already know I'll be ordering the Boricua Soul Bowl. One tip for first-time visitors: if you're sitting inside and trying to get back outside , the exit is the same door you originally came in through on the far glass door. There is a sign, but we watched three different people accidentally try every other part of the glass first, so hopefully this saves someone a little confusion.

We found ourselves at the Durham Tobacco Campus today, and Borica Soul was a great place for lunch…read more It's an order-at-the-counter place, and our server was friendly and helpful. I ordered two empanadas--one mojo chicken and one beef picadillo. Both were crisp and well seasoned, but I think I'll get two chicken empanadas next time. My friend ordered the garlic shrimp sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. He felt like the sandwich could have had more garlic, but he loved the mac and cheese! He let me try it, and it was loaded with cheese and very good. Inside seating is limited, and we were lucky to find outdoor seating today. When you go, be sure to bring your card--they don't accept cash.

Such a gem! I loved having cuisine I've never had before…read more I made a reservation, but when I arrived, i realized there would of been availability without reservation. They had my table ready and were very warm in their welcome. I hadnt had food like this before and the staff was kind in taking time to explain the dishes and make recommendations. I have the dova rice and pili piri chicken wings. The wings were spicy, nutty, juicy. So delicious! The rice dish went so well with the chicken. It had peanuts in it and the texture of the rice was so unique. It was a match made in heaven. The ambiance is so elegant and calming. I'm glad i was able to come in casual attire and not feel out of place. It was nice to see people outside the restaurant peacefully staring at the waterfalls. I'm so glad i got to try this restaurant during my trip in Durham I was so memorable.

Place has good ambience and nice feel to it. Service was average…read more It is a tapas kind restaurant so service is different than regular places. Food is served as it is cooked. We made reservations for four and it was easy. Though when we reached it was not busy at all Unfortunately the two tapas that we wanted to order were not available may be because we were there around 7, but that is not a justification because our choices got very limited Cauliflower was mediocre with a large floret on the top of peanut/coconut sauce, and vegan crab cake was average with a peri peri kinda sauce at bottom, but corn was really good though I had to use my hands to eat because cob was attached. Goat was good with tomato based curry and have bits in the curry and pieces as well but the qty of pieces was too less, chicken wings are extremely good, they melt in your mouth..mocktails were yummy but I found the quantity very less with lot of ice in the glass... my husband enjoyed his old fashion tamarind drink with bourbon, though we could not taste the tanginess of tamarind... water was at room temperature ...overall a ok place for a relaxing dinner but not compelling enough for me to drive again 40 minutes. Place definitely felt overpriced for the amount of food ...
