Few have been able to replicate the experience, but Honeycomb Hi Fi Lounge comes close. That the space is narrow with just a few seats along the bar and a few tables mimics the Japanese experience best, where you can almost have it so the whole room is having one conversation together. The music is the focus. The cocktail menu is rather simple, and my Stormbringer drink, with dark rum and ginger beer was not anything to write home about, but $15 is pretty low for cocktails these days so I'll take it. If they introduced new cocktails to the menu with more interesting ingredients I'd be more inclined to return, but the vibes overall are pretty good and the staff really nice.

It was the Eagles or Santana (far from eclectic, but that's just me). I'm also 99% certain he turned the volume up afterwards, making it even harder to enjoy the company. After that interaction, I struggled to pick it back up with my friend, because I found that distraction very effing rude. When this "4th wall" gets broken down with service, it is hard to then enjoy the space in an uninhibited state. I am all for the Tokyo Vinyl Bar vibe, and I'm also for also giving talent an outlet to share their collection, but this interaction colored my experience, and I closed out after one drink and went elsewhere. I mentioned this to the bartender, and he was kind to offer a buy-back of a rare whiskey, which I did accept. 5 stars for the bartender, but 1 for my experience. I don't like to be harsh or unnecessarily cruel, but this is what it is. I have visited in the past and enjoyed myself. Nonetheless, I certainly won't be coming back.

We even asked our waitress where we could buy it, but unfortunately she wasn't sure. The seafood pasta was also delicious and loaded with seafood. You probably can't tell from the picture but it also came with plenty of little clams. The beef agnolotti looked a bit rich at first but it wasn't overly heavy at all and we ended up finishing just about everything. I'd definitely recommend this place. Just be sure to make a reservation, especially during peak meal times, because it gets pretty busy.

I have been coming to This Wonderful place for 2 years and counting. I love the owners. Such beautiful representations of what inspiration is and should be. One word Entrepreneur. They offer absolutetly great hospitality. Customer Service is efficient and the cuisine is simply delightful. Theres so many different things I love about Eve's lounge. Eves has become my second home, my safe haven. Proud to see black owned businesses. Eve's is a quality place I pray it never goes away. My favorite dish is the BAB burger. It's simply delightful on soft buttered bread w garlic accented taste. Amazing. My favorite drink is The Strawberry Smash. I have come into this place and they know me by name, a friendly atmosphere just a truthfully great environment. My favorite part about this establishment is that they have Karaoke Wednesday's where it is setup by the DJ. Thats fun because different age groups perform it's a good time.As well as Freedom Fridays where you kick back and enjoy the music and conversation by the elected DJ. Brunch Saturday's from 12-4. Chicken & Waffles with a mimosa can't be wrong. When the summer comes then the live band on Sundays will play Jazz,R&B and Soul music which is wonderful. This place is utterly phenomenal. They treat you like family. The Hookah is great food is greater but the drinks will always be the cherry on top. The best part about Eve's is that they have a very diverse crowd. Not a lot of places have that, all people of all ages and races. It's a beautiful experience to be apart of. I visited this lounge with a friend late at night, expecting a good time, but unfortunately, our experience was ruined due to the establishment's failure to address harassment properly. Since it was late, we were one of the only customers there, which makes it even worse that nothing was done. A random man continuously bothered us, to the point where our server acknowledged the situation and told us to let them know if we felt uncomfortable, which we expressed that we did. The fact that they noticed the issue on their own should have been enough to step in and handle it, but when I expressed that we were uncomfortable, nothing was actually done. One of the owners did tell the man to leave us alone, but after that, he continued walking past our table, loudly calling us inappropriate names and making it clear that he had connections with the owners, so he wasn't worried about consequences. Feeling unsafe, we decided to ask for the check. When I asked to speak to a manager, the second owner (who had been sitting at the bar within earshot the entire time) claimed she hadn't heard anything, despite the fact that we had already been approached about the situation earlier. She dismissed our concerns, saying they had known the man for years and that "he doesn't mean bad." But harassment isn't about intent, it's about impact. And as paying customers, we should never have been put in a position where we had to endure constant harassment without any real intervention. It's unacceptable that they enforce strict policies on restroom use for non-patrons but fail to protect actual customers from being harassed. Given how empty the lounge was, there was no excuse for ignoring the situation. This was a major disappointment, and I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe and respectful environment. read more

Ivisited Eve's on a Wednesday night recently with a couple of college friends from London and it turned out to be a really funkaraoke evening. There is a wide and updated selection of songs, the staff are absolutely amazing, the drinks are really well made and the service was perfect. The bartender also happened to be very good looking. Drinks are very reasonably priced and we were definitely getting our buck's worth. They have loads of different activities on throughout the week so it's worth checking out which days are what, cocktail making lessons etc... The crowd were very cool and put up with our kooky English ways. Even though a lot of them could sing, everyone was very encouraging of us and we didn't feel out of place at all. I think the best part of a night out is when the crowd are a friendly bunch and Eve's is void of pretentious people. They just wanna have good, simple and no-drama fun. The ambience at Eve's Lounge is exquisite. I can appreciate the versatility being that I live in the area, I've been privy to experiencing karoake on a Wednesday night; a very "social" Saturday night and tonight, a very mellow Sunday evening. The rum punch is to die for! It's my go-to and I've recommended them to everyone that I've invited here. The mango jerk crispy fried chicken wings with loaded fries (bacon and cheese) on top is my EVERYTHING. The staff are super attentive and I respect the presence of the owners. They are on hand. They pick up, clean up and work very well alongside the staff. Location wise, it's perfect! Right out the Brooklyn Museum and a stone's throw from world famous prospect Park, the Grand Army Plaza and even the Barclays Center. If you're ever visiting Brooklyn or New York, Eve's Lounge in Prospect Heights is definitely worth checking out! read more

Great spot in Prospect Heights and only urban bar on Washington Avenue. So glad that they are close to Brooklyn Museum because on First Saturdays they offer cool martini flavors like pina and mango! We spent the morning handling passport appointments, so we were excited to enjoy a relaxing evening in the city. Unfortunately, Aliya was one of the most mediocre dining experiences I've had in Brooklyn, which is disappointing because Brooklyn used to consistently outshine Manhattan when it came to food. The experience started off a little awkward. We had a reservation but weren't sure who we were supposed to check in with because no one greeted us when we stepped off the elevator. Once we approached someone, we had to repeat our reservation name and time several times before getting seated. Since we planned to have dinner downstairs afterward, we decided to order lightly. I had the Peach & Heirloom Tomato Salad, and my husband ordered the Oxtail Birria Tacos. I'm glad we didn't commit to a full meal. The salad arrived without the candied pistachios listed on the menu, which was disappointing considering how simple the dish already was. When I mentioned it, I was told they would have to go downstairs to retrieve them. That turned into a whole conversation, and by that point I was already hungry and halfway through my salad. It simply wasn't worth waiting any longer. My husband's tacos were very small, and while he said they were "just okay," neither the flavor nor the portion justified the price. We also discovered there is an automatic 20% service charge, which made the lackluster experience even harder to overlook. For me, value is about the complete experience. If the flavors don't impress, the portions are underwhelming, and the kitchen can't consistently deliver what's listed on the menu, it's hard to understand why those dishes are being served at all. The menu is genuinely creative, and I wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, the execution just isn't there. This one was a miss for us, and sadly, we won't be returning.
