This place is kind of small but it's a nice place to have a drink and food with friends. We came here to celebrate my cousins birthday yesterday & I must admit at first I didn't really want to stay but I'm glad I did. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. I LOVE EVE'S LOUNGE! My good friend and I always do happy hour on Friday nights and she suggested Eve's. She discovered it a few weeks ago with co-workers and said that she really enjoyed herself. We arrived around 6:15pm so we were able to take advantage of their happy hour, (most drink items were under $6.00 during happy hour.) My friend got a glass of Moscato and I had Merlot. Ordering wine at bars can be hit or miss, sometimes the wine has been open for a while and has turned or has a bitter taste but both our wines were fresh and flavorful. We also ordered the crispy fried wings and side of regular fries with chipotle mayo. Everything was so tasty and cooked perfectly. The service was perfect and attentive. I know it seems small but refilling out water glasses and clearing our dirty plates is something that just speaks to the quality of attention devoted to their patrons. The music and whole ambiance was on point. The overall vibe is so chill and relaxing. Hearing Jill Scott, The Foregin Exchange, Sampha, Erykah Badu and so much more makes you never want to leave. They also had a DJ setting up for the later crowd and I look forward to coming back for that. As we were getting up to leave, one of the managers Kim took the time to spark up a conversation with us. Although they were getting busier, she was genuinely interested in getting to know us better. We must have talked for 15 minutes about random things and she made us feel like we had known each other for years. Came here one evening back in February on a hot date. We were so excited to try out this restaurant- however we left there disappointed. The hookah was sooo expensive and had the nerve to be TRASH ( Brooklyn accent) plus it was leaking;although the waitress did give us a new one it was still no bueno. Worst experience everrrrr! Aside from a nice ambiance, there is nothing nice to say. I came here for a friend's birthday get together,which we were seated in a room off to the side from the front door, the smell of garbage on the curb was pungent and filled the space where we occupied. There was a party of 16 of us.... Different waiters kept coming in taking orders, bringing back the wrong orders, when corrected by the party, They would take the food back & return with nothing. When asked where is the correct food, they said they brought it out & we ate it.....this happened 3 times. I then placed and order, in which I paid ahead of time & never received my food. After asking the waiter about 10 times where my food was, he informed me that the owner would be out to speak to me regarding my order. I sat & I waited.... Nobody came to speak to me..I then go to the bar where both owners were sitting & they accused somebody in the party of taking my order.... That brings the tally up to 4 times we were accused of "stealing" food that was never brought out to us. I requested my money back and was shorted $7... I was happy about supporting a black woman owned business, but this was by far THEE WORST experience I have ever encountered at a restaurant. I will never spend another dime in this place! read more

I think this place should be reported....because it has been hiding from me all of my life!!! Last night my sister and I set out to find the perfect place to have drinks, eat great good, and try out some hookah. The limited options in Brooklyn were quite disappointing and bleak- that is, until I stumbled upon this hidden gem. It is definitely a cozy spot, as in you have to grab a spot as soon as it becomes available; however, after I sipped my sister's Pineapple Margarita and changed my own drink order, it was LIT! The bartender had short, blonde hair and was very attentive to our needs. With so many patrons packing the establishment, what I truly love about Eve's Lounge is the collaborative effort each employee made to ensure the "Great food, Great Vibes" atmosphere for everyone. Now for the food, I could've skipped the chicken strips personally, but the strawberry/mint hookah was EVERYTHING (it was also my first time but my avid hookah smoker sister said it was very good) as well as my sweet potato fries- talk about a party in your mouth! I would just have the fries and maybe a burger next time. The hookah definitely topped off a relaxing and fun night with reasonable prices. Tried this spot on a whim after work Saturday night. I love the low lights and candles, very cozy and intimate feeling. They were playing 90s throwbacks so I was nostalgic. Found this place on Yelp and I loved it. A friend was in town and we went here to get something to eat and pre-game prior to going out on the town for heavy drinking. The food was delicious and the drinks were affordable. The DJ was spinning decent music that kept the vibe going and like any great night out, the set got better the more we drank. The menu pricing was very affordable and cheaper than I thought it would be since we both got drinks, appetizers and full meals each. The bartender/wait staff was very attentive to our needs and ensured we were ok even though there was a good sized crowd there on a Friday night. Food was good! I had the spicy chicken sandwich. My only problem is I wish it came with fries. You have to order the fries separate. We also had the salmon and mac and cheese. The salmon was amazing! First time here last night. I must say my review is mixed (some good, some bad). The good: we were seated right away (Wednesday night). If you are smoking Hookah you must sit outside which was fine due to the nice weather. The wait for drinks was only about 10 minutes. We ordered a Henny Colada and a Henny Punch. Both needed a bit more liquor for it to be halfway strong. We ordered 2 shots of hennessy to mix in (even with the extra shot it didn't do much justice). The Hookah is a bit pricey, around $40 and you have to pay for the disposable tips. The hookah is also not on the menu so you really cannot see the pricing, the waiter tells you everything which things can get lost in translation. I would suggest they get a hookah menu to avoid any confusion. Waited about 15/20 mins for the hookah to come which isn't terrible. The food: Thai shrimp was delicious, Salmon Sandwich was pretty good, sweet potato fries were not very tasty, regular fries were good. Also, this is a black owned establishment which I always try to support. The bad part is the bill, for Brooklyn (Prospect Heights) the prices are high especially when you are sitting in a street or a narrow inside space. They also charge a 20% automatic gratuity which is a bit much, which we did not realize and tipped waiter. A lot of businesses are trying to recoup funds lost during Pandemic times which is understandable but I would expect to see this in Midtown or Upper East/West Side where rent is extremely high. Maybe they will eliminate this eventually. So all in all, I suggest going if you do not mind paying a pretty high bill for decent food/drinks. So after writing my review last week I receive a phone call today from one of the owners. She called because she was not happy with my first review. Kim felt that I was being dishonest in my review but I don't think so. She doesn't believe that the drinks are watered down, but I am not a big drinker and even I complained about the lack of liquor in the drinks. EVERYONE complained about it. Then she goes on to say that my friends didn't want to pay for their drinks. How that is, I do not know because everyone paid for their drinks as they ordered them. She also had a problem with me not putting my credit card on file. I wanted to pay cash for what I ordered and I did just that when I ordered anything. I was also told that I lied about my arrangement. The arrangement as I said before was to have a group of friends (10) and a cake. I called to find out their policy and I asked for a table but was offered the VIP area just as long as my group would purchase a minimum of 2 drinks each, which they ordered more than. Now, I'm being told that they didn't have to give me that area for free. Find, that is understandable! However, I did not ask for it for free so to act as though I asked for a favor isn't necessary. I didn't know about the price of it until now. In the end, my group paid for everything and the only thing I walked out of there with was a reduction in the 18% gratuity because it wasn't mentioned to me prior to the event date and guess what I did not ask for that either. I was willing to pay for my service. I am appalled that I have to receive a call about my review. I am entitled to my opinion and clearly others feel the same way. Take a look at the other reviews, they too feel that the drinks are over priced, watered down, and horrible service!!! read more

Not sure when this place opened, but I'm mad it wasn't sooner (since I used to live literally 1 block away!). Cute and quaint, Eves is a lounge tucked into a small space on Washington and St. John's. The $6 Martini's and $3 shots for happy hour were a hit! The guava martini tasted like juice but that's the kind of liquor that sneaks up on you. I also got the pineapple 40oz bowl. I'm still trying to figure out how I got home. The wings were decent. Needed a little more sauce. The bartender, Johnathan was attentive and did a great job at telling us which appetizers and drinks to get. (& he was nice eye candy. Yums. Lol). I came at about 5 when they first opened. The 2 of us double the patronage in the place but when my companion(she us actual a regular) asked to lower the TVs the bartender said " That it was mgmt's decision & she didn't know how to lower the volume. " But she did know how to change the channel. I think the volume nay be used to discouraged talk &, increase drinking. Either way very uncomfortable volume possibly even damaging. For a very long time, I was intimidated by this bar. The stools are constantly occupied by the same Eve's regulars, and honestly, it just looked a bit too posh for me. But one Monday after Hurricane Sandy, when Half Court was closed due to flooding or something, we scoped out Eve's because they have this monster screen where they show sports and occasionally karaoke (Wednesdays). Well, big surprise! Eve's is actually really amazing! They have a happy hour that goes until 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm on some nights. Drink specials include a huge selection of really girly and delicious martinis for $5 (my favorite being the guava one...or maybe the chocolate one -- Sophie's choice here). They also have a food menu with all your favorite bar foods like wings, burgers, and all kinds of fried goodies. If you feel like being healthy, they also have salads and such. The staff is super friendly as are the regulars who are REALLY regular. We've been back many times since that fateful Monday and have always had a good time. Even on Karaoke Night! But bring your A-game for karaoke -- these guys are GOOD. Oh! They also have the option for Hookah. Haven't had the chance to try it yet but soon...! read more

If I could give this place a zero (0) I would. The service was horrible. My friend decided to use this location as a going away party venue. The requirement was a drink and an appetizer. I walked in with some friends and the manager female with short hair didn't greet us or welcomed us. She just asked what we were getting to drink. I asked if I can get a drink and food menu to see my options and there was attitude. Adrian our server was amazing, sweet and friendly. His service was great. Unfortunately this place isn't great for him. The lounge automatically charges 20% per bill. If you pay credit or debit you are required to give ID and your card to get charged for your food upfront. If you are paying by cash you pay before you get your food. I ordered the chicken and waffles. They lacked flavor and quality. My friends ordered wings. One friend waited 30mins to get her order. The second order of wings we partially cooked. I definitely don't recommend Eves Lounge, but if you decide to go ask for Adrian. The one star goes to Adrian. read more

This is a very small space and it has a very small kitchen. It took a long time for our food to come and it came one by one. I don't recommend this place for a first date, or meet up with new people. The drinks tasted like virgin drinks, which is a negative for me but some people like that. They were tasty. The mojitos were $10, they were made with house rum. Someone next to me was drinking Hennessy and Makers Mark-- top shelf liquor, and their drinks were the same cost. That doesn't seem to make sense to me, but it is what it is, I don't run the business, I'm just a patron. The food was excellent, and the service was good. They staff was struggling, but they were trying hard. We had the jerk burger, salmon sandwich, and sweet potato fries. All of it tasted great. This is a small community business and this establishment has a lot of potential. What they are trying to do, and the space they are in is counterproductive. I would say they either need a larger space or they need to revamp their business, and create more of a tapas bar. The place was full but not packed, and the timeline to serve patrons was not appropriate. I would come back, but I would be more intentional. If I saw lots of people in there, I would skip. Many people around us had the same concerns about their food taking long. On their menu it specifically says orders are made individually, which is what the staff tells you when you express concern about your food. That's not ideal for any restaurant. So when a friend recommended that we stop here for a cocktail after a nice Sunday lunch, I was open to it. Since it was a Sunday afternoon, I'll give this place a pass for being semi-empty. I'd imagine this would be different on other nights. The music was cool (it was nice to hear Jill Scott playing as we walked in) and the staff was friendly and attentive. They offer a pretty standard beer menu for a Brooklyn bar, i.e. Stella Artois, Heineken and a few others plus lots of liquor options and a few limited wine options. I didn't order food, but was happy to see that there are food options available here just in case. Sure they are typical bar food items, and I'm always looking for the secret angle of a menu, but sometimes you just want some standard bar fare. While there, the bartender even mentioned an upcoming promotion by 1800 Tequila for free drinks and the future inclusion of live band performances on Sunday. A cute spot too but had an experience with a rude and unprofessional waitress, which seems to be a trend when 20% gratuity is automatically included to your bill. So beware. Came here as a group of five last night. The first mishap we ordered 3 appetizers and received no plates. Our waitress never came over so we ended up using our napkins. Second mishap, I ordered shrimp tacos and all my friends received there meals 20 min. before me. We were so engrossed in our conversation that I didn't realize I didn't get my food and to notify the waitress (who never came to our table). She was near the bar and when I motioned for to come over. She mouthed to me "the food is coming." Is that how you notify someone about their food? I mentioned that she should've mentioned something when everyone received their meals. Cleary they forgot to make my order (out of all our orders 2 blackened salmon and 2 jerk burgers mine should've been the quickest to make) I finally received my food and after an additional 10 min. I received no apology so I told her she can take back the plate as my whole party was now done eating. Again she said nothing. Lastly, we had to wait an additional 10-15min to flag our waitress down for the check. She never checked in on us for the standard, is everything okay/do you need anything?
