We have had two purchase experiences with this store. The staff is not properly trained, they do not know their merchandise. It seems that management is pushing for sales for items on the floor, rather than working with the customer to find the right product for the individual. Also, deceptive business practices. We purchased a lift chair for a 100 year-old with a tiny frame 4' 11", 106 lbs. We were concerned the chair might be too big for her. The sales person assured us, if the chair did not suit her needs, that the items were fully refundable within 7 days of purchase. This is also stated on the bill of sale. The chair was delivered with a swivel tray two days later, it was far to big and also had some minor damage on the leatherlike fabric and the tray was inappropriate for a chair, it was made for a bed. The delivery people took both items back and said we would be refunded minus a 20% restocking fee. We were never told of this fee, there is no signage in the store re this, and the bill of sale makes no mention of a restocking fee, it only mentions the 7 day return policy. I called American Express to see if the credit had come through - it had not. I went to the store 7 days after the items were returned and discovered no effort had been made to refund us. I was able to get a refund less 10% restocking. The sales person did not know how to do the refund and made numerous mistakes which were in favor to the store in the amount of $600.00. I had to use a calculator and check everything she was doing to make sure the amount was correct. We have reported the store to California Department of Consumer Affiars, the California Attorney General's Office, and will contest the restocking charge with American Express. We have asked the CA Dept of Consumer Affairs and the CA Attorney General's Office to require the store to disclose, in writing, and with signage, of the 20% restocking fee. read more

I never leave a negative review, but this is worthy of one. My husband went to buy a blood pressure cuff and accidentally bought one exactly like the one we have. One hour and 40 minutes later I went to return it and get a credit back on our credit card, the box was unopened and exactly the same condition as when he bought it. They would not return the purchase on my credit card. They would not give me a credit. So beware when buying anything from them because most things that they sell even if you walk out to your car and bring it right back, they will not refund your money, just the worst service ever I will never go in there again. Very high prices for our local area. I recently purchased a foot rest riser extension. For my neighbors La-Z-Boy recliner.. she had had back surgery and had two rods installed from her lumbar to her neck. She was unable to raise the foot rest as she was unable to bend to the side. My neighbors are elderly and on very fixed income. I purchased the extender from everything medical to help my neighbor out. She then returned to the hospital with cardiac issues. When she returned and I was able to get back to her home, I found out the piece I bought was not long enough and she could not reach the lever. I tried to return the overpriced item and was told it was past the time and all I could have was a store credit. No one wants to hear that that extenuating circumstances do occur. I now have a useless store credit that will maybe come in handy when I'm older. I am certain if I'm in need of anything from this store, they will tell me my credit is expired. This is a sham. I am sorry. I did business with this company. Next time I will go to the competitor or simply order online like everyone else does. Don't shop here if you can't help it. read more

After three months of waiting, and $1000 worth of rentals, we finally got a power chair. Unfortunately it moves so quickly at the slightest touch leading to physical injuries. First off I would like to say that I am a friend of the person who wanted to leave a review...my 81 year old friend has been having trouble with her sciatica and she dropped into this store Everything Medical to purchase a coccyx pillow to sit on. The sales clerk was friendly and showed her some cushions..she had her sit on a few and the clerk took the bag off the one she ended up buying... She was excited to get it home and put it on her chair, it was too long for the hard chair and too wide for the recliner. It was put back in the bag and she tried to return it on the third day. She was told that there was a no return policy on items taken out of a bag..she was told there was a no return policy on used items..first of all the clerk took it out of the bag to have her sit on it to try it out..is this then considered used? It was put on a hard chair where she tried to sit on it ... but it was so big she darn near fell off! She couldn't even get it to fit in the recliner seat..tried but got up and put it back in the bag...and this is considered used?? My friend went back the next day and asked to talk to a manager and she got the same story...my friend said look I don't want my money back I just want a smaller seat..the manger just kept saying sorry no returns on used or taken out of the bag merchandise .. What is bothering me is that she purposely went in asking for a coccyx cushion....and actually walked out with a wheelchair cushion ( totally different in size) not the same thing!! The manager then said there is a sign over there that says "no returns" which my friend said back ...I was never over there to read it....moral of the story...DON'T buy from EVERYTHING MEDICAL UNLESS YOU ARE POSITIVE THAT ITS WHAT YOU NEED....because there is NO RETURNS!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife had broken her foot, rather than waiting for our insurance company to tell us where to go for a boot, we came here. Upon entering the store, a young lady named Stevie(sp?) Greeted us and began answering our questions. She got 2 boots and put them on my wife's foot, once fitted, she showed us a scooter to make life a little easier and much easier than crutches. It was very affordable. Stevie, watched as we went out of the store to see how I'd do in breaking the scooter down, I had no idea she was watching. She saw I was struggling and came out to assist me. When one of them needed a little adjustment, they were so helpful. I will continue to bring them my business as my son's physical needs change. Good customer service when they want you to buy something! Not when you have something to work on, or have a complaint, or call to ask a question, It seams no one is on the same page.We have bought 4 or 5 carts over the years there, the last one (and i mean the last one ) was a I-ride a small fold-down scooter. We took it in to get a short in the electrical system fixed. Rude Rude woman sales woman said no was there to work on them on sat. Could we leave it here for Monday so the tech. can look at it ? BEWARE. Bought a stand-up walker for my dad, he was unable to use it at all. We returned it within a few weeks, they said they would refund us and just charge us for a month's rental, which seemed fair. HOWEVER, they pocketed the portion that MediCare covered. Medicare only covers an equipment purchase every 5 years, so now that he needs something different, there won't be any coverage for it, as it was already used. We agree to pay them $350 + up front to fix it and they screw up and order the wrong part and now they blame us for their mistake. If I could give them 0 stars I would. This was a monster communication error on everyone's part, but it seems the transportation company and these guys forgot they were dealing with a man's, my father's, final days on this Earth. We were supposed to get a bed and other equipment to care for my Dad on hospice in our home by noon, my Dad would arrive at 12:30. I called at noon to say nothing had arrived, was told they were 20 minutes out. At 12:15 my father arrived with Precious Cargo, at 12:30 still no bed. At 12:40 the driver for Everyday called saying he had just returned from another delivery and was loading our equipment on his truck, 20 more minutes. At 1:10 they finally arrived. Another 10-20 minutes for set up before we could bring my Dad in. My DYING father spent an just over an hour in a transport van with AC parked in my driveway on a day when it was over 100 degrees. Dad died on Thursday, Everday should have picked up their equipment on Friday. I'm sure it's a billing scam. I'll be calling medicare and checking all the bills to make sure they don't bill for an extra day. I had to call on Saturday and demand pick up. Please note, the hospital and hospice provider called and apologized the same day, but not Everyday or Precious Cargo. Apologies go a long way. Choose another company. read more

We had the pleasure of meeting a young man named Joe that had a great ambition to start a medical supply business, and we found him to be a very conscientious, thoughtful and knowledgeable business owner. Over the years we have done a good deal of business with his company, and we are filled with joy for the success he has demonstrated. He now owns the largest medical supply store in the North State, and in that process he has assembled and trained a very knowledgeable supportive staff to assist folks with their medical requirements And now Joe is in a 10,000 square foot complex and has all of the supplies and equipment on hand for his customers. That required an administrative assistant be brought on board by the name of "Danni" She runs the day to day operations that keeps everything flowing very smoothly. So you always feel like the most important person by the support staff and the office staff when you come in with questions and needs for your well-being. It is an honor to be able to share this evaluation for a man that has grown into a very confident and trustworthy businessman. With that success, he has also been a great example to his business peers through generous giving to many causes in the North State. So my wife and I have come back in today to purchase a second scooter after13 years, from a man that told us when we bought it, that it was a quality product. After 13 years of hard use. My daughter at 18 enlisted into the Coast Guard and she fractured her hip. We were devastated! She was in Cape May which is across the United States during the Christmas holiday. She was able to get a medical leave approved to come home for the holidays based on having proper medical equipment to get her around. This company did more than we could of asked for. Due to her situation with her commitment to the military, they gave us a wheel chair for free for two week!!! I can't thank them enough!!! Thank you soooooo much! read more

It took them at least 3 months to get her the chair and it still isn't right for her as far as comfort goes. Also is now having surging problems and they will not come out to look at it. Went in the other day to get a chair for my mother. I felt very pressured to buy almost from the second I walked into the new store on athens. I told them exactly what I wanted but instead they kept showing me the 'upgraded models' and pushing warranties that I didn't want or need. The person helping me kept bragging about how good the new store looked and how professional it made them look. I just looked around and laughed - it looks like someone threw up colors all over the walls and windows. One side of the store looks like it was made by one person and the other half looks like someone else did it. I really don't get all the words on the windows either, looks cheesy - almost as bad as their cars out front. I received a walker thru medicare 3 months ago. My right brake does not work., the cable came out. I called 3 weeks ago and I was told the service guy would call me when he was in the area this week. No one called. I spoke to someone in the store and now I am being told that I have to go to my Dr to get a prescription from him to have it fixed if I want medicare to be billed. ????? So I have to waist his time and mine and medicares money for a office visit to something that is under warranty???? I waited 3 weeks and now what do I do???? Just like everyone else says on here...THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!! Took weeks to get medical supplies delivered and then told that I have to call again to schedule the installation! Seriously?! Needless to say we didn't have weeks to wait for someone to finally decide they would finally come by and do the installation so we did it ourselves...which didn't take too long to do, so not sure why someone had to come BACK out to do installation...Cable and internet services do installations on first visit...they don't drop off cable boxes and modems and tell you call and schedule installation another time! What gives everything medical? Our referral came from the county and even the lady from the county that we are working with is appalled at the lack of service provided since she also called about the deliveries not being made yet and has had repeated problems and said she was at her wits end with this company. Sounds to me Everything Medical is about to loose all business they had from the county. Rightfully so. Lastly, a personal note to E.M....we are not elderly, but reading these posts and how you guys have left some of these older folks without working wheel chairs and lift chairs...SHAME ON YOU!!! read more

horrible, unprofessional and lack of management. ridiculous! They dont care if you dont get medical equipment that Stanford doctors request you to have after surgery. The fact we been on their schedule for more than 2 weeks! go to another medical supply place if u havent yet!!!!! this place is run by people and management that have an IQ of a monkey, to say it nicely, and that is making the monkey sound intelligent. i am emailing to receive answers as to why the hospital bed is not already delivered, or why it has not yet even been scheduled. my husband is getting discharged from Stanford hospital tomorrow and this staff has no answers. completely unprofessional in this case!!!! we are stressed with a family memeber getting out of the hospital and these employee's and manager have no concern!!! I will never go through this place. I've worked several years with Everything Medical and watched them and the agonizing healthcare system process while in a rehab hospital for about six months. My own case pushed all the limits because I am huge but still must get through doors and other troubles. My bed is very unusual and all my needs are expensive. It takes weeks and even months to get through the evaluation and red tape. On and on the process goes, but no pre-ordering can be done until the company gets insurance approval, because no one can predict the outcome in unique situations. Once approvals are completed, the order can be placed, and the slow process of filling the order at the factory takes place, and finally, the slow freight shipping begins. The whole crew at Everything Medical deserve huge accolades for their ongoing work in a field that is tough to make enough to cover expenses and one bound by countless rules and regulations. The employees know their job and are willing to invest the time and energy for their customers. Be patient with the process and watch this company deliver remarkable results. WHO IS FIRST TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SENIORS AND OTHER DISABLED PERSONS IN OUR COMMUNITY??? YUP, EVERYTHING MEDICAL. My wife recently had a stroke. She did her rehab at Copper Ridge Care Center here in Redding. They recommended Everything Medical for rental equipment and other supplies. I purchased a Transfer Pole and a couple other items, and rented another piece of equipment. They were the highest price on the rental item, but no one else had it immediately available. I paid $259 for their Transfer Pole not knowing the "fair price" of the item. A couple of days later I realized the need for a second Transfer Pole, so I checked Amazon (should have done it first), I purchased the exact same item for $142. A short time later I received a notice that my Medicare had paid for a very basic Walker, brand name Drive. The walker has two wheels in front, no seating, no brakes, just the basic walker, available on Amazon for $31. My Medicare was billed for this item and paid $130 and change. Additionally Everything Medical wants a co-pay from me for about $10. LOL, guess what!! I would beg you, PLEASE DON'T SUPPORT THIS UNSCRUPULOUS RETAILER. read more

i am a caregiver for an elderly gentleman who is 81. he uses he electric scooter to get around. on friday april 26, 2013 a technician from everything medical came out to see what was causing my client's scooter to stop running and then start up again. the technician was trying everything to see what was wrong - until 45 minutes later he finally took a drive with it and the scooter malfunctioned like my client had stated. the scooter was taken to the shop on hilltop. there is sat until i called about it on thursday may 2, 2013. not a call from them at all. at that time they said that there might be a part in one of their employees garages and they would try and that and let us know. on may 6, 2013 i went to their shop - since we did not hear anything yet again. i was met by a young man that was clueless about what i was asking about and could not even explain what was going on even after several trips to the back where there were many people just chatting with one another. after i said loudly that this kind of customer service was bad business practice - finally a manager type person came from the back - did not introduce himself or state his position with the company. but he let me know that the only thing they could do for my client was to order a part that might remedy the situation or not - but they would have to order it from Pennsylvania and it would take another two weeks. i called my client and he said no and he wanted to deliver back to him. it was finally delivered tuesday may 6, 2013 - after getting a call from the clueless technician from before that he would be delivering it between 10 and 12 and then said well sometime that day he just wasnt sure. this type of lack of consideration for the elderly and disabled that are relying on their scooters to get around is horrible. i would never and will never recommend this company to anyone. read more
