Days and days I spent to fill out her complicated technical forms to get in for an appointment just to be told after days of hassle trying to understand and fill out their forms that Julie Gussenhoven will not conduct an exam because of the true and honest experience I have shared. so If you have an experience with this doctor and share in all honesty with anyone, she will penalize and punish you and not give you service. This seems just so wrong to do this to people. I was told I would get an appointment and now Julie Gussenhoven says no just because I shared my honest and true experience.. where's the right to free speech when you get punished and penalized just for sharing your experience.. this is just wrong. read more

Zero points for customer service. We said we were coming in to look at frames and already had a prescription. Went over our insurance, worked up the price. Came back the next day and were then told that they don't take prescriptions from other drs. Total waste of our time. You should have been honest. Incompetent service. Done. Dr Gussenhoven is Great. She is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to your needs and explained everything thoroughly. Shes fun and easy to get along with. As someone who has been a patient of yours for 5 years and has not missed a single appointment; I would imagine you would value my business more than what was shown this morning. After Halloween weekend (I have two small children by the way) I had an appointment scheduled for 8:15 am. I made a mistake, which I would say one mistake should be allowed without punishment, I completely spaced the appointment until I got to work and looked at my planner. I initiated a call to you to resolve and get an appointment rescheduled. I was told that due to Covid you would have to charge me $50 for a missed appointment fee. I do understand that there are people who abuse situations such as these however I was never that person. It also was never disclosed to me that there would be a fee if I missed the appointment. I feel very undervalued as a patient there, I will not be returning at this point as I don't feel I was treated with the same respect I have given out to you. Most establishments will do a three strike thing or even just allow one mistake, but apparently not here. IF YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A SINGLE MISTAKE WITHOUT PUNISHMENT DO NOT COME HERE. read more

Dr. Gussenhoven and her staff are great! I recently went there to get an eye exam and new glasses, her and hear staff are very friendly and courteous. I was unsure of the type of frames I wanted and they worked with me to get a couple of frame styles that they didn't have on display for me to try on free of charge. I definately will be coming back the next time I need and exam or glasses. read more

My family has gone to Dr. Gussenhoven for ten years. Both of my children are now adults and have not found anyone as good. My daughter still tries to schedule with her when she's here on vacation. As for myself, I have found Dr. Gussenhoven to be caring, interested, and giving of her time; I have never felt rushed. I really feel as if I am her only concern when I am in the chair. My daughter is 5 years old and needs glasses. I could swear that Dr. Gussenhoven is a walking angel on earth. She is so nice. SHe is so good with my daughter, very patient and in good spirits. Every time I leave her office, we leave happier than when we walked in. She doesn't only do her job very well, but she has a way of making people feel like you're an old friend of hers. Wonderful experience. Professional caring. I have not been to see her in a few years, because I moved out of the area. Sadly my last eye exam by my local optometrist was one mistake after another. I made the trip back to this practice and the thoroughness of the exam, and explanations of what was probably causing my issues were concise and clear. After 10 years as Dr. Julie's patient my elderly mother was asked to get another doctor. Apparently the staff doesn't know how to leave messages on a land line answering machine and then argued with the patient regarding this. This IS NOT professional or caring. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Went in for a contacts script. She confirmed all of my previously-diagnosed ancillary issues (in addition to astigmatism) gave me status on all, advised of what to be concerned about in immediate future and recommended blue blocker glasses to ward off damage I didn't know I was getting from UV-emitting devices - without pressure to buy anything. She has a bedside manner surgeons should envy and is able to communicate at an appropriate level w/out glossing over technical information the patient is capable of digesting. She spends an appropriate amount of time with the patient and leaves you feeling good about the knowledge you've gained. She also worked me in for a new patient appointment within the week and gave me a time conducive to my work schedule. Office assistants are pleasant as well. read more

I've never had to wait more than a few minutes and she and her staff are friendly and efficient.
