I have been tanning on and off since 2006. This is hands down the best salon I have ever had the pleasure of taking my business to. The range of services they offer is wider than any salon that I have been to yet including a Versa Spa Spray Tan, a Mystic booth, a Beauty Angel rejuvinating bed, top of the line lay down and standing beds including my personal favorite, the Sun Angel. It has an iPod hookup with an awesome speaker system, aroma therapy and a mysting system, a sensor that collects the pigment of your skin so that it can personalize the tanning session based on your needs, and it is almost big enough for two. The staff really surprised me with the level of customer service they provide. I din't expect much because they all seem fairly young, and typically girls at a tanning salon fresh out of high school are snobs in my experience. It is aparent that the management/ownership has appropriate expectations for the employees as far as professionalism and conduct. I never have a concern when it comes to anything I may have had qustions about. I always feel welcomed and most importantly, appreciated. Don't expect dirt cheap but I promise you it is worth EVERY penny. The only bad thing I have to say is that they make the other locations look bad.....realy bad. Encinitas to be specific. When asking for prices she seemed annoyed at having to explain and at one point exclaimed that she had to clean a tanning bed and walked away. Since I only wanted to try the service before committing to a monthly package, she barked that I would not see any color with one session and that it wouldn't be beneficial. I love this place. I have been there a few times, and usually don't have to wait anymore than 10 minutes for anything. I go after work, so of course it's going to be a little busy. Keep in mind I am a long time client and I have NEVER been this upset with Itan, I have always loved the girls. It changed within the past few months. Beware for Maddy, Krista, & Kayla. On different occasions these ladies have made my experience less than enjoyable. Maddy has hands down the WORST attitude you can come by. No costumer service whatsoever. I feel uncomfortable anytime she is working and I try to be in and out while she is. Krista is the same way and talks with a very condescending tone. Kayla will talk about you, about the employees that work there, and other drama while on the job. If you ask me, that is not professional in anyway, shape or form. This has not been a one time thing either. I am here to warn you that anytime you go in expect these things from these girls. And for Itan- DO BETTER. Train your employees better. You should be embarrassed and ashamed to have employees that act this way. I will be canceling and going somewhere else. read more

Walked in to get one spray tan for an event, told the girl I wanted to get just one. Somehow she convinced and sold to me that it was a better deal to sign up for a membership since they had a special going go June. I asked some clarifying questions, trying to figure out how it was better for me to sign up for a $90 monthly membership than pay for a single spray tan, but she said that if I cancel by the 1st of July then I wouldn't get charged. Now that sounds too good to be true, so I asked if I will get charged the monthly amount again, she said no. It was very rushed and I felt pressured to just go with what she was saying, I felt like she was just trying to get a sale. Needless to say I'm fighting the charge and I will make a formal complaint about their sales practice and that that individual in particular was misleading and not straightforward in answering my questions. Should have gone with my gut and not do what she was pushing, but I didn't and now I feel like I've been tricked. Customer service was terrible, listen to what your customer is asking for, don't pressure them into buying stuff just so you can get the commission. I went back today, same girl that did this was there I spoke with her about my complaints and how to fix it and she was still rude to me. Don't go to this place it is beyond terrible. read more

Disappointed time and time again. Product integrity is an issue. I ask for dark bronze every time and it's rarely the same. I have walked in at 8:30pm several times and I am turned away if they can't get me in the booth by 8:50. They do not care about making the customer happy. If you are thinking about an Itan membership, DON'T do it!! Better to support a small boutique location that will cater to your needs and work at keeping you happy!! So disappointing! read more

This location is my favorite location. It always seems clean, the radio in the rooms always works and the level 3 beds are really comfy. Sometimes it can get a little busy, but for the most part if my level 3 bed isn't readilly available, the staff usually gives me a complimentary upgrade, which is good customer service rather than having me wait. read more

I like the location and spa services. I also like that the employees aren't rude and bitchy like most tanning places. I didn't like the fact that they basically forced products on me like I have my own tanning lotions and moisturizers that I want to use and not spend over $100 on a piece if shit product that will only last a few weeks. I also didn't like that they don't have a leg tanner. They're also extremely expensive but the spa services are nice, they just kind of overprice the items and services. The items don't have price tags on them and I feel like they take advantage of military, and make up their own prices to get a high commission. Sketchy. read more

I love, love this place. I've been going here for a couple months and I'm such a huge fan. The staff is knowledgeable and so friendly. The spa options are equally fantastic. Be sure to do the hydration station, your skin will be so super soft. And the jet therapy- perfect for sore muscles and back aches. I can't say enough good things about the Itan Smart tanning bed. I had no idea tanning beds could take personal skin measurements and tan according to skin color. It's a super cool bed! Bottom line- I recommend membership if you like feeling great and friendly service. read more

If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. The manager at the Oceanside location is horrible & the employees don't know anything!!!! They wrongfully charged me $87 dollars after I canceled my membership & the reason I was still charged was because their employees don't know how to work their computers apparently. It took me 3 days to get in touch with the manager Victoria. Never once did they call me I was the one doing all the calling. As a manger myself I'm so shook about that. After finally talking to Victoria, she told me that even though this was their fault there's nothing she can do. She told me I should call my bank. Like this is my banks fault??? Then after I told her no I need to speak with someone else, she told me she would call her boss and get back to me the same day. It's been 2 months still haven't heard back. This place is a joke & are only after your money. Also the beds have bees in them!! I was tanning one day and a fucking bee was on my arm. I got out quickly and when I told Victoria, again she's the Manager, her response was, "oh the bees are attracted to the lights" like what?? I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ever. I have never had a spray tan and was nervous to give it a shot. Had I not decided to give it a try I would have Yelped straight out the gate. I called I Tan and the nice young woman on the phone Amber was so helpful. She answered all my questions put me at ease about the process and was very helpful in how to prepare for the Tan, she genuinely took pride in her job and in her customer service skills and you could tell just by talking to her. She went above and beyond and after having spoken with her I wanted to go just to meet Amber. My friend and I walked in and it was clean and cute and bright and we were greeted with a Beautiful Smiling Face. I knew it was Amber! She made our first I tan experience the Best Ever!We both loved it and the spray tan booth is super cool! ! We both will be back and I cant wait to tell everyone where I got my new Tan! I love itan and I'm a loyal customer - I hop around from o side to san marcos to la Costa . I worked at iTAN for a year and have tanned here for 5 years. I love it & most of the time it's great experience but now after today 2 times in the past month something that upsets me and makes me question some things has happened . Unless procedure has changed since I was an employee if someone is double dipping (bed then spray) you're not supposed to put someone in the spray booth if the client that was in front of them is about to be out of their bed to spray . 2 times in the past month I've came out of my bed to find that someone was in the booth when I was in front of them ! The first time was absolutely unacceptable because I came out and the lady was standing outside the booth getting a run down of the mystic - she wasn't even in it !!! And I was in front of her . Sorry to me that's not cool , it's not like someone is coming out and all the have to do it wipe it down. I'm forced to have to sit and wait 10 min when I'm supposed to be able to hop in right after my bed. If procedure has changed then my bad - even then I think that's wacky - but if not they need to correct this. Unfortunately unless I'm doing spa services I don't really have time to wait that extra 10-15 Mins for someone to cut in line ! Not cool read more

I have been an itan member for a few months now and i normally stick to the same location but i was in the area and wanted to try out the oceanside one a few weeks ago. I tried their newest level 5 that the girl sold me one because it's not part of my package and when i got in the room the floors were filthy with hair and looked very unsanitary. I will say it's a very nice bed, but i was shocked to find close to 20 small nats/flys.....all along the side of the bed..got out before my time was up because i was so disgusted and ended up wasting 16$. read more

I chose to come to this place because its right by my house and come to find out they are also offer spa & spray services. The spa services they offer seemed awesome and the girl, Catlin(who is SUPER nice and helpful) sold me on the ispa unlimted package where i get access to everything and go to ANY itan location. I knew the Oside location only had the fit wrap BUT come to find out even all the North County locations combinded dont have ALL the spa services they offer, which is VERY disappointing. I tried getting into the fit-wrap but its too intense for me and i always felt like crap after doing it, even if I made sure i drank lots of water. Almost all the staff is friendly there but Catlin is THE BEST! Its kinda true what some others have said this place is a little on the dirty side mainly the floors around the edges and corners and could be cleaner, but Im a clean freak, but in general its clean enough for me to use. Their beds are awesome and it didnt take me long to develop a nice base & tan. Not sure how I feel about the prices yet. read more

I have been going to I tan off and on for a few years. I usually just go to tan in the regular tanning beds and that has been A okay. Recently my friend told me that they have Monday Mystic tan specials for 10 dollars. Ten dollars is a really good deal,so tonight has been my second time back. Even though I have had positive experiences, tonight I noticed something that bugged me a little bit. When I got there they asked me what level tanning solution I wanted, and I told her I wanted medium, but when I was finished I went to discard the solution only to find out she had given me light instead. Now I don't know if it was a mistake or not, or if they always give you light because it's a special so I still gave them 4 stars (and because I want to go back). I certainly hope it was just a mistake instead of the latter, because I feel if they want to give you the lighter product they should just disclose that in the special. I will still go back because a lighter tan in January sure beats being as white as a ghost. I will most def check that they are giving me medium next time ;) read more

I've been an infrequent customer to Oceanside iTan but regardless of when I go, I get THE best customer service. Everyone there is extremely polite, they always acknowledge you and let you know if they're helping someone else, and then give you their full attention, no matter how what's going on or how many people are waiting. The excellent service there is actually extremely rare today. The staff there is, to a person, is very knowledgeable and helpful, and always make it a great experience. Juliana helped me today and and she was so great at explaining a new machine, took the time twice to show me what to do and was so sweet on top of it. The staff isn't too friendly, they are just ok I guess, especially when compared to the service I received at the San Marcos Itan. I called to cancel my membership a few days ago and was told I had to come in to sign. Ok, well with a 1 year old, it's hard to just get up and go. So, I went in today and I was told that my membership fees were already deducted for August and so I couldn't cancel. I don't want to tan anymore. I can't get there enough with my baby to make it worthwhile plus summer, at least my summer, is ending. I asked for a refund and was told the manager would have to get back to me in a few days. Then I got a call from the same girl, not the manager, stating that I can't get a refund. Why the heck not? I'm super annoyed and will probably never go back to this location. read more

Not the best iTan experience I've ever had, for sure. I've been to a few of the iTan salons and unfortunately this one was the worst encounter. The staff wasn't very friendly, and didn't explain anything. I actually got burned the first time I went because the guy put me in there for 9 minutes even though I told him I was sensitive. I gave them a few more tries before switching to the one in Carlsbad. iTan is great but I just didn't really have a great experience in Oceanside. read more

I was looking around for some tanning salons and a friend recommended me to here. My friend was recommended by a friend and got $1/month (at the San Diego locatio which is an awesome deal considering the unlimited plan is $100/month. Either because I wasn't accompanied by my referral or I didn't have a referral card, I wasn't as fortunate. However, I signed up for the $7/7 days. Today I had some time so I did four treatments. I don't remember all the technical names but here's what I did and in order - body hydration (very refreshing, but left my skin a bit blotchy for some reason), squatting cellulite thing (difficult to stay in that position for 10 minutes, but not too bad), tanning bed (this was the level 7 since it was my first time), then the face rejuvenating thing after tans. The employees were awesome - super helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I mainly worked with skye. Everything was great and it was a great first time! I will be back tomorrow to get the most of my deal and hopefully get tanner within the next week!! read more
