This was a last min stop for me and a first at that. Luckily walked in at the right time for HH! I got the smashburger with fries and honestly it was one of the best smashburgers I had in a while! Service was quick and friendly, so I would definitely come back. Parking is pretty bad, you'll have to walk a couple blocks so good luck!

I've dined here several times and it's no surprise why I keep coming back. The service is exceptional, the ambiance is beautiful and it's always a vibe. I decided to bring my date here since he's from SF and hasn't explored dtla much. We ordered drinks and a few different menu items. To start, I ordered the burger and he ordered the patty melt. He was shocked at how simple but, delicious the melt was. We also ordered the biscuits and butter and the chicken tinga quesadilla. I personally loved the tinga! A must try. I'm sure I will be back soon and if you haven't tried this spot, you should asap!

I finally made it to ERB. I've only heard about it for forever and I've only worked close by for a few years now. I can finally check this place off my list. For starters, parking. Parking lot. It's metered, meaning paid but this eliminates you needing to drive around looking for street parking. Which, there was a bunch too. At least there was when I stopped by. I parked in the lot. I also made reservations. For the patio. But first you walk into the bar area. It's dark and intimate. Walk past the bar through the hall to the outdoor patio. It's open air and pretty big. Good for groups. Picnic table set ups. Pretty casual and laid back vibe. Service was great. There was a team of two who handled everything from start to finish. Seating to settling the bill. Plates and utensils cleared. Refills without asking. Regular check ins (I mention this because I chose to sit apart from where the crowd chose to sit). And both friendly and nice. Drinks were great. Don't go in expecting gourmet food and you'll be ok like I felt the food was. See pics. On a return visit, I'd have all the dishes again. These were off the HH menu. To sum it up, I liked this place. The drinks. The food. The service and the vibe. On my "definitely will return to" list.

Came here for a birthday party with the cutest patio vibes! This place is perfect if you wanted a place to host a birthday dinner, but also keep it chill. My side of the table shared a variety of dishes that kept us filled: Chicken Quesadilla, Kennebec French Fries, and Beef Nachos. All of these items were enough and delicious. My favorite of the night was probably the nachos from how much they LOADED on the items especially the guac. I used some of those to add onto my quesadilla as well. I got the Mateo St Margarita which was delicious and had the kick I needed for the night. Overall, food came out quick. Servers were attentive! Do a reservation ahead of time for the best outcome of your night!

During a company evening out, we went to the ERB, for some after hours bonding. The service was great there and the atmosphere was cozy in the back outdoor seating. Now I will say the whole point was to be with coworkers, and so I think the vibe was even more fun. The food was pretty good too. So I could see myself going again, even outside a work outing. So try it sometime and enjoy. Not that the parking is Valet, but convenient.

7/18 Day one the Blackie and smoky patato taquitos

Tucked away near the Arts District, Everson Royce Bar (E.R.B.) is that hidden gem everyone thinks they discovered first. Let's get this out of the way--if you know what a Blackie is, then you already know why this spot hits different. IYKYK. But beyond that, E.R.B. serves up some of the best bites and cocktails in LA, period. The smoky potato taquitos? Absolute flavor bombs. The Single Burger? Wildly simple, insanely good--easily one of the best burgers in the city, and yeah, it's coming out of a cocktail bar. They even got vegan options that don't feel like an afterthought. Respect. Drinks? Oh, they don't play around. Whether you're feeling the vibe of the curated cocktail menu or want to go off-script, the bartenders--Alfredo, Trafton, Cindy are pros. Ask, and they'll deliver something! Plus, shoutout to Cassidy, the GM, who keeps everything running cool, smooth, and welcoming. Still not sold? E.R.B. has been named one of LA's top 10 (and even top 20) bars, depending on who you ask but everyone agrees, it's up there. So if this review sends you their way, do me a favor...tell 'em I sent you. Cheers!

Consistently one of my favorite bars. I usually avoid anywhere near DTLA but I love this spot. Great vibes. Amazing drinks and insanely delicious burger.

I have heard so many wonderful things about Royce Bar, including that it has one of the best burgers in LA. And based on this fact alone, it was on my to-do list. Well, not my to-do list because going here was not a chore to-do, so it was more on my to-enjoy-list, which are items that I must experience in the name of joy! And, here is the story of how I ended up check-marking this item of my favorite list, like I had destiny's support on the matter. On a night when I was exploring LA's famed Art District, I saw a nearby bar that had plenty of pool tables, and had a fun game night kind of vibe. My friend Conrad, loves to play pool so I made a mental note to take him here. I also made a mental note to visit the nearby BAR that had walls that seemed to have being decorated by Basquiat or Haring, or another artist who compelled beauty unto walls with graffiti cans and bold figures. When Conrad and I approached the bar, we asked the security guard which bar was this? The security guard explained that it was Royce Bar or ERB. I was dumbfounded because I felt like I had been selected by the universe to find a bar that I was looking for, on a night when I was not. It was the feeling in the moment. Looking far away, at the moment, I realize I was just attracted to the novel art work of the walls, and the bar happened to be of acclaim. I know I did not happen upon a dime that granted unlimited wishes, but, still in the moment I felt the glee of discovery, and I rather be prone to feeling bursts of unregulated joy at small discoveries that being the type of person that feels flat when he sees a movie star at their local grocery store. As soon as we went in we ordered the burger. We were not super hungry but we can get a nosh, especially one that I was looking to enjoying one day. Not knowing much of the burger, I tried it, and I was not overwhelmed with joy. The burger was good but basic. I was in love with the crispy edges of the meat. As I wrote and remember those edges, my mouth watered a bit. But other than that, the burger was just ok. I would no go there again for the burger, but I would go back to give the bar an honest try. When I went there, I did not sip a drink, but I did walk around to enjoy its fancy front, and its garden like patio. On a final note of the burger, when we went outside the security guard asked which burger was better this one or in-n-out? I know he did not mean to but by comparing this burger to the one of in-n-out, he lowered the value of the Royce burger. I would give the edge to the Royce burger, cause of the edges, and the sweet pickles that accompany it, but, again, the burger was available and this grand spot, and that is why you should get it. The artistic style of the walls was present inside the bar as well. The outside print is like graffiti, like I explained above, and so was the interior. The difference is that the outside colors were pop yellow and blue, and gave me a bit of Aztec vibes. I can be wrong but the sun as it was drawn was like I sun I have seen, when I have seen Aztec suns in the past, like on television shows, even cartoons. The inside aesthetics lacked the pop of the blue and yellow, but still had a different version of the sun. It did not read as Aztec sun, the one inside, it read more like if the sun had come to earth during the night, and had adopted an urban aesthetic, I can see how the sun at night wears a cool hoodie in the streets because of this artwork. The patio was grand! it was decorated for Halloween, not in like a super obvious way, but more in a stylistic way that made you feel that spooky season was upon us, but this decor did not need attention for days. I found the lights covered in black shawls particularly fun because I imagined that they were honoring the death by keeping the lights covered so they may continue to rest in peace. I also enjoyed the dolls, all around the patio. They could have been haunted, I hope not, I do not need an Anabelle reel upon my life. There was a creepy baby doll, standing on its hand, with a wide creepy grin. So maybe we have grotesque dolls wrong--- they looked creepy but are just enjoying themselves, kind of like the folks from Monster Inc. The green ivy (maybe not ivy) was lush and covered parts of walls. That is what made me feel like I had entered an enchanted garden, and I can imagine drinking a refreshing cocktail amongst the Ivy, completing the concept of swaying and sipping in a garden made for sophisticated trolls. The tree would have added to this vibe, except that it was covered with webs. The bar has a neon sign that reads "My that's Better." And that is a wonderful sign to hang on a bar. Why? Because it makes me believe that this bar will always get a drink right. If a bartender does not do well in the first time, then they will try again, and again, until someone says My that's better.

Came here for a quick drink and got the Pineapple Daiquiri. Really enjoyed this rendition on the Daiquiri as it added a sweet acidity without being too much. We came here early in the day so not busy at all but would have loved to stay a bit longer. Nice bar on the inside and a patio on the back.

iite so this place is perfect for literally every occasion. I been on dates, been taken to dates, broke up wit my girl, made up wit my girl, birthdays batmitzvah's etc at this place. I give it a 4 cause i cant pull up randomly and sit outside anymore and you can see this as me hating on their success, but alas... its a solid 4. MUST GET: biscuits, chicken thighs, mateo st margaritas. The burger is also extremely solid. Vegan burger is a pass but get it if you need to. Also i found these locs in the bathroom during dodgers night and i'm treating this like a cinderella slipper. If these are yours hmu ma

Loved the ambiance but I ordered the Vegan Chorizo Burger and wasn't that impressed. It was oily and I could barely taste the Chorizo seasoning. Certain bites I could taste a little but mostly I mainly tasted the base of the Vegan Burger. Fries were kind of tiny so a little difficult to really pick up and dip. My wine was nice. I'd probably just go back for drinks if I was in the area for an event.

My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. A group of my friends and I have come here three different times, really wanting to like this place because the atmosphere is beautiful and lively. Unfortunately, each visit has been consistently disappointing due to the same bartender--a shorter male with visible tattoos and facial hair, who seems to regularly work one side of the bar. On all three occasions, we experienced being ignored while trying to order, even as other guests who arrived after us were served first. The first time, we were eventually told "you guys can wait" in a rude tone of voice while he continued taking other orders. The second time, we were never helped at all and had to move to another part of the bar, where a female bartender provided much better service. The third visit was the most concerning. When we tried to get his attention, he responded in a dismissive and rude tone, and as he walked away, we overheard him make an inappropriate comment about us under his breath calling us out of our name and we felt very disrespected so much so that we just left. We completely understand that weekends can get busy, but consistently dismissive and disrespectful service--especially across multiple visits--is not acceptable and we've also seen him be rude to other guests as well. Aside from this issue, the venue itself is great, which is why we gave it multiple chances. I really hope management can address this, as it impacts the overall appearance and experience of the establishment. Thank you.

NOVEMBER 26.2025…read more I've been through many iterations of The Library Bar over the years... from small and cozy secret bar for those that work in the looming skyscrapers of Downtown LA to being some noisy urban hip hop affair that served godawful drinks (see my past review!), and on back to being a calm and casual neighborhood bar again. The interior never changes... dark... illuminated by candlelight... the bust of Shakespeare over the fireplace, the shelves of old books-- all of it remains intact. But this latest Library Bar seems to have finally dialed in what was always sorely missing in that it showcases a conscientious staff that all seem to know how to mix drinks while treating the customer well by leaving them be. On one night my date and I share a "Black Manhattan," basically a Manhattan with the generous addition of Averna, and it's terrific. On another night, I go for Happy Hour and a few pints of Guinness on draft that are surprisingly proper and go well with their excellent and, I'm told, homemade Hummus & Veggies Plate. The music at this current Library Bar is pretty much on point and is never so loud as to interfere with the conversations that patrons seem to come here for... something you should come here for too, and maybe at Happy Hour specifically if you're looking for a nice bump in your day and to spend an hour, well, happily.

The drinks were strong (in the best way ) but still super smooth and enjoyable. Shoutout to Rich for being such an incredible host--he made our group feel welcomed, taken care of, and really elevated the whole experience. A couple things to note: there is parking available, but it is paid (you can either text to pay or use the kiosk machines). The experience itself lasts about 40-60 minutes, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The only downside for me was that the bathroom is shared for both genders. For safety reasons, I personally wish they were separate--so ladies, I'd recommend going with someone just to be safe. You just never know. They also give you a little treat afterwards, which was a really nice touch and a sweet way to end the visit! Overall, I'd definitely come back and recommend it to others

Ambiance/Environment: Looove the vibes here. They have a small space, so it can get hot real quick. They'll check IDs at the entrance. There's in n out privileges until a certain time. Music: If you're into house music, then this is the lounge for you. They have different DJs during each set. Drinks: They offer beer, cocktails, and wine. I don't remember the names of the beer, but it did the job lol. The Mango Sticky Rice cocktail was really strong; I enjoyed it!

As Grand As it gets…read more I've been stopping in to Seven Grand for well over a decade now O.O and I still love this top notch whiskey bar lounge in Downtown Los Angeles. From fun nights out, special occasions, whiskey tastings, exploring the speakeasy... playing some pool, enjoying libations, taking in live music, perfect outings on the patio, the occasional cigar. So many great memories and experiences created here including some awesome date days with my other half. If stopping in for the first time you'll discover S.G. on 7th and Grand Avenue with a door person usually always at the bottom of the staircase just outside of the restaurant/cocktail bar Zaya (which has been many incarnations including Bar CDMX, V and Mas Malo). Provide them with a valid ID, as anybody over 21 should have a valid form of identification on them at all times, not just for driving or access to 21+ events or establishments, but for safety. And Seven Grand cares about everyone and their safety. They value their staff as much as their customers. And it shows in every way from thoughtful space in all directions, great pool tables, a whiskey, bourbon and scotch curated cocktail menu, even some good brew/beer. Awesome hallways with cabinet lockers, the cleanest restrooms, great dim dark warm lighting, fun fixtures and true DTLA vibes that feel old timey yet also very modern. Seven Grand is open to all and all are welcome. Stellar daily happy hour 4pm to 8pm. I love a good $10 Toki Highball at 5pm, but you can't go wrong with their classic old fashion also. All the bartenders are incredible as well as personable. S Grand is open every day from 4pm until 2am. Loads of lots close by as well as the Metro station at 7th and Metro. Though the trains currently stop just a little after midnight. Rideshare is also your friend, which now includes Waymo in the area. Discover Seven Grand also in San Diego, Austin or Denver. If planning an event you inquire with Stephen via email for personal parties, events with a budget and even corporate parties. They're very accommodating with a good amount of notice. When we had my boyfriend's birthday here they reserved a table for us and set us up with everything we needed. Thinking of having my next birthday here myself both at Seven Grand and Bar Jackalope (their hidden speakeasy). Support your awesome LA Whiskey Bar!

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it
