I had a disappointing experience with this company regarding rodent insulation. After spending over $10,000, I was assured that cellulose insulation was rodent-resistant. Unfortunately, within six months, the rodent problem returned. Additionally, the installation did not meet code requirements, as proper safeguards for electrical wires and plumbing were missing. When I requested the removal of the insulation for a more effective solution, they refused. This left me with no choice but to consider legal action. Fairly priced to others I contacted. Had the drill and fill done from outside. My concern is we did not get dense pack insulation installed. Installers did not use smaller hose to insert into wall other than large hose held against wall. Having the home re stuccoed I just had them leave styrofoam plugs and no patching. As I was sealing the holes many of the plugs easily pushed back into the wall with ease. Going to consider this a couple thousand dollar lesson. If you're considering this service, watch some YouTube videos and see how others do it. I should have and would have known better thus to say something about technique. No matter how good your ac/heater is, your insulation will save you so much money in the winter and especially the so cal summers. The other extra benefit to insulation is the noise reduction. The problem with most homes in our area is that insulation is an afterthought, with the myth being that insulation is for colder climate areas and not for the heat. Just like your coffee mug, insulation helps keep cold cold and hot hot, in the case of our homes, the temperature most comfortable for us. Back to Everguard. We saw a bunch of homes in our neighborhood with signs that will give you 50% discount if you choose them, and even though we had a feeling it was a scam we had to give it a try. Long story short, this company whose name I don't even remember and don't want to remember made it seem like they were such a great deal, but in fact, their starting price was so high that giving us all the discounts brought the quote down to a more reasonable number. So luckily, we didn't trust our neighbors and did our due diligence and got another quote. Lo and behold we found Everguard on Next Door and Roy gave us a quote that included the Alumafoil shield + blown in cellulose that was thicker than the first quote and the pink fiberglass batts for a lower price on the entire home. Another reason why these guys are cheaper, I think, is because they don't do any prep work in covering the inside of your home. They installed insulation on the exterior wall on the first floor, but the second floor they had to install it on the interior and we had to cover everything and move furniture away from the walls. I'll admit, if you don't have time or man power, these guys might not be for you, its A LOT of work. Besides that, these guys were great. The foreman Kevin and his crew was on time, courteous, and kept communication with us the entire time so we knew what was going on. We also really appreciated him being honest in letting us know we didn't need insulation in a certain area even though we were quoted for it. A day after installation, we noticed the heater hasn't kicked on as often overnight and we keep the house a warm 63. 12/16 update - same temp upstairs and downstairs. That never happens. So far so good! So if you're ever in need of some good insulation, give these guys a call. It's not the be all end all single thing that will maintain that perfect temperature in your home, but it's a good start. read more

They pumped insulation into the roof ventilation and caused the leak. Email Everguard to report the issue with pictures but never heard back. Take your time to check their work right after they're finished or they wouldn't response after they're gone. Ted is my Yelp alias. I called and left you a VM. Also I emailed you. My address is in Westminster, cross street Brookhurst and hazard. There was no leaks before the insulation job. When I saw the leak stain on my ceiling and I went up the roof to check. The leaking spot is at the vent. I removed the roof vent and found it was full of insulation materials. It caused the vent to stop spinning and let the rain water slowly soaked in. This is the most difficult review I have ever done. Understand this company delivers great customer service, quick response, and great pricing. They are very honest they don't paint, but what is not properly explained is the mess they leave behind and preparing their customers that they will need to hire a professional stucco and painting company to repair their home. You cannot spot-paint the holes. The quick patch work they do to fill the holes they drilled leaves bulges or indentions and circles bleed through the patch paint. I figured there would be some clean up I would have to do once they left. In my situation my back yard and driveway was covered in concrete dust that the just hosed down to get the dust down and left a mess. My furniture and beds were covered in dust. We had to have them do some interior walls and the workers didn't cover any of the furniture. I felt they must not make much of a mess if they aren't covering anything up. If you have them do your interior walls cover everything with plastic. We had to wash everything to get all the dust off. Bedding, clothes, and towels. It was not a fun weekend. You will need to wipe down your walls as well to get all the dust out of your house. I just wish they would have prepared us for the mess they would leave or give us a heads up to cover all of our belongings. I do not know why but our house runs about 6 degrees warmer after the insulation. For some reason our house just stays hot now so we are running the A/C every evening to get the temperature down. This is my pain point on this review. They did their job. The aftermath of cleaning and the unexpected cost of repairing and repainting has been expensive and frustrating. I thought insulation would create a better temperature in the house but it didn't work with my home. read more

These guys are awesome! I have a 1000. Square-foot house from the 50s that had absolutely no insulation in it. It was hot in the summer to major extremes, and extremely cold in the winter. I took quotes from six different companies that I found from yelp and all of them gave me quotes between $2500-$4400. Evergaurd (Cynthia and Steve) gave me one for $1350. After my research I learned that you don't have to remove the old insulation unless if there is rodent feces in it so I left mine. Also the options are batt (the puffy fiberglass pads) and blow in cellulose (recycled paper or treated with Boric Acid.) The Blowin gets into all the nooks and crannies but can be a little messier, however I don't have any of the particles flying around my attic at all (I have to go in our side door to access the laundry room that connects to the attic, do I see it daily.) The guys came at their appointment time, were extremely professional, Steve let us make three payments, and the insulation is doing its job. read more
