In the fall of 2022 we decided we wanted to explore tearing down and rebuilding on our lot in the Town of Vienna. We spoke to several different builders and ultimately chose Evergreene because they had floor plans that met our specifications and were able to provide us with price certainty. The process was incredibly easy and streamlined from day one. Emma Cappellini guided us through the initial contracting and spent time helping us select the tiering for our selections so we could lock in on a price for financing. We then worked with Will Larson who managed the initial operations of the project before passing us over to Daniel Russell who was the on-site project manager. Daniel was always one-step ahead of us, identifying any potential fixes and fastidiously lining up sub-contractors so our project was completed both on-time and with the highest quality. We were also incredibly impressed with Lisa Griffin in the design center. She helped us dial in on our final selections and we couldn't be happier with the end product! We were shocked because there were several times where we were issued credits because the cost of supplies actually went down! We also recommend working with Sara Ricketts to get your blinds ordered and pre-installed. She has installed in Evergreene Homes before so her information can be provided on request and she can easily coordinate with their project managers to install prior to closing. Thank you to the entire Evergreene team for making this such a pleasant and enjoyable process! read more

We have had an awful experience with both Evergreene's construction crews and their sales department. The construction crew has been blocking both our and a neighbor's driveway whenever they please despite being told not to do so. They have thrown trash all over our property. They also had to remediate for asbestos and left many materials on the site where the next day heavy machinery was picking up the materials and causing a huge cloud of dust to blow all over our property, our cars and the yard where my pets play. Additionally, Evergreene has been parking blocking a fire hydrant and crosswalk which is illegal and dangerous to children crossing the street who cannot see oncoming traffic. Despite reaching out to Evergreene on these issues nothing has changed and it appears that we will have to turn to law enforcement to correct the danger Evergreene is causing. I also contacted Evergreene regarding a lot they had. It took six weeks for Evergreene to offer me an appointment, and they only did so once the lot was under contract. It is my opinion that the way Evergreene Homes has handled things has been dangerous, illegal and without regard to anyone around their projects. We have neighbors who also lived next door to one of their projects who were beside themselves over the construction and damage to their property and now have issues with the people who purchased that house. I would never recommend doing business with Evergreene Homes. read more

They are building some beautiful homes in Bethesda and N Potomac with on-trend finishes and very livable floorplans.

Andrew and Ryan were amazing to work with. They were professional and incredibly knowledgeable. They went above and beyond their job to make sure my home was ready for me to move in, and have made sure I was completely satisfied with the quality of workmanship, following up with me several times since to ensure I am happy in my new home. read more

We purchased an Evergreene home in 2015 and have since moved to another new construction home. Our move has made things glaringly clear how much more superior our new home is to the Evergreene built home. We had numerous issues with plumbing fixtures, cracked tile, and just overall build quality which we had to pay out of pocket to get fixed prior to moving. While searching for our new home, we knew to avoid Evergreene especially as their single family homes are even more expensive. There's no coincidence that a lot of their newer builds sit on the market longer than most. Luckily, our home was a townhouse so a lot of the outside issues were covered by our HOA. I would definitely NOT recommend them for a single family home. The only Evergreene personnel I would recommend is John Longo. Otherwise, their unresponsiveness and overall disregard for accountability left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

Making the sale was very easy, Evergreene was more than willing to work with us on deposits which was one reason why we went with them. The other was their designs. Why this builder is only getting two stars is for the finished product and process. We were promised quality construction and attention to detail, was told that all of their homes are built to be model homes. Well, that was definitely not the case with our home. There is a lot of very sloppy work, especially the finishing work, paint etc is just subpar. The list is just too long to go through. We were so excited to be in this home but when we got in it we were nothing more than disappointed! Especially after all of the money we had to put down and the cost of this house. There were some items that we were told were standard but as the build went on and it wasn't done I was always just told that it's a design change, why were we not told this is beyond me. A design change for everything that we asked about? Seems a bit sketchy to me. The subs they use in my opinion were not very good, they do average work. Our hardwood floors had chips and rub marks on it and we were just told to get a paint pen and fill in all of the chips and scratches, really? On a brand new house? Nobody from Evergreene ever reached out to see how we were enjoying their home. I would love to hear from the owner, and would be more than willing to fill him in on all of the problems we had/have so hopefully they can be corrected for someone else. If I ever build another home I can say that I probably would not use EVG Homes again. Disappointed.... read more

This review is in regard to the Warranty Team for Preston Lake in Harrisonburg, VA. David and his crew (Alexa and Jorge) have done an amazing job. We closed on our home just over a year ago, so we have had our 60-day warranty service, and well as our 1-year. David has been super helpful, not only making warranty corrections, but also answering general homeowner questions we had. He is always accessible and responsive, and has gone above and beyond. His crew is very professional, respectful, and always cleaning up after themselves (including vacuuming up after dusty jobs). We feel comfortable and safe having them in our home. They do a great job taking their time and making things look really good! With any new build, you can expect to have a few issues. The Evergreene team has gone above and beyond to help us with our new home and make sure issues are corrected in a timely manner. We love our home and really appreciate the warranty team! read more

We live in a home built in 2019 by Evergreene Homes, Northern Virginia. During the project planning, we and the builder agreed and signed off on some items presented to us on builder's plans. Upon moving in, we found out that these items were different as represented to us. Evergreene Homes refused to remedy. In addition, other items such as some of the house gutters are overflowing, drainage tile is badly slugged by foundation dirt (just 1 year after installation), and about 60% of roof shingles are found defective. So we extend words of warning: Evergreene Homes potential buyers by aware of this builder! read more

My experience with Evergreene has convinced me to write my first yelp review. We moved into our Evergreene house approximately three years ago. We were happy with the design and construction process. In particular, the company's interior selection process was nice because they offered plenty of options, but the process itself wasn't overwhelming. Delivery was on time with no surprises. What has convinced me that I need to write a yelp review for Evergreene, however, is the company's post-delivery service. After delivery, Evergreene shifts the customer point of contact from a project manager to a warranty manager (as an aside, my sense is that there is a single warranty manager for all of northern Virginia). Our experience with our warranty manager, Frank, has been outstanding. By way of example, during a recent storm, we noticed moisture (not standing water, just dampness on the cement) in our basement mechanical room. I emailed Evergreene at 10:03 pm. Frank was at our house before 9am the next morning to check it out. He pulled down the insulation himself, spotted the issue, and described the repair process. Repairs were scheduled as soon as I provided availability and third party suppliers were pinned down. No discussion of warranty scope or the fact that we were outside of the 2-year direct Evergreene warranty. He just identified and fixed the problem. All within 12 hours of my email. That example is just one of many instances where Evergreene has stood behind their product, even when they probably didn't have to from a contractual perspective. Bottom line: l've known many people who have built new homes in Northern Virginia. Everyone has had some form of post-delivery issues. That is just the nature of having a house. All I could ask for is a builder to stand behind their work. Not only has Evergreene done that, they go the extra mile to ensure that, even years after the fact, items are corrected. I strongly recommend them. read more

What a truly bizarre experience. Pricing in the DC Metro Area for either a build on our lot or available lot within a development is a step above a typical purchase of an existing home. Since Evergreene (right on their website) offers a design & build on your lot program, we approached their sales folks and couldn't have been any more disappointed. They did everything in their power to avoid a phone call and factually from the battery of e-mail, were only interested unless we already had either an existing home/lot purchased. In fact, that's what were told over e-mail. Their time is "valuable" and they "prioritize" their customers. Unreal. What's worse is that one of their sales folks went out of their way to lurk around my wife's Linkedin page. Really odd experience and we're happy that we went with another Developer. Why take an untraditional route and beg for someone to take your money. My advice to anyone considering this approach, do your homework, really read the reviews online and attend informational teleconferences online. read more

We signed our contract 3 months before Covid hit- the home was built during the worst time for any business struggling with the supply chain, rising prices on materials, and a shortage of skilled contractors. We have had and continue to have issues with the overall quality/finish BUT, this review is to address the savage support we have received from David Westcott- he is the onsite "Wolf" who solves problems, follows through, is attentive to detail, has great communication, leaves no stone unturned, and goes the extra mile to satisfy concerns. Evergreene is lucky to have someone like David to represent the post-buying experience. read more

There are many reasons why this builder is on the DO NOT BUILD WITH list! From the bottom to the very top they are unethical and deceptive and will try and get away with whatever they can. Structurally the house if fine. All the finishes and cosmetics are truly awful. The absolute worst thing is their customer service. You've done a bad job so fix it. Don't just take the money and ghost people. Fix the problems you have created EVG!!!! Go with any other builder but keep a very long distance from this company! read more

Building a new home is quite an undertaking (we have gone through the process twice) and the folks at Evergreene made it as easy as possible. It starts at the top...the owner, Rob Capellini, is a good, decent businessman and we always felt like he and his staff had our back. From getting county permits through to picking options to fixing problems after we moved in, Evergreene came through. We have been in our home almost 7 years at this point and we are still very happy with our experience. I'm writing this to share my experience with Evergreen Homes. First of all, they designed and built a magnificent home with universal access because I'm a double above the knee amputee. The quality of my home is magnificent including the practical considerations that truly make this a special place that I look forward to coming to. I have been in living in my home for nearly 7 years and Evergreen Homes continues to support me in my home even with the few minor issues that have arisen outside our warranty. I would unequivocally recommend working with Evergreen Homes to build your American Dream. If I were to build a new home or a second home I wouldn't hesitate to use Evergreen Homes again. Rob Cappellini and his team are humble, easy to work with and will make your experience memorable and rewarding. Respectfully, Colonel (Ret) Gregory D Gadson read more

We built a new construction home at Lake Anna and the building process was smooth and uneventful - which is a good thing. The home was delivered on time with no surprises. The only hiccup we had was when the kitchen appliance package we chose was discontinued, Evergreene did not honor the price we had chosen for the discontinued package; therefore, we paid more for our kitchen package and did not receive what we originally wanted. Other than that the staff was very helpful and friendly and we love our new home. read more

I had a pretty rough experience with my new home purchase with evergreen homes in Lewes DE . The construction itself seems pretty good so I cant complain about that but the customer service rep Caitlin has been everything but kind and helpful. She ignores emails for days and weeks at a time. I now have a new home that I cannot live in and work out of comfortably . read more

My wife and I purchased a lot in Lake Manassas 3 years ago and met with multiple builders before choosing Evergreene Homes to build our house. We can't say enough about their craftsmanship, design, architecture, project management and customer care. We made many changes to the elevation and design to ensure that this would be our dream home. After 2 years of living in our home we have had no issues. Every time we had a question or concern, we worked with the project manager and if needed, the Owner Rob to discuss. We are so grateful we made this decision to partner with Evergreene Homes. Building a new home is a complicated process. There are so many decisions it can be overwhelming. You really need a partner you trust to help navigate it all. When my wife and I met Rob Cappellini, he was just five years into creating Evergreene Homes. We had toured a spec house in our desired neighborhood and I was struck by how wide the halls and staircases were, the uniqueness of the layout and the quality of the finishes. Rob told us that he'd previously worked for a large builder and he knew the games and gimmicks out there and he wanted to do it better. We chose Rob to build our home over five years ago. To this day, I am pleased with the decision. We love our home. Our Dartmouth model is well designed and well constructed. Rob stands by his work too. For him, it's not just about the warranty period, it's about making sure things are right - even five years later. That's rare for a home builder. Before our occupancy permit was issued, the county inspector carefully went through the whole house. I had never owned a home before so I asked the inspector for his thoughts when he was finished. He told me that in his 20 year career Evergreene had built the best homes he'd seen. That endorsement really meant a lot to me. Every building project has hurdles, but it's invaluable to know that you're working with a team that really cares about you and stands by their work. I highly recommend Evergreene Homes. We would choose them again without hesitation. read more

I wish I feel differently, but it's unfortunate that I have not enjoyed the process of building my dream home with Evergreene Homes. The process is not complete and I have already been quite unhappy with a few things so far, mainly on the customer service end. I probably should wait until my homes's completion but need to vent and hopefully this review will serve as fair warnings to others who consider Evergreene. Background of the story is that we jumped into the building process late because previous buyer backed out. We signed the contract in early December and home is projected to finish April. With this, we understood that making structural changes were going to be hard and didn't attempt to challenge them. However, something as simple as increasing the island countertop size was met with resistance. From my research, it could have been addressed appropriately. Other problems are as follows. One, it is very difficult to get someone to answer questions. And if they do, it's vague, usually takes 48 business hours, and response is a typical "no" esp if it's a request that will entail more work or coordination. Two, they lack continuity in their communication. Our first update for the home was in late January regarding the upcoming pre-drywall inspection. Evergreene decided to change project managers in the midst of our project. Both of whom we liked but felt insecure in the change midway. I think this has led to us not knowing who to reach out to address our concerns and needs. Also, when we were notified of the change from the custom homes coordinator, we were deterred from communicating to our project manager. The coordinator commented that he would update us every 2 weeks-- have not seen an email from him..... Instead, we ended up emailing the current PM (whoops broke their rule). Rarely anyone reaches out to update you on anything unless if you reach out to them. One person who attempted to update us was anything but clueless-- she tried to tell us what was going to happen in the next week-- when it had already happened... The only thing we have been confident about is their quality of work compared to some in the DMV area. We have been satisfied with their warranties, quality ratings, products used, and the pre-drywall inspection report ... barring a few minor concerns that they need to address; everything looked great. Yes, I really do believe in quality work.. but my experience has been anything but unsettling. I understand I am not their only client, but would have liked to feel as one. I guess they feel like we're stuck in a contract and can just proceed however they want. I will update this review once we have completed inspection prior to move in and at our one year inspection. read more

We built our home with Evergreene in 2013. Through the entire building process (sales, negotiation, design, permitting, construction, and post delivery),we could not have been more satisfied with Evergreene. Let's just say I was a very involved customer and was probably very frustrating at times with my attention to detail. Evergreene stayed engaged and diligently worked hard to meet my expectations, make adjustments or corrections if needed, and ensure that our family would be completely satisfied with our new home. We hired an independent home inspector who thoroughly inspected the home at multiple stages during the building process. at every inspection his assessment was that Evergreene in many ways would go above and beyond other builders in terms of quality and attention to detail. We built on a private lot and our neighbors used other builders on their lots. Our neighbors still talk about how much of better job evergreene did. They regularly cleaned our private road, kept the job site neat and even fully repaved sections of road that were damaged due to the increased truck traffic. This is a private road and they did this as a courtesy for us and our neighbors (7 years later and those are the best looking parts of our road). Home builds are never perfect and things will go wrong but it's how the company handles it that lets you know their quality. read more

When my wife and I began planning to have a custom home built on a plot of land for the first time in our life, we were apprehensive and skeptical. After a long interviewing process with four other local builders, we selected Evergreene Homes and are so glad that we did. We have been living in our new home since December and feel blessed every single day. It was a long process and certainly not always smooth, but a project of this magnitude is never easy. What really made a difference was how Evergreene and their employees were always there for us. They really listened to our suggestions, frustrations and complaints and always chose the path that benefited us, putting our fears and skepticism to rest. They always met with us when we needed them and always returned our calls on-time and without any hesitation. Even now, 5 months after we have moved into our home, every time we have a concern they are there for us. For us, and based on the experiences that we had with this company, we would recommend them without any hesitation for the building of your dream home. read more

July 13, 2020 For Us...Evergreene Was the Way Recently, we purchased a new Evergreene home in the Preston Lake community in Harrisonburg, Virginia. That experience which started with the selection of a model and continued through the entire building process was fantastic! The Evergreene staff, Krystal P. who is the sales director at Preston Lake, and Tim H. and Ryan T. who are the project managers, were superb! All these folks worked so hard to make the total building process of our new home an enjoyable experience. They strived to make sure the process ran perfectly and was an enjoyable experience for all. This did not stop with the completion and settlement of our new home; but has continued ever since. Frequently these folks check in with us, making sure everything is going well and are willing to quickly correct anything that needs their attention. However, there were few things needing correction because Evergreene builds a sound and well-built home. Everyone involved should be commended on a job well done. Along with our purchase of a new Evergreene home, we utilized an awesome Evergreene program in which we literally sold our old home to Evergreene. This was one of the best decisions we ever made! It eliminated much of the stress that one typically experiences when purchasing a new home. For example: * We did not have to work with a real estate agent and pay commissions * The price that Evergreene offered for our old home was extremely fair and quite comparable with what we would have received had we sold the house through an agent. * There were no open houses or showings to go through. * A home inspector did not come and eventually require that a list of repairs be made. * We did not have to do any cleaning after moving, and we only took what we wanted. * And one of the best features was that the sale of our old house was coordinated with the closing on the new house. We did not have to plan for an "intermediate home" to live in after leaving one home and before moving into another. Throughout the selling process Jason M., the land acquisition manager, kept us informed of everything taking place and answered any questions we had. He was the greatest! We were asked to do very little. Required tasks were done by others. The absence of this stress gave us time to concentrate on our move up. What a relief! In our case, since we were buying an Evergreene home and selling the old one to Evergreene, both settlements were done at the same time. At settlement, first, we had settlement on the sale of our old house, and it was immediately followed by settlement on the new one. Seamless would be the word to describe it. As an added plus, after settlement, Evergreene gave us ample time to take care of moving. In our case we stayed an additional two weeks in the old house and were able to move at a more comfortable pace. In closing, our experience both buying and selling with Evergreene took a stressful process practically stress free. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I would highly recommend Evergreene Homes to others! Sincerely, Lynn Preston Lake read more

My wife and I built an Evergreene Home. While there has been some ups and downs which we knew when building a new home. We know what we signed up for as far as the drama. We are very happy with our location. With the record amount of rain over the last year I feel all things being equal Evergreene has delivered to this point. Perfect?!...No. Are we pleased.....Absolutely. Debby James gave us her word about a few things when we were just beginning this journey and she backed it up. So I am thankful for that. There was a lot of drama involved in when could we put down for one of the houses in the development and where were we on this "list". Lots of drama. In the end we were lucky enough to purchase one of these beautiful (addison) homes. We had our realtor Lisa Thurston (whom we love and have trusted for over 10 years! She is amazing!!!!!!) with us every step of the way to keep everything in check and not miss anything which we clearly would have done without her help. Designing and choosing our preferences was at times overwhelming and done over a couple of visits. Jenny from the design center was SO helpful and professional. She really got to know us and helped us spend our money where we wanted and save it other areas. It is a game of give an take unless money is in a bottomless pit at your house LOL. We ended up with a combination that we are VERY happy with. Once production started and Evergreen Homes took over the site. It was professional and moved very quickly IMHO. Jacob Hill was our production manager and responsible for building our dream home in Alexandria, VA. He is a Marine and knows how to talk to people. The trades at the site respect him as he does them! His customer service is above and beyond, second to none. He has been responsive to our requests and thoughts. He would do things that we had talked about...He was ALWAYS listening to us. We had a home inspector come out and look over everything before we hung the drywall. He found some minor things. He said normally he would have a couple pages of things and some major. He said this is my list and there is not much to change and for sure nothing major and this was a well built house so far. I can't stress how important a good production manager is....and how lucky we got with Jacob Hill. We still have a 60 day look and a year look. Where we can fix things that we did not notice (minus paint and floors) or things that are now a problem. We have a list and we are adding to it. It will be OK Jacob Hill will take care of it. If you google buying a house over building a new house you will find a list of Pros and Cons. Once you decide you kind know what you are getting into. We choose building a new house. It WAS stressful for sure! I am glad it is over. We LOVE our new Evergreene Home. It is PERFECT for US. They created an opportunity to build in Alexandria. Look around not much room for that. It was OUR decision and we could not be much happier. read more

We built a house with Evergreene four years ago now. While not everything is perfect (houses truly aren't built the way they used to be), Evergreene has been incredibly helpful to fix issues related to the initial build. We had a leak coming through our kitchen ceiling, and the plumber came out three times (at our expense) and could not resolve the problem. After a year of having a hole in our kitchen ceiling and master closet, and a bowl on the kitchen floor, we figured it out ourselves (they missed a coupling and some cement on pipes). The plumber said it was not their fault (it was behind the wall...?!). We reached out to Evergreene to confirm the plumbing company we were working with did the initial plumbing. They quickly stepped in to help and within a couple of weeks, the plumbing was fixed and all drywall was patched, and patched well. I was worried it would be obvious where the ceiling was patched, but it's not (I am a perfectionist, so this is saying a lot)! They also helped us get refunded for the plumbing services we had paid for. I'm grateful for their commitment to homeowners even years down the road! read more

Don't Recommend. After more than a year and a half of repeated texts, emails, calls and threatening to sue, Evergreen has still not succeeded in fixing the items that needed fixing on the one year punch list. Most calls texts and emails to the project manager were never answered. Scheduled visits for repairs sometimes never happened - no call or email letting me know they couldn't come. Even a formal letter and call from the COO promising to fix the issues were not delivered upon. So disappointed that they basically abandoned us once they had our money at closing. read more

It's unfortunate that Yelp doesn't allow for 0 stars. I'm a homeowner of an Evergreene house (not home) in the Sunset Cove development for 12 months now. This house has become a place we hate to be. The development is excellent, it's just the house. Our feelings are a result confusing design process, poor construction quality, lack of overall quality assurance, disconnected management, and inability of the executives to follow through on promises. We've had issues with every aspect of the house including: 2 internal water leaks due to poor plumbing quality/QA, incorrectly wired electrical system, a noisy HVAC system that sounds like Chinese water torture, holes in the roof, 3 days of the house being torn up for drywall repairs (I think it took longer to repair than install the drywall), and the fireplace that was venting into the house, septic one way valve installed backwards (sewage backup), and I'm just getting started. There is a reason this company has an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau. Take my experience into account when considering Evergreene as your builder. https://www.bbb.org/us/va/chantilly/profile/home-builders/evergreen-homes-0241-236022260 read more
