The service was fine but the business side operates very much like a scam. I was laid off from my job and notified them I need to cancel my monthly service (as the contract 100% allows). I was told I couldn't cancel unless I talked to sales. I was put on a terminal hold for 25mins and eventually hung up. Since then I've notified them 10x in writing that I've cancelled my contract but they continue to bill me. I hired your company to eliminate pests, yet since starting service, the situation has gotten noticeably worse. I originally had one anthill -- now I have three. Spiders are building new webs within two days of your technicians leaving. Instead of solving the problem, your treatments have made it feel like I'm dealing with an infestation that never existed before. I now have more pests than I had before hiring you, which is absolutely ridiculous for a professional pest control company. Your team needs to reevaluate whatever treatments are being applied and provide a real, effective solution. They put a cancellation fee in the contract knowing that you will probably cancel because they suck as a company! Anybody reading this review do yourself a favor and get somebody else. I am deeply disappointed by the subpar service and lack of integrity exhibited by this company. The aggressive solicitation, absence of empathy, and overall poor service were beyond frustrating. While the technicians themselves were courteous, we suspect that they may have inadvertently introduced fleas into our home. Additionally, several months after the initial treatment, I was stung by a wasp due to their failure to properly treat areas where nests were located. When we attempted to cancel the contract on the same day we signed it, the sales representative flatly refused, which I believe constitutes a violation of the contract's terms. Despite our repeated attempts to contact customer service, it took forever to actually cancel the contract, and we're ben once hung up on when put on hold. We were ultimately forced to pay a termination fee of $279 to end the contract, which, while stipulated in the agreement, felt unreasonable given the circumstances. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. It is rare to encounter a company that so blatantly disregards customer satisfaction and fails to address issues in a meaningful way. I wasn't going to write this but I was so irritated that the rep could not take no for an answer. His buzzwords and ethos-logos rhetoric really put me off and I know that if I wasn't already aware of some of the conflicting evidence, I would have been sucked into the salesman pitch. So here's some information from the other side so you can make an informed decision. For some background, I currently work as a nurse in oncology (cancer) and regularly read through peer-reviewed studies as I'm currently working on my second master's and doctorate as a nurse practitioner. Also a general environmental enthusiast and local pollinator advocate. The rep really couldn't take no for an answer when I emphasized that I really just want to steer clear away from pesticides both as an environmental advocate and general concern for long-term health (fogging does not have enough long-term human longitudinal studies or meta-analysis studies, he even admitted he didn't think it's been around for longer than 30 years). Here are some of his arguments and my counter-arguments: - The big thing he was trying to convince me since he knew I grow organic vegetables and fruit is that the product (in this case, the mosquito fogger), is not really a chemical because it's "plant-based" as it derives from chrysanthemum. The argument that anything plant-based is safe is null because there are plants that are toxic to humans (e.g. foxglove, belladonna). Additionally, if it is chrysanthemum-based then it is likely a pyrethrin pesticide which is NOT "pollinator-safe" as they claim and is likely synthetically augmented as most commercial-grade pyrethrin-based products are due to resistance from overuse over the decades - When I asked for the drug name of their product, he said they could not give me the information unless I purchased, but they claim they have studies from the manufacturer, which is obviously a blatant conflict of interest and he told me he was not aware of any independent studies. - I said I don't generally mind the pests they try to get rid of other than mosquitos and his argument was the pesticide targets on exoskeletons so it would only affect "mosquitos, fleas, and ticks." I will say that I do not have a lot of entomology knowledge, so take that with a grain of salt, but bees and mosquitos both have exoskeletons made of chitin. He was not able to elaborate when I brought this up. - They argued that because it targets only the pests you want to get rid of, it does not affect the general ecosystem. This is NOT true as many of our native birds (e.g. Eastern bluebirds, hummingbirds) are omnivores and can't rely on nectar or seeds alone and more than half their diet consists of insects that are directly and non-selectively impacted by pesticides, especially pyrethrin. Hummingbirds, dragonflies, and bats are WONDERFUL creatures who absolutely devour mosquitos so I highly recommend making accommodations on your property to encourage these guys. - He claimed it is pet-safe. Pyrethin is a known toxin to cats. It can cause tremors that can lead to seizures that may become fatal. Now, this is my anecdotal experience (so also take this with a grain of salt). The homeowner before me used a lot of pesticides from Evergreen, but we still had a significant mosquito problem the first Summer we were in the home and had little to no beneficial predatory insects (fireflies, native ladybugs, dragonflies, praying mantis). Since being pesticide-free for just one year of planting natives and encouraging native wildlife, we have had less mosquitos compared to this time last year and have already noticed fireflies, ladybugs, dragonflies, praying mantises, and more bluebirds and hummingbirds. Please do not let these people bully you into thinking they have a miracle drug that won't affect pollinators. It is not true and it DOES impact the overall ecosystem and we do not have enough evidence on the long-term effects on humans (carcinogen risk, hormone dysregulation, neurotoxicity). Then he didn't even give her a copy of the contract. We had to pay $275 to cancel the contract. Plus in Chesterfield County it is illegal to ignore a No Soliciting sign. When I pointed out that although I appreciate that they are trying for business, that I have multiple "No Soliciting" signs b/c I do not want to be bothered in the evening b/c that is our family time, he stated "We have to knock on every door, it's our policy". Sitting on my front porch and a truck rolls around the corner, no brakes whatsoever, and proceeded to hammer up my street at least 50+ mph. We live on a cultesac . Dead end street. LOTS OF YOUNG KIDS. I politely walked up to him and asked "any reason you felt the need to drag race up our street"? His response: shrugged shoulders "I never went over 30". I asked him if he wanted to stand on that statement. His reply "whatever". Evergreen had sent me an email informing me that my lawn would be treated on Wednesday, 12/11/2024. After having their service since this past summer, I asked to terminate the service because I could not afford it any longer. That was on a Tuesday, 12/10/2024. They would not take NO for an answer. Then on Wednesday, 12/10/2024, I again called them to request that they discontinue service. Instead, Evergreen informed me that my contract still had another quarter and that I had agreed to that. Then I learned from my bank that Evergreen had already debited my account the previous day, 12/09/2024! Then Evergreen sent me a VIDEO purporting to show that I had agreed to their contract. First, I never agreed to be videoed. And I didn't even see a videocam! Second, when the video showed up, it was of very poor quality and the person in the video was NOT me! I'm 86 years old and I'm Chinese-American by ethnicity who joined the Army in the sixties, so Vietnam was my war. The young man in the B&W video was white and he was asking and answering his own questions! I told Evergreen that this could be construed as fraud. My bank, after examining the Evergreen issue, agreed to remove the Evergreen charges. They further asked me to report this to the Bedford County Sheriff's Office, which I did. According to the contract I signed I either have to pay them $270 or somehow convince a friend or family member to assume the contract. Only If I died can the contract be terminated. I was not happy with my service from Evergreen. I fell into the sales trap, when a really friendly young man came to my door and successfully used all his sales training to get me to buy in. I did some research later and realized he lied about being the owner, his age, and personal life. He told me I had until my appointment to cancel if I decided I didn't want the service, but then the technician arrived early, before I had a chance to cancel. He told me about all the bugs my neighbors were seeing, and even after telling him that I'd only seen ants, he insisted that my all of my neighbors were starting to see the problem and they were all under contract (another sales pitch lie) My first treatment went well, the technician was friendly and seemed to do a good job. Every visit after that was terrible. They locked me into a 2 year contract that financially didn't make sense to cancel early with the penalty. I would ask them to come inside for treatment, and they would always tell me that just doing the outside would fix the problems inside. They would notify me the day before they were coming which didn't give me a chance to make sure someone would be home or ask for interior service. When Id call to reschedule, they would just say they would do the outside, and I could call back to have them come do the inside if it didn't work. Luckily my problem was minor, ants, that were handled by just laying down terro traps. A small percentage compared to the price I was paying Evergreen to come 4 times a year. The one time I did have an issue with bird mites, the technician told me it would clear up on its own. The technicians would come and leave a list of everything they did, sending nice pictures of the crawl space and pictures of the house that were supposedly proof that work had been done. And I would come home and see the cobwebs and spiderwebs they supposedly cleaned were still very much there. I had another company come out trying to sell me pest control. Evergreen had come a week - 2 weeks earlier, and the company pointed out everything they had missed. I understand they were competitors, but they were also not wrong. I cancelled as soon as I could based on the contract, but they had apparently already scheduled the next quarters visit, and showed up, did a poor job, and charged me for it. I give 2 stars because the first technician was nice... but I never saw him again. It was truly a waste of money, I never saw any benefit of having them. I am over a year without them, and haven't noticed any difference. In fact I haven't had the ant problem or bird mite problem since. read more

I was approached in my driveway by a guy representing Evergreen Pest Solutions. He heard my dogs and preceded to sell me on snake repellent and even referred to two other people that had purchased due to those concerns in my area. Since one of my dogs getting bitten by a copperhead several years ago I was very interested. I also was concerned about my crawl space spraying due to the fact I have a LVAD heart pump and haven't been able to go under the house to spray etc for the last 4 years. He was quick to say that would be covered so I also asked about termite treatment and he said that someone would contact me about an inspection etc. I agreed with that. That evening a tech came and sprayed inside outside as I watched and asked if he went under house and he said they would not let him go in crawl space. I said have you put the snake repellent down. He said no they don't do that. This was at 6 pm so I was going to call first of week and complain and cancel do to misrepresenting their service when the person that lied called and stated my credit card info was wrong after he told me it went through the other evening. He admitted to making a mistake with the services but needed the card info. I told him I was not happy and was not going to move forward with this company and he then got angry and said to take it up with the office. The office called the following week and I stated my case and after several days and phone calls they finally said they would do those services..... probably because they did not have correct info to just charge me. As far as I know they could just spray water!! I had lost all trust in the integrity of this company. They at this point told me they would just send it to collections. Aggressive and wily salesman knocked on my door last week. I repeatedly said I already have a pest control company, I'd like to think about it, discuss it with my husband, and asked for brochure, card, website, etc., none of which he had available. Cajoled and harrassed me until I said I'd give them a trial period. Next thing I know, I'm signing computer screens with no information offered to read. Then I had to do some kind of verification, during which you can't say anything but "yes" or "no", and that's the first I heard anything about any early termination fee, but was too rattled to say "What the heck?!" Then he immediately sent a crew over to do an outdoor service, for which I paid $95, even though he quoted $85 and promised to make up the $10 difference. Lie. And apparently, once this service was done, I was "locked in" to a year-long contract! That's a brief trial period? Not what I had in mind. I am very unhappy about being pressured to sign what I found out is a 1-year contract, only to find out later when I had time to research the company, that they have a reputation for being dishonest and using questionable high-pressure sales tactics. He completely failed to disclose that I had 3 days to change my mind, and when I called the company 6 days after his visit, I was told I have to pay a $279 termination fee! For services not even rendered! I call this unethical and practically extortion. If it is, in fact, a small local company, then why can't a person with a soul talk to me and waive this unreasonable fee? We switched to Evergreen after a salesman came up to our house and talked about how Evergreen would get rid of our spider webs, come out as often as they need to, treat the yard. etc. We were convinced and cancelled out Terminix service to switch to them. We made a huge mistake. They didn't show up for the initial appointment. Then, ever since Evergreen treated our house about a month ago, we have seen more ants and spiders than ever before. Two weeks after the first treatment I called and requested someone come back because of the numerous bugs I was seeing. As soon as the technician walked up to the house, he commented on all the spider webs and asked if the house was treated 2 weeks ago. The technician didn't spray anything because he said it was too soon to spray again so instead he left ant bait and said he put something outside to deter the ants. One week later, I'm seeing more ants than ever. Customer service offers no solutions and now I want to cancel this service to go back to Terminix. Where do we begin: I was told when I signed up for this stupid company 2 years ago that it included termite inspections - LIE. They now tell me (after 2 years) it's not included and they never inspected even though they said they would. So I call in about this upset and I'm told that their management (seriously) just up and left. Great sign of a TERRIBLE company...every single manager picking up and leaving. Also - what kind of pest company isn't licensed to do a termite inspection??? So as I'm grilling Irene (the awful manager that hung up on me) on why this hasn't been done she switches script. Keep in mind, I've been told by 3 different people that the inspection is included, 2 that it isn't. So I can't get a straight story either way. This manager says "oh well then it's not included" after telling me it WAS and that I could have someone out there in the next 4-6 weeks for an inspection. That's when I got even more angry and asked her to explain which it was, if it is included or not. And that's when Irene, a manager at evergreen, hung up the phone on me because I told her I would wait for confirmation my services have been canceled. Instead of simply sending the email and having a customer KNOW their services have been cancelled, when I said "I will wait for the email" she said, her words exactly "okay you can wait then. Charged me for pest control service but I have mice nesting in my crawlspace and no mention of it from them! I originally called for termite bond/service since I leave near the water and have a lot of wood on my house (service is very common in the south). They said they had a termite service but sent pest control first. Then I tried to schedule Termite service and they said it was a misunderstanding but termite services were coming soon. It never happened. I'm much happier with Accel Pest & Termite Control. Evergreen charged me for service even though I have mice, made me pay for an extra 30 days before I could terminate the contract, back charged me the initial discount that was offered and said they would not accept my written request to cancel! I had to actually call them and verbally terminate my account. This company is ridiculous! Too bad I can't give zero stars. read more

Do not sign an agreement with them because they clearly don't trust in their product by pushing that on you. Going back to another company that worked. Nothing against their service techs, they are great. However the salesman NEVER told me I was signing or had to sign a 2 year contract and that NOTHING could get me out of the contract. The service was on my Dad's house. He became ill and we had to move home into an Assisted Living Facility and put his house up for sale. I was told moving was not an excuse to cancel the contract. So what would be a legitimate reason? If he no longer lives there and selling the house, why shouldn't that be legitimate. It's not like we couldn't prove he moved?! These folks have done a really good job. I couldn't figure out why they had only two stars. But if you look, you'll see that all the one star ratings are from people who have never used them. The complaints are about the sales tactics. I rarely listen to door to door salesmen. In fact, I don't really get why people are so upset. You know, I just don't answer the door for people I don't want to talk to. I did talk to Evergreen, and I am glad I did. But that's not the point of this review...... We have good service from them so far. No pest issues, and they have kept the mosquitoes in check. But I am really happy with the quick reply to my urgent call for a yellow jacket removal. See, I found out the hard way that I am now fatally allergic to stings. When I called for some help, they had someone out the next day to take care of it. Stay away!! Company does not hold their end of the contract, provides no worth while service and will only take your money! Sales person was super nice, gave us a deal we couldn't refuse and signed us up. Our first "service" turned out to be a disaster! The service guy was at our property for no more than 15 min. arrived unannounced and ended up spraying all over our deck furnitures and cat food! I Called the company, they apologized, convinced us to give them another shot and scheduled a make-up service to fix the failed 1st service. Appointment time came, but the service guy did not show up. When he called 30 min later to say he was running late, it was too late for us to have him come at that point (6pm in the evening!) At this point we did not want to work with this company any more, but they held us to the contract fees regardless of the fact that they did not hold their end of the contract. Regardless of the fact that they did not provide the service as promised, when we complained and asked for our money back ($150 that was charged for the first service), they refused to refund us or let us out of the contract. We did not agree to any more charges, yet they canceled our account and charge us a $279 cancelation fee! This is malpractice, false advertising and deception. STAY AWAY!! read more
