Individual booths, to large lounging sofa type seating with lower tables; including 5 mini to 10 person private rooms, renting free for two hours, (these are booked in advance and do go fast). Including the "Majestic Ceiling To "almost" Floor" Windows, capturing a walk-about park, eye resting greenery; watch the Canadian Geese flying overhead, or if in luck, you will see flying eagles and hawks soaring in the blue skies, these windows capture the entire Rocky mountain range. And there is more: All these lovely perks, a lounge with oversize seating and low lying tables to plug in and work or view the park's landscape. There are tall tables for several to join or singularly - "PLUG IN" some playing online chess, others' concentrated on projects or gaming. Additionally, there are more larger private rooms, where we had a community Voting and registration, well organized and simple. These rooms host a diversity of functions, from story time to reading of a particular book week for anyone who enjoys listening. AND Spanish classes conducted by Emmanuel! This is a small library, but the selection is solid despite that. There are a few small conference room and there is computer access. The librarians are kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Parking is easy and the wifi is stable and fast. About a year and a half ago, I went through a brief period in which - due to multiple unfortunate incidents - I had no car, and no home internet or phone service. I was able to walk to this library to work remotely during this period, which was right in the heart of the pandemic. I absolutely do not know what I would have done without it. So visit this library and fund your local branch - you never know when you'll need it!

In fact, the second floor of this library provides a serene view of Civic Green Park, alongside cozy, well-cushioned armchairs tucked in bright corners and ergonomically friendly office chairs on wheels, facing broad desks for laptop use, backpacks and paper writing. The second hand bookstore upstairs often offers sales and it's a fun escape to browse the selection on hand. There are private conference rooms for studying, along with strong WiFi, as well as an enticing children's section with colorful play stations. My favorite time of year to visit is without a doubt the holiday season. The staff goes all out with themed Christmas trees stocked full of whimsy, wonder and inspiration. Parking can get tight, depending on calendar events, but there is overflow parking next door. The bathrooms are always clean and well stocked, on both the first and second floor. The décor is nice with different displays of art and it also has a outdoor patio and several little space capsule looking booths that you can sit in, but the internet access is very restricted here, I was unable to connect to my remote work server, rendering my visit practically useless. I am writing to share a very concerning experience my son and his grandfather had during Story Time…read moreyesterday. From the moment they arrived, they felt they were treated differently than the other families in attendance. My son was not allowed to have any of the toys that other children were using. Later, when stamps were handed out to the children, every child received one except for my son. The librarian looked him up and down and intentionally moved on without giving him a stamp. My father-in-law also tried asking a few questions about Story Time, but instead of receiving help, he said the librarian raised her voice at both him and my young son. Throughout the program, she appeared to engage warmly with the other children while largely ignoring my son. This was incredibly hurtful for our family. Story Time should be a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and treated with kindness. No child should leave feeling excluded. I hope you will look into this matter and ensure that all families are treated with respect and fairness. Thank you for taking the time to hear our concerns, and I would appreciate hearing what steps will be taken to address this situation.

This location is heavy on the charm given the stone tower that houses it. In fact, one feels a bit like Rapunzel, climbing a staircase that leads to a secret treasure trove space at the top. It's a pleasant escape and a safe place I cherish, as an introvert. Highly recommend checking this spot out--cute shops are stationed on each side and a Starbucks sits across the street for those who want fuel during their next epic read!

It used to be the Columbia Heights Elementary School (1925-1978). Note, this library is closed on Fridays. We were immediately greeted by the friendly & helpful staff as we entered. One employee asked if he could be of assistance & he escorted us to the kids area. We were there to check out the toddler books & activities. He explained thoroughly the books as well as the toys & activities. We were the only people in that area & my granddaughter had a great time looking at the books & playing with the toys. We plan on returning on Tuesdays for the Toddler Time, "Let's Dance" session.
