For a person that travels alot for work, this location was in my area and I found it to be peaceful and quiet. I found a nice spot to setup and complete my reports and other business matters. The first floor has the kids section and the second floor is for people that want to read, do homework, or set up their laptops for work. As some people collect visits to coffee shops and the like, I collect visits to libraries, and this place was a good stop. read more

I LOVE libraries. Usually I go to the Lone Tree library, but this time we went to Highlands Ranch. The librarians are helpful and kind. There are fabulous holiday trees!!! So many themes! Books! I got 2 kids and of all the libraries nearby, I will surly make the 17 min drive out to this one anyday for an adventure for my kids. The space is open, the staff is friendly, the place is super clean, and the story times are the BEST I have ever seen. Seriously, I have rarely had the same two staff members and hands down every single on of them have presented and enjoyed and make it all about about the kids. It is so much fun! You see the kiddos and the parents involved and activley moving all about. We love specifically coming here in the winter days because the space is open and has varity activities for kids. This library is my home crib. It's accompanied me through studying for the SAT in high school and studying for the GRE for grad school. It went through a major revamp in April 2019 and it's even better than before. I'm emotionally attached to this library but if I'm being as objective as I can, it's still the bomb. The renovation added a more modern feel and some colors to the equipment. There are also cool fireplaces on both floors. First, it's the perfect place to study or work. That's what you'll usually find me doing. The second floor is a haven with its plethora of desks, large windows and mostly quiet atmosphere. There's is a beautiful view of civic green park, it's fun to people watch when you need a break. There is also a lovely terrace overlooking the same park, in the summer time, it's a great place to grab a book and hang out. There are also nice conference rooms you can book. Second, it's great for kids. Especially with the park so close by. There is an awesome kids corner on the first floor. It's more like kids floor than kids corner as there are always kids running amuck. I don't explore it as much as I usually head straight to the second floor, but it seems there are always activities going on. Third, it's convenient. The parking lot is large enough I haven't seen it completely full. If it does get full, there is a larger parking area across the street. It's also within walking distance to a shopping plaza that has Safeway, Michael's, McDonald's, Einstein bagels, etc. read more

I called my local Castle Rock Library only to find that it was closed for construction and was transferred to a girl name Liz. I honestly don't know what branch she is at but she is an absolute gem and asset to the Douglas County library system. I was seeking information on a French tutor and wondering if there is a local resource available. She checked within the library, she checked on Google, and she checked among coworkers to get me any information she could, despite the fact that it was not a resource provided by the libraries. I love the customer service that this library provide! They go above and beyond for you. I was looking at getting a study room. They were all booked up. One of the librarians went out of there way to find me and tell me that one of the rooms was now available for me. I would give a 10 Star if I could. This is a wonderful library for the whole family - great events and facilities for the kiddos downstairs and quieter spaces for adults upstairs. I particularly enjoyed picking out a few books and previewing them in one of the leather chairs upstairs near a nice fireplace. Big windows also provide lots of natural lighting, there's a play/pretend grocery store for the kids, there's story time on the weekends (my kid loves going to that), and the librarians are all super friendly and helpful. Definitely a must-see for anyone living in the area. read more

This library is fantastic! They have a cute little outdoor "garden" where the kids can play with magnetic letters. The indoor kids area has a fun play area with a market and kitchen along with shopping carts. The librarian who helped my daughter find the books she wanted, was super helpful. She walked us to where our books could be found and put a book on hold at another library, that we were looking for. read more

My company did a credit seminar at the library in Lone Tree. We worked with Michael Morrow and he was amazing. The process of setting up was smooth and he was very helpful. If ever you need to schedule an event I would highly recommend the Douglas County libraries. read more

It used to be just easier to order books from Amazon.com...they get delivered to your door, you can read others' reviews on it at the same time to help you decide if you *really* want it or not, etc....but after way too many books that most of the time don't get re-read...I realized it was time to change things. Now I just buy books if I think they truly would be one worth taking space in my not so roomy bookcases. I got a library card when I first moved here and honestly barely used it since I wasn't good on the returning it on time...so those overdue fines started adding up..kind of like when you rented movies...by the time I returned them, I might as well as have bought them...which I don't do any longer since you can check so many fun ones out of the library for free...as long as you return them on time! They also have digital books available to check out, which I haven't tried yet, but hope to soon. I go to both this library and the Southglenn one. Folks who work at the Southglenn Library are sooo nice and helpful. Most who work here seem to he disgruntled. read more

I can't understand people who do not utilize their local library. My family borderline abuses our library. From books, to DVDs, to CDs... we're seriously the people who leave there once a week with our canvas tote filled to the brim. Our library (like most libraries) utilizes the online request site. I can go online, request material (usually a DVD--yeah, I know) from several other libraries in Douglas County and have it shipped to my library for free. I don't understand why people still buy books or rent movies. Every time I see someone buying a book at my coffee shop, I think to myself, "Okay, Mr. Rockefeller..." Go out, dear readers, and abuse your local library! read more

Come regularity for story time and sensory story times. My children love the sing along and activities along with the readings. Great place to spend time at. Recently started using the children's computers, total hit! Love that the screens are touchscreen and they can play or listen to an interactive story or learn how to draw numbers and letters! This library is a little hidden if you don't know it's there, just off Highlands Ranch Parkway behind the Safeway. It's also one of the busiest every time I am here. I love that the Douglas County system has online room reservations for meeting rooms. Staff is very helpful and friendly upon arrival, to direct you where you are going. And like I said, this place is well used. The computers were full Thursday night when I was there, and many study areas were booked. I haven't seen the downtown Denver this packed in a long time. It's nice to see that people still use libraries. read more

This is great library. It has a lot of material and you can borrow it for free. Be sure to do your research on-line, you'll be able to request material from other locations. The building is modern and nice. You'll enjoy spending time here. Computers with web access, great selection of magazines and a ton of books are here for your use. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the parking lot is not big enough. More than once there wasn't a single spot available. read more

The book collection keeps dwindling, the magazine racks are almost always in disarray, and the staff spends as much time heading for the employee lounge as it does helping people, which usually amounts to pointing at a computer and telling you to figure it out for yourself. Although embarrassing to admit, I really haven't been to a library to get personal books since I was a kid. When I got to this library it was beautiful, clean, quiet, and big! One of the librarians, Kathy, was so friendly and helpful in getting me set up with a card, and showing me all of the resources on the website. I would have never known all that they offer--which is a lot--without her help! She answered all my questions. I never imagined leaving with such excitement to start reading again. read more

This library has done an amazing job of moving along with the times. They still have all the paper books you could want, and if they don't they will borrow or buy them for you. However, they have added a great eBook library you can download to your eReader and it's pretty slick (I have Kindle Paperwhite and it's been easy to use) They have a coffee machine, fireplace, chess set, live music on the weekend sometimes. They have tons of story times, classes, and book clubs. They have added a play section for little ones in the kids area, and a Tween/Teen section for older kids to hang out in. Good movie selection if you are trying to rent dvds. Selection of books is large and they usually always have what you need. Quiet study zones are much better than most libraries. Plenty of desk space, outlets within reasonable distance and space between you and the next rube studying sociology. read more

What a wonderful library. I am a big library user, so when I moved to HR, this was one of the first places I wanted to check out. Get it? Check out? Annnnyway. For those with kids, you'll be very happy with the children's section. There's a comfy area with carpet and chairs for reading. There's also a great computer area with two different heights, full of educational games. They even have some toys scattered about at the end of a few of the aisles. My 1 year old loves to come here! It's a great way for us to spend the afternoon. Every system is very streamlined. You can get in and get out very quickly if you need to. All of the librarians have been helpful and courteous. This is one of my favorite study spots. There is a nice quiet study area upstairs with lots of tables available. They even have private cubbies for workers. The library is under construction, so there is some extra noise in the background. But I'll continue to come here until they close to finish their renovation--and when I they open back up I'll be back for more studying! read more

Love this library! They do an outstanding job with helping their guests as well as offering many activities throughout the year for families of all ages! It is right next to a beautiful park. (Which happens to be my children's favorite!) They have an amazing selection available on site, as well as an online catalog where you can request ANYTHING and have it delivered to their location for you to pick up. Sometimes you need to wait to speak with a Librarian, but there are always someone nearby to help you find what you are looking for. I love the app and how I can request, have them pull it and zip in to get a book without even talking to anyone, if I don't need to! My kids love using the book check-out machines. read more

The children's section is superb, the librarians are always helpful (and usually friendly), and they have a great on-site selection (one of the largest in Douglas County). You can also rent rooms for group activities, stop by Civic Green Park with your checked out books, and enjoy numerous activities on the library calendar (we recently saw legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin there). read more

This library is my favorite of the Douglas county libraries. They have a nice part behind them as well that is easy to access. They have a rooftop off if the second floor with picnic tables and umbrellas over top. They have a nice selection for every age. They have cute little corners for you to read. They put out favorites of the movie and books all around the library. It's nice that they keep seasonal things out as well like various cook books. They have very helpful staff. They have a business librarian on staff that will do market research for a business for free! A friend of mine utilized this and was able to get some great statistics for a start up he was working on. Overall, great location and accessibility. I like the drive up drop off capability. This library is great, and so is the entire Douglas County Library system. I love that I can go online and find the books, CDs, movies, whatever I want and have them pulled (or reserved if they are out) and then I get a call when they show up at this branch. I love that they have a great story time for my kids and some age appropriate games on the computers for them to play with while I snoop around for some good reads. The upstairs is a great place to work, study, organize your life...whatever. It is bright, clean, quiet and just feels fresh and inviting. When it is nice you can sit out on the patio and look at Civic Green Park . (This is another bonus for my girls, they can go play and I can be there and work. It is so close and family friendly that way.) I also enjoy that this system is available on my OverDrive app for the iPad/iPhone. I can electronically download a book without leaving my house. What a great free service to all of us. I can quickly download a book for my kids or myself. They offer a drop off drive through which is great. The parking lot is a bit small, but still great library hands down. read more
