You get a real 1950s-60s vibe from this place from the interior, not to say that it's old run down and shabby but to say that it looks like it's in a time bubble, kept clean and functional with a few modern updates here and there. I really liked their full collection of foreign movies. I think I need to go back and rent a few interesting looking ones. The Internet service here was fast but very restricted and limited. You have to really search for this place since it's tucked away in a small neighborhood.

Reminder to myself: check the hours of operation of whatever touristy place I want to visit. I have been pretty good at it since! Luckily, there were plenty of places around for me to discover. One of them was walking into Englewood Public Library. When you first walk in, you kind of feel like you're in a museum. There was the Cherrelyn horse train. The Cherrelyn was really a streetcar. A horse was used to help the motors go up a steep hill. When the train was going down it, the horse would hop in the train. All of this happened in Littleton, CO, where I was staying. I thought that it was a cool tie-in. This library is large and inviting. I wasn't expecting to spend some time investigating it, but I loved my time here. First, it had air conditioning. It was pretty hot during my July 2014 visit. Second, it's fairly quiet. I read a few magazines and enjoyed being so comfortable in my chair. There is an amazing collection of books to borrow. I also liked the multimedia section. I wished that I lived in Denver. I would be wearing out my library card. If I ever have a chance to spend a couple of hours reading and relaxing in Denver, I'd come back here. (228)

Walk-ability around the parking lot grounds is lovely, fresh cut grass, trees, seating and some shaded parking. The Parking lot is Huge, plenty of room for all meetings and clients! The meeting is immediately gracious at the front desk. To the right side of entrance there is a cafe with Croissant, chia, coffees to your taste and other delights with sitting and "Wifi" Sitting is all around in comfy chairs, plenty of books to read AND, Take a stroll down the beautify stair or elevator. There are desks a plenty, some covered, some large some small. AND a larger meeting room upstairs. Meeting private rooms from 1/2 hour to 3 hours, must schedule in advance!! Personally, I have spent many of hours in this library with my "Service Dog" by my side. Bathrooms up and down stairs, PLUS SEPARATE AREA FOR THE KIDDOS!! I have never had a run in with children as with libraries, this is a well thought out multiplistic public library!!

Its a 2 story building with the main study and reading section on the upper level. At the time of my visit the parking lot was not crowded and the homeless people inside were peaceful and quiet, mainly just looking somewhere to get out of the mid day summer heat. An interesting point of this location was the free snacks by the front door and not just any snacks but healthy snacks such as veggies and yogurt. Good place to come to read, do homework or catch up on business.

The DVD was on the shelf where it was supposed to be, so my mission was a success. The building is quite striking on the outside with interesting materials and architecture, nice landscaping, and a large parking lot. It was completed in 1962 as the last of four branches financed by the Frederick R. Ross Trust. The design has held up very well as it still looks quite fresh and contemporary. There was a major renovation in 1994. The inside is much less interesting, but appears well-stocked with a large selection of books, various media, computers, and a good children's area.
