I love Evergreen, but they really need to bring back the buffet! That's what really made this place popular. The menu items are skillfully cooked, though the tandoori chicken can tend to be dry sometimes, their tikka masala is definitely the best in town. Samosas are light and savory, naan fluffy yet biteable. But please, bring back the buffet! It made sense to suspend it for a while, back in The COVID Era -- but those dark days are far in the rear view mirror now, and you will seriously increase your customer base again with the return of the steam table. Service is generally prompt but there are a couple of male waiters there who are a bit on the haughty side. Nothing major, but avoid the lip curl if you can :) read more

There are some chicken dishes that are as good but there are none better than Evergreen's tandoori chicken! Bahut acha!!! Especially the drumsticks and the roasted onions. Order it with rice (their perfectly-cooked basmati) and. . . Make sure to get some naan, too. It's crazy good. I love those little burnt spots and the butter on them. Order it to take home if you're full, and you will be glad that you did. Re-warm it briefly in the microwave. I think I could almost live on their naan and tandoori chicken. Ignore my other review from a few years ago. Maybe it's just a matter of finding the things that a restaurant does exceptionally well. I also loved the chai. It is just like what I grew up with in Assam. Note- you can say "chai tea", but just be aware that what you're saying is "tea tea". read more

This is my go to Indian restaurant. Every time I visit Corvallis I try to convince my friends to come here. The chicken biryani is delish & the naan is so yummy. Sometimes if they're overwhelmed with online orders it can take awhile to get your food but they are always apologetic and kind about it. No concerns from me as I know what I'm about to enjoy. Great low-key spot to grab some Indian comfort food. My favorite things to get are the gobi manchuria, aloo saag, and mango lassi. I like that they offer you a choice of rice or naan with your meal. I always go with naan, and they are very generous with their portions. read more

South Indian place in the Beaver State! I was happy to have dinner here. The place filled up quickly and we were lucky to be the first ones. I ordered the Masala Dosa (very good and not greasy) and Vegetable Korma. I enjoyed the Dosa more than the Korma, but it was still good. This place use to be a staple to my diet for years... I have brought many friends to their restaurant to enjoy their delicious food... I am not sure if its a matter of complacency for their cuisine or feeling that they have a strong enough customer base that they can just coast these days but I now feel my money is better spent at nirvana and Royal India food cart in Albany. Also not sure on where the prices have increased astronomically at evergreen. My first order since the pandemic was 87$ that fed 3 people and was not pleased. This second and last time I ordered it was 93$ and fed 3 people but we didn't finish our meals... disappointing I use to love this place but things tend to change read more

Food was ok. But for Indian restaurant you would think they would bring naan at time they bring main course and not with appetizers so by the time of main course it would be cold and hard. Samosas had too many peas compared to potatoes to what I am use too. Chatnis were good. Dosa was good. Owner was at par of being rude . Like they were closing in 10 min for last order. Boy has it gone downhill, Buffett was wonderful and you got to try all the wonderful foods. Especially if you don't know what to order. Now everything is basically ala carte and small portions . You either get bread or rice with a what you ordered in a little silver bowl. You don't even know what to order unless you know Indian food. So ends up expensive and very limited. If they are going to do that a entree should include Naan and a side at least. Also food was'nt as good as it used to be. read more

I had a great experience. I came with a rather large group and we were able to get seated fairly quickly. We came for the lunch buffet which is actually very reasonably priced. I was hoping for the garlic naan but the regular naan was still good. The staff was very timely about keeping the buffet well stocked. The service was excellent as well. Food was very flavorful and the aromas were heavenly. Only complaint was that there did not seem to be A/C. And they seemed to be remodeling so ambiance was not super pleasant. read more

Wow, just wow. I'm so glad we decided to order from GrubHub. We got Vegetable samosas. So much flavor, nice, big and full. I got Coconut chicken with bell peppers, with Nan. Whoa, I got it spicy, it was perfect. The coconut was on point, great flavor. My Mom got the chicken tikka masala and she loved it too. She got it with rice and my 5 year old took it from her. She said she gave the rice 2 thumbs up. I hope one day to try their buffet, I might have to be rolled out if I do. So glad to have an amazing Indian restaurant only the next town over from us. We will definitely be back, it will be hard to pick between Nan or rice as my side, because they are both amazing in the chicken. Thanks Evergreen for an amazing dinner. read more

Evergreen Indian Restaurant. First visit, picked Evergreen Indian Restaurant because of Four Star review on Yelp. We chose the AYCE Buffet for $9.99. I found the curries just ok, nothing to write home about, and the broken chicken bones in the dishes distracting. Only vegetarian and white-meat chicken dishes on the buffet, although other meats available if you order from the menu. I was surprised there wasn't a wider variety of dishes on the buffet. I do not think I would return. Three Stars. read more

UPDATED FEB 2024 - We still think this is best Indian food in Corvallis and now happy to report the last couple of visits that the to-go orders were correct and ready on time. Not especially a place for a romantic dinner but the food is great. The lamb samosa appetizer is quite tasty and generous in size and you'll find large pieces of white-meat chicken being used in the curry. read more

This is a small restaurant in the heart of downtown Corvallis but then again, that pretty much sums up the majority of the restaurants in the area. You can't miss this place. It's the only location on the atreet with a solid green awning above the entrance. There is no dedicated parking -- just street parking but not too difficult to find a spot. We came here for a friend's birthday. We were a party of 10 and they were able to easily accomodate us. The staff is very conscientious and friendly! They always made sure we were taken care of. Our food pretty much came at the same time. That's impressive considering the size of our party and the place was VERY busy at the time. All their entrees are gluten-free, which is a plus in my book. I ordered the sada dosa for an appetizer and that was quite delicious! The eggplant curry with rice was perfect. It had the right amount of spice to it. My Fiance had the Lamb Vindaloo dinner tray. I love how the meal was served in a rectangular stainless steel compartment dinner tray. He really loved his dish. It was so much food he could barely finish the whole meal. Everyone in our table enjoyed their meal. We brought two cakes to celebrate the occasion. The staff quickly cleared the table and gave us all small dessert plates. They were quite accomodating and let us borrow a knife to cut the cake as well. The customer service here is amazing! Despite a full house, we never felt rushed. Highly recommended! read more

Did not smile once or act welcoming, answered our questions as if they were stupid ones, and treated us like we were a burden just for being there. Best Indian food in Corvallis, honestly, even Albany. Hands down a good eat every time. Consistency is key and they never fail to blow it out of the water. I would love to see them open more often and perhaps give more life to the restaurant itself but overall I really can't complain much because the food is good. We stopped in for dinner after moving our daughter into her apartment. Atmosphere: Plain. We didnt love the lighting, oddly bright but soft LED canned lighting, dark carpet... just sort of dreary. Service: Barely. No refills on water/drinks, checking on food, etc. Food: We ordered a couple veggie combos. The Samosa served first looked yummy but was toyally cold in the middle. Disappointing and we necer got to let them knownbecause they didnt come back till the main food came. We enjoyed the fish tikki marsala. The other items be really didnt care for. Rice had a stale texture and tasted very reheated, perhaps a day or 2 of reheating. Just just tsste fresh. So many places to try in the area. On the fence if we will be back. read more

To be fair, I know a lot of places get complaints for being "too spicy" when someone doesn't known what they're doing, but we really like it hot and don't need to be protected. Anyways, I ordered that and some garlic naan. When my order was ready, it came bagged up with my food, a paper plate, and a knife and fork disposable bag kit. The chicken itself was in a plastic sealed cup and there was a box of basmati rice. It was also very hot, temperature wise. I waited for my partner to get her seafood and then I went to town. Long story short (too late), it was good. There was A LOT of chicken, the curry was very spicy without being overpowering, but I definitely felt it. It was a hot day outside and the food did it's job of making me sweat and cooling me down. The sauce was wonderful and was great with the rice as well as why dipping the naan. The naan was standard but had a good, not heavy, garlic flavor. A bit dry but it is an unleavened bread. I dipped it in the curry and it was quite good. So far this has been one of my favorite meals at the Barn, and I'm looking forward to going back and trying the tandoori and the biryani.

We showed up in stages but the bartender must have been having a bad day he would get one drink order at a time is what my peeps told me, I thought they were joking. We ordered 2 Bloody Marys and one didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it so we mixed the 2 together. The food came out real slow and kind of haphazardly. I will say the hummus was good. The menu is American and Indian so I was excited. Some people's burgers were way over done and after the food all came out, I was informed they were all out of Dahl Makhani Which was disappointing. So I asked for Chana masala and after a while they came and told me that they were out of that too, so I settled for a black and blue burger with tots. My burger came and thankfully it wasn't overdone and it came with fries. Now the last 2 at the table are still waiting for their burgers none too happy. As I finish my Bloody Mary I notice a 1 1/2 inch crack in my glass which I take up to the bartender and let him know, he didn't say anything. Now in the meantime 2 people at the table are saying the chicken Caesar wrap they ordered didn't taste right and opened it up to find what looked like curried chicken chunks that were rinsed off inside the wrap. A while later I order to Kona's for my friend and I, a while later he comes over to tell me they are out of Kona, so I order 2 different beers, and as I am getting down to the end of my beer there's a shard of glass. I take this up to the bars and tell the guy and show him letting him know I think I swallowed a piece and they better check the dishwasher or something. He throws the shard of glass in the garbage and walks away. The kicker 3 of us had bad stomach aches the next day. I don't know what's going on but I would avoid this place

I really appreciate the menu listing gluten free, dairy free and vegan options. So many yummy options to choose from. They even have gluten free naan!!!!! It was a smaller selection than what we were used to but it didn't bother us. We got what we wanted to eat and enjoyed our food. Even though the buffet was closing soon, the cooks were still bringing items out. I was kinda expecting we were just going to get what ever is left, but everything was still coming out very hot and fresh. I didn't get seconds, but my daughter did. She's pregnant and said that the food really hit the spot for her and the baby. For me, that's a win! Thank you for the great food and service. We will definitely be back.

I have been wanting some Indian food, and saw on Royal India's website they offer lunch specials…read morethat were pretty reasonable. So I went to Royal India. I was seated quickly, and brought water... I also ordered a Masala Chai. Once there, I found out they no longer have Lunch Specials, but opened a buffet ($17.95) instead. Apparently the website has been incorrect for over a year, but the owner has not fixed it. I did not really want buffet, although it looked decent. So I ordered the Chicken Korma ($19.95). Then I found out that unlike the lunch specials I was hoping for, they do not serve Naan with their dishes, so also ordered some Garlic Naan. The food was delivered to my table in a reasonable amount of time... and looked good, although I thought the portion of Korma was pretty small for the price. Korma description in the menu states it has cashews and raisins in it. I think I could taste some cashew, although there were no whole cashews like I have had at other restaurants with this dish... and no raisins either. It did taste strongly of curry leaves which overpowered the cashew flavor I love. But every cook does this dish differently. Large portion of rice was ok. Garlic naan was very thin, and lacked the chewy softness I expect from naan. This was just flat, no rise at all. Masala chai was lacking in flavor, but it was a large portion, which was nice. Service was very good... Ingrid checked on me repeatedly, and was very nice. For the price ($36+) with the tip, I felt like this was a very expensive lunch, and while I did take some home... it was not even a meal (unless you count just the rice). Usually if I spend that, I get at least one other meal from the takeout. I guess I will have to just stick to making Korma at home when I want some. Not sure if I will be back....
