We switched to Evergreen Disposal after a frustrating experience with American Disposal. From the moment I reached out to Evergreen to set up our account, they were incredibly easy to contact, communicate with, and schedule service. Our trash cans even arrived much earlier than expected, which was a pleasant surprise, especially since the previous company didn't even provide us with trash cans! Evergreen Disposal sends out email schedules well in advance, keeping us informed about any changes to our pickup route. This proactive communication is so helpful and thoughtful. We have never had a missed pickup, and they consistently go above and beyond with our trash and recycling, even when we might have a bit too much at times. I remain thoroughly impressed with Evergreen, especially after the terrible experience we had with the previous company, which would claim to have picked up our trash while, in reality, they hadn't, yet still charged us for it. Evergreen is a reliable business, and I'm so grateful we found them. It's important to highlight the hard work and courtesy of both the administrative and manual employees--qualities that are quite rare these days. Evergreen gives off the vibe of a small business that truly cares, even though I know they're a larger company. While I may not consider this a necessary selling point for a disposal company, I must mention that their trucks are the cleanest I've seen in this neighborhood. This is especially noteworthy compared to many other trash companies operating here, whose trucks often look worn. Evergreen consistently stands out, embodying excellence every time. I never leave bad reviews, but this was a HORRIBLE experience with this company. In the short amount of time paying for their service, they failed to make any attempt to pick up our trash SEVEN TIMES. On the last complainant, they claimed that they put us on the "supervisor list" to make sure it didn't happen again and then immediately still managed to fail us yet again the following week. Additionally, the last time they actually picked up the trash, they threw the can in the middle of my cul de sac about 20 feet from my driveway which seemed to be done intentionally. Let me add another one star (can't go lower) review. This company is extremely aggressive. They descended on our neighborhood going door-to-door even though there are No Solicitation signs posted. I told them I wasn't interested in their new customer "teaser" rate, which my current provider matched. Yesterday, someone else showed up trying to get me to convert service. They showed me a map of the area identifying all their customers (not sure if those customers agreed to expose their relationship). I reminded him that it is unlawful to solicit in a posted neighborhood. If I could put zero stars, I would... They signed me up on a door to door visits, but in the end I decided to stay with my old company and called them to cancel. They insisted on charging a $75 fee for pick up of their containers even though the service did not even start and their contract clearly stated that $75 fee was only applicable for price-shopping in the first year of service. Monday 10/6/25: We only did 4 days with them before canceling; we didn't even hesitate paying the $75 for them to pick up their cans and we let them keep our prepaid quarter. They're new to our area and we had a door-to-door salesman come by. We were promised things that didn't come true during the first week. We were given 1 trash can, 1 recycling can, 2 stickers we could put on our own cans for trash, and 2 stickers for yard waste to put on cans. On our service day, Evergreen missed 2 of our trashcans with the stickers on them. We called and they said they would come again. We've been looking at the cans all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday. It is now Monday. When we called, the guy confirmed it was marked incomplete and they could come today. You should've already come for trash pick up? It's already Monday 2PM. I don't want to babysit a paid service. read more

Evergreen Disposal came by our home with a good sales pitch and a reasonable price. So, we left our old company for Evergreen. I am sorry we did. We had no issues with our old servicer (American Disposal). Once we switched, Evergreen had a 54% fulfillment rate on their services over a three month period. They missed either trash, recycle or both nearly half the time. When I called, they would come out a day or two later to correct the missed pickups. Evergreen offered a credit for missed pickups when it was impractical to come out due to the next scheduled pickup time. I spoke with several levels of management to rectify the issue. Finally, I was told a member of management would call on the day following trash service to verify pickup. I never received a call. The next call I received was someone telling me that they will be canceling my service because my street is too narrow and there was a power line running parallel to the road at my neighbors home. UPS, Republic Trash service and American Disposal are all able to navigate the street. I asked for a refund and was told that I would hear back from management. Once again, no response. I guess since I prepaid, I won't see the price adjustment they promised for the missed pickups, let alone a refund. I will be going back to American Disposal who never missed a pickup and is comparably priced. Save the aggravation and skip Evergreen. read more

I call Evergreen and a person answers. They are responsive. They are the most competitive in our area of Northern VA. They give us lots of digital communication to let us know if holidays or inclement weather will change their service schedule. I have had 3 other garbage collection services at our home since we moved here in 1998. Evergreen is the BEST by far. I am super happy with their service. read more

Very poor customer service. We had just gotten back from a trip when they were starting to service our road. I got the trash can out before they were done with the cul de sac but they just passed by our house on the way out. I know they saw me bring the trash down. When I called customer service they said to make sure the trash is out before they get to us next time. I understand we should have our can out earlier but decent humans would have stopped to get the can, they wouldn't have had to backup or anything. They looked at me as they passed by and hit the gas. Evergreen Disposal has proved to be far superior than the other waste removal companies in the Kings Park West area of Fairfax County. Since my service with Evergreen started in October of 2024 (8 months): not one missed pickup!! Their email communications and website posts have been timely and accurate. And, the best of all: same day pickup for waste, recycle items and yard waste-- not three separate days! This is absolutely more convenient for me as compared to three separate days the other guys provide on an "on again, off again basis". Also, the price is right. Evergreen is a great example of how a competitive marketplace works. read more

Our yard waste was not picked up on our Friday puck up. I emailed the company first since they close at 430. Nick got back and told me to call customer service. On the following monday I called and was told it would be picked up by end of business Tuesday. Nick emailed me a few times and was as useless as the lying phone person. By the time the next pick up came around I had to hand the soaked bags and get them back in the spot to hopefully be picked up the next morning. I love this company. We trialed a few different companies several years ago and the price, customer service, and number of pick-ups per week (We need two) aligned with what we needed. Additionally, they do offer bulk pick-up for those old couches, mattresses, etc. that you just can't take to the dump yourself. We've never had a missed pick up and during inclement weather, Evergreen is on top of communicating to their customers. I love that they don't put their employees at risk just to make a buck. We purchased our home in the Charles County and have been with Evergreen Disposal for over 3 years now and have nothing but great things to say. Their customer service is superb whenever you call them, fees are lower when compared to other service providers, their workers are exceptional, respectful, and regardless of the weather, they are always on time. If a schedule shift is needed due to a holiday, we receive pre-recorded messages in advance to notify us so we can plan accordingly.
